Chapter 9: The Cavalry

Review Replies

Knightmare Lord: I look forward to seeing Izumi and Katsuki humbling Shoto and Monoma.

Dragon Emperor0: As do we.

ThermalsniperN7: Yeah.

Joanne Frances Tiano Cajilig: I love this story so much! I can see the pairings already in class A, not B yet. Will Katsuki join her team so no one touches what's his? Will mei join to get noticed by the support companies? Is Mei going to grope izumi? Here's an oral position I want to read izumi giving Katsuki; like a back blow job, Jack hammer blow job and standing 69…

Dragon Emperor0: Due to creative changes and reevaluations on our end (and a crisis of faith on mine) we probably won't go into anything explicit. Just a heads up. Limes are still on the table as well as T rated stuff. But even then it'll be reduced in the case of the former.

ThermalsniperN7: Exactly.

SuperShadic2002: Shoto. Shoto run. Run Shoto. You have made a mistake, brother, may the gods have mercy on your soul, because she won't. Good work, guys, made me laugh.

Dragon Emperor0: As George Washington would say: You ain't lyin'.

ThermalsniperN7: *In my best Zavala impression* Indeed.

Dragon Emperor0: *Sign of the cross* Rest in Peace, Lance.

Izumi facepalmed as she realized that her choice to come in first place in the obstacle race absolutely backfired–it just put a massive target on her ass. Which was saying something because her ass was big as it was already.

'This is not my day…' She groaned mentally in exasperation.

"So you're at the top, huh?" Katsuki purred. "Sounds like I need to show you who's boss." He growled.

"I'm already feeling anxious, Kacchan. I don't need that right now." The Serpent Sin sighed.

"Who said I was talking about the game?" The blonde stated nonchalantly, before he smacked her on the ass as he went to listen to the direction of the games.

(Later)

After Midnight explained the rules of the game, she allowed everyone to begin assembling their teams. The problem for Izumi, however, was that she couldn't seem to find anyone.

They were all avoiding her due to her high point value.

"Damn it…" The girl growled, feeling frustrated about her current situation.

"Hey Bakugo, how come you're not teaming up with Midoriya?" Kirishima asked as he, Mina and Sero were joining with the pomeranian for the game.

"Just because we're dating doesn't mean we're together for everything, and this gives me an excuse to see what she can do in a setting like this." The bomber explained in reply.

"I think you just don't wanna be your girlfriend's bottom." Mina chuckled.

"Shut up." The blonde retorted.

With Izumi…

"Damn it, who am I supposed to team up with…?!" She groaned in dismay.

"Hey Izumi!" A voice said behind her, causing the girl to nearly leap out of her skin.

"AAAAAAH!" She yelled as she jumped into the air. When she had a grip on her racing heart, she turned and gave an indignant look at the speaker. "Damn it, Ochako, don't do that!" She told her friend.

"Sorry!" The brunette apologized. "But you wanna team up?" She questioned.

"Oh my fucking goodness thank you! Yes I do!" The verdette sighed in relief. "Now I just gotta find two more people…" She sighed as she turned… And was greeted by a pair of goggled eyes, making her jump in surprise. "AAAAAAAH IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN!" She screamed, jumping into Ochako's arms.

"Team up with me, person in first place!" The girl in front of her said.

"Why should I, after how you scared me like that?!" Izumi snapped in response.

"Because I have gadgets you can't turn down!" The pink haired girl told her as she brought out a case from… Somewhere, and opened it, showing its contents. "I intend to use you to my personal advantage, and I'll use my marvelous and adorable babies to help us achieve victory!" She added as Izumi and Ochako looked over the gadgets.

"Hang on, this symbol…" Izumi mused as she looked at one of the tools and then at Gideon, her hammer–and saw that it had the same symbol on the grip, a gear with a crosshair in the center. "You're the one who helped make my Sacred Treasure!" She added.

"Nice to see it's serving you well." The support course girl nodded in confirmation. "Name's Mei Hatsume, by the way." She added.

