Episode 134: Nice Pryce, Baby!
After arriving in Mahogany Town where Mew hopes to earn her seventh badge, she and her friends come across Pryce, the gym leader. At first, Pryce coldy refuses Mew's challenge, saying she's too emotionally evolved with Pokemon to pose a worthwhile challenge. But thanks to Mew's bravery, quick thinking, and Pokemon prowess, saved Pryce's life. It's also revealed that Pryce was the masked man who captured Celebi in the GS Ball all those years ago, desperate to save his friendship with his Pokemon, Piloswine. However, Mew and her friends found Piloswine frozen and realized that the reason for its departure was to find herbs to heal his burns from years ago and ran into trouble. Mew and her friends managed to rescue and reunite Piloswine, and now the bitterness that had once hardened Pryce's heart melted away in gratitude. And with that, Pryce accepts Mew's challenge.
The next day, Mew is already dressed and is polishing her two Pokemon Eggs: the Ho-Oh Egg and the mysterious Crystalized Pokemon Egg. After polishing the eggs, Mew placed them in her bed. Then Pikachu and Eevee join Mew.
"Hey guys, are you ready for your Gym Battle?" Mew asks.
Pikachu and Eevee happily agree.
"You look pretty excited for your battle, Mew," Misty says.
"Yeah, but don't forget that Pryce is an ice Pokémon trainer," Brock says, "Have you been thinking of a strategy for how you'll battle him?"
"Yeah. I've been thinking about it. Since Pryce uses Ice Types, It's best to use Fire Types. However, I also need to keep in mind, Dewgong is also a Water Type. So Fighting, Rock, Grass, and Electric will be good too. As for Piloswine, it's kind of the same, but also with Steel and Fire," Mew says.
"Sounds like you have a lot to decide," Tomo says.
"You're right. Even though fire's a good choice against ice types, Piloswine and Dewgong are really, really strong," Misty says.
"Yeah. And I have to think about this carefully. On which Pokemon to really use and go from there. However, I have one Pokemon in mind," Mew says.
"And who's that?" Jen asks.
Mew winks, "Let's just say she really wants to give Gym Battles a try."
The group look confused and wonder who Mew has in mind.
Meanwhile, Sheila is seen as she watches Pryce brush his Piloswine.
"Yep. I figured I'd find you here," Sheila says.
Pryce laughs and says, "Piloswine and I have been together right here since yesterday."
"You were here all night without a coat?!" Sheila asks, shocked and shivers, "Brrr! I'm freezing just thinking about it!"
"Poor Piloswine was frozen in ice for years! A little night chill can't compare to that, right?" Pryce says.
Piloswine agrees.
"I reckon," Sheila says, "You know, watching you take care of your Piloswine again like that really takes me back to when we were both young'uns just getting started."
"It's taken all that's happened to show me, just as that block of ice kept my Piloswine in hibernation all of those years, my passion has been kept in hibernation as well," Pryce says.
"Uh, okay, Pryce, I'll just leave you and your theories out here with your Piloswine," Sheila says, a bit confused.
"I'm trying to convey my oneness with Piloswine," Pryce says.
"Hello? Would you mind translating all that gobbledy-gook for us little, old common folk here, huh, Einstein?" Sheila asks.
"I don't know, I just heard that on some daytime talk show," Pryce answers.
"Hi Pryce!" Mew calls out.
Both Pryce and Sheila look and realize Mew and the others have arrived.
"Hey, seems like your young challenger's arrived," Sheila says.
"You're right," Pryce says.
The gate to the gym opens for our heroes as Pryce and Sheila stand before them.
"Good morning!" Mew says, "How's Piloswine doing?"
"Piloswine is doing fine," Pryce says.
"Well, I'm back! I've come to challenge you for the Glacier badge," Mew says.
"Welcome to the Mahogany gym, Mew. Did you sleep alright?" Pryce says.
"Yeah! Me and my Pokémon are all ready to go!" Mew says.
"Well, you sure are fired up today. I'm looking forward to seeing what kinds of tricks you got under your hat," Sheila says.
