The War Ends
-January 14th 2022-
On board the Waverider, Rip was frustrated as he looked through the possibilities to the timeline that Gideon had given him.
"Gideon, are you sure these are all the possibilities?" Rip asked.
"Yes, captain," the AI responded. "Do you want me to call the Legends?"
"Yes, Gideon," Miranda spoke; she was standing off to the side with her son. The two of them also having been looking for a way to end the war properly but coming up with nothing.
"Very well," Gideon stated, and a moment later, Time Courier portals began opening in the ship, and the Legends made their way through.
"So, what do we have this time?" Laurel asked once everyone was in the ship; the rest of the Legends waiting to hear what was going on.
"The end of the war," Rip said, making all of them look at each other. "And it's the biggest problem yet: Atlantis is planning one last major attack and this time Kara was meant to capture King Arthur. Once captured and understood the misrepresentation, peace came about. The problem is, there is no possibility that comes to the right ending without actual Kara – not even Kayla can help this. It's a peace that will be enjoyed for thousands of years, too."
"Maybe, it's time to try not to make the outcome of the war exactly the same," Zari spoke up stepping forward. "But get the best possible outcome."
"We want the Justice League to win obviously," Ray added.
"Dad and I already eliminated all the outcomes where Atlantis wins," Jonas added and Ray put an arm around the teenager and messed up his hair a bit, which caused the boy to laugh.
"Gideon, bring up the best three possibilities," Rip said.
"Hold on, there is a new element… recalculating," Gideon spoke, confusing everyone. "New possibilities and routes have been added in. There is now a path that leads right to the correct ending of the war."
"I see it too. The future has changed," Rose said.
"What? How?" Rip asked shocked. Time didn't change easily, and the Hunters had been starring at the screens for hours to figure out how to change time to make the right outcome come about.
"The same way time always changes: a multiverse interference," Gideon announced. "Specifically, New Justice Rae has arrived."
Rip looked at the screen, almost not believing it.
"Legends get back to where you belong," Rip said. "Ava, the DEO will be needed at one point. Be ready." Ava gave a nod as he exited. "Laurel, Ray, Rose you three might be the most important. Mon, Zari be on alert too. Kayla might be needed. I'll direct from here."
There was mumble of agreement as the Legends left getting ready for the day.
"So, a Rae is helping us," Jonas said, giving a smirk but his father didn't turn to look at his son or realize why his son was being smug.
-Karry Universe-
Barry was putting eggs on a plate for the kids; Star was still being very clingy with both him and Kara and they were willing to let her be clingy for the moment – she had gone through big trauma, after all.
His phone then rang and it was Caitlin. "Hey Barry," Caitlin said. "Happy birthday. We got visitors waiting at STAR Labs again."
"No, no more surprise visitors," Barry said.
"I think you'll like this one," Caitlin responded.
"Don't go," Star said immediately, grabbing onto Barry's leg and Barry and Kara shared a look.
"I'll get all the kids and Kara there somehow," Barry said.
"I'll send some help," Caitlin said before hanging up and Barry looked at Kara, confused for a moment until there was a speedster trail in the Penthouse; Alura and Nora were gone with a laugh with the new speedster. The speedster came back and Romana and Star were taken.
Barry frowned, took hold of Kara and ran, getting to STAR Labs and smiling when he realized who the new speedster was as Alura and Nora were laughing and playing with the grown-up Rae.
"Rae," Barry said, knowing this was New Justice Rae just from the outfit. Barry had to hug her.
Barry… Kara thought to him, turning his attention. He hadn't realized the other two people in the room. Their faces were unfortunately familiar. He had seen them many times in many attacks. The only reason he hadn't gotten defensive was the JL logo on their outfits. This was New Justice's Aqualad and Aquagirl.
"Barry, this is one of my oldest friends Kaldur-Ahm, my Aqualad, and his wife Selena, otherwise known as Aquagirl," Rae said seeing where the two adults' faces were.