"Well, it's not like we have many options." Ochako noted. "Iida turned us down and went to Todoroki's team." She added.

"Which means we still need one more." The verdette mused before she spotted the ideal fourth member for her team. Nodding to herself, she approached her target and put a hand on their shoulder. "Be on my team." She told them.

(Later)

Izumi mounted the shoulders of her team and pulled on her headband.

"Hope you guys are ready, Ochako, Hatsume, Tokoyami." The giantess said as they got ready.

"I'm ready." Ochako nodded.

"My name will be known!" Mei grinned eagerly.

"None shall surpass us." Tokoyami declared.

Then, the game began, and every single team was heading straight for Izumi and her team.

"You guys are wasting your time." The girl sighed, right before she started twirling her hammer and slammed it into the ground, causing the floor of the stadium to shake. "Southern Plateau!" She called.

The entire field then shifted, turning itself into a turf covered plateau. This made getting around difficult since the ground was uneven in various places. And on top of the new terrain was a giant rock table, where they were out of most everyone's reaches.

"What." Class A gasped.

"The." Class B uttered.

"HELL?!" The entirety of the crowd yelled.

"D-D-Did Midoriya just turn the whole field into a plateau?!" Present Mic gasped in actual shock.

"It's like I said before, Midoriya's Sacred Treasure lets her pull off some crazy kind of moves." Aizawa nodded. "But this just seems ridiculous." He admitted.

"Wow. I don't think anyone can get up here without flying and risking losing the whole battle." Ochako blinked in amazement.

"That is the plan." Izumi nodded.

Meanwhile back with Katsuki, he was having a Mexican standoff with the class 1-B teams, and he was keeping them at bay by using the heat aura Sunshine gave him–as well as blocking his sides with his four goddess wings.

"Damn it, we can't get near him because of that heat!" Monoma growled. "And we can't go after the first place spot because they're on top of that plateau!" He added.

"Good." Katsuki grinned as he conjured a Cruel Sun. "Because if you so much as laid a finger on Izumi, well, let's just say that UA would be short a class." He added.

"That's not very heroic, but it is your girlfriend, so…" Kirishima shrugged.

"You really don't fit in here at all." Monoma spat. "Honestly, you constantly threaten people with violence, try to kill people, and you don't care about anyone but yourself." He continued. "So stop pretending! You're not a hero! Hell, you probably just keep Midoriya around for your own personal pleasure! There's no way someone so selfish and self centered could ever love anyone!" He taunted, pointing at the blonde.

"And what would some weak little peon like you know?!" Katsuki snapped back. "Maybe the reason you're not in Class A is because of how much of a condescending little shit you are! I've known Izumi my whole life, and I'd gladly take any hit meant for her! You know nothing of the relationship we have, you inferior, weak-willed little runt!" He yelled.

The blonde then made his team charge forward and start attacking the teams in unison, his gaze furious from Monoma's words. He was not going to let some little punk besmirch him or his woman–he was so dead.

One of Momoma's teammates tried to set up a solid air barrier, but it melted (wow, that's weird to envision) from the heat. No matter how many times he tried, the barriers just melted.

"DIE!" The explosive teen roared as he sent an explosion at the group and snagged their headbands while they were all distracted—before turning to the other Class B teams. "C'mere!" He growled.

Meanwhile, back with Izumi and her team, they were currently taking a moment to regroup now that they were out of everyone's reach.

However, this respite from the competition was unfortunately short lived—as a large hill of ice started rising to the top of their plateau—until they were face to face with Shoto and his team.

"I'll be taking that headband now." The two toned boy told the girl and her team.

"Let's agree to disagree." Izumi retorted. "Think you can handle a fight on a plateau?" She challenged.

"Now there's a fun sounding dance." Kaminari smirked.

"You won't think so in a second." Izumi said as she readied Gideon again.

"Kaminari, get ready to attack." Shoto prompted as Momo started making some insulation.

"Tokoyami!" The Serpent Sin barked, knowing what was about to happen.

"Right!" The bird headed teen nodded.