As Sheila talks, Team Rocket spies nearby.
"So de old geezer is da gym leader?" Meowth replies, surprised.
"That makes sense, something was telling me that Pryce wasn't right," Jessie says.
"If I'd known he was a gym leader, I would've used completely different battle techniques!" James says.
Wobbuffet agrees, "Wobbu!" (Sure would!)
"Well, gym leader or not, let's go snoop around inside," Jessie says.
"Right!" The boys agree.
They soon head to the gate.
"Sneaking in doesn't seem to be much of a problem," James says.
"Den what do we do once we get in?" Meowth asks.
"Surely you jest," Jessie says, "That place will be pulsating with piles of plump Pokemon."
"She's right, cause wherever a successful gym leader may lead…" James says.
"Strong Pokemon are sure to follow!" Meowth says, and peeks over the wall, "Let's check out dis Poke-playground."
Meowth takes in the abundance of ice types, including several Shellder, four Seel, three Dewgong and a Lapras.
"Let's just say if ice types was money, we'd be skating in it!" Meowth says.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Jessie happily says.
"Oh, yeah! The ice Pokémon gravy train awaits!" James happily says.
"Next stop, winter wonderland!" Meowth says.
"Wobbuuuuufett! ("Let's get to it!") Wobbuffet agrees.
Meanwhile, inside the gym, our heroes get a look at the battlefield, which is completely covered in ice with a small pool in the middle.
"Now, I present to you, the Mahogany gym battlefield!" Pryce announces.
Everyone is astonished, "Whoa!"
"This is a battlefield?" Tomo asks, surprised.
"It's solid ice!" Brock says.
"It looks like you can ice skate on it," Molly says.
"No kidding. This is a challenge," Tomo says.
"I agree. This'll be a whole new experience for you, Mew." Misty says.
"I'll bet a victory could be determined just on how well you make use of that pool right in the center," Brock says.
"Now that you're settled in, shall we get started?" Pryce says.
"Sure," Mew says.
But Brock notices, "Excuse me, I'm afraid there's no one here to judge the match."
"Well, Brock, actually…" Pryce says.
Sheila laughs as she reveals she's the official for the match.
"I hate to be a-tootin my own horn and all, but…" Sheila says.
"But what, Sheila?" Jen says, confused.
"We'd love to hear what's so funny," Misty says.
"This pleasantly friendly woman, aside from the person you know, is one small part. One side, because I," Sheila says, and rips of clothes to reveal a referee uniform, "Am, in reality, an officially certified triple A judge for the Johto League!"
Everyone becomes puzzled by it.
"You're really an official judge, too, Sheila?" Molly asks, surprised.
"Wow. you're full of surprises," Mew says.
"That's right!" Pryce says, "So, if you're satisfied, let's get started."
"Right!" Mew says.
"I'm pleased to announce the opening of this battle!" Sheila says, "Each trainer will only use two Pokemon! The match will end when both Pokemon on either side have been declared unable to battle! The challenger is allowed to use a substitute Pokemon when necessary, but the gym leader is not! Alright, let's begin!"
Pryce then calls out, "Go, Dewgong!"
And with that, Dewgong comes out of the Pokeball and dives into the water.
"I knew he was going to be using that pool!" Mew says and calls out, "Cyndaquil, go!"
And with that, Cyndaquil comes out.
"So he's beginning with Cyndaquil, eh? I thought as much," Pryce says.
"You better be careful, Ash. Dewgong is an ice and water Pokémon," Misty says.
"Don't worry, I know," Mew says, then calls out, "Cyndaquil, let's go!"
Cyndaquil's back flames ignite.
"Yeah!" Mew cheers and calls out the first attack, "Okay, Cyndaquil, Flamethrower, now!
Cyndaquil launches the attack.
Pryce calls out, "Dodge it, Dewgong!"
Dewgong does so by ducking under water. Mew becomes serious to see it.
Then Pryce calls out, "Dewgong. Ice Beam, go!"
Dewgong fires the attack from underwater.