"Okay. So, what exactly are you doing here?" Kara asked. Star had come up to her and Kara put a hand on her daughter. Romana was looking at the two aquas as well, seeming curious herself.
"We're here to end your war," Rae said, confusing them.
"Rae, we didn't…" Barry started.
"No, you didn't, but I got tired of waiting for you to ask – especially since you apparently never ask anyway. So, I am here with the offer," Rae said. "I woke the two aquas soon after you woke me up and we've been discussing how best to do this."
"We think the best option is us going to Atlantis," Selena said.
"We'll act as your neutral moderators. We know the lay of the land there. We know their traditions," Kaldur said. "Even if there are differences between yours and ours, they can't be that big."
"We have tried to talk peace. King Shark is still healing from our last attempt to find Atlantis," Barry said.
"King Shark," Rae chuckled, giving Kaldur a smirk. "No, this will be different. The two already know where Altantis is."
"I don't know…" Barry mused.
"Barry, I'm the Paragon of Truth and you need to listen to some truth from me," Rae said, stepping forward. "Years ago, I stood here," Rae looked around, "well sort of – before your old STAR Labs was destroyed and rebuilt – and asked you to help me with my Reverse Flash. Since then we have both helped each other numerous of times, but somehow you just never seemed to ask. Put aside your pride and let me help you."
The girl does speak truth, Kara thought to Barry.
"Okay we'll try this," Barry nodded, he and Kara agreeing in their minds. "Gideon let the League know what we're doing." Barry turned to the two Aquas from New Justice. "If anything goes wrong at all, ditch and come back here."
-Karry Universe-
Deep in the Pacific Ocean, Aqualad and Aquagirl had to pause as they looked at Karry Universe's Atlantis. It was exactly as they remembered their home from before King Arthur died and the wars started. They weren't sure what their home back on New Justice looked like now.
"One day, when Prince Arthur is grown, we'll return," Selena said to Kaldur who gave a sad nod.
"Keep on task," Kaldur voiced though, as they moved through the city; so far no one had even given them a second glance. The two knew their alternates did exist here, so were obviously mistaken for their doubles, thankfully. "We need to get into the castle."
"There are secret ways…" Selena didn't finish the sentence as guards came around pair, pointing tridents. Selena held up her hands, but Kaldur put a hand on Selena's shoulder. This wasn't how they wanted to get to King Arthur but might be the only way.
"Who are you?" The leader of the soldiers said. "Kaldur-Ahm and Selena are in the throne room with King Arthur, planning the next attack."
"Or so you think," Selena tried, but it didn't get passed the guards, who moved their tridents closer.
"We're… alternates, please take us to see your King," Kaldur stated calmly.
There was a pause as the guards decided what to do before one moved forward, binding their hands together – to which they didn't resist – before taking them into the castle.
The Throne Room was the same as the one on their Earth – only didn't include a Zap Tunnel – although the one on New Justice had long since been disconnected to the rest. King Arthur was present, along with his Queen, and beside the Queen was Prince Arthur and a younger female; the couple must have had another child on this Earth. Kaldur and Selena's own alternate stood near the throne along with an alternate of Garth – another version of Aqualad.
"What is this?" This Earth's Kaldur demanded, looking at them.
"Who are you?" King Arthur said moving forward.
"I am Kaldur-Ahm and this is Selena alternate," Aqualad said.
"We're from a parallel world," Aquagirl added.
"Parallel world?" Arthur said, tilting his head.
"Many different parallel worlds exist side by side; most have the same people, but different worlds and different histories. We are able to travel between them," Aquagirl explained.
"Have you come to help us against the JL?" Arthur asked, seeming to be accepting of parallel worlds.
"We have come on the request of Supergirl and the Flash to negotiate peace," Aqualad explained, making everyone in the room shocked.
"My King, their outfits…" this Earth's Selena said pointing.
Arthur moved forward and grabbed hold of New Justice's Kaldur, bringing him higher and looking at his chest. "The design is different, but… JL," Arthur said. "You wear their symbol?"
