Finding Atlantis

Sara stared at her former girlfriend for a moment longer, wondering what this 'message of great importance' was.

"Um… hi," Sara said, shaking herself. "Why don't you come in?" She moved aside to let Nyssa into her home; Astra had grabbed Jerry and had successfully got Simon distracted from tossing objects around the room with his powers. "You remember Astra…"

"Yes, Supergirl's aunt who lives above your garage," Nyssa said.

"It's more of a loft apartment than a place above the garage," Astra pointed out. "Hello, daughter to the former leader of the League of Assassins," she added with a smile – the pair had got along well before, back when Nyssa had stayed with them during the Darkseid war.

"They are beautiful children," Nyssa said, glancing at the three children, and Sara had to smile as she held Sydney, still in her arms.

"Thank you, but you said something about a matter of great importance," Sara stated, indicating for Nyssa to sit as she put Sara with Jerry in a playpen. "What's going on?"

"I am sure you are aware my sister Thalia is trying to remake the League of Assassins," Nyssa started.

"It's been a while, but yes," Sara nodded, remembering when Dick had met with Cassandra. Thalia had been trying to recruit her after all. That had been over a year ago, maybe even longer now. "I wasn't sure if it got off the ground or not."

"They have been keeping to the shadows." Nyssa stated.

"Well, they were also called the League of Shadows," Sara chuckled, Nyssa giving Sara a look. "Sorry," Sara added.

"Well, my sister wants everyone back: Me, you, and even Thea Queen," Nyssa continued.

"Thea was never in the League of Assassins," Sara countered back, surprised by this.

"But she is Malcolm Merlyn's daughter," Nyssa countered.

"Only by blood," Sara stated, but nodded at this. "How do you know this? Wait, you didn't…?" Sara tailed off, not wanting to voice it. Had Nyssa rejoined?

"I have been managing to keep my distance but some of the recruits are still loyal to me," Nyssa explained, and Sara had to smile.

"Assassin spies," Sara chuckled..

"Thalia wants Cassandra Cain back most of all. Nightwing has been keeping her safe, but my spies say Thalia has figured something out about Nightwing," Nyssa said, and Sara raised an eyebrow. "None of them are in her inner circle but there is a weakness of some type. Something about a bird. A dove, a crow…."

"A robin?" Sara asked, stiffening now, dreading what this could mean.

"That could be it," Nyssa said but Sara jumped up and grabbed her communicator.

"Nightwing, get on now," Sara said loudly into the communicator as she moved away.

"Can I be filled in?" Nyssa asked, turning to Astra, who had remained quiet but listened in. While Nyssa had fought with the League she had not been let in on all of their identities.

"Robin is not a bird," Astra sighed. "He's Nightwing's son."

Nyssa's eyes widen as the realization Sara had come to came to Nyssa. Thalia was going to target Robin to get Nightwing to give over Cassandra.

-Karry Universe-

"Everyone should come to the Waverider now," Rip called, and waited as three different portal opened up a moment later; Ray was carrying Brandon and Jonas smiled going over to the two, Ray putting his son down and let Jonas entertain him. Laurel gave a smile herself at the pair as Ava came through last.

"So?" Laurel asked. "Does this have to do with the King Shark thing?"

"King Shark?" Ray asked.

"Yeah the metahuman who became like a half-shark," Laurel explained. "Well Froggy at the Sanctuary called Barry and Kara a couple of days ago. They have managed to stabilize his brain and he wants to help. Jesse brought back information her friend RM gave them and he's going to try to contact Atlantis to see if we can make a treaty. He's traveling to Starling now by truck I believe. We were called because they want Thea available in case of an emergency?" Laurel turned to Rip now.

"That doesn't work out that well," Miranda spoke up, and Laurel gave a nod having expected that. "But not why you're here. As we talk, Nyssa Al Gaul is warning Sara of a threat to Dick's son, Robin. Thalia has discovered Nightwing's identity and plans to kidnap Robin to force him to hand over Cassandra Cain."

The three of present day took a deep intake of breath as they looked at each other. Two of them were parents and the thought of their fellow League member's child's kidnap was terrible. "Robin went with Cody Walker, believe it or not, to some comic convention taking place in Bludhaven. Thalia and her League will kidnap both of them there. Kara was meant to save them."

