The weekend passed fairly quietly. Neither Xander nor Cordelia seemed to display any other abilities then the currently known ones, but that might change as time went on. Monday though, meant Xander and Cordelia would be returning to school for the first time in nearly three weeks. In an ironic twist, Harmony was the first person to notice what she thought was a new boy in school.

"Hottie alert." She said to the other Cordettes, pointing to a guy wearing a dark blue shirt and jeans. "Seriously, check out the butt on the new guy. I call dibs."

Aura, knowing full well who's back was currently to the Cordettes said. "Cordelia's already laid claim, she was dancing with him at the Bronze last week."

"No way! How does she always get the best guys first?" Harmony moaned in disappointment.

"Because she's the Queen of the school." Aphrodisia, one of the Cordettes replied. "Which means she gets the pick of the crop."

"I think you mean cream of the crop." Another Cordette corrected her.

"Whatever." Aphrodisia answered. "But I agree with Harmony, that is a nice butt. He must do a lot of walking or running. Hey, there's Cordelia and it looks like Aura's right, she's laid claim to the new guy. Damn it."

"You're missing something guys." Aura said. "I was at the Bronze when she was dancing with him, I know who that guy is and so do you."

"Really? He doesn't look familiar." Harmony said. "Who is he?"

"He went out and got himself a cool infusion." Aura answered. "I think he was visiting relatives or something for the last few weeks and maybe he had a bit of a growth spurt because he looks a little bit taller and he's certainly dressing better."

The Cordettes watched as Cordelia hooked her hand around the guy's elbow and the couple turned in the direction of the Cordettes. It took a moment for his identity to register with them. The spell over Sunnydale and three weeks of absence made it necessary for a few synapses to work overtime to catch up to the knowledge of what or rather who, they were seeing.

"Xander Harris?" Harmony asked in a strangled voice. "When did Xander Harris turn hot?!"

"Really good question." Aphrodisia agreed. "From loser to hottie in one move, damn that's good. Whoever helped him clean up really knows what they're doing. And that body was hiding under those hideous rags?"

"How?" Harmony asked.

"Maybe he came into some money." Aphrodisia suggested. "Maybe that's why he was away for the last few weeks, a will reading or something."

"That would explain the better wardrobe." A nameless Cordettes agreed. "And why Cordelia is hanging off his arm now. Maybe she thinks she can mould him into a passable boyfriend now that he's got money."

"Actually she's already started." Aura informed them. "She's the one who helped him with getting a new wardrobe. She's helping him develop an acceptable fashion sense."

"It's working." Aphrodisia decided. "Because those clothes are a thousand times better than what he had before and damn he cleans up good."

"You said they were dancing at the Bronze." Harmony said to Aura. "Was he any good?"

"Well, they were slow dancing, but yes, he was."

"So some dance lessons too. Maybe he has come into money and there's expectations and he's working to meet them." Aphrodisia suggested.

"If so, he's doing a good job." Aura stated.

"Maybe it's a lot of money." Harmony said, with a gleam in her eye. "Cordelia must have found out and that's why she's staked a claim. I wonder if he's considering joining one of the teams."

"Well, we were speculating that his fine backside is because he does a lot of walking or running." The nameless Cordette pointed out. "Maybe he's getting ready to join the track team. It's not quite up there with football, basketball or wrestling, but it is still a sports team. Maybe we should encourage him to join. We can help Cordelia mould him into an acceptable boyfriend."

"And then maybe he'll decide to date one of us instead and we'll get to ride in his new car." Harmony said excitedly. "I mean, he's got to have a car right? All that money and I bet it's a great car too. Ohh, something red and shiney maybe."

"You know, he's pretty funny." Aura said. "He had us laughing at the Bronze last week."

"A great butt, a sense of humor, a developing fashion sense, dance lessons and money." Aphrodisia counted off. "And possibly a car. Aura's right Xander Harris got a cool infusion."

The Cordettes watched enviously as Cordelia and Xander walked down the corridor and paused in front of one the classrooms. Xander said something that brought out Cordelia's megawatt smile and she disengaged her hand from his arm and headed into her first class of the day. With a lopsided grin on his own face, Xander headed off down the corridor to his own first class, unaware of the rumors beginning to spread through the school concerning the 'new' Xander Harris.