"The Justice League," Aqualad corrected. "The JL on both my Earth and this stands for 'Justice League' – a group of heroes who defend the planet."
"We think you have a misunderstanding of who the Flash, Supergirl, and the Justice League are," Aquagirl added.
"There is no misunderstanding," a new voice spoke, and the two from New Justice turned; into the room came Orm. Aqualad and Aquagirl gave each other a look – a sudden idea of where this misunderstanding had originated. "I have researched the land and the JL as per your orders. I have told you of the cruel leaders the Flash and Supergirl. How they led an army and enslaved the land. How they will eventually spread to Atlantis. They are a threat. This is one of their tricks."
"My King," Aqualad said fast. "I served my King Arthur faithfully until the day he died. I would never lie to any version of you. You must believe me when I say Orm is lying. He has always wanted your throne. This is his attempt. If you continue listening to him your Atlantis will go the way of mine."
"Our Atlantis has been in a massive civil war between a rebellion and those loyal to the throne since our King Arthur died," Aquagirl added. "The only reason we're alive, the only reason our Prince Arthur is alive to one day take back the throne, is because of the Flash and Supergirl's alternates." Aquagirl deciding to not add their Flash was different to this Earth's Flash.
"You must back away and listen to the truth yourself," Aqualad said. "Don't let Orm influence you."
"My brother, I have never misled you," Orm said. "I am your loyal servant."
Arthur, who had moved from the throne to his brother, put a hand on his brother's shoulder and gave a nod. "Put these two in chains," Arthur said and both Aqualad and Aquagirl sighed as chains were put on them, in addition to the ties that bound their hands. "We shall bring them to the land and execute them to send a point to the JL. Kaldur, Selena, take them."
"My lord," Orm said. "May I suggest, I think it's time to end this war? They clearly know where we are and have great power. Challenge the leader of the JL to a fight to the death. Lure him to fight in the middle of the ocean so you have the advantage. Winner takes it all."
"I like that thinking brother," Arthur said. "My Queen, watch over the Kingdom until I return victorious. Kaldur, Selena, take your alternates."
"You know the plan here, right?" Aquagirl whispered to her Aqualad who nodded. Orm was hoping Barry would kill Arthur so Orm could claim the throne.
-Karry Universe-
On the land, as they waited for a report from Aqualad and Aquagirl, Barry had shown Rae the Disney recipes Beautiful Rae had brought over.
"These recipes are interesting," Rae was saying. "Not the biggest Disney person but Chris would love it. I am sure Mini Me would give me these but maybe we should put this in the system anyway, since you have it on digital?"
"Good idea," Barry said. "Gideon, transfer those recipes to the multiverse system."
"Right away, Creator," Gideon spoke. "You might want to see this though…" the television screen flashed on, and Barry recognized the ocean area not far from Central; King Arthur of Atlantis was there, standing on what must have been a sunken submarine he'd risen from the bottom. Aqualad and Aquagirl were in chain their alternate was holding.
"So much for ditching if anything went wrong. Get the DEO to clear out the area closest to there as best they can," Barry sighed.
"Director Sharpe is already on it," Gideon said.
"Kayla, I could use a Supergirl. Flash, you should come too. Those are your people," Barry said both on coms and to Rae, who gave a nod, putting her helmet back on. Kara, who was sitting on the couch with the kids, gave a nod as the two speedsters left.
-New Justice-
Barry and Rae were first to run onto the top of the submarine and Kayla joined them a moment later; the three standing together.
"Aqualad, Aquagirl, are you two, okay?" Rae called out to the two.
"We're fine but there…" Aqualad didn't get to finish as his alternate kicked him.
Rae went to take a step forward, but Barry put a hand on her and gave her a nod.
"So, you won't even consider talking peace?" Barry asked Arthur, stepping forward.
"There will be peace once you and the JL are dead," Arthur said, lifting his trident. "And I think it's time you and I fought this out together. A fight to the death between you and me. Should you win, Atlantis is yours for the taking, but when I win, the land will be free from you and your group of terrorists."
