Chapter 27 – Reunions.
I'm back!
Tori's POV
After Jade had left, I sat there in for several minutes. Left alone with my thoughts and the almost tomb like silence of the cabin, I reflected on all that had transpired since Jade had first asked me out. During that time, I concluded that I was correct in not pushing things too far, by deciding against asking Jade to shower with me. We're still on too shaky ground to get ahead of ourselves.
I had no idea how long Jade would stay in her bedroom. But I suspected I'd be alone for a couple hours at least. So, I got up, got dressed as a I was still wearing a bathrobe and made myself a sandwich. As I ate my lunch, I could see it was shaping up to be a nice day. After lunch I decided to relax on the patio a bit.
Jade had put away the patio furniture before the storm came yesterday, so I pulled it all back out, sat down and started to read. As I read, I could hear the distant roar of chainsaws, rumbling across the valley. I guessed the storm had knocked down some trees and people were busy cleaning up the mess left behind. The bright sunny afternoon slowly dragged and before I knew it, over 3 hours had passed.
I couldn't help but worry a bit about Jade. Was she Ok? I could knock on her door and ask, but I had to go on faith with this one. She needed some space and time alone and I needed to respect that. On the back patio, there was a hot tub and after a while it looked a bit inviting. So changed into my bathing suit, pulled off the cover and fired it up. The water was warm, the bubbles tingly and it was even more relaxing. After a time, I'm not sure how long, I was laying back a bit in the hot tub with my eyes closed. I then heard a sound behind me, as if someone was coming across the patio.
I felt a brief moment of apprehension, and the image of the hot tub death from Halloween 2 briefly floated through my mind.
I turned round and looked. It was Jade of course, who was standing about 2 feet away. She looked a bit disheveled and there was a slightly worn look in her eyes. For about 30 full seconds stared at me, not speaking.
"You Ok? You were in there for a while, seems like was almost two and half years" I was trying to be funny, but that was one of those things that I regretted saying almost immediately.
"I didn't realize there was a time limit." Quipped Jade Acidly, after a few more seconds of staring.
"Sorry, I probably shouldn't have said that. A poor attempt at humor. You were entitled to take as much time as you wanted. Hope you don't mind I fired up the hot tub."
Walking up to the hot tub, she briefly put her hand on my head and with an evil smirk, started to push my head under water. Thankfully, for me at least, she quickly released me.
"To answer your first question Vega. I am fine now. Sorry about that outburst, if that's what you want to call it, earlier."
"No, apology needed."
After clearing her throat, Jade then spoke in a very matter of fact tone of voice. "Maybe not, but an explanation is at least in order. With all that happened the last few days, that was a lot already, then while my mother was laying it on me, you wrapped your arms around me, made me feel safe and strong and gave me the strength to stand up to my mother for the first time in years. Not just that, but I really felt something special growing between us. At that moment, I guess I just overloaded emotionally. I'm sorry I pushed you away and hid for a while, but I needed time to process it all. If I didn't, I was liable to either do or say something I'd really regret. You didn't do anything wrong, in fact you did absolutely everything right."
She paused for a moment than said with a faraway look. "The mighty Jade, who was done in by a simple hug and a few words of encouragement."
What she said was very touching and I couldn't help but smile. "You say that like it's a bad thing."
Jade leaned and, in my ear, whispered ever so softly. "Not on your life Vega."
Feeling a tingle, and once again very touched I turned and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. After a moment, she returned the favor and kissed me back. It was a tender moment and I found myself wanting to stay in it forever.
A moment later, she broke the kiss. "Hope you have a nice dress, I'm taking you out to the most expensive restaurant in these parts, The Hilltop club. I have a 6:30 reservation for 2 under the name Walkerblack. You're getting the most expensive thing on the menu, like it or not."
"You've got a date, but in the meantime, get your ass in this hot tub."
"Yes my rather bossy queen." Said Jade as she went into the house.
Jade changed into a black one piece swimsuit and joined me in the hot tub. She cuddled up next to me and we talked. We drifted from subject to subject, my work, our friends, movies. After all we'd been through, I found that the conversation came easy and with both enjoyed ourselves.