"Hope you got something strong, Yaoyorozu!" The human pikachu exclaimed. "Indiscriminate Shock! 1.3 Million Volts!" He yelled.

"Thunder Rod!" Izumi intoned as she pointed Gideon in front of Dark Shadow and absorbed the electric shock—before redirecting it at Shoto's team—and allowing Dark Shadow an opportunity to attack whilst they were off balance.

"Whoa!" Iida yelped as he steered the team around, mentally thanking Momo for coming up with the idea of using roller skates or this would've been harder.

"Since when can she do that?!" The rich girl gasped in surprise.

"Metal is a natural conductor. And any energy you can't absorb, you deflect." The giantess stated. "It's simple physics, really." She shrugged.

"Seems we have the high ground, so to speak." Tokoyami noted.

"My turn." Izumi smirked as she slammed her hammer on the ground, causing four rocks to float up and await her command. "Take this!" She yelled, sending them flying at Shoto—who blocked it with an ice wall.

They did come close to breaking through, however, since rock was tougher than ice. If it wasn't, then Antarctica would've sunk.

"Everyone." Iida said, getting his team's attention. "Our time is now woefully limited. So I have a plan for how we can try to get their headband before time is up." He told them.

"What is it?" The fire-ice user questioned.

"I can use my quirk for a large boost of speed, hitting 300 miles per hour for a split second." The speedster explained. "It will make my engines stall, however, so we need to make it count." He added. This made Kaminari's eyes widen.

"Wait, we can't!" The blonde interjected in alarm.

"Why not?" Shoto questioned.

"Look at where we are, and where Midoriya's team is positioned! If Iida takes us forward at that speed and can't stop in time, we'll fall off the plateau!" He told his team.

"He's right! We'll live, but we'll be too injured from the fall to continue!" Momo gasped in realization.

"And I don't have enough control to stop us in time!" The class rep hissed, seeing that the plan was doomed to failure in this setting.

"Not unless I redirect us with an ice ramp." Shoto pointed out.

"... You're absolutely sure you can react in time?" Iida asked.

"It's worth a try." The two toned boy nodded.

Izumi, meanwhile, didn't like that her opponents were scheming like that. So, she decided to get proactive.

"Here we go!" Iida yelled. "Torque overload!" He yelled as he zoomed forward. "Recipro—WHOA!" He yelled as his team blasted at blinding speeds, but suddenly started to lose balance and nearly fall over if it hadn't been for Momo anchoring them.

"What the heck… happened?" Kaminari groaned, shaking his head before he noticed something. "Uh, why does the ground feel like rubber?" He questioned, doing a few test stomps and noticed that the hard ground sprung back.

"That's because it is!" Izumi called. "Welcome to the Rubber Field!" She shouted with a smirk of teenage cockiness.

"Iida, are your engines still working after that slip?" Shoto asked

"No. The slip threw me off and now my engines are stalled." The speedster sighed in reply.

Sure enough, they were. Thanks to Izumi turning to the ground to a rubber-like state, she had thrown him off enough for Iida to miss his mark. Now Shoto's team was dead in the water.

"Alright guys, get ready. We're going to take these guys out of the running." Izumi told her team. "Tokoyami? Hatsume? If you would." She told the two.

"Roger that!" The two in question nodded in response. The two then launched themselves forward to send things more their way.

However, as Izumi readied herself to break Shoto's defenses with OFA, the boy suddenly blocked her with his left side—which she sent back with a swipe of her hand.

Izumi noted the brief flicker of the embers of a fire, which made her arch an eyebrow.

'What's up with that?' She wondered, but shrugged it off for the time being.

'My left side! What am I doing?!' Shoto thought as he became distracted.

However, instead of swiping a headband, Izumi instead took the opportunity to lock Shoto and his team down with rock structures that held them in place.

"Aw man, now we're stuck!" Kaminari complained.

"Hey, you're the ones who just couldn't leave well enough alone." Izumi told them. "Not my fault that you're all so hell bent on winning like you have something to prove." She shrugged, sighing.

