AN: Hi guys, so far, I have managed to pick up the pace with writing a bit faster after getting out of writer's block for some time. Anyway, here is the most recent chapter for A Silver Legacy. Please Review, Fave, and Follow. I do not own MHA or OP.
"Hell of a time?" Ibara repeated to herself as their new teacher gave a smirk that told them he was a man with no fear and will do as he wants. The rest of 1-B were still wrapping their heads around the new teacher.
"Is this some sort of prank, Vlad-sensei?" Jurota asked.
"…I don't have any comments. At all." Awase added in.
"Are you kidding me?!" shouted Kamikiri, baffled.
The Blood Hero could only sigh tiredly at how his students were barraging him with questions, clearly hoping that this was a prank in action.
"...Unfortunately, no. He is the newest faculty member of U.A.," He said after a moment, realizing that telling them that Silver was now a teacher at the academy would double the pain in the ass he's currently experiencing.
"Impossible! UA. should have higher standards than to hire this thug!" Monoma yelled, his words laced with disbelief and rage. Tetsutetsu was still holding, so the sudden outburst from the blonde caused him to drop the boy.
Silver, meanwhile, was scratching his beard as he gazed over the class. "Well, I have to get prepared to teach 1-A first. So... you lot get to have fun with me tomorrow. Oh, and try not to play hooky," he remarked as he made his way out of the classroom, ignoring the shouts of the students.
Kendo's eyes noticed how her teacher had a stare that belonged to a broken man and felt an uneasiness in her heart.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Juzo climbing out of the hole he made on the floor.
"Sorry, Snipe-sensei."
X-|UA Cafeteria|-X
1-A was in the cafeteria, fairly silent, some pinching themselves to wonder if they were dreaming.
"OW!"
"OW!"
"OW!"
"OW!"
"Okay, that's enough!" screamed Jirou. "We're not dreaming!" She was annoyed at the constant shouts of her classmates whenever they'd pinch themselves.
At the middle of the table, Yaoyororzu and Iida were inspecting their cups and others in proximity to see if they were tampered with. The girl had created a small drug test kit to get more results.
"Maybe… it's a slow-acting agent?"
"But it could also be a fast-acting agent that leaves some side-effects."
'Did I eat too many midnight snacks this time?' Thought Sato and Uraraka, but the following responses?
"You know, I'll cut back on them…."
"It's time to start dieting anyway."
"Wait a minute… you eat snacks at midnight too!?" They both yelled to each other, surprised by how they shared the same habit, but quickly covered their mouths, wondering if they revealed too much.
"There you are, young Midoriya!" A booming voice surprised both students.
They looked to see All Might peering into the cafeteria before presenting a rather cute-looking Bento Box.
"Would you please have lunch with me?"
Ochako struggled to keep herself from bursting out laughing. 'He's like a schoolgirl.'
Izuku had to wonder what his mentor thought when he decided to go for the rather odd approach. "Uh, sure. I'll see you guys back at homeroom."
X-|Break Room|-X
When Izuku got to the break room to meet with his mentor, Silver was also present, eating a sandwich.
"Silver-san? What are you doing here?" asked Izuku, confused by the silver-bearded man's presence.
"Me? I'm here to get One for All under control." Silver responded nonchalantly, but Izuku tensed. Silver noticed this and waved an arm, signaling the green-haired boy to relax.
"Now, don't start getting so finicky; Toshi already told me to keep it a secret," he said calmly.
Izuku eased as he took a seat next to his mentor. Toshi deflated to his true form as he got more comfortable.
"Alright, Freckles, what are two things you need to be a good fighter?" Silver shot two questions at Izuku.
"Speed and uhh... foresight?" Izuku asked hesitantly, his answer coming out shakily.
"You're not far off, a pretty good answer, but the 2 things that make a fighter are strength and technique." Answered Silver.
"You definitely have the strength to prove it when you busted up that big bot during your introduction exam and your battle trial. However, you're missing something crucial, and it made you very sloppy." Izuku filched at the rather harsh criticism, but deep inside, he knew Silver was right.