"Now it seems they are found too late," Miranda said. "Robin get permanently disabled and Cody killed trying to protect him – and with Cody dead, Michelle and Ronnie as Firestorm will destabilize and die."

"Nightwing drops out of being a hero to care for his son. With Firestorm dead and Red Arrow depressed over his boyfriend's death, this tips the League in a negative tangent," Rip continued. "We need to stop this."

"What about Kayla?" Ava asked of their multiverse hopping Supergirl maternity cover. "Why isn't her being here stopping this flux?"

"Because she's not here," Ray voiced, making eye turn to him. "She went world hopping with Vibe Junior; even asked Kara and Barry if they would be fine for a while without her and they agreed."

"Seriously?" Rip asked, knowing Kayla wasn't on earth, but not knowing why. "What's the point in maternity cover if you're not going to cover 24/7."

"She's still a person," Miranda stated, "still with needs and want, and she wants to explore the multiverse."

"Besides, when she covered for Prime's maternity for Skye she still world hopped – and the same will happen when she covers for Prime Kara's pregnancy with Eden and Ruben," Gideon spoke up.

"How does she know other worlds kids?" Ava was the one to ask this.

"I have connection to future multiverse systems so some knowledge of other Earths Plus, I know the future of this world, Ms. Sharpe, and I know Skylar, Eden and Ruben make regular visits from Prime," Gideon answered for Rip or Miranda.

"Oh," Ava stated, another piece of Time Master knowledge Rip had obviously taken from her.

"Not exactly the subject of conversation," Laurel spoke up. "We need to help Nightwing and rescue Robin and Cody, so let's just go to Bludhaven and stop the kidnapping. Ray can say he heard they were going and wanted to go to this comic convention himself. It's up your alley," Laurel said.

"I can't really argue. That convention is really cool. They have Courtney Ford, Routh Brandon, Tala Ashe and…." Ray paused from listing celebrities going to the convention by his cellphone ringing. "Weird," Ray mumbled as he looked at the phone and pushed ignored. "It was Rose Wilson."

"Weird, so we…" Laurel paused as her cellphone rang and she looked at it. "Rose for me now," Laurel frowned, as she instead answered it. "Rose, is this important?"

"Put me on speaker phone," Rose said.

"Why?" Laurel asked.

"I need a word with your Child of Time in the stupid trench coat. The one named Rip Hunter," Rose said, and Laurel's mouth opened slightly as she put Rose on speaker. "Hello Legends," Rose stated. "You know, I am getting tired of you not recruiting me especially with Robin and Cody in danger… Actually, you know, Gidet, you may want to put me on your own speakers instead," Rose added.

"Rerouting call to the Waverider's speakers," Gideon responded, not even questioning the random nickname Rose gave her as Rip and Miranda shared surprised looks.

"Alright, so it's too late to stop the kidnapping," Rose's voice came across in the control room, "and even if you went back in time, the results are not great fighting there. We need Laurel and JT to come to Bludhaven."

"JT?" Laurel asked, confused as to why he'd be needed.

"The best outcomes come when JT joins in," Rose said.

"What about Thea too?" Ava spoke at this. "She and JT work well together."

"Can't," Laurel turned to her fellow Legend. "Her job today is way more important."

"I agree," Gideon spoke up, "what Thea and her amphibian friend do today marks a turning point in the war."

"Sorry, but how do you know this, Rose?" Rip spoke up, glancing at Laurel for a lack of person to speak to.

"I can see the future, Rip, trust me on this one," Rose stated, almost sounding bored as she spoke.

"Well, it sounds like a plan to me," Miranda said, smirking a little.

"Okay then. See you soon," Laurel said as she hung up the phone, disconnecting it with the Waverider's internal systems at the same time. With that, Ray grabbed Brandon and smiled at Jonas as he, and then Laurel, went back home. Ava nodded at the Time Masters as she too left.

When it was only the three left, Miranda looked at her husband.

"You know in hindsight recruiting the girl who can see the future would have been a smart idea," Miranda stated, and Rip nodded as Jonas gave a laugh.

-Karry Universe-

Barry was standing on a port in Starling City.

