Well as Naruto and Sasuke heard that they both had Rinnegan in both eyes, Naruto was quick to mention that since this is the case, Sasuke should be able to get a new arm that Tsunade can make for him and to make matters even better, he knows how the arms are made, so he could help Tsunade not only develop them but improve them. Sasuke couldn't believe what he just said, it was like Naruto was ignoring the fact that no matter what he was still an Uchiha, to have him say that, it means quite literally he would have to have the blood of a Senju become part of him.
Naruto might not understand it but Orochimaru in fact could, and told him that things are never as easy as he thinks, "Look kid, I know Sasuke better than you apparently, the rivalry between the Uchiha and the Senju is not something that he can easily forget or forgive. And if he is anything like I know him to be, he would rather tell Tsunade to grab that fake arm made from Senju cells and ram it straight up her ass, than accept to have anything like that inside him."
Sasuke wanted to simply tell Orochimaru that he was right, just to have the guy feel a little bit of joy in his day, but sadly he was very wrong, He looked at both Naruto and Orochimaru as closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Having only five fingers limits me in unacceptable ways, and I can make a never-ending supply of Shadow Clones to help me finish the Chakra manipulation to make a Jutsu work, like some people, so would I take up that arm and accept that deal? Yes, Hell Yes, I might even be so grateful to Tsunade that I might even do something I have never done before in my entire life, smile, hug her, and thank her for it."
Orochimaru was the first to call bullshit on the very idea, "Ok, this is freaky, he never once said thank you to me, I think the only person he was that nice to be Manda and his daughter, but then again Manda could have told me that to piss me off. Just to see that, to see the proverbial Emo prince of Konoha show gratitude and show appreciation for a favor, fuck it, I will help Tsunade make those fucking arms.
Naruto was happy to see that without even trying essentially he got Orochimaru to rejoin Konoha again and do something to help others, which to him meant only one thing, the redemption of the crazy scientist was well underway.
As they were talking they finally made it to Konoha, much to the shock and surprise of the people on guard, first off was that both Naruto and Sasuke returned and both missing an arm, and the whole thing with Orochimaru being all buddy with them was a little bit creepy to them, and these are men who fought in wars. They, however, had to tell the guards the purpose of their entering Konoha, to appease the one monster that ruins the lives of any Kage who has ever lived, paperwork.
Naruto told them he was returning after a little sparring match with Sasuke that got a little out of hand, Sasuke was returning because Naruto told him things that made him realize that his life would be horrible if he didn't return, and he misses his wife, Orochimaru simply said that he learned from his mistakes and he just wants to return to Konoha, help the current Hokage, to improve medical technology, and other things to make the lives of Konoha and all their allies at least a thousand times better, saying that his crazy dream of becoming Hokage was just another case of temporary insanity. "So once I meet with the slug princess, I am going to work with her to patch these two up, and eventually I will return to my village, I got a ton of shit I need to explain, a ton more to apologize to, and a whole lot of things to try and make the Sound village into a good ally village for Konoha, so no, I am not having a good time."
As they heard this the next thing for them to do is guide them towards the Hokage's office so she to decide what the hell will happen to them and how either Sasuke who abandoned Konoha, or Orochimaru who killed one of their Hokage would be either punished, executed, or imprisoned. One of them was leaning more towards the execution option if the way he acted near Orochimaru was any indication, he was glaring at the man like he wished his glare would cause him to burst into flames, and not without reason, Hiruzen was one of the most beloved Hokage in the village history.
As they walked through the village, Naruto it didn't seem that much different from his own, Sasuke was more interested in the fact that shops were doing a lot more business than he remembered, these shops back when he lived in the village were barely making enough to survive, but every shop had a lot more clients than even he expected, Orochimaru didn't give two rats ass about it, he had to get his mind ready to deal with the pain in the ass of having to convince Tsunade that he learned why he was wrong, and that he truly wanted to help the village to make up for all the wrong he had done, without her trying to crush him to paste with her bare hands.
Orochimaru knew of the strength of one hundred and he knew that Tsunade had not only perfected it but mastered it, never mind that her slugs were, in fact, capable of using acid so horrible it could melt the flesh from the bones of her enemy. Never mind that she was also much like him a student of Hiruzen, and would have a not-so-pleasant reaction upon seeing the man who killed their teacher, even if Hiruzen would have forgiven him if he just came back and apologized. This made him realize that the horrible situation he will face was all his fault, had he not killed Hiruzen, which he was sure his version in the current dimension did, then Hiruzen would be the one he would meet, and he would be at least a thousand times more forgiving and understanding than anything a pissed off Tsunade would ever be.