"Dodge it, Cyndaquil! Use the Ice to skate on it!" Mew calls out.
Cyndaquil begins to do just that. Cyndaquil tries to dodge the attack, but gets hit on the back and gets frozen.
"Cyndaquil!" Mew calls out.
Then Pryce calls out, "Now, Dewgong, finish it with Aurora Beam!"
Dewgong bursts to the surface and prepares to fire.
"Cyndaquil!" Misty cries out.
"Looks like this is it!" Brock says.
"Not unless, Mew turns this around," Tomo says.
"Quick, Cyndaquil, turn the flame on your back all the way up!" Mew calls out.
Cyndaquil does so, breaking free from the ice and dodging the attack in time, shocking both Pryce and Sheila.
"That was great, Cyndaquil," Mew says.
"Pika Pikachu!" (Good job, Cyndaquil!) Pikachu cheers.
"Eevee." (That was close.) Eevee says.
"Using Cyndaquil's flame to melt the ice was brilliant!" Brock says, amazed.
"Alright!" Jen cheers.
"So, Pryce, I guess that battle's just beginning," Mew says.
"Perfect," Pryce says, "I, too, enjoy using unconventional attacks." then calls out, "Dewgong, Aurora Beam one more time!"
Dewgong quickly fires.
"Dodge it and use Flamethrower!" Mew calls out.
Cyndaquil does so and fires.
Pryce calls out, "Dive underwater!"
Dewgong does so as the attack hits the water.
"Just what I was hoping for!" Mew says, "Cyndaquil, Quick Attack while Dewgong's under the water!"
Cyndaquil charges in.
"Oh, no! She wants Cyndaquil to go underwater!" Misty says, shocked.
"I guess Mew is going for a close range Quick Attack!" Brock says.
"But what if she's wrong? Can Cyndaquil move around well underwater?" Misty asks, worried.
Cyndaquil leaps, turns off its flames, and dives in the water.
"I'll say this, I have a lot of respect for Mew's originality. But this time, her strategy is off," Pryce says and calls out, "Dewgong, use Headbutt!"
Dewgong charges in.
Brock calls out, "Look out, Cyndnaquil! With that horn on Dewgong's head, its Headbutt could cause a lot more damage!"
"And Dewgong's moving super fast and right at Cyndaquil!" Misty calls out.
Mew says in thought, "Perfect. Dewgong thinks that battle's already over, and swimming way too close."
Then calls out, "Alright, Cyndaquil, Swift, let's go!"
Cyndaquil launches the attack and nails Dewgong, shocking Pryce while Dewgong flies out of the pool.
"Cyndaquil, finish it with Flamethrower!" Mew calls out.
Cyndaquil surfaces and fires, nailing Dewgong hard and sending it into an iceberg, knocking it out.
"Dewgong!" Pryce calls out.
Sheila announces, "Dewgong is unable to battle! Cyndaquil's the winner!"
"We did it, Cyndaquil! You were awesome!" Mew says.
Pikachu, Eevee, and the others cheer.
"Mew really took a chance on that one," Misty says.
However, Brock says, "I don't think Mew thought he was taking any chance at all, Misty."
"What do you mean?" Jen asks.
Brock then explains, "Pryce knew that Cyndaquil isn't very agile underwater, and so she had Dewgong for an attack at close range. But once Dewgong got within striking distance, Mew picked the perfect moment for Cyndaquil to launch a powerful Swift attack!"
"So Mew planned it?" Jen asks.
"It's a bit of a risk, but yeah. She planned it," Brock says.
Pryce calls back his Dewgong, "You did a good job, my friend. I can see, in order for attacks like that to work there must be complete trust between trainer and Pokemon, and Mew, it's obvious to me that you have that with all of your Pokémon. But enough of that! Let's move on!" Then calls out, "Piloswine, go!"
Piloswine then comes out.
"I knew I'd be seeing you, Piloswine," Mew says.
Then asks, "You up for another battle, Cyndaquil?"
Cyndaquil lights up its back flames, ready to battle.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket plans to make their move while the ice types sleep.