When the time came, we got dressed and drove to the restaurant. Arriving I could tell it was a rather expensive place decorated in an art deco style overlooking a large lake. I noticed that the parking lot was filled with expensive cars.
We had arrived at the restaurant early for our reservation, so we moved into the bar to wait until our table was ready.

As the girls waited, Tori decided do some people watching and looked around the restaurant. Most of the people looked like various wealthy people that owned some of the larger vacation homes that dotted the area.
Looking into the dining room, Tori spotted something that really caught her attention. It was a beautiful woman, wearing an expensive blue dress with white polka dots. She was dining with a man about her age. But it wasn't the dress that really caught Tori's attention. She then quickly nudged Jade.
"Hey Jade. You've heard that everyone has a twin out there somewhere, right?" Said Tori with a rather amused look.
"Yeah, so what."
Tori pointed towards a table in the center of the dining room the woman and man were seated. "Yours is over there."
"What are you babbling about." Said Jade as she turned her gaze toward the table and as she saw the couple, her eyes immediately bugged out.
"FUCK! She's here."
"Who's here?"
"Fallon Carrington." Cursed Jade. "Evil, self-absorbed, egotistical, arrogant, hell queen of the Carrington family."
"I take it you don't like her."
"NO!"
"Who is she, other that the hell queen of the Carrington family."
"My cousin. 3rd cousin, I think. My family and her family used to be the same family a while back. Their half of the family got the oil and my half of the family got the railroads and real estate."
"But why do you hate her so much in particular. It's much more than normal amount of hate you have for everyone else."
"Really Funny Vega. You see when I was 8, my mom took me to this big party where both our and their family were going to be. It was at some big mansion in the Hamptons in New York. One of the few times the families got together. Also, one of the few times I did something with my mom. For reasons I don't quite understand she got me a black dress. One I actually liked. So, I get to this party, meet everyone, all my cousins and it was not too horrible, not all that great either. Only when I got to meet Fallon, who was a couple years older than me, it went downhill. Fallon took one look at me and said, your dress is ugly and you look like a toad. Then she told all the other cousins, that she saw me picking my nose and none of them would talk to me. I was humiliated."
"Why did she do that?"
"Because she's evil, that's why."
"And you're not?"
"Shut up Vega." Said Jade as she grabbed Tori's hand. "Come on, lets go out to the parking lot and key her car. I can finally get my revenge."
"She looks so much like you; the resemblance is uncanny"
"She doesn't look anything like me!" Hissed Jade. "I'm much prettier"
"So she humiliates you when you're 8 and after all these years, you still want revenge?" Tori then lightly slapped herself on the forehead. " What am I thinking, your Jade, of course you want revenge? How would you know which car is hers anyway?"
"It's guaranteed to be the most expensive one in the lot, come on."
Tori looked at Fallon, who was giving the waitress a hard time about something and thought for a moment. "Who's that dining with her?"
"Her brother Steven. He's a nitwit. Come on."
Tori stopped Jade from leaving. "You really want to get her back?"
"Yes"
"And this would make you happy?"
"My god yes!"
A wry smile came to Tori's lips. "Because I have a better idea."
"What are you going to do, walk in there and punch her in the face?"
That crack, earned Jade a rather evil glare from Tori. "As much as you'd like to see that. No." Tori then pulled out her phone. "What is the phone number of this restaurant?"
Jade glanced at a menu that was sitting on the bar nearby, with the address and phone number on the front, 555-2368."
Tori smiled and kissed Jade on the cheek. "Stay still my sweet, I'm going outside for a moment."
Slightly puzzled, Jade watched as Tori walked outside onto a nearby patio and dialed her phone. Then she turned her attention to the Maître D who had just answered the phone as soon as Tori dialed hers. Jade could see what she guessed was Tori talking to the Maître D over the phone for about a minute then hung up. Tori then walked back into the bar.
"It's done." Said Tori looking rather pleased with herself.
"What's done." Growled Jade impatiently.
Tori smiled and gave Jade a small kiss. "Just wait and watch."
Not sure what Tori could do with a simple phone call, Jade turned her attention to Fallon and Steven. Something in the back of Jade's mind, told her to pull out her phone, which she did. Looking over at Tori, she could see her date was casually sipping her soda and smiling.
