I had planned on updating earlier today, but I had to go to the doctor due to an allergic reaction to a new medication I was taking. And I didn't sleep well last night so I slept a lot today. Anyway, enjoy this update and I'll be updating daily until Tuesday as I'm off work Monday.

Title: Rewrite the Stars

Chapter 60

(Elizabeth wakes up in the hospital room at General Hospital. She looks around to see Jason resting in a chair by her. Whispers aloud to herself)

Liz: "What happened to me?"

(Jason stirs in the chair and groans a bit before waking up. He sees his girl and offers a smile)

Jason: "Hi, baby."

Liz: "Sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up."

(Jason shakes his head and rubs his eyes before speaking to his love)

Jason: "No, you're fine. I was just resting my eyes."

Liz: "I don't completely remember what happened."

Jason: "You passed out in the basement sub-laboratory. I carried you from there to a bed they brought for you. Terry admitted you as a patient. You were dehydrated and lightheaded because of lack of sleep and lack of fluids."

Liz: (nods) "Okay. That is understandable. Did Terry say how long I would be admitted for?"

Jason: "A day or two so you can get recharged. Just rest so you can get better."

Liz: "What happened to Cyrus?"

Jason: (rolls his eyes) "Dante arrested Cyrus shortly after you passed out even though I didn't call Dante."

Liz: (confused) "Who did?"

Jason: "Monica. I am not the happiest on that."

Liz: "Why? I am sure she was just trying to help."

Jason: (irritated) "I am pissed off at Dante for not believing me when I said you were kidnapped even when there was evidence. He wanted to go by the book."

Liz: "What matters, is that I'm here with you and I'm safe."

Jason: (scoffs) "Yeah, no thanks to Detective Falconeri."

Dante: "Someone say my name?"

(Jason looks at Dante, who just made his appearance. Jason gets more pissed off)

Dante: "Hello, Elizabeth."

Liz: "Dante."

Dante: "How are you doing?"

(Jason cannot take it anymore! He snaps)

Jason: "How the hell do you think she is doing? Look at her! She is in the damn hospital!"

(Dante sighs as he attempts to defend himself against the mob enforcer)

Dante: "Jason, I'm sorry. Please, I was helping as much as I could. I had to go by the book. There was no real evidence."

Liz: "Dante, we know each other well enough that you should know I do not just disappear without a word. Jason knows that, too. I can understand that there may have been no evidence of my kidnapping. BUT, let me ask you this: what did your gut tell you?"

(Dante looks between Jason and Elizabeth to speak, but was drawing a blank. He looks down in shame. They were right)

Dante: "I should have pursued it. I should have left my badge on the table and followed my instincts."

(Elizabeth lowers her head a bit)

Liz: "Which told you what?"

Dante: (sighs) "That something happened to you even though I was trained to go by the book. For that, I am sorry."

Liz: "You can apologize by arresting the culprit."

Dante: (strange face) "We got the culprit."

Liz: (scoffs) "Okay…1) Cyrus was just helping the REAL kidnapper. 2) You and I both know who I am talking about."

Dante: "Sam McCall has an alibi."

Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "Are you sure about that?"

Dante: (sighs) "No, you are right. I need to question another witness."

Jason: "Who?"

Dante: "I am sure you will find out soon enough if you have Spinelli hack into the PCPD database again. You DO know that is illegal, right? I could have you both arrested."

Jason: (scoffs) "I am not saying whether I did that or not. You are worried about THAT when Elizabeth was just kidnapped? If you try questioning me, I will call Diane Miller."

Dante: (scoffs) "I knew you'd say that."

Liz: "Dante, you know damn well Jason will not say a word without Diane. You do not want to tell who the other witness is? Fine. But you better question them." (bit of attitude) "You want to make it up to me? Find proof that it was Sam because I know for a fact that it was her. Also, if you'd really arrest Jason and Spinelli for what you THINK they did without proof, you're not a very good detective."

(Jason couldn't help the smirk from showing on his face at his girls' choice of words at Dante's expense. It was true, though. Dante didn't have a response to Elizabeth's statement because, in all fairness, she was right)

Dante: "I do need to take your statement about what happened to you. Do you feel up to it?"

Liz: "I'll give you my statement tomorrow. I just want to take a nap and then see my boys."

(Dante nods before leaving the room. Jason makes sure the door is shut before smiling proudly at his girl)

Jason: "I don't think I've ever been prouder of you than I am right now. You handled Dante perfectly. You were on fire." (smirks) "Sexy as hell, too."

(Elizabeth can't help but laugh at his words)

Liz: "I love you, too, Morgan. We should call the boys. They would want to know I'm okay."

Jason: "I will call them. But I'll tell them to come in a few hours so you can get some sleep."

Liz: (chuckles) "Are you sure they'll stay away?"

Jason: "After I tell them you passed out and are in the hospital, they'll understand."

(Elizabeth nods in response. Jason kisses her forehead before she drifts off into dreamland)

***PCPD***

(Dante makes a call)

Alexis: "Dante? This is a surprise. What can I do for you?"

Dante: "I have some questions for you based on what Sam said a few days ago."

Alexis: "Can I ask what it's about?"

Dante: "I'll explain when you get here."

(Dante ends the call)

Alexis: "I wonder what Dante knows? Oh, Sam, I have a feeling that you're going to get in a lot of trouble."