"Toshi gives you the physical training to handle that special power of yours. However, you lack the technique and finesse needed, so you don't end up having all your bones break every time you use it. That's one reason why I'm here today, kid; teaching you how to throw a punch without breaking your arm." He explained relaxed, but then his expression hardened as he directed his gaze to Japan's #1 Pro Hero.
"I believe you should finally come clean to your successor, Toshi." Silver said.
All Might faltered, stuttering out his next words. "W-what do you mean?"
Silver straightened himself up from his seat. "Sorahiko has been my partner in crime for a long time, and we still keep in touch. You might as well tell him about All for One already."
Toshi started sweating, and he gripped his armrest hard as he gritted his teeth. Izuku became rather shocked to see his mentor have such an intense look. "Do you know how dangerous it is to bring him up?!" He asked harshly.
Silver held his gaze, unaffected. "The moment he got One for All, it became a sealed fate that he's going to get involved with this in some way, shape, or form. You might as well tell little greenie here about the guy you hate."
With a deep breath, Toshi calmed himself down to finally look his successor in the eyes. "You're right…my boy, it's time you know about All For One."
Toshi took a sip of his drink before setting it down to help him stay calm. "All For One claims to be a demon king; truth be told, it may not be far from the truth. A power like his, it might as well be." Izuku sputters on what type of villain he is and his Quirk.
"To call him a villain would be undermining the danger he poses. He's like an unstoppable force of nature. As for his Quirk? It allows him to take and give other Quirks like they were party favors."
"He only wants Quirks that are considered the best of the best. He would not be satisfied with something too complex or the kind of Quirk that takes time to master." Silver added in. "However, he has a glaring weakness that you can exploit. Can you figure it out, Freckles?"
Izuku took a bit to think about it before it hit him. "He relies more on his Quirks and plain brute force, right!?" Izuku nearly shouted.
"You hit the nail right on the head, kiddo. Though, I believe Toshi should answer your previous question." Said Silver as he gestured to the number one hero to follow up.
Toshi hates being put on the spot, it feels still uneasy, but there's no other way around it. "One for All's original user was All for One's brother. The Quirk itself is a mutated mixture of the brother's original Quirk and a stockpiling Quirk forced upon him. My mentor, Nana Shimura, told me this."
"Was that too difficult to say now? Asked Silver, attempting to use a bit of humor to keep the mood from going too dark.
"Shut it."
"Regardless, Toshi has personal experience on how potent All For One is." Silver said, insinuating to All Might to continue.
"... All for One, despite his use of brute force, is a master of psychological warfare. In other words, he will aim for your sanity if he can't beat the hell out of you."
Izuku could only nod, his mind processing all the valuable information he was absorbing.
"He always made it his duty to personally go after any wielder of One For All, and he was responsible for the injury that prevented me from maintaining my form." Toshi continued, his voice holding a bitter tone.
Izuku remembered that injury his mentor was talking about. The fist-size scar right where his stomach should've sent All Might go straight to a coffin. He shuddered to think of the amount of pain he felt when he received it from such a foe.
"Toshi said he was running out of time, so now it's my turn to help you learn the technique you need for when it's time for you to face him." Silver stated as he stood up. "Meanwhile, I gotta get my lunch, so I'll let you and your pseudo-dad have some time together before I teach you." Both Izuku and Toshi were faltering in confusion at the rather blunt comment as Silver led himself out the door. The rest of their lunch was uneventful afterward, and soon Izuku went back to his homeroom to prep for Hero training under Silver.
X-|1-A Classroom|-X
Before the students of 1-A could leave their classroom, the door was being swarmed by students from the other departments of UA, blocking them off. From general education to business to support class, everyone wanted to see the class that survived a villain attack and managed to grab the media's attention.
"What's going on?!" Ochako shouted in confusion at the herd that refused to budge.