'Fighting an earthbender in their domain… What was I thinking?!' Shoto thought, mentally berating himself for making such an oversight.

Though before the greenette's team could relax, Katsuki came launching out of nowhere from ground level while using his wings to steer—and was heading straight for them!

"Heeeere's daddy!" Katsuki called as he rocketed towards them, blasting another explosion behind him.

Before he could reach Izumi, however…

"TIME'S UP!" Present Mic announced, causing Katsuki to falter and hit the ground… And bounce on it because it was still rubber.

"... What the?" The pomeranian haired boy blinked as he banged his fist on the ground a couple of times and saw it bounce like rubber. "Okay, that's actually pretty weird." He muttered… before he smacked it and watched it jiggle. "Heh, it's just like Izumi: it doesn't quit." He chuckled.

Meanwhile, with Shoto's team…

"I should've known that fighting Izumi on solid ground would be foolish!" Iida lamented. "Everything made of rock in general is basically her domain; She had the advantage the whole time!" He groaned.

"We should have frozen it over." Shoto nodded. "But I was too narrow minded, I didn't even think of that." He sighed.

"Man, this sucks…" Kaminari groaned.

"Yes, this was a rather one sided fight…" Momo sighed.

(Later)

It was after the Cavalry Battle and everyone was taking a quick lunch break before the next game was announced.

But in a darkened hallway, Izumi had been pulled to the side by Shoto—something that the giantess didn't like, she didn't like being grabbed by other guys.

"I don't like being grabbed by other guys, so say whatever you want to say before I decide to punch you and leave." The girl hissed.

"You forced me to use my left side, so I think we're even there." Shoto retorted.

"Forced you to?" The Serpent Sin questioned. "You have a fire side and an ice side. Why on god's green earth would you kneecap yourself by using only half your power?" She continued. "What kind of dumb reason would you have to do that?" She added.

"There's a story to that." Shoto told her. "But first, Midoriya, tell me something." He said. "You and All Might are pretty close. And it has me wondering." He continued. "Are you actually All Might's secret love child or something? Or a niece? Cousin maybe?" He added.

"None of the above." The girl deadpanned. "I can kinda understand where you're coming from, given how strong I am, but I share no genetic relation to All Might." She told him.

"I see." The two toned boy nodded. "My father is a top hero you see." He continued. "What do you know of the number 2 hero, Endeavor?" He questioned.

"What about him?" The Serpent Sin queried with a raised eyebrow.

"My old man's ambitious. He always wanted to be the Number One hero by proving that he's the strongest. But as you can probably guess, All Might is living proof of his failure." Shoto explained. "So, he decided to settle on a plan B." He continued. "Midoriya, do you know anything about quirk marriages?" He questioned.

"Yeah. A few rich families tried to arrange one with me once or twice." Izumi nodded. "I shot them down, of course. There's only one man I'll ever even consider marrying." She added.

"I'm the result of one such marriage." The two toned boy told her. "Knowing my father, he'd push to have you married to me." He added.

"I'll turn him down just like I did all the others. Like I said, I'm spoken for." Izumi scoffed.

"Of that I have no doubt." Shoto shrugged. "But back to the point; My father wasn't content with being number 2, but couldn't get the number 1 position like he wanted. So he made a quirk marriage with my mother. After several "tries," I was born." He explained. "Then, when I was old enough, he started putting me through "training" to make me his heir." He continued.

"Except, if I'm reading this right, it was some twisted form of abuse." Izumi interjected flatly.

"You'd be correct." The boy confirmed with a nod. "It wasn't just me, though. He abused my mother—my siblings—too, and when it caused her mind to snap, she poured boiling hot water onto the left side of my face, hence the scar." He continued, gesturing to the burn scar on the left side of his face. "After that, my old man took her to a mental hospital so she couldn't damage his "perfect creation" any further." He finished.