"There is really something wrong with you," Barry sighed, not even going to try to deny the claims of his enslavement of humanity or deny the fact he didn't want Atlantis at all. "Fine, I'll fight you. Flash, Supergirl stay back. He's mine."
"Kaldur, Selena, guard those two until my victory," Arthur said, and instantly the water rose and went right at Barry, who took a moment to run through it and punch at Arthur. Arthur hit him back with his trident.
Barry ignored the hit and went to throw a lightning bolt, Arthur responding with his own from the trident. Arthur jumped into the water that Barry was running over and created a whirlpool. Barry went to run out of it, but was having difficulty. As he approached, the top the water came over him and Arthur's hands were on him, dragging him under the water.
Barry punching at Arthur and trying to phase through his hold, but as water got to him, he was having trouble. He then felt Kara in his head.
I'm here, Kara thought to him. Together forever. Take my powers.
The baby…? Barry thought back.
You need them more than us, Kara said back, and Barry could feel the powers coming to him through their bond; feeling stronger than ever before Barry punched hard enough that Arthur was off of him. With his speed combined with Kara's strength, he rushed towards the surface, dragging Arthur with him, and tossing Arthur up into the air as he flew up. He felt the heat vision come to his eyes and used it.
Arthur barely blocked it with water as he fell, and water came up to him, making a water tunnel he was standing on in the air. Arthur sent ocean at Barry, but Barry felt cold in his mouth; he let out a freeze breath, freezing the water coming at him and then with speed, froze the water Arthur was using, trapping his legs in ice as his upper body was free.
Arthur went to use the trident to break the ice, but Barry had gone back, and using his speed he flew right at Arthur, grabbing hold of him and breaking the ice with the punch. Arthur went flying back towards the land and Barry followed him, Arthur landing on a city block a few streets away from the water.
Barry landed, barely taking in Central City, but could see Ava had arrived to keep the public back – his attention was still on Arthur. Arthur went to hit him with his trident, but Barry dodged with his speed and grabbed Arthur's arm. He heard the crunch of a bone break as he twisted it. Arthur called out in pain and his hand let go of the trident, Barry grabbing it with his other hand.
Barry flipped Arthur back down on the pavement, so he was laying on his back, Barry putting his foot on his lower stomach to keep him down and then holding Arthur's own trident to his face. Barry turned around to see Rae and Kayla had arrived and this Earth Kaldur and Selena had arrived with Aqualad and Aquagirl.
"Take the chains off of Aqualad and Aquagirl!" Barry demanded. His voice was vibrating and deeper than it usually was – it was actually kind of scary, even to Barry himself.
"Do as he says," Arthur said, knowing he was defeated.
Kaldur and Selena opened the chains and let their New Justice alternates out.
"Aqualad, Aquagirl, put the chains on your alternates," Barry said and the two from New Justice did as they were told.
"Director Sharpe, cuffs," Barry said, and Ava had cuffs in her hand. Kayla stepped forward and took them, bringing them over to put on King Arthur.
"Kill me!" Arthur demanded.
"No one is killing anyone," Barry snapped, his voice still deep as he backed away and took the trident away from Arthur's face, turning it around so he was holding it normally with the bottom touching the street. "This war is over." Barry released Kara's powers back to her as he said that line so his voice returned back to normal.
The second the words were out of his mouth there was a cheer by onlookers and even DEO agents; a chant of 'Flash' started, and Barry noticed the shocked and confuse look on Arthur's face, but he couldn't appreciate it for too long.
Through the bond he felt something was off: Kara was in distress.
"Kara…" he mumbled and turned to Rae who had walked over to him. "There's an emergency. I got to go." Barry tossed the trident to Rae who caught it, even though she was surprised, and then spoke into his com to the entire Justice League. "Justice League, I need to go. New Justice Flash is in charge until further notice."
"What?" Rae asked, but Barry had already run faster than Rae had ever seen him run before.
