It was a rough Night Diana groaned, Zee left, Oliver and Dinah slept together. Batgirl was still missing
The next day, News came over about a new Superhero team named the seven led by a hero named Homelander, and they just saved the day from a giant tentacle monster
Kara looked annoyed. "Just great another one like my cousin who is this guy" she asked
"I think he's called Homelander, from the looks of it, he's supposed to be The Ultimate Defender of The American Dream" Karen replied
"Massive ego this guy seems to have" Zee responded
Just then Kara got a call from Clark "ARE YOU SEEING THE NEWS?!?!?!? Who does this Poser think he is, stealing my spotlight, My city, I'm gonna have a talk with him" Clark said
Meanwhile,
Everybody was cheering for Homelander praising him as if he were a god
"Hey hey, You're too kind, thank you thank you" Homelander said as Superman landed near Homelander "Heyyy it's the man of steel himself, pleasure to meet you, names Homelander" He gestured out a handshake
"I don't care who you are, but I don't think you're gonna take my job" Superman said
"No offense dude, but there does come a time where a star becomes a supernova, but in its place is a new star" Homelander replied as he flexed his abs for the cameras
"Oh really?" Superman asked "Well let's see if this "Star" can compete with this Red Giant I challenge you to a game of heroes"
"Challenge Accepted" Homelander replied, popping his knuckles
So the Hero games begun, Superman and Homelander competed against each other one on one, and Homelander won most of them, earning the title of Big Blue Boy Scout
"That's not fair!!" Superman said "I'm the Man of Steel, I'm Superman, I save you guys a lot!!"
Homelander came towards Superman talking him down gently (A/N: well 'Gently')
"Hey, it's alright buddy, you had your time in the spotlight, now it's time for a new star to shine." He said as he walked center stage "Yes ladies and gentlemen, A new day is dawning. The day of the Homelander!!!"
As everyone started cheering
(A/N: this chapter is gonna be long so we're spare you the detailed events of the hero games)
Later that night, Superman saw a robbery and tried to stop it, only for the robbery to be stopped by Homelander. A bunch of crimes day after day and Superman was getting mad
Later at the Hall of Justice, Superman felt frustrated
"This Homelander guy, I don't trust him" Superman exclaimed
"Well the way I see it, he could be a good ally" Green Lantern (John Stewart) said
"I'm pretty sure you're just jealous of him" Aquaman included
"I don't know what he's trying to do, but he is not fooling me" Superman retorted
Later Superman found Homelander in an ally
But Homelander dodged "Ooooh too slow, Buddy, looks like you're losing your touch, looking a bit rusty, never fought anyone as powerful as you" Homelander said, bullying Superman
In an act of rage, Superman started to beat Homelander up, only to be seen by everybody. All these people saw Superman attacking Homelander senselessly. Feeling embarrassed by this he flew away looking down
The next day Kara saw Clark on the couch cuddling in a Blanket cocoon "what are you doing?" she asked
"I'm just like you now" Clark said
Later Kara flew to have a talk with this Homelander
"Howdy neighbor, Cocoa? It's warm" Homelander gestured as he was drinking some cocoa, clicking his teeth
"Listen I'm just here to talk about Superman, I'm sorry for him attacking you, it's just nobody has been near his game at all and he thinks you killed someone, can you believe that, you seem very nice, selfless, everything my cousin isn't
"Well, I appreciate that" Homelander said soon sounding more sinister "But I'm afraid I can't keep having you guys getting in the way of business"
"Business?" Kara asked
"You know Kara, 'Homelander' is more than just a Superhero name, it may be cynical to say, but it's a….Brand name, and it's very important to me that brand means something, so if I'm playing second fiddle to some goddamn teenage alien girl, hell a bunch of super hero kids, what's really the point, right? What do you think….Steve? He said, gesturing over to a corpse which would actually be what was left of Steve Trevor "Oh, he's shy." (A/N: I chose Steve to die since Diana is with
"So it's true, you are a villain" Supergirl said
"Can't let anybody reveal my true self, I got a reputation to uphold. I'm being generous, right now, if you and your friends leave now, I will spare your lives. If not, well I don't want things to get more messy than they are." Homelander replied "So, do we have an understanding? Get the fuck out of my country"
"Excuse you?" Supergirl said
"You heard me, if you don't wanna get beamed, you better tell your friends this too, cuz I'm coming for them next"
"How about I just kick your butt" Super girl said, as he was about to punch him but Homelander just grabbed her fist almost breaking it
"ok your kinda good" Super girl says using her laser eyes on him
But Homelander's heat vision was much more stronger, pushing back Kara's lasers back
Kara was sent flying "You are going to pay for Steve"
"Whatcha gonna do, tell on me?" Homelander asked "Well lemme tell you, I'm The Homelander, I can do whatever the fuck I want" (A/N: HE SAID THE LINE!!!!!)
