Dr. Jungle frowned as she exclaimed Moonlight.
"Kala, Kerchak," she said, "Follow me."
Kala and Kerchak followed Dr. Jungle out to the waiting room. Moonlight fell into a light sleep as Kala rocked her.
"What's wrong with Moonlight Dr. Jungle," Kerchak asked.
Dr. Jungle sighed.
"Has she been stung by a bee recently?" she asked.
"Six moons ago," Kerchak replied, "It was a hornet."
"It carried Jungle Fever," Dr. Jungle explained, "She needs the antidote."
Kala looked worried. Dr. Jungle got out the cream and put it on the angry mark that still was on Moonlight. Moonlight woke up at the sting the cream made. She whimpered but did not wail.
"I want you to bring her back in 3 days," Dr. Jungle said.
"Thank you, Dr. Jungle," Kala said.
Moonlight smiled.
"Mommy," she said.
Dr. Jungle raised her eyebrows.
"She talks?" she asked.
"Yes," Kerchak said, "She says, "Mommy, Daddy, Terk, and Moonlight."
"How old is she?"
"She's a little more than a month old," Kala said proudly.
"She's advanced," Dr. Jungle said impressed, "Most gorillas don't start talking until they are six months or more."
…
"Hurry up guys," Terk said, "We have to get the food for tonight."
"You're right," Puna said, "What should we get."
Terk looked over and saw a tree full of bananas.
"Let's pick the bananas from the tree," she suggested.
Puna climbed the tree and selected 100 bananas. Suddenly the gorilla Kala fought, and her mate came to steal the bananas.
Terk stepped in front of her.
"Excuse me," she said, "I am in charge today and I say you can't steal our food."
Goaleza laughed.
"What makes you think I'm going to answer to a kid," she asked.
"You'll answer to the whole family," Kerchak said as he came back up to the nesting spot.
"Please," Gobel said laughing, "I stole bananas before and so has my mate."
"We'll be happy to share," Terk said, "But you cannot have it. It is not yours to take."
"Fine," Gobel said, "Give us half your bananas."
"You can join us for dinner," Terk said, "But we're not giving you ½ of the bananas we worked hard for."
Goaleza nodded.
"We'll be back soon," she said.
She and her mate left. Kerchak cleared his throat.