As they walked towards the Hokage Tower, Orochimaru was happy that they had released everyone from the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Naruto told him they had to because unless they did, there wouldn't be anyone in the village for them to meet, and they would still have the problem of them no longer being able to do ninjutsu on their own, kind of funny that some would not consider losing an arm to be such a major thing, till it happens and they find how wrong they were. Sasuke told him it was a classical example of not knowing what a person had till they lose it.
The building looked the same to all three of them, except that they usually had to take the stairs that run on the outside of the building to reach where they were going, instead, they were told to go inside and enter a small room inside the building, the place was inside but it was easy to see thanks to all the lights that came from the ceiling and walls.
The guard simply pressed a number three on a small plaque by the door, which made Naruto and Sasuke realize where they were, an actual functional elevator, something equivalent to electric lighting, they both didn't expect this dimension to be as advanced as theirs, what was next? Wireless communication and portable computer terminals? This would mean that a lot of the innovations and improvements they wanted to inspire. where not needed. Orochimaru was freaking out for a different reason altogether, it took four wars and the leadership of Naruto to reach this far, but somehow Tsunade of all people, the person whom she knew as a drunken, gambling wreck, managed to do this? The woman was called by the public as the ultimate sucker. Meaning any bet, no matter how ridiculous, or impossible, she would fall for it. A dream for every con artist and scammer who ever existed.
As they exited and saw they were just in the lobby leading to the Hokage's Office, well Naruto began to remember all his not-so-wonderful memories of the place, the many times he begged and pleaded with the secretary to let him see Hiruzen, but each time he was kicked out of the lobby telling him the Hokage is far too busy to waste time on a thing like it. This is sort of ironic since eventually, Naruto would become Hokage. As they were thinking this one of the guards asked if Sasuke would want to inform his fiance that he was injured.
Sasuke told the guard that his fiance is Sakura and was probably too busy saving lives in the middle of surgery to even care, she would not abandon her patients because her groom suffered a non-fatal debilitating injury. The other person asked him if he doesn't mean Blossom Haruno. This made Sasuke glare at the man so hard that his eyes nearly activated, as he told him that as far as he knew the Haruno Family only had one child, and that was his wife Sakura.
Naruto told him about different dimensions, and different rules, maybe having twins in this dimension is the standard rather than the rare case, and most people had twins, and rarely do couples only have one child. Orochimaru still said that going to the Academy with two copies of Jiraiya would have been a nightmare fit only for hell. Sadly Naruto in a rare instance began to shake his head in agreement as soon as he heard what Orochimaru said. He spent training under the man for three years, and in those three years, he had memories that were unpleasant to say the very least.
The group was greeted by the secretary who appears to be Sakura's mother, who had pictures of both daughters on her desk, the two young women in the pictures may look like mirror images of each other but one had pink hair and the other had dirty blonde hair, but the other differences were visible if you looked hard enough. One was wearing so much pink it was almost so girlish it was painful to look at, the other was wearing light red clothes, almost like looking at cherry blossoms.
"If it isn't my future two son-in-laws, what brings you here? Did my daughters send you on another errand? wait, your arms, what happened to make you each lose an arm like that? Were you attacked? I must inform Hokage, her advisor, and my daughters immediately. They will do something for you two, got to take care of this fast too, My daughters would be horrified to see you like this."
Sasuke apologized but asked what did she mean that both he and Naruto were her future sons-in-law? She lightly hit him on the shoulder and told him to stop kidding around or she might need to ask the Yamanaka to come and help him deal with some mental problems he might have developed due to his injury, "Sasuke you are the groom of my daughter Blossom, and Naruto of course is the groom of his long time crush, my daughter Sakura, but that is all things that can be discussed back home, and yes I mean the Haruno Compound. Now come on, the Hokage and her advisor will want to know how in the world this happened to you, don't worry, the Hokage is a medical genius I am sure she will come up with something to make things right."