"Your no hero I'll be back and when I come back you are screwed!" Kara says and flew off
Meanwhile
Diana was trying to get back in shape of she was going to look for Barbara she needed to be ready
Kara came
"I need help!" She said
"What's the matter?" Diana asked
"Remember Steve? Well this Homelander guy killed him!" Kara said, as Diana's eyes widened and she dropped her stuff, hearing about her old flame dead made her really enraged
"We will bring him to justice let us get the others " Diana says
"No he's too tough I can't beat him" Kara sats "He wants us gone"
Diana called Barry Kent Hal Garth Jessica Karen and miss Martian
"Listen everyone this Homelander has killed Steve and we must bring him to justice" Diana said
"Wait, he killed Steve Trevor!?!?!?"
"Yeah!" Barry says
Atticus smirked
" I got the strength of Hercules and Krypton powers I got this " Atticus says and rushed off with the others looking for Homelander
"It won't be that Easy, kids" a man in a black trench coat said, revealing himself.
"Who are you?" Shane asked
"Butcher, Billy Butcher" the man in a black trenchcoat answered
"Ok you look suspicious " Atticus says " I'll have my eye on you" Atticus says and walked off with the others
"I'm here to help, Homelander and I have a bit of a feud" Billy Butcher assured the heroes "You see, he's someone who has been a bit of a bully where I'm from, he's done some things that make me loathe guys like him"
"He's so going to pay" Karen says
"Yeah let's suit up" miss Martian says
"Shane and Luke need me I must go" Diana said
"Fine go" Kara groaned
"I'm not going!" Clark complained, sourly "This guy ruined me, On TV. Nobody's gonna love me anymore"
Billy Butcher walked over to Clark, sympathetically, "I know what it's like to lose something you care about, I lost my wife to that bastard. And because of that, I felt a part of me was gone forever, I've deviled with Translucent, Stormfront, Mindstorm, Swatto, Crimson Countess, Swatto, MindDroid, Eagle the Archer, Buzzer, Tek Knight, a bunch of punks who are just like him, caring only about their image, pretty much only themselves. But then I formed my own team, most of them became family to me, and because of that, the part of me that I believed was gone forever came back to me, and ever since then, I tried to find those whom I know how they feel, helping them get back on their feet. Hell, even got a few others back on the right path like Black Noir, Queen Maeve, A-Train, The Deep, Lamplighter, Mr Marathon, and most of all Starlight." He said "I guess what I'm trying to say is, what really separates heroes from villains is their reason to fight. Villains fight for their own personal gain, Heroes fight for others, regardless of their own gain. I know there's more to you than just some charming heroic guy who can fly, wanting attention. But what you need to ask yourself is, who are you fighting for? Yourself, or others"
Clark thought about these words as Billy Butcher left, finding the others and fight Homelander
Meanwhile
The heroes soon find Homelander
"Is that him?" Wolf titan asked
"Yeah" super girl says
"So your back" he says
"Yeah" Flash says
Suddenly Superman flew in punching Homelander in the face
"No one hurts my cousin!" Superman said
"Yeah I'm not sure why you killed Steve" Supergirl says
"To make a warning for anybody standing" Homelander says as Flash looked at him
Soon Billy Butcher showed up, all ready for the fight "Nice to see you again Homelander"
"Likewise, William" Homelander replied, scowling
"You got away with some stuff for far too long. When this is over, I'm gonna feed you your own heart" Billy Butcher responded
Homelander stood in silence before letting out a chuckle"...pfff hahahHaHAha shit, that was a great line-" he said as Superman punched him without realizing
"What do you say, Round two? Superman asked
They were fighting really well "Never fought someone both with a spine and your own size before?" Superman asked "You have to turn with the punch to reduce pain"
As Homelander tried to punch Superman, his nose started bleeding "Better" Superman said
Homelander immediately let loose, unleashing his punches on Superman, knocking him down. As Homelander landed he picked up Superman by the cape "This is the end for you 'Stupidman'" he said
"You're right, it is. NOW!!!!" Supergirl shouted as a giant screen showed Homelander and Supergirl's Conversation
"If you and your friends leave now, I will spare your lives. If not, well I don't want things to get more messy than they are. So, do we have an understanding? Get the fuck out of my country" the Homelander recording said
This revelation of Homelander, shocked him and the people present as they saw their new hero
"Thank you for that Camera I used to record this Ted" Supergirl said through an earpiece (A/N: for anyone who has forgotten, Ted is a reference to Ted Lord AKA the second Blue Beetle)
Homelander, enraged by Supergirl's stunt, immediately used his supersonic scream at her "COME HERE!!!!" He shouted, grabbing Supergirl, using his heat vision on her "AFTER I'M DONE WITH YOU I'M GONNA FLASH FRY OUT OF THOSE SHIT FRIENDS OF YOURS, THIS WORTHLESS CITY AND EVERY GODDAMN PERSON YOU KNOW!!!!!!"
