Karry Universe

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Note 1: First off Karry Universe is NOT back; with a little planning I noticed Karry would not be back until January 2020! I Know! So I gave the Facebook page a choice of getting a fluff chapter sooner or not, and they wanted the chapter. So this is a fluff chapter.

Note 2: My beta, Captain Sigma, will be posting the first part of the 2-part CONCLUSION to Karry Prime on Sunday. Please check it out and give him some love by reviewing it; it's an amazing finale.

Also, importantly, this chapter was a song challenge. Meaning I gave the Facebook page a choice of 5 songs and played an elimination game until a song won. I had to write the chapter while the song played twice and the story had to be based on the song. After the song was done, I was allowed to corrected typos but not majorly change. Sigma has also gone over for errors, just in case, but not changed it in anyway. Defying Gravity from Wicked won from the page vote, so enjoy.

Defying Gravity

Kara was at the Star Co.-owned field with Star, Romana, Barry, the girls, and Caitlin was there with Garfield and Jenny.

"Okay Star," Kara said with a smile as she looked at her daughter. "Time to take off on your own." Every time Star had flown Kara had brought her up herself. Being Tamaranean, Star was able to fly but now Kara was teaching her how to take off for real.

"I don't know," Star said, seeming nervous.

"It's okay," Kara said. "I will be right here with you." Kara lifted her feet off the grass, floating up. "Just think. Gravity has no hold on you. You can jump into the air. You can defy it. You're like a bird or a plane - you can fly!"

At that moment Garfield transformed into a bird and flew up into the air, everyone looking up at the shapeshifter. "See, if Garfield can do it so can you," Kara said with a smile. "Just take a deep breath and let yourself go up."

Star closed her eyes as she took a jump into the air. Coming back down and landing on her butt. "Ow..." Star said rubbing her back.

"Good first attempt, but you were nervous. Your species needs to feel it as well," Kara said, knowing a little of Star's species and emotions being connected to powers. There was information in the Fortress, after all. "You can fly. Come on."

Star had confidence in her mother, in Kara, and took another deep breath. Remembering her own biological mother telling her how to fly once too. She had said similar things as Kara.

"I'll be right here," Kara said as Star gently lifted off the ground and flew up.

"Kara, can you get Gar?" Caitlin yelled out to Kara. The little boy still flying around but now Starfire was up in the air with him and she was smiling as she flew around the field. Kara flew up to grab the bird. Garfield turned back into a boy in her arms as Kara brought him back to his mother.

Kara headed to the ground and looking up at her daughter flying overhead. "No fair," Romana said, clearly longing to be able to fly as well - but Daxamites could not fly, even on Earth. Barry now looked sadly at Romana, but said nothing.

"Fly!" Alura yelled out and Nora yelled too. The two girls went to run off, to run around the field, jumping up as high as they could as times. Barry ran around to catch them before finally making them stop and sit with Garfield.

"Look at her," Kara said looking up.

"Our daughter, soaring," Barry said with a smile, putting an arm around Kara. Star didn't even seem to care Kara was on the ground, obviously enjoying flying alone for a bit. Nothing will ever hold our kids back. Barry thought to his wife.

Nothing ever could, Kara thought as well, knowing that for a fact.

"Mama Kara!" Star yelled out. "How do I land without hurting myself?"

Kara laughed. "Okay landing practice time," Kara said flying into the air to be next to Star now. "So, you got take off, now landing. It's kind of the opposite. Float down to the ground. Be slow for now. As you get better, you will be able to do it faster and faster. It will become second nature."

Star floated down to the ground, next to Kara. "Now just put your feet on the floor and let gravity take hold of you again," Kara said sweetly and Star put her feet down, taking a breath as she felt herself get back on the ground. She didn't fall on her butt this time. "Great! So now you know how to defy gravity and how to land. All you need is practice and you'll be a pro at flying."

"Can I go up again?" Star asked and Kara nodded, watching as Star take off once more, smiling to herself. Star had gotten the hang of it.

"Take me up," Barry said after a moment and Kara looked at him. "It's been a long time since we have flown together. Caitlin, watch the girls." Caitlin nodded as Kara took Barry up next to Star the two hanging in the air as they watched their daughter in the air and then their daughters on the ground. "Perfection," Barry added, smiling.

Post Chapter Note 1: I know its not long, but it was written in the span of a song being played twice. Hope you enjoyed.

Post Chapter Note 2: For those who do not know, Sigma and I have opened up 10 Earths for others to be involved in the Millma Verse. There are 5 spots left. All you need is a good story/idea to write, and to follow the following rules to be included. Please PM me or Sigma with ideas though! Remember: You are writing for this, not me or Sigma.

1. Mille and Sigma MUST approve a world for it to be included;

2. These worlds CANNOT crossover with existing Millma Verse Worlds without express permission, although can crossover with one another should authors want this;

3. Rachel Garrick and Amelia Allen CANNOT be used, but other OCs are fine so long as Millie or Sigma approve of their plot (can be a vague plot if you don't know much yet) – this includes their gender bent / twin versions in Roland and Arthur;

4. Karry Universe cannot visit these worlds and will not be given permission to go to those worlds, however with the right plot we could let your world visit Karry within a Karry Universe chapter;

5. Hitchhiking Kayla CAN be used for a chapter, or you can write a Hitchhikers Guide chapter for Kayla, so long as you submit it to Sigma somehow for him to edit and post;

6. Nazi Earth is off limits – all protections in place mean you cannot just send your characters to overthrow it;

7. You cannot use couples not involved already in the Millma Verse, this includes Iris/Barry, Kara/James, Kara/Lena, Kara/Cat and Kara/Batwoman to name just a few; (basically don't use couples we hate),

8. You get sole permission to name your Earth as we do not want to interfere in that, however you cannot use the same names we already have (Prime, Karry Universe, SuperEarth etc. are out);

9. You can use any DC characters you like, including those from the Batfamily catalogue;

10. Your Earth can follow similar histories to our Earths, such as spinning off from early Karry Universe or changing the direction of Karry Prime, however it must be different and completely yours;

11. Each person gets ONE earth for now, if you need to use a secondary Earth such as a Wells Earth, please speak to us as, depending on how quickly spots are taken, we may be able to assign more than one Earth for you;

12. Once your story is out, Millie or Sigma will announce it as part of the Millma Verse in their latest update, so that readers are alerted and hopefully review it;

13. Multi-fandom crossovers are best avoided, especially with other big brands like Marvel. If necessary, you can create characters based on ones you want, but you can't bring other fandoms in;

14. You cannot make a bold statement that has to be true throughout the Millma Verse, such as claiming you have a speedster who is faster than New Justice's Rachel Garrick. Please talk to us first if so;

15. Please do whatever you want for your world, minding these rules, but please don't do something that would affect other worlds without our permission – such as a Crisis event
