Please R & R
…..
On the way to Ace's, Ryan is following closely behind the car and he thinks he sees the moment when Ace leans over to kiss Graham's cheek. Then at the next light he watches as Graham lifts their clasped hands to his lips. "Just get married you two," Ryan says out loud in his car. When they pull up Ryan waits in his car until the other to get out of theirs. Ryan meets them at the door.
"Welcome to my abode," Ace says as they walk in.
"Ryan, would you like dinner soon or in a while."
"I am a little hungry, but I can wait."
"Ok," they all move to the living room Ace and Graham on the couch being careful not to touch.
"I don't care if the two of you cuddle." Ace and Graham chuckle slightly.
"Are we that obvious," Graham asks the younger man.
"Yes, you are." Ryan decides not to tell them what he saw on the way there.
"Ryan, Graham has told me about some of your travels since leaving the TARDIS, but he hasn't told me one of your favorites."
"I haven't told him, that's why."
"Why not," Graham who is now intrigued.
"I met a new friend."
"What's their name?"
"Her name is Maria, when she found out I knew the Doctor, she asked me about a woman named Sarah Jane."
"She died a few years ago, loved by everyone who met her; especially the Professor."
"In what way?"
"Not in the way she loved Yaz if you are wondering, the two of them were more than close and the Professor even told me during one of the times the two of us got thrown in an alien jail that more than everyone they had traveled with up to then, he missed Sarah Jane."
"Did you ever meet her?"
"Once, after her funeral I got K9."
"Maria told me a little bit about K9."
"Where is he anyway," Graham asks Ace.
"Luke asked if he could borrow him."
"Sarah Jane's son?"
"The one in the same, a few weeks ago he came by the house while you were at the store. K9 scanned him first and knew it was Luke."
"Did you ask why he needed K9?"
"No, I trust him, Sarah Jane raised him the right way."
"Ok." The three of them sit and talk for a bit until Graham stands up, "I am going to start dinner."
"Want help Grandad?"
Before Graham can reply, "you may be family, but you are still a guest."
"I guess that answers your question, Honey."
"I would love to help you."
"I promise I won't help unless asked, but is there somewhere I can sit in there?"
"There is, come on Ryan." The three of them make their way to the kitchen. "Ryan there seems to be more than friendship between you and this Maria."
"Right now only friends. We talk a few times a month." Ace and Graham share a look, "the two of you were talking every day."
"We know, well it did take a few weeks until it got to that point."
"By the way Grandad talked about you; I don't think it did." Ace looks at Graham. "Ryan, I just saw the Doctor again and met these two women Ace and Tegan. Ace wears a jacket with her name on it. How cool is that? She has this homemade explosive called Nitro-9 or Nitro-999," Ryan tries to imitate Graham.
"Anything else?" Graham turns and faces his Grandson and the woman who has his heart with wide eyes, "by that reaction I think so."
"He said you had gorgeous eyes and an amazing voice."
"Really," Ace fully faces Graham, "my voice."
"Yeah."
"My eyes."
"He also talked about your hair and how it glowed by lava light and TARDIS."
"Glowed?"
Graham very quietly says, "you are always glowing to me."
"What was that?"
"Nothing." Ace steps closer to him and brings his lips to her in a quick kiss.
"I love you too." They start cooking dinner. Ryan sits back and watches the show in front of him that looks like a well-practiced dance of Ace and Graham in the kitchen and cooking together.
"How often do the two of you cook together?"
"Every Sunday, and some Saturdays, why," Ace asks as she moves around Graham to put in some seasoning in the dish.
"Why only some?"
"We have tried to go out on a few dates."
"With everything with that guy."
"We drive to different cities each time, so no need to worry about me."
"You are my Grandad, of course I worry."
"Graham, you have two people in this room that love you."
"I know that Ace, and I love the two people in this room." Graham refocuses on cooking dinner. "Honey dinner is almost done, why don't you take a load off." Ace purses her lips together and gets the plates out to set the table. "Ace, taste this," Graham holds a spoon out for her. Ryan watches with wide eyes.
"Thank you."
"What are you saying thank you for?"
"He made the sauce vegan."
"Don't worry Ryan, I am also making some chicken for the two of us."
"Ok."
"I have told Graham that it is ok to cook meat here, I just won't eat any. I am vegan."
"Now I understand the sauce comment."
"Though I do not eat meat too often anymore, maybe once a week, when I know Ace is going to be late I make myself some steak then make sure everything gets washed."
"Please don't tell me anything else beyond that."
"We won't." The three of them eat their meal and have some small chatter.
A few hours later Ryan makes his leave, "it was nice meeting you Ace."
"It was nice meeting you too Ryan."
"Call me when you get home, son."
"I will." After Ace and Graham are alone Ace takes Graham's hand and brings him to the couch.
"Sit." Graham does as told and Ace sits and leans against him, "you were that enamored from the beginning."
"I was and still am. I grow more each and every day."
"If I am honest, I was enamored with you too. That little scream and how you tried to trick me."
"I didn't know you knew the Doc and my first goal was trying to protect anyone who didn't know who they were. I quickly learned that you are more than capable of taking care of those Daleks."
"Though you did start flirting right away."
"Me, what about you?"
"Me," Ace makes her voice go high, "I never flirt."
"Never? I have a feeling all of our friends will attest to that," Graham goes in to kiss her.