Meowth chuckles, "How sweet. What does sleeping ice beauties don't suspect is dat soon, dey'll all be swiped."
"Sweet! We've got more ices to choose from than a slurpee stand!" James happily says.
"Hey, since there's so many of them, maybe we should set aside a portion of them for ourselves," Jessie says.
James and Meowth look puzzled.
Jessie then explains, "We'll simply set aside some of these little ice-poke-sicles to bring to the boss but then we keep the ones we like best for us."
"What will we do with them?" James asks.
"Now introducing Team Rocket's frozen snack shack, featuring ice Pokemon ice cream!" Jessie says.
"Wobbuffet!" (Pretty cool!) Wobbuffet happily says.
Jessie continues, "We'll set up our first stand near Cianwood Beach where all the sun and fun seekers flock! Then, we'll plunge our profits into more and more places! Until we create a chain that crushes the competition!"
Enchanted, Meowth says, "Yeah! Show me da money!"
"Out of the red and into the black!" James says.
"And as soon as the boss sees how swiftly we've settled our dues debt, we'll bounce right back up to the tip top of the team heap!" Jessie says.
Team Rocket cheers, "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream!"
"Wobbuffet! ("That's chillin!") Wobbuffet says.
Meowth leaps out and starts running towards the slumbering ice types, but can't get very far due to his flat feet slipping on the ice until he trips and goes sliding right into a Seel, waking both it and the other ice Pokémon up.
Meowth quickly backs up, "Uh, hi there," He laughs sheepishly, "Well, da ting is, Jess looks just like yous in da morning."
James and Jessie are puzzled, particularly Jessie.
"Come on, now. You know you are a bit cranky before that first cup of coffee," James says.
"Wobbuffet!" (James is right!) Wobbuffet says.
Jessie angrily shouts, "Back up! What did you say?!"
Jessie looks and sees all the ice types glaring at all three of them whilst also surrounding them.
Meowth screams, "Dey ain't liking our business plan!"
A Seel, Dewgong and the Lapras each fire an Ice Beam at the threesome as they scream in panic.
Back in the gym, Mew is continuing her gym match.
Misty turns to Brock, "What's the matter, Brock?"
"It's just, that Piloswine's gonna have the same trouble with that pool as Cyndaquil," Brock says.
"You're right. Neither one of them is very good in the water," Misty says.
"Makes me wonder what sort of strategy Pryce has in mind," Brock says.
"And we saw how strong Piloswine is from yesterday," Jen says.
"I wonder what Mew is going to do," Molly says.
"I'm sure she'll think of something," Tomo says.
Sheila announces, "Piloswine vs Cyndaquil! Let's begin!"
Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, Flamethrower!"
Cyndaquil charges in.
"Piloswine, Blizzard!" Pryce calls out.
Piloswine fires the attack with such force that everyone fields it.
"This Blizzard's unbelievable!" Brock cries out.
As for Pryce, the Blizzard seems to make him disappear.
"I can't see a thing!" Mew says.
Then Pryce calls out, "Piloswine, Takedown!"
Piloswine darts in and nails Cyndaquil, sending it crashing through an iceberg and knocking it out.
"Cyndaquil!" Mew cries out.
Sheila announces, "Cyndaquil is unable to battle! Piloswine's the winner!"
"What in the…?" Mew asks, shocked.
"But what about that pool in the center of the field?!" Misty asks, shocked.
"How did Piloswine use Take Down on the water?!" Brock asks, shocked.
Tomo soon notices, "Guys, look!"
Everyone sees the pool has been frozen solid.
"Look at the pool! It's solid ice!" Mew says.
"That Blizzard attack must've frozen it!" Misty says.
"He changed the field to his own advantage!" Brock says.
Mew calls back her Pokemon, "Return, Cyndaquil." and Cyndaquil is back in the Pokeball, "You were great, now take a nice, long rest."
She then takes another Pokeball, "I hope you're ready because this is your first Gym Battle."
"I wonder who Mew is choosing next," Molly wonders.
"Knowing Mew, she has a plan," Tomo says.