As they entered through the stylish wooden carved doors, Naruto asked when Sakura become Hokage, until he heard a voice that he was shocked to hear say that she has not become Hokage, at least not yet. That is when he turned and looked at the man standing to the right of the massive desk and saw that it was the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, playfully cleaning his pipe as he said that.
To the left of the massive desk was another thing neither expected, it was an older version of what they had seen once, but it was a female version of Orochimaru, Orochimaru began to wonder if in this universe he was born with a sister, this idea was squash flat as this female came towards him and without even greeting him she stuck her tongue in his mouth which was shocking to both Naruto and Sasuke to see.
She stopped and looked at Tsunade as she told her that sadly this person was not a clone at all, he was a version of herself from a place she couldn't figure, and not that bad of a kisser, all the while with a blush on her face.
Naruto looked at Orochimaru and couldn't help but to laugh to see the man also blushing, "Just how narcissistic are you? That you fell in love with a female version of yourself. Show some self-control, at least someone explains to me why is the Third Hokage alive, even though Baa-chan here is the Fifth Hokage."
Tsunade hearing what he called her quickly got up off her seat and rushed towards him as he tried to punch him in the gut, exclaiming not to call her that you stinking brat. The Orochimaru of this dimension was trying hard to hide her laughter but Hiruzen was laughing his ass off as they saw this, to be able to dodge a strike from Tsunade was not something most people could do.
As the female version of Orochimaru calmed down, she looked at Naruto and Sasuke and decided to explain that the sand and wind invasion happened she did her best to defeat Hiruzen to prove her worth, but she had no intention at all to kill the man whom to her was her father she prevented a lot of people from being hurt during the invasion. Hiruzen laughing told Naruto that even if he didn't die, he had already picked Tsunade as his next successor, and when she was brought back to the village, he became one of the two advisors of the Fifth Hokage.
Orochimaru told them she became also an advisor since she would help in scientific matters, and thanks to them both being there to help Tsunade, they were there to help Tsunade to help Konoha to be the way it currently was.
In the divine realm some people were not having a good time at all, specifically Zeus and Poseidon, they were told that their sons would kill each other at some point, and while that is depressing to see, cousins causing each other's demise, it gave their fathers the hope that once they died, they could be brought to the divine realm, and have them ascend into godhood. their wives wished there was a less violent or traumatic way to do this, but their husbands were quick to remind them, they were conceived when they sealed their divine powers, so essentially they are legacies, and as such they can not ascend until they leave their mortal lives behind, in other words, they have to die to have even the chance to do that.
The thing is the day when they were supposed to die had come and passed for an entire month, and no matter how many times they asked Hades or Persephone about it or asked if they had the souls of their dead nephews, it always ends the same way, Zeus screaming at Hades accusing him of trying to keep his son away from him and his wife because he wants to make them suffer and Poseidon trying to calm down his brother from his paranoid delusions.
"Honestly Poseidon, as the Ruler of the Underworld I know every soul that has perished and when it does, but no matter how many times I explain that to Zeus, he refuses to get it, my nephews Naruto and Sasuke are simply not dead, and I can't find them until they do die. neither I nor Persephone would wish this sort of stress on their mothers, we are not that cruel and heartless."
Poseidon told him he knows but it has been a month and there is nobody that can tell where their missing children are, "Look I know my son is capable, and he will try to save his cousin, but the fates told us they were fated to die, how could anything prevent that?"
Hades began to think about it and simply said something out of pure reflex and said if they can't find the souls of these two missing sons, why not ask the fates themselves, they should be able to explain what the hell is going on since nobody understands a person's fate more than those three can. Zeus hated to admit it, but his brother was correct on that point, and he would ask the fates where are his son and nephew, more importantly, why didn't they die.
The very next morning both parents summoned the fates to appear, much like before they expected them to ask one particular question, and since they knew the fates of others they knew what the question is, however, they liked the feeling of power they held, having the gods ask them for this information. The feeling of having the King of the gods and the King of the seas beg them for information.
As the three appeared they looked at Zeus waiting for the question, and when they heard it, they couldn't help but to smile, "The prophecy that was told is true, they were supposed to die on the day we mentioned, however, something came to pass that cause that fate to be changed." Hera didn't like this answer since she told them that time after time the fates had told them that a person's fate could not be changed. One of the three walked closer and looked at Hera who appeared to have not slept peacefully in many nights, feeling pity she decided to tell her something that her other two sisters had no desire of sharing.
