Planet Dumassas
A brief history of the planet.

Dumassas, the name for both the system and its capital world, was founded during the last centuries of the Age of War, and would be the capital of the Dumassas Union, a sub-nation within the Taurian Concordat. The Dumassas Union was founded as a secondary governing hub, being on the far edge of the Taurian Concordat, and in the age before the invention of the Hyper-Pulse Generator, allowed the Taurian Concordat to be better able to govern its people without overreaching or trampling upon the rights of the people. The Dumassas Union would grow in both success and power, to the point where locally, some considered the Union as a possible candidate for secession if it ever became necessary. However, all surviving records indicate this was little more than a 'what if' thought, with no serious considerations ever given to such ideas.
Dumassas was chosen as the capital world because of its own history before the founding of the Union, growing rapidly in population and technological capability, the world possessed a bustling infrastructure that produced all manner of goods for the Concordat, manufacturing civilian, military, and industrial goods of all types. It must be noted that while it was populous, compared to the rest of the Concordat, it was only sparsely populated, and as time went on, this would prove to be both a boon for the nation, and a drawback.
This industrial capacity would be preserved and expanded during and after the Reunification war respectively, not only supplying the Union and the Concordat, but the Star League Defense Force as well. Being the capital world, and located near the borders between the Concordat and the Federated Suns, it was also a major trade hub, with merchants routinely passing through the system in large numbers for a periphery region.
At some point following the Reunification War, Dumassas became the location of a major Star League Resupply and Logistics Hub. A major installation, it drew upon the industrial centers of the Dumassas system and other systems, including the Terran Hegemony. This Hub could refit, repair, and resupply SLDF dropships and their entire complements as needed, it has even been inferred that this included SLDF Royal Divisions. The planet itself was, compared to the rest of the Concordat, highly accepting of the Star League, due to the actions of both the local power-structure, and the SLDF itself.
The reason for this being that the AFFS auxiliary forces under SLDF command made efforts to target and eliminate the most ruthless and corrupt elements of the local power structure, and limited the collateral damage of the single major battle fought on the world to only military units. The removal of the corrupt and malicious elements of the local leadership endeared the local population more to the Star League than the rest of the Concordat, creating the basis for future decisions.
The Hub, whose proper title has been lost to time, was capable of supporting up to five Colossus-class dropships at a single time, with auxiliary landing pads for three smaller dropships such as Unions and Overlords as well. The remains of numerous hangars also indicate it had the capacity of refitting and repairing an entire brigade's worth of armored vehicles, aerospace fighters, and battlemechs. This is in addition to the expansion of local industries by foreign investors and the establishment of branch offices opening their own factories on the world. According to surviving historical documents from the era, some economists began theorizing that the Star League may establish dockyards for the repair and refit of Jumpships and Warships in the planet's orbit, though for obvious reasons, this never came to pass.
The actions of the SLDF's auxiliary forces during the Reunification War, along with the mass influx of resources and funding as the result of the Hub's creation, and the accompanying shore-leave from SLDF forces resupplying there, made the population very receptive of SLDF traffic.
During the Periphery Uprising, Dumassas became a lynchpin in the SLDF's ability to resupply and maintain its ground forces, as it was one of the only major periphery worlds that did not take part in the Uprising. Indeed, the planet was deemed safe and loyal enough to the Star League that the 331st Battle Regiment was reassigned offworld in 2765. For the rest of the Uprising, the planet would see a regular flow of parts and materials, up until the end of the Periphery Uprising, and the start of the Amaris Civil War.
General Kerensky, juggling the multitude of concerns and considerations before him, made a deal with the Dumassas government regarding the Hub. He would order that all spare parts, munitions, equipment and stockpiles be taken from the Hub for his forces. In exchange, the entirety of the Hub, including its repair and refit facilities, would enter the stewardship of the Dumassas Union. Any further details regarding this deal have been lost, purged, intentionally destroyed, or were never recorded at all. The only certainty being the Dumassas Union agreed to the deal, taking control of the Hub and all facilities forthwith, with the SLDF taking everything for their forces.
The Taurian Concordat would begin moving their own forces to the Hub and utilizing the facilities there, only taking full possession in all regards near the end of the Amaris Civil War, during the last stages of Operation Chieftain. Utilizing the full capabilities of the planet and its nature, the Taurian Concordat would do their best to recuperate their numbers and economy.
However, this bounty would not last through the Succession Wars. Over the course of the first Three Succession Wars, the Concordat would relocate many of the facilities and factories on the world to locations deeper with the Concordat and closer to Taurus, lowering the world's value. This decrease was only exacerbated by pirate attacks and raids by mercenary forces seizing materials and supplies from the world. By the end of the Second Succession War, the world had been considerably looted or its facilities otherwise relocated.
Curiously, the world never saw the scale of obliteration many other worlds witnessed in the battle for its assets. The worst of the damage was the annihilation of a handful of its cities where battlemech construction and repair was concentrated, at the Logistics Hub itself, which received a relatively mild orbital bombardment. The Hub was still, ultimately, ruined beyond recovery, due to the advent of LosTech, but the people and planet were largely left intact.
During the Third Succession War, the Concordat slowly began to retract its borders, being unable to protect all of its holdings, particularly those in proximity to the Badlands regions of space. Sensing an opportunity, the Federated Suns attempted to annex the planet in 2950, to add its own industrial capacity to the Outback March. The Taurians, seeing that they would be unable to hold the planet entirely, decided to enact a scorched earth policy, and quite literally at that.
What few factories remained that produced critical parts such as components for fusion engines,PPCs, and single heat-sinks, along with the Hub, were evacuated and destroyed by the TDF (Taurian Defense Force) through the use of tactical nuclear weapons every time the AFFS (Armed Forces of the Federated Suns) closed on the either location. This state of affairs only continued for a short while until one of these tactical warheads was detonated in relatively close proximity to the HPG on Dumassas.
ComStar was forced to step-in, demanding a cease to hostilities lest both sides suffer the consequences from ComStar for their actions. With both the Federated Suns and the Taurian Concordat not wanting to be subjected to an Interdiction, they grudgingly submitted to ComStar's demands. The AFFS would abandon all claim to the planet, including any and salvage they may have claimed throughout the campaign, while the Taurian Concordat would pay for the decommissioning of the HPG station on Dumassas, and thus the only Class-A HPG in the region, and both sides would pay reparations for the damages caused to ComStar by the fighting.
By 2962, the only major facilities left on the world were repair and refit facilities for various classes of ground combat vehicles, small arms manufacturing, ammunition production for autocannons, SRMs, and LRMs, and minor component production. As well as a severely reduced population and agricultural sector due to the nuclear fallout.
This is the last known report on the Planet.

A/N: This is my personal canon for the world of Dumassas and some of its history.
Hopefully nothing too glaring or plot-holes have appeared.
Credit to knolden once again for helping me out with this.
If anyone has any requests for any informational posts on anything that doesn't have a canon wikipedia post or anything, let me know and I may create something.