Mew then calls out, "Go Celebi!"
And soon, Celebi comes out of the Pokeball.
"Celebi?!" Everyone replies in shock.
"Well, this is certainly unexpected," Pryce says.
"Yeah. Celebi actually wanted to battle in a gym battle. So she likes to make this her debut," Mew says.
Celebi nods, "Yes. I asked Mew if I can battle your Piloswine if you plan to use it."
"Well then, I'll make sure to not disappoint you," Pryce says.
"Wow. I didn't expect Mew to use Celebi," Tomo says.
"I wonder how this is going to turn out," Jen replies.
"Well, Piloswine is an Ice and Ground Type and is weak against Grass Types. Celebi is a Grass and Psychic Type, but is weak against Ice Type, even though she's a Mythical Pokemon," Brock says.
"So this match will really determine the winner," Molly says.
"Yeah," Brock says.
Sheila announces, "It's match number three! Let's begin!"
Mew calls out, "Alright Celebi, let's start with Magical Leaf!"
Pryce calls out, "Piloswine, use Blizzard!"
Piloswine begins to use Blizzard, freezing the Magical Leaf.
Mew calls out, "Quick, use Safeguard!"
Celebi quickly uses the safeguard and it freezes the front of the Safeguard. Celebi soon begins to fly around as Piloswine continues to use Blitzard. Celebi dodges the attack, but her wings begin to feel the chills and begin to fall. Celebi mananges to land on her feet, but begins to slip on the ice.
"Oh no!" Mew cries out.
"I think Celebi's wings got stiff from the Blizzard. She can't fly," Brock says.
Celebi manages to stop in front of an ice block, but turns to see Piloswin coming towards her.
"Look out!" Jen cries out.
Mew calls out, "Celebi, dodge it!"
Celebi does so, but feels the impact of Piloswine hitting and smashing the iceberg, but slips on the ice as he tries to recover.
"Blizzard, Piloswine!" Pryce calls out.
Piloswine launches the attack.
"Blizzard again?!" Misty exclaims.
Mew calls out, "Celebi, use Shock Wave!"
Celebi tries to use her footing to push herself to Piloswine for the attack, and launches it once he's nose to nose with Piloswine, with the ensuing explosion sending him flying. When the smoke clears, Piloswine is shown to be unscathed.
"Piloswine isn't phased one bit!" Molly says, shocked.
"You're right. All Thunder did was stop Piloswine's blizzard!" Brock says.
"What's my next move gonna be?" Mew wonders.
Celebi soon comes to a stop in front of another iceberg.
And soon, Mew prompted for an idea, "Maybe. Those ice pillars! It just might work! Yeah!"
"Celebi, I got a plan!" Mew calls out.
"Key," Celebi answers.
"Alright, Piloswine, you gotta strike first!" Pryce calls out.
Piloswine charges.
"Alright Celebi, use Aerial Ace to help skate on the ice!" Mew calls out.
Celebi then flaps her wings, and it's enough to get the Aerial Ace moving, and dart forward. It may be enough for her to fly, but it's enough for her to move to the ice.
"Huh?!" Misty, Jen and Molly say, confused.
Brock and Tomo add, "Aerial Ace?!"
"Piloswine, center in and use Blizzard!" Pryce calls out.
Piloswine then launches the attack.
"Slide away to dodge it!" Mew calls out.
Celebi slides underneath the oncoming attack and straight under Piloswine, surprising everyone
"Wha?!" Pryce exclaims.
"Celebi slid right under Piloswine!" Misty says.
"Whoa! That's slick thinking!" Sheila says, surprised.
Evee slides right back out through Piloswine's back legs.
Pryce calls out, "Don't let Celebi go!"
Piloswine fires another Blizzard, but Celebi dodges again and again.
"I get it! Ash and Celebi are using those ice pillars like they're playing bumper pool!" Brock says.
"And Celebi was able to have enough from her wings to use Aerial Ace to gain speed and balance on the ice.
"Wow! So the quicker Celebi slides around, the easier it is to change directions!" Misty says.
Eevee soon darts around.
