Chapter 1: The boy with nothing.
The village hidden in the leaves otherwise known as Konoha is a bustling village with things to do and opportunities at any place you can think of. From the shop keepers and merchants to the civilians to even the Shinobi and Hokage. This truly was a place to experience. Unless you were a young boy by the name of Naruto Uzumaki.
Naruto Uzumaki. A 7 year old boy with Red hair, purple eyes, and whiskers on his cheeks. Naruto knew he wasn't normal. Even as a young child he knew that he was different. Everyone avoided him, ignored him and some even would go out of their way to harm him. While this wasn't a common occurrence it happened enough times to where the Hokage had sent some Anbu to watch over him just as a precaution and it seems to have worked since the last time some one tried to even touch him was met by an Anbu who took the man into custody and left. Not without waving bye and offering him a piece of candy. Naruto wanted to say thank you but due to never speaking much he couldn't get the words out. He isn't mute. It's just that when you spend your time alone you don't end up saying anything because who are you talking to other than yourself.
Naruto woke up in the small cramped apartment he called "home", but to him it wasn't really a home. He just stayed there. Sitting up he realized how early it was. At least for him. It was 8:23am normally on Saturdays he doesn't wake up until 9 to 9:30 it just depends on how he's feeling. He remembered he has a meeting with the hokage at 10. He smiled. The hokage. The man he calls grandpa. Naruto doesn't have a family at least not one he knows of so he got really attached to the only person willing to spend time with him. Even though he saw him on Thursday for dinner. He was excited. He got up and headed to the shower. He took his time to make sure he was clean so he wouldn't embarrass himself. After his shower he got dressed in some Black shorts, white t-shirt with the konoha leaf symbol on the back that his grandpa had given him for his birthday, and finally his sandals. He also made sure to clean his room before he left. He was currently staring at two things in his room at the moment. Gifts to be exact. From people he'd never met before. One was a toad themed stuffed animal and the other was a little toy that was a dog he wasn't sure who gifted them these things. He just found them in front of his door after he had gotten back from wandering the Forrest.
He left around 9:25 so he would make it early to his visit. As he left he remembered to lock the door. This was something the hokage told him to do before he went to sleep or leave the apartment as he can't watch over him 24/7. As he made his way quickly through konoha he was seeing a lot of familiar faces and NONE were exactly happy to see him, but he didn't mind since he wasn't running around to make friends right now. He was going to see his grandpa. Some people were surprised to see him move so fast. Even for a kid he was super fast. He could out run most adults and shinobi other than most of the jonin but a lot of the anbu weren't able to keep up with his speed either. He arrived at the hokage mansion and walked up to the secretary.
He analyzed her before saying anything. He realized he'd never spoken to her a lot and at the very least started a conversation with this woman or ANYONE that wasn't the hokage in fact. So he wasn't quite sure as to what to do. He looked at the name plate on the desk Mai Suzuki.
It took all the strength in his system to get out the very powerful sentence. "Hi" he said shyly and in a very low tone he wouldn't be surprised if the receptionist didn't hear him or even notice him.
The receptionist looked away from her paperwork to see a young boy with red hair and purple eyes twiddling with his hands as if he was unsure as to where to put them. She knew him everyone knew him and unlike almost every other villager she didn't hate him. She also didn't know him very well but the Hokage always spoke of him in such high regards how could she not see the good in the boy.
"Good morning Naruto-chan you're here early it's not Tuesday or Thursday so do you have a meeting?" She said with a smile.
"Yes grandpa said to be here at 10." And he smiled very brightly. The receptionist smile had grown even softer looking at the young boy referring the strongest man in Konoha as "grandpa" and paged the hokage to let him know that Naruto was here. A minute went by before she was informed to let him in.
"Naruto-chan the hokage will see you now." She smiled and giggled as he fumbled to put away the stuff that he had in his pockets.
He walked over to her and looked at the floor with red cheeks and in a very low tone he spoke. "Thank you miss."
"You're very welcome sweetie" she told him and he was now even more embarrassed as he walked over to the hokage office.
Naruto stood in front of the door for a few seconds and hesitated to knock because he heard talking but he knocked anyway.
A powerful but kind voice was heard from beyond the door. "Come in."