"These extras are scoping out the completion." Bakugo snarled at the other students. "Cuz we're the class who survived the villain attack. Move out of the way, extras!"
Bakugo's harsh comment did not make things any better as the crowd simply raged back at him in response.
"So, this is how the hero's course acts, huh? I can't say I'm not impressed by you if you act like this." A rather tired-looking student with curly purple hair said, walking towards the front. His eyes had dark bags under them, and his voice seemed hoarse.
"Like the word of extra matters to me." Bakugou snarled, unused to people talking back at him.
"And your und-"
SMACK!
The purple-haired student was smacked on the head with a wooden cane as a rather tall black-haired student with slicked-back hair walked forward, holding the said stick. The taller student also had a UA uniform on, his stripe on his sleeve indicated he was part of the General Course.
The purple-haired student rubbed his head to ease the pain from the smack as the black-haired student stepped beside him. One feature that stood out, however, was that the student's eyes were closed.
"Hit-kun, try to learn a bit of tack instead of insulting everyone." The now dubbed Hit can only slightly glare at the taller student.
"And you just killed the moment. You know, the declaration of war speech and all that?" he stated as he scowled at him. The taller student chuckled and straightened himself up, presenting himself to the famed classroom of 1-A.
"I want to apologize for my friend's rather rude declaration of war." The tall student slightly bowed, surprising the class of 1-A.
"It's not an issue... uh..." Izuku started but realized that he never got his name.
The student smiled. "Suiseigan. Suiseigan Zato. My friend who wanted to declare war on you is Hitoshi Shinsou."
"Don't give away my name to our foes!" Shouted Shinsou, but Zato ignored his friend's outburst as he pointed his cane at Jiro. "However, just like Hit-kun, I will declare war on you since you're the best of the best."
…
…
…
"...Uh, Zato, you're pointing at the wrong person." Shinsou readjusted Zato's cane to point at Izuku, who gulped.
"Now we're even." Zato Sighed, "You're not going to let me live this down."
"Never."
"Karma sure does work in weird ways."
"Oi, Don't ignore m-!" Bakugo yelled out, only to be cut off by Zato whacking him in the head with his cane. Zato then turned his gaze to Izuku. "I have said my piece, and so, I shall take my leave." He said, turning around and urging Shinsou to leave as well, who was glaring at 1-A while repeatedly calling them his foes.
"Uh... alright," Izuku said, rather unsure of what to say next.
"Just remember, everyone will be gunning for the chance to get into the heroes course." Before he can walk away, Zato is in front of him.
"Hit," Zato called out.
"What do you want now?"
"Hmm… I would like some Yokan. Want to pick some up later?" Nearly everyone who heard this fell to the floor for how asinine the question he asked was.
"Gah, fine. I could use some as well." Grumbled out Hitoshi as he made his way through the crowd. However, the rest of the crowd did not wish to leave, up until a rough voice boomed out.
"Oi! What going on here?!" Silver stood not too far from the crowd of students. His arms were crossed, and he did not look pleased by the herd blocking off his students.
"You can scout the completion when it is not on my time, now scram!" The old vigilante glared down at the rest of the students, and they all booked it.
Before the rest of 1-A could remark, Silver glanced at them. "Don't just stand there looking pretty. Get your hero costumes on in the locker room and meet me at Gym Beta."
Most of 1-A owlishly blinked before heading off to the locker room to prepare for the next class.
X-|Boy's Locker Room|-X
The males of 1-A were getting their hero suits on when they decided to talk among themselves.
"So, are you guys pumped for class?" Kirishima asked as he adjusted his pants. The rest of his classmates did not look as enthusiastic, judging by the odd looks he received.
"Is anyone else bothered that the new teacher happens to be a vigilante? I mean, I'm thankful for him for saving us back at USJ, but he has that very... ominous vibe that I don't exactly trust." Sero voiced his concern as he equipped his helmet. The majority of the boys nodded their heads, understanding evident at their reactions.