Pryce calls out, ""Now use your Blizzard attack on the entire field, Piloswine!"
Piloswine does so.
"Slide right under it again, Celebi!" Mew calls out.
Celebi does so to the shock of both Pryce and Piloswine.
"Now Celebi! Use Leaf Storm!" Mew calls out.
From underneath Piloswine's furry body, Celebi launches the attack, sending Piloswing off of Celebi and lands on the ice, much to Pryce's horror.
"Piloswine!" Pryce cries out.
"Alright!" Mew cheers.
"It's really working!" Tomo cheers.
Celebi then skates back and looks to see Piloswine battered and beaten.
"Okay, Rest, Piloswine!" Pryce says.
Piloswine starts regaining its strength.
"What now?" Misty asks.
"Not good. Piloswine is gaining back energy by using Rest," Brock says.
"Not if I can stop it first!" Mew says, "Celebi, use Magical Leaf!"
Celebi uses Magical Leaf to attack, but Piloswine gets back in the fight.
Oh no!" Mew cries out.
"Piloswine, Blizzard!" Pryce calls out.
Piloswine uses the attack and freezes the Magical Leaf.
"Use Fury Attack!" Pryce says.
Piloswine then strikes at Celebi.
Then Pryce says, "Follow it up with Take Down!"
Piloswine charges in and nails Celebi."
"Looks like Piloswine's back up to full power," Misty says.
"Piloswine may be getting stronger, but Celebi's not. I wonder if Celebi has the strength to keep going," Brock says.
Soon, Celebi lands on the ground.
"Celebi!" Mew calls out.
"Are you ready to throw in the towel, Mew?" Pryce asks.
Celebi barely manages to get up.
Mew calls out,"Celebi, do you feel okay to go on?"
Celebi nods, "Yes. I do."
"Yeah! We're back! And we still have a chance to win this one!" Mew says.
"She's a brave trainer. But a truly wise trainer would know when to accept his defeat and bow out gracefully," Pryce says.
"Resume the battle!" Sheila says.
Mew calls out, "Alright Celebi, use Aerial Ace."
Celebi begins flapping her wings and is able to fly again, and flies towards Piloswine.
"Piloswine, Fury Attack!" Pryce calls out.
Piloswine charges in, but Celebi strikes first, nailing Piloswine in the nose, forcing it back a bit.
"Now, use Magical Leaf!" Mew calls out.
Celebi fires the attack and pushes Piloswine back
"It's barely doing anything!" Brock says.
Piloswine shakes it off.
"It's like nothing happened!" Misty says.
Pryce calls out, "Take Down, now!"
Piloswine charges in.
"Here it comes! Now when Piloswine's real close, use Shock Wave!" Mew calls out.
"Right!" Celebi says.
At the right moment, Celebi jumps onto Piloswine's face and launches the attack.
"Well, it looks like that time, Thunder worked!" Misty says.
"Talk about in your face!" Brock says.
The icy ground underneath Piloswine gives way, sending it and Celebi into the water.
"Celebi!" Mew calls out.
"No!" Pryce calls out.
Celebi and Piloswine surfaces. Celebi is able to take flight, but still feels the chill.
"Alright Celebi, use Shock Wave once more!" Mew calls out.
Celebi launches and nails Piloswine harder than before.
"Celebi used Shock Wave while Piloswine was soaking wet, making its strength double!" Brock says.
However Piloswine shakes it off.
"Piloswine's back!" Misty says.
"Yeah? Not for long!" Mew says.
Piloswine, Fury Attack!" Pryce calls out.
"Celebi, use Safeguard!" Mew calls out.
Celebi sues Safeguard as Piloswine lands rapidly and repeatedly.
"Dodge it. Please, please dodge it!" Mew says
"It can't get itself back under control from the Safeguard!" Brock says.
"Celebi, use Energy Ball!" Mew calls out.
Celebi uses the attack and it lands while Pryce contemplates how Piloswine feels as an explosion occurs, sending Celebi back, and struggles to stand again.
"Are you okay, Celebi?" Mew asks.