"A person's fate is unchangeable by most standards, only a person whose outside of fate can change a person's fate, and sadly that is what has transpired, two older versions of your children have come from another reality, and upon seeing their younger selves dying they did something we could not expect, they saved them, by merging their bodies and repairing the bodies of your children, however, this was not without consequence, their minds are mixed up, their memories would take time to fuse into each other, causing much confusion, since the parents of the older versions are not the same as the ones in this reality."
Zeus was not happy about this, what do they mean the parents of these older versions of their children had different parents? "It appears as the roles you and your wives picked are reversed, in the universe where these older versions came from, Zeus and Hera, became Fugaku and Mikoto, and Poseidon and Amphitrite, were Minato and Kushina, unlike in ours where your son Zeus was Naruto and Poseidon's son was Sasuke. This brings a host of other problems, when the two merged the powers of all four of you became present within them, making them two of the most powerful legacies there is, so expecting them to die is not a good idea."
As they said this the three fates left as they has appeared but Hera and Amphitrite could swear that the three sisters of fate were laughing for some strange reason as they disappeared and left. "I don't care if in that universe I am his uncle, and you are Naruto's father, that is meaningless till we find them, bring them here, so we can see this for ourselves. Athena, as one whose realm is wisdom, you know that realm as well as any of the elder gods, you shall go, but to make finding them easier, you shall take our best scout to help you find them, Artemis I know you hate being told to look for them but please, if not for us but for the peace of mind of our wives, please find our missing sons and bring them back here."
She wanted to scream at Zeus that maybe he should get off his high horse and go do it himself if it was so important for him to find two boys, but as much as she hated to admit it, this would cause both Hera and Ampitrites suffering to continue, so in an act of both kindness and humility she accepted immediately but only after her hunters were allowed to be in a place that would keep them safe, to Artemis these hunters were as close to her as calling them her children. When Artemis was told that this will be done, she and Athena began to walk out of the room but as they did they began to talk among each other.
"So we are looking for the sons of Poseidon and Zeus if they are anything like their fathers, one is a major womanizer, and the other is an irrespective rapist, it shouldn't be that hard to find perverts like that, we might as well check with the first prison we see and might get lucky and find them both in the same cell."
Athena told them that essentially these two were also their kid brothers, and as such saying something like that about their youngest sibling was not only rude but foolish, "You can't judge them like that, you might be surprised, look what we thought of Hercules, and he didn't turn up like we thought he would be, the same could be the case for Naruto and Sasuke, we just need to find them, somehow get them to understand our language and explain why we must bring them back to the divine realm."
Artemis looked at Athena and told her that was unnecessary, the minute he finds these two little perverts, she would simply knock them down on their asses, tie them up and drag them back to their mothers, even if they were kicking and screaming while she did it.
As they finally reached Camp Half-Blood, Artemis told her hunters that everything was arranged and they will remain in the camp till her current task is finished, one of the hunters asked her what task was so important, and that is when Athena told her, the retrieval of the son of Zeus and the son of Poseidon. "We need to find them and soon, their mothers have suffered ever since the day that they were fated to die, and couldn't revive them, because it turns out they are still very much alive, we can't take you with us because we have to attempt to be stealthy about this, thus a need for a small party. Help the children in the camp, as for where you can sleep, Artemis does have a cabin in the camp, it is rarely used for obvious reasons."
Artemis was told by her best hunter that if she needs help to hell with the consequences and summon them, and every one of them would be willing to fight and die to help her. She smiled and told them that there was no need, at most they think they will face mortals, and they would prove to be easy for them to deal with, making the hunters relax as both Artemis and Athena were sent to a few hundred feet away from Konoha, they found themselves in a valley with two massive statues of two men glaring daggers at each other, almost like they wanted to fight.
"You always bug me to know about this dimension don't you Artemis, well here is a little trivia, the two boys we were sent to bring back to their mothers, are the reincarnations of the two men represented by those two statues, Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha, they fought each other apparently through multiple reincarnations, but if rumors are true, somehow they buried the hatchet and now are as close as a family because that is exactly what they are."
Since when does she need an explanation of two men wanting to fight each other for whatever the hell justification they had, she lost count of how many men have caused wars due to everything from money to a perceived insult to their pride, chances are these two are no better, and that rumor is not true, they simply stopped to catch their breath before they continue fighting each other.