Jesse, Oliver, Thea, Laurel, and JT stood with him. They were all dressed as their superhero counterparts as a large truck came up to where they were as Tanya Lamden, King Shark's wife who worked for STAR Sanctuary for Extraordinary Animals, came out the passenger's side. This truck belonging the Sanctuary to transport animals to filming locations.

"We got one big-ass shark here," the driver called.

"He's a metahuman," Tanya corrected the driver.

"I just read the papers," the driver shrugged. "Got to stop at a studio here who rented a few dogs as well."

Tanya rolled her eyes and looked at the superheroes. "Been like this the entire drive…" Tanya sighed.

"I'm sorry, but he's a little too big for a plane or the zap tunnels," Barry said, wishing he had a super transport them and already mentally working on other ways to transport large metas unconventionally. With Kayla world hopping and Clark trying to not have Jason expelled from school they didn't have Supers on their side right now.

The back of the truck was opened and King Shark, who was sitting there, having been reading a book, jumped down on his own.

"Hello again," Barry stated to the man-shark.

"Hello," King Sharksaid out loud, but it wasn't quite the same speech as human speech – there was a telepathic element to it, which made Barry hear him in his head, too. "There is no need to fear. Tanya has corrected my mind with help from the Allens. The King Kong TV show wants me on as an enemy for Grodd's Kong." Barry tried not to laugh at that even, though he knew that. "But first, I offer my assistant to help end this terrible war."

"Yes, Liberty Belle," Barry directed to Jesse, who had the information on a pad with her.

"Atlantis started attacking Britain when they started bombing this area of the ocean," Jesse said turning the pad around, showing a location deep in the Atlantic. "It would be a long swim but we have a cheat."

"And some backup for you," Barry said. "Speedy will be going down with you."

"I'm sorry?" Tanya asked looking at the vigilante.

"I am the bearer of the Water Totem," Thea said, indicating the Totem around her neck. "It allows me powers over the water – including being able to blend with the water and travel within it."

"And you can breathe?" Tanya asked, surprised by this.

"It's complicated, but yes, it allows me to breathe," Thea nodded. "I should also be able to take you and me nearer this mapped area fast to have a look."

"She's the only one that can go down with you and I am not sending anyone alone," Barry said and Tanya gave a smile as King Shark sort of nodded his head. "We'll be here monitoring your progress, and should you get into trouble, Liberty Belle and I will run out and see what we can do."

"Time to get rea…" but before Thea could finish, Barry's communicator went off.

"What's going on… White Canary?" Barry asked into the communicator, using her vigilante name so she knew not to be able to say their regular names in present company.

"Nyssa Al Gaul came to me," Sara stated. "Her sister and the new League of Assassins figured out Nightwing's identity and went to kidnap Robin. We tried but we were too late. By the time I got the warning to Nightwing, Robin and Cody who was with Robin, were kidnapped. We have received ransom. Both in exchange for Batgirl. If we don't hand her over they are going to kill both of them."

Fury raged inside Barry; someone had taken a Justice League kid and a member of the Justice League in Cody. Only the idea they could end the war with Atlantis right now was stopping him from running to Bludhaven himself.

"Look, I know you have that thing with King Shark today," it was Dick's voice over the communicator now, "don't stop that for this. But if anyone can…"

"I'll go," it was Laurel. She had been waiting for this. She couldn't just show up in Bludhaven with JT without explanation. "Red Hood, come with me."

"Me? I didn't think Nightwing, and Red Arrow liked me," JT said, surprised.

"So, prove to them your worthy," Laurel smirked..

"Go," Thea said. "Not much you can do here after all." Thea kissed JT on the mask before giving King Shark a nod, indicating for him to start. JT gave Laurel a nod and the two took their bikes to head to a zap tunnel.

King Shark jumped into the water with Thea going in as well. Thea seeming to blend with the water in a way that there wasn't even a splash.

I wish I could go, it was Kara in Barry's head. Barry had felt her worry and her attention turn to them.

Me too, but I'm needed here and you need to protect our kid, Barry thought back. Our team will find them.

-Karry Universe-

When Laurel and JT arrived in Nightwing's base in Bludhaven there was a lot of activity; Caitlin was there with Ronnie and Michelle, while Amelia and Winn were there too, getting some type of device set up with Barbra Gordon, who seemed to be yelling out some instructions the two were ignoring. Sara and Nyssa Al Gaul were on one side as well watching while Liam simply looked upset as Rose comforting him. Dick was sitting next to Cassandra, looking determined.