"It looks like Celebi is totally exhausted. Those attacks really took their toll," Brock says.
"Yeah, but take a look at Piloswine. It looks like it can still battle," Misty says.
Pryce is shown to be thinking about what to do next.
"You okay Celebi, can you still battle?" Mew asks.
Celebi struggles, but is able to stand and take flight.
Celebi nods, "I'm good. I think I can hold on a little longer."
"As long as you're sure," Mew says.
Celebi nods in reply, "I'm sure.
Suddenly, "Hold it!" and soon a towel flies through the air.
To Mew and Celebi's shock, they see that Pryce is throwing the towel.
Sheila announces, "Pryce's Piloswine is eliminated from the match by means of a TKO! Celebi and Mew are the winners!"
"What?" Mew says, confused.
"By a TKO?" Misty replies.
Pryce then says, "Piloswine has had enough, so I used a technical knockout. You battled fiercely and bravely, my old friend, and I'm so very, very proud of you."
"You got me again, Pryce," Sheila says, "The way you kept a cool head and knew when to call it quits in the middle of all that battling was something!"
"I guess there's a lot more to battling than just the battle," Misty says.
"Sometimes, the hardest part of the battle, is knowing when it's pointless to continue on, even if it means giving up the chance for victory in the process," Brock says.
Pryce approaches Ash, "Well done, Ash. Excellent job," And hands Mew something, "I believe this badge is yours. This Glacier badge is proof that you were victorious in my gym."
They look to see the Glacier Badge, a hexagon with a snowflake design.
"Are you sure?" Mew asks.
"Oh, I'm sure he's sure, Mew," Sheila says, "It's as plain as the nose on your face you know what you're doing out there. You were very impressive, and Pryce recognized your abilities."
"The attack combinations you used and the unexpected strategies, that worked so well because, you're close to your Pokemon. This badge is truly yours," Pryce says.
Mew takes the badge, "Thank you, Pryce."
"Awesome battling, Mew," Brock says.
"Although it was kind of a slippery slope there for a while," Mew says.
"That means you got seven badges," Tomo says.
"And you only need one more," Jen says.
"Yeah, and you can get your next one at the Blackthorn City gym," Brock says.
"They're right, guys. Only one badge left to go," Molly says.
"Yeah. Our next stop for a gym battle is Blackthorn City," Mew says.
"I have no doubts at all, Mew. I believe in you. I think we've both learned just how important friendship with our Pokemon really is," Pryce says.
" Thank you. You can count on me, Pryce," Mew says.
Now that Mew has won her Glacier Badge, she and her friends will soon be set off to Blackthorn City. They take warm memories, new friendships, and some hard earned wisdom.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket is seen to still be frozen solid among Pryce's Pokemon.
"By my calculations, the sun should have us melted out of here in about five days," Jessie asks.
"Well, Jessie, I've always thought so before this, but now the whole world can see that you really are an ice queen," James says.
"Looks who's talkin! From all da hot air dat yous two have, why aren't we melting faster? Keep yakin!" Meowth cries out.
"Wooobuffet (I'm freezing.) Wobbuffet cries out.
And at Mahogany Town's Pokemon Center, Mew and her friends decide to stay there. One to get some good rest.
Another reason why they decide to stay, "ACHOO!"
Celebi is tucked in the covers of one of the beds. Her face and head looks warm. After battling a Pokemon that uses a lot of Ice Attacks and getting dunked in icy water, Celebi ends up with a very bad cold so she needs to stay in bed.
Mew presents a spoon of soup, "Here Celebi, Brock has made some nice hot soup."
"Thank you," Celebi says.
Celebi gently takes a sip of the soup.
"You really did great today," Mew says.
"Yeah, but I didn't expect to get sick," Celebi says.
She then smiles, "But I'm really glad I'm able to battle."
"Yeah. You did great out there," Mew says.
"Once you finish your soup, you just get a good night's rest," Mew says.
Celebi happily nods as Mew continues to feed the soup. After the battle she has, Celebi deserves to have a goodnight's rest.