Athena told her that at the very least let her do the talking since the people in the dimension they were in did not know their language, and most would perceive a misunderstood language as insults which could lead to unnecessary fights, and make this task that much more difficult. Artemis was not happy when she heard Athena but warned her that any man that tries to grab or touch her appropriately she would make that fool pay for it, in pain.
Look all Athena was asking is for them to be reasonable and try to find as much information without causing all sorts of problems, she went even further and told them they should disguise themselves since this would make people less afraid of them, even Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, and his wife took on a different form to blend in, so it was no shame in doing so.
The journey through the forest was mostly pleasant except for the odd bandit who thought they were going to be easy prey, the only thing these bandits ended up doing was praying that in their next lives, they don't make this fucked up mistake again. Artemis beat them so badly with just her fists and when one tried to grab a sword, he pinned those bandits to the trunk of a nearby tree like they were holiday decorations. She initially simply wanted to burn them to death using Greek fire, saying that even beasts deserve a warm meal, but when Athena mentioned that much of the forest would also end up burning that is when she decided to use her bow instead.
As they came towards the gate two guards asked them the usual questions, names, reason for travel and what did they plan to do within the village, both of them looked at each and did a strange series of hand signs to each other and Athena stepped closer to the guards. "I apologize, my sister doesn't know your language, I explained what you were going to say, now I am Athena, litigator, and my sister is Artemis, professional hunter, we came to your lovely village because this is the place we were told we might find the location of two long lost relatives of ours. Their mothers are emotional wrecks, and finding their sons is our hope that this will help them recover. We mean you nor the people here any harm, but finding these two relatives is the only means to save the lives of their mothers."
One of the guards opened the door and told them that weapons are not allowed to foreigners within the village, so as soon as they deposit any weapons they may be carrying, they will help them find a nice hotel for them to stay in, in fact, the people in the village are rather friendly if they asked them questions they might learn more about these two lost relatives, the other guard told them that a good place to meet people is, in fact, the restaurant that was favored by two of the previous Hokage, their leaders, it was called Ichiraku and they serve a dish which is called Ramen.
They did as they were instructed and deposited some rather plain weapons, a small dagger and a bow with a half-full quiver of arrows. The hotel was a lot nicer than what was expected after Athena heard what the price per night was, it was then they decided to speak with the merchants but for some reason, they refused to speak of anyone named Naruto or Sasuke, and some of them ask them to leave almost immediately when they asked. Athena was doing the actual questioning but sometimes she would translate Artemis' questions for her.
Artemis understood that she could not take the direct approach she wanted, she would get no result from blatantly asking about the two missing sons by asking about them using their names, Athena told her sister that they either don't know anyone with those names or they were ordered not to speak about them. They are in a ninja village after all, and every single merchant they spoke with could be something other than what they appear.
Seeing that Athena was correct in her subtle and painfully slow approach, they decided to go and eat lunch at the place the guard told them about, and when a young waitress came to ask for their orders Athena told her the sob story about how their two relatives were lost and how much being away from their sons was slowly killing their mothers. As Ayame returned to the kitchen to get their order and to try and grab something to wipe away her tears, Athena noticed two pictures on the wall, to which they asked the chef and owner of the place who those two were.
He began to laugh as he served them some juice, "You two must be foreigners indeed not to recognize them, these two are the saviors of the world, they stood up and defeated the Rabbit Goddess, Kaguya, there are two of our most valiant ninja, and sadly in the fight against Kaguya they both lost an arm, but don't worry, our Hokage made them each an amazing new arm to replace the ones they lost, as for what their names are, the blonde guy is Naruto Uzumaki, the guy my girl has had a crush for years, and his best friend is the one with black hair, Sasuke Uchiha, one of the last Uchiha still in the village. Sorry that I delayed your order, but I simply love to talk with others about our very best customers."
Athena asked him if they come to the restaurant often. Ayame laughed as she finally got their food on the tray and brought it to their table, "Not as often as I would like, you can see them or even talk with them at least every evening, they usually come here for dinner. As important as they are, and all the things they do, they practically only have one meal at our place per day. I guess Naruto-kun and Sasuke-san will have dinner tonight here, or so they told me the last time I met them, so if you wish to meet them I would come here after the sunset."