"What's the plan?" Laurel spoke up, to get their attention.

"Ronnie and Michelle share a mental link with Cody through the Firestorm Matrix. It's not as exact as the one Kara and Barry share so they can't just find him through the link, but we might be able to enhance it to track where they are," Caitlin stated. "Winn and Amelia have brought devices from the DEO and L-Corp while I got some from STAR. We're combining them into one to track Cody."

"We're not giving up, Cassandra," Dick said; Cassandra looked down at the floor. She may still be mute, but it seemed she and Dick had some sort of communication these days as it was obvious that before they got there she had offered to trade places, and Dick refused. "We'll save my son and Cody without exchanging you."

"I doubt even handing over Cassandra would save them anyway," Nyssa spoke up. "My sister is not known to keep her promises."

"Can we be sure they are still alive?" JT asked, to receive some dirty looks. "I'm just saying! I mean, if this lady is not known to keep her promises could she have already killed them."

"We'd know," Ronnie and Michelle said together.

"Besides I checked. They are not on the other side," Amelia added. The Death Totem was out of its gauntlet and attached to her shirt this time. "Keeping it on me… just in case."

"I can't just sit here," Liam said, suddenly standing. "Rose let's go out and patrol. Maybe while we're traveling your power will help eliminate places."

"I'll try but there are too many possibilities for me to get a clear view," Rose said with a nod, glancing to Laurel.

"Going out on patrol is not a bad idea," Sara voiced. "We should stay in pairs and cover as much of the city as possible. Nyssa and myself will go out, too."

"Cassandra and I will go," Dick spoke up, giving Cassandra a nod.

"JT and I will too," Laurel said, and the group split off to start patrolling the city.

-Karry Universe-

Meanwhile, Thea and King Shark had reached to the location indicated by Jesse very quickly – thanks to the Water Totem.

"Nice timing, Speedy," Barry said in their ears through waterproof coms they had given the two. Both were also wearing waterproof camera to relay video back to the group on land. "Seems your name is accurate under water."

"Very funny, Flash," Thea said, able to talk too, thanks to the Totem as well. "Come on King, let's look around."

"Call me Shay," King Shark replied, surprising Thea as she King Shark, aka Shay began swimming around, looking for some sign of Atlantis,

"Shay, huh? Is that like a nickname or…?" Thea tried.

"My human name," Shay explained, "before I became this…" Thea nodded in acknowledgement, she and Shay slitting up to look for the location but getting nothing.

"I think this is…" Thea didn't finish her sentence before she had to dodge a sudden attack as several Atlanteans had appeared.

"We are here to talk peace," King Shark called to the group.

"You have a human with you! A member of the JL, too," one of the Atlanteans responded, noticing the 'JL' logo Thea was wearing.

"I speak on behalf of the Flash and Supergirl," Thea stated, deciding not to address the JL thing yet. "We want this to end."

"This will never end until the JL is destroyed," a new voice spoke – it was Arthur, appearing near the front of the soldiers. "You are in my territory now. What happens to you, not even the JL can stop. Kill them!" Arthur pointed his trident at the two.

King Shark dodged and bit several of the oncoming soldiers as Thea used her Water Totem to knock many of the soldiers back with ease – the power Thea had over the water seeming to surprise those from Atlantis as she took the upper hand, but she knew she needed to get King Shark and get out of here.

-Karry Universe-

As Barry, Tanya, and Oliver looked at the screen, Oliver was angsty for his wife.

"Maybe I should go to Bludhaven and help there," Oliver said; they had been keeping track of what was going on with the missing member of Firestorm and Robin, as well. "I'm not much use here…"

"If we're needed to run out there we're going to need someone here to coordinate," Jesse explained, "and activate the weapons we have – we didn't add Gideon into them yet," Jesse pointed at some of the STAR Labs made weapons laying near them for use for underwater.

"Show me…" Tanya started but all paused as they saw Thea and King Shark's attack and how quickly it went astray.

"Liberty Belle, come," Barry sighed, grabbing some of the weapons and running fast over the ocean; Jesse right behind him with the rest of the weapons.

Oliver was in their ears in a second telling them where to go.

"They're there. Speedy, get above the water," Oliver said into coms.