"Well that sounds traumatic." The giantess stated as she crossed her arms under her chest. "But I fail to see how I fit into your personality family BS." She continued. "I'm just a girl who wants to be a hero. Not some woman shaped therapy doll for you to dish on." She added as she started turning away. "You wanna get back at your dad? Fine. But don't bring me into it." She concluded, turning and walking away.

Unknown to both of them, Katsuki was around the corner and heard the whole thing. He had half a mind to barge right up to Shoto and tell him to back off, but that stopped being an idea when the two toned boy shared his backstory. When he asked if Izumi was related to All Might, Katsuki… Partly understood why he'd ask that.

With how strong his girlfriend was, a question like that was to be expected.

Back with Izumi, the girl couldn't help but feel insulted by how Shoto was projecting his feelings towards his dad onto him—it really pissed her off.

As she went to grab some food with the other girls after meeting up with them to get her mind off it, Kaminari and Mineta approached them.

"Hey girls, we found out about something you might wanna know." The electric blonde began.

"And what would that be?" Izumi questioned as she drank some water.

"There's supposed to be a cheer battle later after lunch so the girls are all wearing those cheerleading outfits." Mineta said, jabbing a thumb towards a group of girls. "So we were going to let you know in case you forgot." He added with a shrug.

"… Katsuki would definitely have a nosebleed if he saw me in that." The giantess noted idly.

"You're seriously considering this?!" Jiro hissed at her.

"Why not? It sounds like fun!" Toru smiled.

"Yeah, let's do it!" Mina nodded.

"I'm into it." Izumi shrugged.

(Later)

Later on, the kids all gathered around to hear what the finals were, and sure enough—the girls of Class A came out in cheerleading outfits.

"I'll burn this image into my brain." Kaminari nodded, committing the look of Jiro's outfit to memory. 'So cute.' He thought.

Katsuki, meanwhile…

"HOLY SHIT SHE'S HOOOOT!" The explosive boy yelled with comically wide eyes and a nosebleed as he looked at Izumi.

"Called it." The giantess grinned as she walked over to her boyfriend and made sure that she and the other girls were on screen.

"God you have no idea how badly I wanna manhandle you right now." The Pomeranian said as the girl stood in front of him.

"Good." The greenette grinned before she did something that shocked everyone that was watching—she grabbed her boyfriend by the collar and pulled him to her. "Because I've been wanting to do this since this morning." She added as she smashed her lips to his, right on national television.

(Elsewhere)

In the hideout of one Tomura Shigaraki, he was watching the Sports Festival at the behest of his teacher. When he saw Izumi kiss her apparent boyfriend on national television, he was surprised. No outrage, no hate, just plain ol' surprise.

"Wow. She has guts dressing up like that and making out with her boyfriend on national television." He mused aloud with a blink.

(Elsewhere)

Meanwhile, in the Midoriya and Bakugo households…

"My baby girl's all grown up!" Inko cried… nearly flooding her apartment.

"Well shit, looks like 'zumi has more guts than I gave her credit for." Mitsuki noted.

(Elsewhere)

Back at the stadium…

"And there's your dose of love from the competition, folks!" Present Mix exclaimed with a grin, giving a thumbs up at the two teens.

Izumi then pulled back and watched as Katsuki felt flat on his butt, still dazed from her suddenly locking lips with him like that.

"What a woman…" He sighed as he fell back onto the ground.

Dragon Emperor0: And this is precisely why I will never let myself be near any sort of video or photography if I ever get a girlfriend—stunts like this would be present for posterity.

ThermalsniperN7: Yeah, I'd prefer keeping my relationship with any potential girlfriend as private as possible. National television mishaps aside, Izumi was a genius with that plateau she made.

Dragon Emperor0: Indeed. She most likely took into account what Shoto and his team were capable of as well as everyone else and thought that the best way to counter it was to bring them onto her home turf. Which definitely paid off, all things considered. But what's this about Izumi being the target of several quirk marriage proposals? Just who exactly did she get proposals from?

ThermalsniperN7: I get the feeling we're gonna find out soon. If they're still gunning for her, then they're idiots. Anyway, see you guys next time.