"I know, but Silver-sensei is manly! trust him," Kirishima shouted, flexing his biceps while doing a few stretches in his costume."
Ojiro finished putting on his gear before he jumped into the conversation. "Okay, let's be honest here. He may be a vigilante, but think of it as a different perspective."
Iida, who was already dressed in his hero suit, was not as comfortable with the idea of a vigilante being their teacher. "I'm not too pleased with him being here. You saw how disrespectful he was to Aizawa-sensei and All Might-sensei." Iida lectured, his hands moving robotically, just as always.
Ojiro sighed and contemplated Iida's remark. "That may be so, but think of it as like this; we won't get along with everyone we work with." Tenya couldn't do much but accept that Silver would teach them, whether he liked it or not. "His mysterious aura is truly a sight to behold," Tokoyami stated when he finished putting on his cape.
Bakugou, however, was fuming and pissed. "I can't believe it... that fucking geezer... tore me down... tore ME down…" He grumbled out while adjusting his gauntlets.
Shoto was fixing his boots as he thought about the new teacher. 'This Silver character is more infamous than I thought. Just what did he do to get under the entire faculty's skin? Terror? Beating them at their own game? Humiliating them? There could be several reasons. But… it's best to not dwell on it now.' He closed that line of thought and focused on his current task.
Mineta, being the small and fragile person he is, was shaking like a leaf. "I'm going to write my will... in a minute, I can't believe I'm going to die a virgin…" a few of his classmates looked at him with raised eyebrows.
"That's what you're worried about?" Asked Shoji, completely baffled.
While the rest of his classmates were arguing and chattering, Izuku had his thoughts. "He knows what I'm missing…" he murmured to himself. He took a moment to glance around at the rest of his classmates and had overheard some of their conversations. "Everyone seems conflicted with Silver being here. Even though he knows the secret to One for All, can he still be trusted?"
It was not a question for the others but one for himself.
X-|Girls Locker Room |-X
It was mostly quiet at the girls' side until Jiro spoke up as she adjusted her jacket. "I'm not too sure about the new teacher."
Toru, who finished putting on her gloves, 'looked' at Jiro. "What makes you say that?" she asked innocently. Taking a deep breath, she gave her thoughts on the new teacher. "To be honest, I feel that he's hiding something," Jiro responded.
"I trust him, kero," Tsu said as she finished putting on her goggles. "He saved me from that hand villain before he could touch me. "Plus, he helped heal Aizawa-sensei and Thirteen." Momo added her own opinion to the conversation. "That may be true, but…."
"He saved two heroes; I think that should be enough to prove he's not too bad," interjected Ochako. Mina had a smirk on her face, "Plus, he did give us some dirt on Aizawa-sensei with that funny nickname." Toru giggled, remembering their teacher's unfortunate nickname. Momo and Jiro were not sure which route to take, but Jiro had a moment to think. "Alright, I'll give Gramps a shot. He's definitely more laidback compared to Aizawa-sensei." Momo saw how most of the group were giving Silver a chance; she might also give him one. After all, they do owe him for saving them."Alright. I will see what he can do to help us become better heroes." With that being said, the girls of 1-A headed out of the locker room to meet up for the rest of the class.
X-|Gym Beta|-X
Everyone walked to their destination. As soon as they reached it, they saw Silver. The old man was sitting dead-center, cross-legged, and most of all, patient. "Well, I read your profiles before the first day, and I have to admit, I'm with an interesting class right now." the old man smirked. "Really, sir?" Asked Shoji, to which Silver nodded. "Yep, a lot of you probably have different backgrounds before coming to U.A, right?" to which most of the class nodded. "Well, we're going to play an old game to see what I'm working with." Silver pulled something out of his back pocket as he revealed a rather odd Jolly Roger.