That was when Barry and Jesse saw King Shark being pushed above the water by the water – it clearly coming from Thea as Thea herself appeared. Jesse and Barry let go of their weapons, letting them drop into the water below.

"Green Arrow, activate them when we're clear," Barry said as Jesse took hold of Thea as Barry went for King Shark, who was now unconscious.

The metahuman was a little too big and heavy for him to carry, and Barry really wished Clark or Kayla had been here now. But he felt something inside of him and held out his hand; lightning appeared from the electricity and a raft appeared on the water. King Shark fitting on it. Barry mentally thanked the Speed Force, knowing she had helped him get hold of creating objects from her energy fast for this – he'd had trouble last time he'd tried, during Crisis, in fact.

Barry kept his legs in the water and started kicking at super speed. He heard a splash knowing their weapons as a cover for escaping must have gone off. Knowing where to go to get back to the shore of Starling, he pushed the raft across the ocean at phenomenal speeds.

…

When Barry appeared with his raft and King Shark the others were surprised to see the object, albeit a little stressed that negotiations with Atlantis had failed.

"Where did that come from?" Oliver asked as Barry came onto the dock.

"New Justice Flash taught me how to create objects from the Speed Force and the Speed Force gave me a little help with this one," Barry explained, knowing he had gotten small objects down, but hadn't thought he could do this. He maintained using their superhero names instead of their regular names. "Hey, King Shark, can you move?"

The meta-man was still conscious and Barry and Oliver helped him onto the dock. The man-shark was bleeding a bit.

"It's Shay," King Shark muttered mentally as Tanya moved to his side.

"He needs a doctor," Tanya said.

"A doctor or a vet?" Thea asked and everyone looked at her. "What? It's a good question."

"I'll get a Kryptonian to take him to the Sanctuary fast," Barry said, taking out his communicator, his mind running at speed on who to call with Kara pregnant, Kayla absent and Clark busy. "Gideon ask Supergirl's aunt and uncle if one of them can lend a hand?"

"Yes creator," Gideon said. "I should also add that Nightwing son and one third of Firestorm have been found. Red Hood and Black Canary responding."

"Get us there," Thea and Oliver said together to Barry and Barry gave a nod as he unsummoned the raft and went to run the two vigilantes.

-Karry Universe-

Ronnie and Michelle had a machine on them that Caitlin had connected to them; Amelia was working on the machine as Winn was calibrating the computer connected to the machine. They were using it to pinpoint Cody's location.

"Okay, we're going to have to give this a try now," Amelia said, pushing a button as Winn typed. Caitlin was monitoring Michelle and Ronnie's vitals.

"And… hold on a second," Winn mumbled as he messed with the machine. "It's working! Gideon, alert who's closest to Cody's location."

"Black Canary and Red Hood are the closest," Gideon spoke.

…

"Ah look at that. An abandoned airfield," Laurel said, coming up to the hanger. It was clearly abandoned. She and JT stopped their motorcycles. "I'm going to give this to the League of Assassins – at least it's not a warehouse again."

"It's close enough," JT sighed. "There's a lot of space here. We're going to need to split up and search." Laurel gave a nod and the two started heading into the airfield. The two split up as Laurel scaled the field and abandoned planes, while JT entered the building. He didn't need to look far, though, as he saw a lot of human life signs patrolling around two people tied up in a chair. He ducked behind a small plane to provide him with cover.

"I found them," JT whispered into his coms, "Cody and Robin are being guarded. Thalia is here too, along with a lot of members of their League, and it seems time is out. I should go in."

"Red Hood, wait for backup!" Caitlin voiced, but JT was already taking out a gun as he shot at the member nearest to Cody; the man falling, but the rest of the League jumped into the defensive.

JT aimed another shot now, this one cutting the rope tying Cody, who jumped up and kicked at one of the Assassins as JT ran for cover again, seeing a sword going for Cody but shot the Assassin holding it before he could strike. In retaliation, another Assassin sent ninja stars at JT, it hitting him in both legs. At that moment, Laurel came running in at that and used her Canary Cry at the rest of the Assassin.

