Chapter 66 – Arriving at Geonosis
Slave 1 landing in Geonosis and Boba, Fennec and Luke were preparing themselves before leaving the ship.
"Now remember that Cobb never met this woman. So even if you know who she is, please remember to pretend that it is the first time you are seeing her," Boba replied looking at Luke.
"Got it."
"Then let's go," Fennec said and the three of them left the ship, and the moment they reached the entrance of the facility, Anuska was indeed waiting for them.
The moment he saw her, Luke had to calm himself to not launch into that woman. But right now he wasn't Luke for her, he was Cobb Vanth and he needed to get that in mind at the moment.
"Welcome," Anuska said with a smile the moment they reached her. "I'm glad that you decided to accept our offer."
"Well we like to be part of the strongest side," Fennec said with a smirk.
"I was counting on that," Anuska replied.
"One thing I have to say, I was not expecting coming back here after all of these years," Boba said looking around.
Luke looked at him. He knew what Boba was saying since on the way to Geonosis, they had talk and Boba had told him about his life in Kamino and about the fight between his father and Obi Wan and about how his father died.
"I know. You were here during the Battle of Geonosis and horrible way he died. And you watched it. That is so horrible."
"I didn't know you know that?!" Boba said frowning.
"Why do you think he wanted you on his side. He knows your past and your hate towards the Jedi."
"Glad he knows that," Boba replied with a bow of his head.
Smiling Anuska glare at Luke, which made him tense for a while. Did she noticed something? He thought.
"I see you brought a new face that I didn't meet before!" she said looking at Boba.
"This is Marshal Cobb Vanth. He is someone that works with me and I believe he can be a real good ally too."
"Nice to meet you," Luke said trying to sound as natural as he could. "I believe we never had the pleasure to meet."
Anuska shook his hand and smiled.
"The pleasure is all mine." she said "But I'm sure you are all want to rest and meet your quarters until Grand Admiral arrives tomorrow."
"Tomorrow!" Fennec said glaring at Boba and Luke.
"Yes," Anuska replied. "He decided to arrive earlier."
"He must be eager to be see this," Boba spoke.
"Yes, but it is not the facilities he is eager to see. Well it is but is not only that." Anuska laughed. "Follow me. I think it is better for you to see with your own eyes and you will understand."
Frowning at Boba and Fennec, Luke felt something was going on besides having his kid and nephew there.
They get inside a little place that they all realize it was a lift that was taken them underground. When it stopped, and the door opened, Fennec and Luke gasped, which made Anuska glare at them with a smile.
"Pretty awesome isn't it?" she asked.
"I have to say it is a lot different than I remember," Boba replied as they stepped out of the lift and started to walked through the corridor.
"Over the years after the fall of the Empire, Grand Admiral had being worked to have a place where his employees could work without being disturbed but also in a private way," Anuska started to explain. "This facility was used years ago, as you know Boba, right before the Clone Wars started."
"I know. Count Dooku was here a lot with the other Separatists to not only planning killing Senator Amidala, since she was a big threat, but it was here they came up with the plan for the first Death Star."
The moment he heard his mother's name, Luke had to relax. Boba and Fennec felt that and they glare at him before Fennec decided to speak.
"But I believe back then this was way different."
"That is right. This went through a big renovation."
"I can see that," Boba Fett said looking around. "But why?"
Anuska could help but smile.
"Well I think there is no problem to show you why. After all you would see it anyway."
Looking at each other, they followed Anuska towards a big balcony and what they saw below made them gasp.
"Is that clones?" Boba spoke.
"Exactly."
"So it was you guys that destroyed Kamino and the Tapioca City," Luke said all of the sudden, making Anuska looked at him right now.
Fennec and Boba glare at each other with a worried look on their faces.
"You know about that!" she asked him.
"Of course. It was all over the news. Tatooine is no different. After all we were watching the news when the second Death Star was blown up. Of course when Kamino was destroyed, it was news all of the galaxy."