"For a world that doesn't like asking for help they really know how to take advantage of it when it's offered," Aquagirl stated to Rae, who was still in a little shock over the turn of events.
-Karry Universe-
Barry ran into the SuperFlash cave to see Kara in the medical bay with Caitlin. He saw Caitlin had the device used to measure Kara's solar energy out.
"What's going on?" Barry asked, coming next to his wife who was clearly in pain and wasn't responding to him mentally or physically.
"She's gone into labor," Caitlin explained, "Only… it's not right. I put the device on her the minute you started using her powers. The powers didn't return right – I think due to the pregnancy," Caitlin explained. "It can't stabilize again after that use of it. I have already tried to use red lamps to remove her powers but they aren't working. I even tried to use Kryptonite to weaken her and preform a C-section but it's not going through the skin right now."
"What do we do?" Barry asked concerned.
"We need to completely cut her off from the yellow sunlight. That should get rid of her powers and allow us to remove the baby," Caitlin said.
"And how do we do that?" Barry asked.
"There's only one answer," Caitlin said. "We need to bring her to Krypton."
"But Krypton is…" Barry paused and then got what Caitlin meant: There was one Krypton left in the multiverse.
"Daddy?" Star asked; Romana was holding back both Alura and Nora who had tears in their eyes.
"I need you two to watch Alura and Nora for a bit," Barry said as he picked up Kara and brought her to the spot in the SuperFlash Cave they could use the multiverse system to hop world; Caitlin followed, knowing she was needed. "Gideon, get Astra here to watch the girls and send the three of us to Prime."
"Yes, Creator," Gideon said, sending Barry, Kara, and Caitlin to Prime leaving Romana and Star there with Alura and Nora. A moment later though, Astra came in, picking up both Nora and Alura.
"Come with me little ones," Astra said to them. Star, however, was crying as Barry and Kara had gone.
-Karry Universe-
Rip Hunter was sitting in the Waverider watching the videos of the fight between Barry and Arthur, seeing Barry run off and leaving Rae in charge.
"Arthur is captured, not dead," Rip said; many of the possibilities with the Justice League winning before Rae had shown had ended with Arthur's death.
"And Rae might be the only person who will give him a shot," Miranda said, knowing well that New Justice Rae had a soft spot for her former League alternates. "She could broker the peace the original ending had."
"As long as she stays in charge of the League," Rip muttered. "Legends we're in a very fragile state right now; we have one chance to get this right. Ava, report?"
"We've got Aqualad and Aquagirl's alternates. They are being given to the DEO. Rae kept hold of Arthur," Ava reported back.
"Good," Rip said with a nod. "Ray, Laurel, Rose the entire League is about to be called into a League meeting. I think Zari and Mon will be included too; you five, it's very important that Rae keeps charge of the League. Don't let anyone else take it over."
"I doubt anyone else would want the job," Laurel chuckled back.
"She has a point," Ray added.
"Well… just make sure no one does," Rip stated.
"What about Kara and Kent?" Jonas spoke up.
"They have been brought to Prime," Rip explained. "Their fates right now, we can't see."
"Prime will take care of them," Miranda said, taking Rip's hand; the two sharing a look, knowing if Kara and Kent had died it would be the biggest flux yet and destroy the entire known future.
-Karry Universe-
"Well, the plan is working," Gal was saying; he and Accord monitoring the situation. "Rae is now in charge of Karry Universe's Justice League, just like we wanted."
"She'll take care of them," Accord said. "You should head to your world. Just in case, Kara and her son need a little extra help that Krypton and the Speed Force can't provide. Remember to let them try first."
"Of course. We don't interfere unless absolutely necessary," Gal said with a nod, knowing the rules by now. They'd both agreed on them, after all.

After The War- Barry, Kara, and Caitlin have gone to Prime needing to get their Kara to Krypton to save both her and Kent's life. Meanwhile, Rae is in charge of the Justice League and needs to decide what to do with Arthur.