"Red Hood is down," Laurel said, noticing the wounded JT, who was still, however, firing at the Assassins from his spot on the floor, but bleeding out. She knew Rose had been right – without JT there, Cody and Robin would have died. Laurel was moving to protect Robin, who Cody was trying to untie now. "We need…"

Laurel didn't finish her sentence as there was a flash of speed and Oliver and Thea appeared in the building. JT was taken, and a moment later, the Flash came leaving Ronnie and Michelle in the hangar. Robin was taken at that, and Laurel had to smile at Barry's speed as Firestorm combined into one - -she didn't have time to comment more as she was suddenly fighting with Firestorm, Oliver, and Thea.

Firestorm concentrated on attacking Thalia, the woman doing her best to fend on the onslaught of fire from the vengeful Justice League member, while Oliver and Thea tackled the rest of the Assassins.

"Retreat!" Thalia finally relented, seeing they had lost this one and being bested by the fire meta. She threw out a device blinded the Justice League members, and when they could see, the new League of Assassins was gone.

Firestorm took this moment to separate, Michelle instantly going to hug her brother.

"That was… different," Ronnie stated, looking at the twins.

"Sorry… I wanted to take on that bitch," Cody stated, pulling out of the hug, "I kind of… took over."

"No, it was good. Interesting," Ronnie stated as Laurel frowned. It seemed Cody had managed to take over control over the overall Firestorm body, instead of Ronnie, who had taken the lead since the twins had joined him. "I'm glad you're safe now, Cody," he added.

"Me too," Michelle added of her twin.

-Karry Universe-

Thea sat in the medical wing of Watchtower where JT had been brought; Caitlin had patched him up and given him some blood transfusion – he'd lost a lot of blood due to the ninja stars in his legs. JT groaned as he woke.

"Hey there," Thea said, moving over and kissing his cheek.

"I feel like I took several swords to my legs," JT muttered.

"You did, and you'll recover, but maybe this will make you feel better," Thea said holding out a communicator and a Justice League badge to him.

"What?" JT asked, shocked.

"Dick and Liam changed their vote. You're in the League now," Thea said, and JT had to smirk. "Rest up. Remember we're still at war."

"I guess King Shark didn't go over well with Atlantis," JT mumbled, and Thea shook her head.

"It could have been better…" Thea sighed. "But hey, we may not have won with them, but at least we won with the League of Assassins."

"Yeah," JT groaned. "It was worth it," he smiled at the communicator and badge he now held.

-Karry Universe-

Barry ran into the Penthouse. Kara had taken care of dinner and all the kids, Amelia, and his wife were eating peacefully. He didn't know where Winn was but wasn't worried.

'King Shark will be fine,' Barry thought to Kara, not wanting the kids in on this. 'Froggy sorted him out. Caitlin patched up JT – the newest member of our League."

'Robin?' Kara asked, happy that JT had made it into the League finally.

"Scared. Dick is taking precautions. The DEO set up witness protection for Robin and Barbra. Robin will be going by John Blake and Barbra by Stephanie Blake," Barry thought to Kara who had to nod, sad that it came to this, but it was for the better. The League could attack Robin at any time.

'Are Cassandra and Dick not joining them? The League of Assassins could go after them. Especially since they figured out Dick's real name," Kara pointed out.

'Dick decided to let Barbra protect Robin and he's staying as Nightwing. He's going to stay in headquarters. Cassandra refuses to leave his side,' Barry thought back.

"Hey, isn't Stephanie the name of New Justice's Batgirl?" Kara suddenly asked out loud, remembering this and finding it strange that Barbra was going by this name.

"Well… I might have suggested the name," Barry said with a smirk.

"Care to share the conversation?" Amelia asked, knowing the pair had been talking mentally.

"Not at all," Barry chuckled as Kara tossed a roll at him, which he caught and ate. Amelia chuckled at this.

-Karry Universe-

"Well, Rose was right. Sending JT was the right move," Miranda said, looking at the new timeline.

"The right move? JT wasn't meant to get into the Justice League for another few years!" Rip complained.

"I always thought that was a little too much of a wait," Miranda muse. "Now Rip, go and give Rose a courier."

"Fine, but if she makes a crack about my coat…" Rip mumbled as he opened a portal and left.

"Mom, why is dad so insane over every little change?" Jonas asked.

"Yes I can, young Time Master," Gideon said; and the two could almost hear the smirk in her answer. Miranda laughed.