Anuska stare at Luke and after a while she smile.
"Well like you said now you know who did it," she said looking down, not seeing Luke looked at Boba and Fennec who nod at him like that was a good call. "This was the reason. He needs an army after all. I know that was the place you were created but you are a very smart person right?" she said looking at Boba.
"I didn't live there since I was 12 so…" he started.
"So it is because of this Thrawn wants to come sooner?" Fennec asked.
"Oh no, let's say we have some little guests here with us that he wants to meet." she said making the others look at each other. "But let me take to your place where you will stay."
Following her, they head up to a part of the facility, where they passed through a door where two guards were standing outside.
"I see you guys also have some other value here," Fennec replied, making Anuska looked at the direction of the door and then towards the her.
"That is our prison, so to speak. We have some important people in there, that soon I have to take their lunch, which I hate cause I can't stand those little brats."
Luke looked at Fennec, who glare at him right away.
"Well here it is. Lady's room is on the left and the gentleman rooms are on the right. Fell free to relax since lunch will be served soon. Seen in a while," she replied leaving right after that.
Making sure they were alone, Luke approached Boba and Fennec.
"The kids are in behind that door. I need to get inside and tell them I'm here."
"We know but there is another big problem," Boba said and heading for the other two to enter inside his room, he closed the door.
"What is it?" Fennec asked.
"If Thrawn arrives tomorrow, we need to act today."
Luke and Fennec knew he was right.
"So we need a plan as soon as possible," Fennec said nodding.
"We need to act tonight, when everyone is resting," Boba nod.
"Look, I will try to convince her to let me take the lunch to them. I will use my charm, even if it will be very difficult. While I'm doing that, you better get a plan ready. Besides we need to do something to those clones. I know this is hard to do but we can not allow Thrawn to make them and have an army of Clones." Luke said looking at Boba.
"I know and I agree with you."
"Well to bad that I brought explosives with me, just in case," Fennec glare at the two men and with a smirk.
"Okay, so we are going to rest, so to speak, while you try to find a way to get behind that door and warn your kids, so when the time comes later it would be easier," Boba said, making Luke nod and with that he left the room and started walking towards the place, pretending he was just walking around getting familiar with it.
"Oh hey," he heard and looking behind him, he saw Anuska with a tray on her hands. Clearly she was getting ready to give lunch to the kids. This was his opportunity.
"Hello," he smiled trying to be an honest one.
"I thought you were resting before lunch?"
"Well Tatooine is not that far from Geonosis, so I was not really tired and I was eager to see the place. I mean, this is amazing," He said looking around, making Anuska smile at that.
"I thought the same when I came here for the first time."
"Yes, very impressing," he replied looking at the tray. "I see I interrupt you."
"Oh not at all. You mean this," she glare at the tray. "Trust me, if I could I wouldn't do this. I hate to go give food to those little brats, especially that little girl. I swear, if I knew Grand Admiral would be angry, I had already give that girl a lesson. If you know I mean."
Luke nod but his hands turn into to fists. If he could he would had punch her right there, but he knew he had to keep it cool.
"I'm a Marshal so I know when the young ones don't show respect. But we need to show who is the boss."
"Tell me about it."
"Why don't let other person do that?"
"I wish, but everyone is busy doing their own things, so I'm the one who is responsible for that. Which right now it is difficult cause with Grand Admiral Thrawn arriving tomorrow, I need to make sure everything is in order, and this it getting in the way," she sighed, which made Luke had an idea.
"Well if you want and if you trust me, I can do this for you while I'm here. I mean so far I had nothing to do, you can do your job, and maybe seeing a new authority face, they would know who's the boss here and show some respect. Especially being a man. No offense."
Anuska looked at him and a big smile appeared.
"Are you sure you don't mind?"
"Not it all. It should be fun seeing their faces when they see it is not you," he winked at her.
"You are the best," she said handling the tray and looking at the guards. "This is Cobb Vanth and he has green entrance to get inside the prison by my orders. Understood?"