It had a cartoonish-looking skull with a straw hat on it with crossbones, "Capture the flag?" asked Mina as everyone wondered where this was going. "You got that right, Pinky. However, instead of it being stationary, it's going to be on me," answered Silver. "I'm going to set the ground rules, so you're going to listen carefully.". !-A focused everyone's attention on what their task was. Silver tied the flag to his waist before explaining the rules to them. "The first rule, you can go get the flag either as a team or on your own. Second, destroying or tearing the flag will be an automatic failure for the entire class. And finally, there will be a set time limit for how long you have to get the flag. Any Questions?"
Mineta raised his hand. "So if we get the flag from you, the exercise ends like that?"
"Yep, and afterward, I will let you know what you need to improve on. Next question."
Iida raised his hand."Sir, what would be considered an excessive force for this exercise?"
"Planning to kill or harm your classmates or me." Silver answered.
Most of the class flinched at how blunt he was for what was considered "excessive force' during the exercise. "I heard about a previous incident from the lug, and I'm not going to have a repeat of it." Upon hearing this, most of 1-A were rather sheepish about which incident he was referring to. "Oi, no need to act like that; however, any more questions before we start?" No one seemed to speak up. "Well, in that case, You will have 3 minutes to take the flag from me. Starting right now."

With the clock running, the first to act is Bakugo as he takes a swing at Silver. "Die!" shouted Bakugo, but just like last time, Silver sidestepped out of the way and started to move much faster than anyone expected. "Well, I'm waiting." Taunted Silver. Soon everyone made their charge in chasing him. Thinking quickly, Momo made a pair of bolas with her Quirk. She spun them around for it to pick up momentum and threw the pair at her new teacher. 'It should catch him by surprise!' she thought to herself, seeing the pair of bolas flying toward him. Without looking, Silver grabbed the flying trap and launched it back toward the group. The bolas soon entangled Ochako as it bound her arms and legs before letting out a cute 'eep' and fell to the ground. "Sorry, Uraraka!" Momo shouted as she ran over to her fallen classmate to untangle her. "It's alright, Yaomomo," Ochako responded while Momo made a knife to cut her free.
Mineta was looking at the bound Ochako, and unfortunately, he didn't watch where he was running as he crashed into Sero as Silver went the opposite direction from where he's running. "What the hell Mineta?!" Shouted Sero as they both tumbled to the ground. Tokoyami took the chance to summon Dark Shadow to catch the flag. "Get the flag, Dark Shadow!" Demanded Tokoyami sending out his sentient Quirk at Silver. "You got it, Fumikage!" said Dark Shadow. The living shadow kept swiping at Silver to get the flag, but he kept dodging each swipe. "Those swipes of yours are pretty telegraphed and easy to see coming once you get the pattern." Silver jumped and used Dark Shadow as a makeshift springboard before using Tokoyami as a stepping stone. Sero, after getting up, dashed Silver. "Time to wrap this up!" He let loose his tape as it made a beeline toward the vigilante. Silver smirked before making a sharp turn and ran toward the chasing group.
Tenya, who led the charge, was stunned to see Silver jump over the class. "How athletic is-" The speedster was cut off as tape soon wrapped him up. He was also not the only one to be caught by the tape trap. "Damn it, Sero!" Jiro screamed as she was bound with Mina and Tsu as all three struggled to break free. "My acid should break us out, but it will take some time," Mina remarked as she squirmed. Thinking quickly, Tsu launched her tongue in hopes of grabbing the flag. Sadly she didn't have enough reach to get the flag. "Sorry guys, gero." The frog girl apologized to her classmates for not getting the flag. Before Sero could say anything, Silver made a sharp turn past Sero before shouting. "Watch where you're aiming!" Before Sero could register about the criticism, he soon felt a chill down his spine. Or rather, most of his body up to his neck is covered in ice. Sero shivered and tried to turn his neck the best he could. He can see that Shoto trapped Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sato as well. "Are you kidding me?!" shouted Kaminari while struggling to break free, "Thanks for the help." Sato glaring at Shoto. The bicolor-harried boy could only give a quick bow before he slid after Silver using his ice. Most of 1-A was starting to lose steam bearing Izuku, Shoto, and Bakugo.