"Not on your life, Buddy!" Superman said, knocking out Homelander who then was unable to get back up, everyone cheered at Superman, for saving the day
After the battle Homelander was in unbreakable cuffs forged from dwarf star alloy. Superman brought Homelander to the Fortress of Solitude, knowing Homelander was too dangerous to remain anywhere else
"I gotta thank you Homelander, for showing me who I really was, for opening my eyes maybe for the very first time, for helping me see the error of my ways, and for showing me the real reason to fight evil, I don't fight for adoration from people, or their praise, or even some reward, I fight evil to keep giving people hope for a brighter future, as a gesture you are gonna spend a life's worth vacation in the Phantom zone, where you won't hurt anyone else, if there's one thing i hate, it's a superpowered bully" Superman said as he used the Phantom zone projector on Homelander sending him into the Phantom Zone
Later Kara sighed
"Guys What Do we do Dinah ditched us for Ollie and wants to be the hero of Royal Woods " Karen asked
"I don't know" Jessica said
Kara glared at Jessica
"Your dating the royal Woods baker just leave" Kara replied
"What about Barbara" Jessica responded
"We don't need You just go be with your Boyfriend" Kara retorded looking down
"Well how bout we get some manicures" Miss Martian suggested
As everyone left Kara stayed behind to give herself some alone time. She began to think Zee moved to royal wood, Diana left, Karen left, and she knew even if it was for manicures and that she was worried
"We don't have a leader and everyone is gone I need to find Barbara alone" Kara sniffed soon hearing a doorbell ring,
Kara goes to open the door seeing Clark by
"Hey Kara" Clark said
"What are you doing here?" Kara asked
"I thought you could use some company, and also because I figured with how you're feeling, you would need someone to comfort you" Clark answered "And also, I came here to apologize for most of the stuff I've done with you, stealing your spotlight, getting in the way of your patrols, all that stuff, I have been very selfish, I guess I still have more to learn about this hero thing, but you know something? You are probably the best out of the two of us, I want to say how proud I am to have you as a cousin. Promise you won't tell anybody else I said this, but there are times I have wished you were the one who got to earth before me"
Kara snickered
"You're kidding right, look I need you more than ever sure I just bested Brainiac after he totally destroyed you but half the team has left" Kara said
"But that doesn't mean the SuperHero Girls are over, I have heard stuff about them whenever I wasn't Superman, that together you guys were incredible, that you're a great team, and you have done amazing things, and your friends are always gonna need you, they're never gonna leave you like this. Trust me when I say this, you're never alone Kara, and knowing your friends you guys are gonna be friends no matter what
"You don't get It they're never coming back Luke and Shane Are apparently More important than us" Kara sniffed
"I know, well there comes a time in a person's life where they start having needs, and well, whether you believe it or not, it's inevitable, including for you." Clark said, putting his hand a her shoulder "We're the last of our kind, Kara, it's only a matter of time before we need to restore the Kryptonian race, and more than that if I learned something from my ma and pa in Smallville, it's that it is normal for us to feel like we want things to stay the way they are, but learning to let go is part of growing up, and it's part of life that you also always have needs, and there comes a time when those needs have to be met, like seeking companionship, finding someone who you want to spend the rest of your life with."
Meanwhile Atticus and the boys were heading to Royal Woods they were going to check on Oliver
"what about Barbara" Barry asked
"We'll find her, trust me" Atticus replied as he gets ready to leave for Royal Woods.
Meanwhile
"The heroes Just left " Big Owl said
"That was easy" Carol replied
"All right, Metropolis is ours!!!" Big Owl cheered
Barbara heard this and began to sob. Jer friends just gave up On her all for Luke and Shane
"I have no one" she sniffed "I'm all alone"
Meanwhile the batmoblile drove in front of Harleys place as Batman came out
"Harley we need to talk" Batman says
"You gave up on me and broke her heart so no" Harley says
"I'm trying to save her and I can't do it alone" Batman says.
Harley smirked.