Tori then pointed towards the dining room. "Oooh. It's happening!"
Jade abruptly turned her attention to dining room, only to see the Maître D, walk into the center of the dining room and loudly clear his throat.
"Attention Diners at the Hilltop club, I have an announcement." Said the Maître D loudly, "We have a couple here who are celebrating a very special and happy occasion tonight. Not only are they celebrating their 1st wedding anniversary they've just found out their expecting their first child."
Jade briefly turned to Tori with a rather puzzled expression. "What did you do Vega?"
"Just watch"
The maître D paused briefly then continued speaking. "So let us congratulate the happy couple with a big round of applause, on not only their anniversary but the fact that they're having a baby, Congratulations to STEVEN AND FALLON CARRINGTON" He then pointed out Fallon and Steven to the people in the dining room.
Jade, who had been filming her hated cousin and all the while, during the announcement, Jade could see Fallon was barely paying attention and concentrating more on her salad.
But Fallon, upon hearing her and Steven named as the Happy and now expecting couple did three things. First she began to choke on a mini tomato that she had been eating. Second she coughed the tomato up onto the plate in a rather un-lady like manner. Third, now in absolute shock, Fallon then stood up looking more mortified and embarrassed then Jade had ever seen anyone look in her whole life. In fact Fallon's face turned ghostly white with a mixture of horror, embarrassment and shock. Steven, just sat there with a dumb and somewhat surprised look, frozen on his face.
Fallon at first vainly protested, but it seems no one could hear her over the applause in her and Stevens honor. That only further intensified her embarrassment. Finally, Fallon who was now very flustered shouted. "No, no, no. it's not right, STOP CLAPPING he's my brother, no I'm not married to him, STOP CLAPPING, And I'm not having my brother's baby. STOP CLAPPING."
By now the applause had come to a screeching halt as Fallon, grabbed her brother arm and said. "We're leaving now!"
As Fallon yanked her rather paralyzed brother across the dining room, a man who looked like he had a bit much to drink shouted. "We know who wears the pants in their relationship. I hope it's a boy!"
At that point, the dining room broke out into rolls of laughter, which caused Fallon who had been already utterly humiliated, to scream. Seconds later, she pulled her brother out of the restaurant and moments after that, Jade could see an expensive Porsche burn rubber out of the parking lot.
For a moment, Jade stood there with huge grin on her face. She then turned and kissed Tori right on the lips, then hugged her "Oh my god Vega. That was brilliant. She was utterly humiliated."
Tori shrugged. "I just called and told the restaurant about the happy occasion and how fun it would be to let everyone know. I wasn't sure if was going to work"
Jade jumped and down like an excited child on Christmas day. "It did, oh my fucking god, it did. You fucking destroyed her. That was beautiful." Jade then looked down at her phone." Oh my god. I have it on video." Jade then furiously started to hit a series of buttons on her phone.
"What are you doing Jade?"
"Uploading this to my anonymous YouTube account. With the caption. "Fallon Carrington denies she's having her brothers' baby, true/false, you decide. Mustn't forget to tag Fallon Carrington, Blake Carrington, Steven Carrington, Carrington Atlantic, Fallon Unlimited, Alexis Carrington Colby and let's not forget Liam Ridley. That's her fiancé." Finally hitting a button Jade jumped for joy. "Uploaded. Now who looks like a fucking toad Fallon! I win you stupid wench"
Tori briefly felt bad for completely humiliating two people she had never lay eyes on before tonight, but upon seeing the look of sheer Joy on Jade's face, she suddenly felt very warm and tingly inside.
Jade then rather excitedly hugged Tori again, followed by a very passionate kiss. "You're fucking wonderful Vega. Come on let's blow this pop stand before someone recognizes me. Can't have her finding out too quickly."
"What about dinner?"
"Come on, there's a bar a bout a mile from here with killer pizza and a great juke box. Game?"
Tori smiled and took Jade's hand. "Game!"
It's been a while, and I thank all of you nice people for your patience. Like many I'm out of work and at home, so I had time to work on this chapter. Probably one or two chapters left at most.
I've never seen Dynasty, but I do remember reading that Liz Gillies said that she didn't think Jade and Fallon would like each other, so I went with that.
