Mount Justice
"Pineapple juice?" Captain Marvel offered Wally a drink with an umbrella in it for decor.
Wally took a smooth sip, and was at ease, "Ahh that's just what the doctor ordered."
"How's the arm doing, Wally?"
"Nothing, wrong nachos can't cure." Wally added as he reclined in his seat.
"Nachos? Oh! I'll get you some." Captain Marvel flew out to the kitchens as Robin fumbled to the floor.
"OK, wally you need to stop ordering Captain Marvel around like a butler."
"If I recall when the Brain hurt you you had everything handed to you on a silver platter while you recovered." Wally argued.
"That's different Wally, you're not drained of blood, you still have one good arm and two working legs. And I'm getting tired of talking about my blood it's unsettling." Wonder Boy complained.
"Fine, I'll stop, and go train. I've got nachos on my way." Wally put his hands over his head.
Wonder Boy rolled his eyes, and resumed sparring with Kara.
"Alright Kara, let's resume."
Kara smirked raising her fits up she charged at Trevor only for her attack to be easily dodged. Trevor followed with another kick but dodged it with ease, but didn't act with a deflection.
Kara made another attempt at landing a punch at Trevor this time using superspeed but even with that ability combined with her strength wasn't hard for Trevor to block, "How is it for a girl with superspeed you haven't been able to land a single punch on me yet?" Trevor joked, blocking another of Kara's punches with his shield.
"I'm trying not to make the same mistakes as before." Kara plainly said.
"What? Time out, time out." Trevor needed to hear this.
"You heard Batman the other day, I lose control again, and I get fired from the team. Permanently. So I'm being careful keeping myself in check." Kara was serious.
Trevor understood where Kara was coming from, "Kara, I get it, you're back with us, and you don't want to lose that. But don't hold yourself back our enemies aren't gonna hold back." Trevor explained.
"I know, this whole thing hanging over me is hard. I don't want to be kicked out of the team again." Kara explained.
Observing the team's training, Black Canary overhears the concerns of the young Kryptonian. Luckily her anchor to reality is always beside her to listen to her, "Sweet kid." Dinah whispered.
"Hey I was thinking after this we could watch a movie, what do you say?" Trevor offered as he blocked Kara's kick.
"What? You're seriously asking me this in the middle of training?" Kara asked.
Black Canary took mental notes on the ongoing conversation she's hearing.
"No, I just. I found this cool alien scifi movie, thought you'd like to watch it with me." Trevor defended.
"Oh because I'm an alien you think I'll like alien movies?" Kara asked.
"Kara you know that's not what I meant." Trevor stated.
"I'm sorry, that was harsh. We'll talk about this later, okay?" Kara asked.
"Of course." Trevor smiled.
"Okay, again." Kara was glowing with confidence.
Kara struck first and this time she put in some extra effort. Trevor was a little proud of her, and Black Canary can see their support. Kara then unleashed a flurry of punches, all of them parried, but with minimal red eyes, just barely.
Before Kara could land a punch Trevor grabbed Kara's hand and threw her out of the training ring. "That was good almost got me. But remember I may not be as strong as you but I'm a lot more skilled than you." Trevor offered a hand out for his friend.
Kara nodded accepting his hand. "I know you beat up Superboy back in the desert when we all had amnesia and you were weak."
"To be fair he was mindless." Trevor added.
"Not to mention you barely spoke english." Artemis added.
"Yeah, I'd prefer not to talk about that particular part." Supergirl defended.
"Don't worry, we won't." M'gann smiled.
"I kinda liked it when you spoke Kryptonian." Trevor said.
"Why because she was as timid as an innocent girl who needed a protector?" Artemis remembered how he treated her.
"I don't like damsels in distress stories." Trevor said.
"And I certainly wasn't timid!" Kara huffed beside him.
"Hey, maybe I could learn Kryptonian one day." Trevor wondered.
"Assuming you can keep up. It's a very complex language." Kara replied in Kryptonian dialect.
"What was that?" Trevor asked.
"Oh hold on, I think one of the words was 'complex'." Superboy answered, "Superman did learn some of his language, some of the genomorphs managed to give me a few words."
"OK. I should definitely learn Kryptoian. Trevor said.
"Alright. I'll teach you Trevor!" Kara tapped his shoulder with her fist.
Just then Black Canary comes in to see Wonder Boy and Supergirl talking. "Alright, you two this is no time for talking. We're here to train not talk."
Trevor and Kara heard some of the team snickering behind their backs making Kara bury her face in her hands and Trevor grunt in frustration.
"Recognized Zatara 11" Zatara walked in and switched on the Zeta tubes monitor, "Access granted. Zatanna Zataro. A-03. Authorization, Zatara, 11."
"Zatanna this is the team. Team, my daughter, Zatanna." Zatara introduced the team to her daughter, Zatanna.