"He's much more crafty than I thought," Izuku muttered to himself. Bakugo, already seeing Todoroki getting closer to Silver, was fuming. "YOU MADE ME LOOK LIKE A FOOL, GEEZER!" The explosive blond screamed as he used his quirk to launch himself forward. Thinking quickly, Silver skidded to a halt with Todoroki passing by him and quickly grabbed him by the collar. "Think fast, Firecracker!"Using the moment from Todoroki's charge, he threw the son of the number 2 hero straight at Bakugo. "Firecracker?!" Both boys collide as they crash into a heap with each other. Izuku passed by them as he charged up One for All. "I Just need to-"
Ding-Ding Ding!
(OST Ends)
"Times up." Silver stated as the alarm kept blaring until Silver clicked the button on the timer. "Can someone get me out of the ice, please?!" Kaminari shouted to Shoto as the former quickly unfroze his classmates. Momo quickly made a pair of scissors to cut the tape on her bound classmates. Shoji, Ojiro, Koda, Toru, and Aoyoma collapsed to the ground breathing heavily after catching up with everyone. "What..did we...miss…?" Asked a winded Ojiro with a wheezing Toru gasping for air. "We failed the exercise, Ojiro." Shoto stated bluntly. "W...what...we did?" stammer Shoji as he got his breath back. "Ah, don't beat yourself over this.
"I'm not telling you that you're kicked out." Silver stated as everyone had a sigh of relief. "Now, there are few possibilities you could have done. to get the flag." Silver soon started to list a few examples. "If you ask me, Shoji and Sero should have teamed up. They could have for a two-pronged attack, catching me likely" Both mentioned boys perked up. "Not to mention, Pink could have used her acid as a makeshift oil slick or Frosty using his ice to box me in." Mina blushed slightly while Todoroki had his head down in embarrassment. "Rocker and Sparky would have been able to stun me long enough to be captured. I mean sensory overlord along with being shocked; that's a good combo right there." Jiro and Kaminari sheepishly looked away. "Peach could have made a net and thrown it at me while I made the sharp turns or Float using her quirk on one of her classmates and launched them straight at me. The possibilities are endless with what you could have done." Momo blushed while Ochako had stars in her eyes at the off-hand compliment as everyone soon heard their new teacher's final thoughts. "But hey, this is Day One. I know your strengths and shortcomings as of this exercise."
"Umm... I'm conflicted but thank you for pointing it out." Tenay said as he bowed to Silver, the latter giving a raised eyebrow. "Why are you conflicted, Daytona?" Asked Silver.
"Maybe it's because you're a vigilante, but you showed off far more wisdom than I thought."
"Sure, let's go with that. Any other questions?"
None of the students had any questions from this point as they had everything answered. "Well, you can get going now. I'll see you kids the next day." With that, Silver dismissed them as the Heroes in training chatted with each other.
"Damn, Silver-sensei is manly!" Said Kirishima as he stretched his arms out. Shoji looked at the hot-blooded teen with a raised eyebrow. "He's much more unpredictable than we thought." Mina was giddy with excitement from the first lesson. "I really like the nicknames he gave some of us!" Jiro played with her jacks with her finger. As she added in her own two cents, "I get the feeling that the old man will make things more exciting. He deftly makes things here a bit more exciting." Momo, while still wary of Silver, was excited herself to learn from him. "I do agree he does make learning more exciting as well."
"Still, his learning style is pretty unorthodox, gero." Tsu commented while having her finger touch her chin. Ochako had a bit of bounce in her step. "You think we'll be better Heroes with Silver, Deku?" Ochako asked Izuku. Izuku blushed before shaking his head. "Uhh, yeah, I think we will." He smiled back as Ochako ran up with the rest of the class. Now Izuku had a moment to think to himself. "Just where will you take everyone with these lessons?"
And with that, this chapter draws to a close and I would like to thank everyone who has helped with beta reading and giving me some pointers. Stay safe everyone.