"Yea ma'am." they said.
Looking back at Luke, Anuska smiled.
"Good luck," she said. "Lunch will be served soon. And it is the last door on the right."
"Thank you," he replied while watching Anuska leave.
Looking at the two guards, he made sure to see where they kept their weapons, but he was sure he had no problem to knock them out with the force.
Entering the long hallway, he saw iron doors left and right. Hearing the main door closing behind him, he walked fast towards the last door. He felt his daughter and nephew but, he also felt another person in that place. Another force sensitive.
Opening the door and entering the small room, he sighed in relieve when he saw his little girl and his nephew sitting at the corner holding each other.
"It is okay," he said closing the door behind him.
Putting the tray down, he walked towards Padmé and tried to pull the little girl into his arms, mas she started to scream and hitting him.
"Let me go."
"Let go my cousin," Ani said starting to kicking him.
"Will you two stop," he said grabbing both kids. "I'm not going to hurt you."
"Who are you?" Padmé asked.
"Sweetie is me. Papa!"
The little girl stop and looked at him with a confuse look on her face.
"No you are not. My Papa is Luke Skywalker."
"Yeah. You are not my uncle."
Luke tried everything not to laugh at that. Sometimes he even forgot he didn't look like him.
"I know. This is a disguise so the bad people can't recognize me. But it is me sweetie. I swear."
Padmé and Ani look at each other making Luke sighed.
"Fine. You two along side with your twin sister and your twin brother, decided to leave our Moisture Farm at the middle of the night because you want to see the canyon where I ran when I was 10 years old. Anakin was able to stop a womp rat until I cut him with my lightsaber. Which reminds me," and taking his lightsaber from behind his back, he showed the kids lighting it up, illuminating the room with its green light. "You don't like chocolate and things on your head and you love the Falcon. Besides your grandpa and uncle Ben were suppose to be here with you, so where are they?"
The moment he said that, Padmé and Ani smiled and ran towards Luke, who hugged them tightly.
"Papa."
"Uncle Luke."
Kissing the kids over and over again, Luke made them look at him.
"Are you okay?"
The kids nod and laughed when they touched his face.
"Is this a mask?" Ani asked.
"Not really buddy."
"Are you going have your face back?" Padmé asked.
"Aunt Ahsoka promised that. So don't worry."
"Are we going to go home?"
Luke missed the kids questions to be honest.
"Yes. We are going home tonight. So I need you to do me a favor, okay?"
The kids nod right away.
"First, Papa will be back at night when it is time for dinner and you need to be ready cause we need to run to the Boba's ship, okay."
"Okay," Ani said.
"Will Ezra can come too?" Padmé asked making Luke frown.
"Who?"
"Aunt Ahsoka friend. He is right there?" she point to the hole where he could see a small hole to the other room.
Approaching it, he looked through it saw a man, around his age with black hair.
"Ezra Bridger?"
The young man opened his eyes and looked at the hole.
"You are you?"
"Ezra is my Papa. I told you he would come."
"Luke Skywalker? I thought you were my age. You look older."
"Well it is me but not at the same time. I will explain later. Ahsoka is really worried about you."
"How is she?"
"She is okay. It would be a hell of surprise when she sees you."
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"We are going home," Ani said jumping.
"Yes, are you ready to go home?"
"Absolutely," Ezra said with a smile.
"Good, I will be back after dinner. Be ready," he said and looked back to the kids. "Now you need to eat this, and be patience and remember that here my name is Cobb. Not Papa or Uncle Luke. Got it."
"You got it Uncle Luke. I mean Cobb," Ani said showing his thumb, making Luke laughed and pulled the kids into his arms. "I love you. Now I have to go but I'll be back to get you back, all of you."
Kissing the kids forehead, Luke left the room. Tonight was the night to get everyone back home.
Finally Luke saw the kids and found Ezra. The plan is on the way.