She walked in a casual Catholic school uniform with her long black hair out. For one in particular she was truly the most beautiful person in the room.
"Hello, i'm-" M'gann was interrupted by the last person the team didn't expect to jump fast.
"Robin!" Robin quickly reeled himself back, "Ahem. I mean, I'm Robin. Ah, she's M'gann, uh, and that's Wally, Artemis, Kaldur, and Conner." Robin introduced the team so far, "Hey where's Kara and Trevor?"
The two heard their names and came over, "Umm…what's going on?" Trevor called.
"I have no idea." Kara replied.
"Uh Trevor, Kara, this is Zatanna, Zatara's daughter. These two are the youngest of our team, but I'll say it they're an irreplaceable duo to the team." Robin praised.
"Wait since when are-" Trevor put two and two together, the way he's looking at her, "Oh."
"Yes I'm Kara Zor-el." Kara raised her hand for Zatanna to shake which she accepted.
"I'm Steven Trevor Junior, but you can call me Trevor." Trevor was next and she accepted the same as Kara.
"So, uh, you-you are you joining the team?" Robin was cut short.
"Yeah, let's not get ahead of ourselves. She actually had to beg me to bring her here, and when that didn't work she bribed me with my family locket. I agreed to bring her here, to have her say hello to her friend Michael Nelson before I could work on him." Zatara explained but the rest of the team were dozing off on the idea of a missing supervisor.
"Do the rest of you get the impression were still on probation with Zatara?" M'gann spoke via telepathy.
"Not just Zatara. I mean, why is Marvel still hanging around?" Conner added to the thoughtful conversation.
"Because we like having him around." Wally smirked.
"You like having him around cause he waits on you hand and foot." Artemis pointed out the obvious.
"Eh he's not so bad." Trevor said. Kara nudged him and nodded at Zatanna, she's starting to pick up an impression about the invisible conversation.
Trevor nodded at her, but she responded with a single finger to her mouth with a devilish sneer on her face. They backed away from the conversation and stood beside Zatanna.
"It almost makes one nostalgic for Red Tornado's tenure as our Supervisor." Kaldur added.
"Yeah at least he trusted us." Robin replied.
"If you ignore the fact we shouldn't have trusted him. He was a traitor." Connor's impression was becoming as loud as his body language, "That machine nearly got us killed."
That was Zatanna's final straw, and she finally stepped up, "Are you guys having a psychic conversation? Cause I can't decide if that's cool or, uh, really rude." Zatanna couldn't decide.
"Apologies, Zatanna." Kara pleaded.
"It's kind of our thing. Stick with us long enough and it'll become your thing too," Trevor said.
"Umm Trevor I said not to jump to conclusions." Zatara added.
"I'm just saying it would be wise to have a magic wielder on the team. I mean Michael will be awake soon. Wally said he'd be awake in a couple of months back in August. Which is now October." Trevor explained. "Something must be wrong."
"Alright, fine. We were talking about Tornado." Connor confessed out loud, "It's been weeks since his attack, and the League hasn't told us anything."
"The League is searching for Tornado as well as the other androids that invaded the Cave, and their creator, T.O. Morrow. Batman's made tracking them down our highest priority-"
"But you've found none of the above." Robin stepped forward to Black Canary.
"Not yet, but Tornado is Justice League. The team is not to pursue this." Black Canary stood firm in her words.
"Why don't you all take Zatanna to see Michael, and give her a tour of the… The base?" Zatara was confused for a moment as the team realized she was missing. Fortunately for Robin, he found Zatanna with Kara and Trevor grooming Wolf.
"Uh, you're giving a tour? Cool!" Shazam sounded excited as he brought a plate of nachos.
"Actually, I was hoping you'd take Wolf outside. He needs the exercise. Uh we'll join you in a few." Connor gave Shazam a request.
"Sure, sure. I- I can do that. Come on, Wolf." Shazam ran with the wolf also with Wally's nachos.
"Uh, what about my nachos?" Wally asked as Connor hauled him to the team by his t-shirt.
The team walked into the kitchens with Zatanna beside Robin and in a new set of clothes, completely different from the uniform she came in with, "When did you… How did you…" Robin was speechless.
"It's called magic, Robin." Trevor answered for Robin.
"We're not really going to see Michael or take a tour, are we?" Zatanna put it together.
"No. We're hunting down that robot." Connor said up front.
"Yes, we are." Kaldur admitted.
"Oh, wow. Out loud and everything." Zatanna was impressed.
"What about new girl?" Artemis asked.
"I'm sure she won't tell." Robin was certain.
"But didn't your father say you had to beg him to come here, just to see Michael." Trevor added.
"He's in stasis, I'm sure he can wait." Wally pointed out.
"To be fair I really was hoping to see Michael, but I can't tell or see Michael, not if you kidnap me." Zatanna gleamed with a sly smile.
"Oh, she's gonna fit in great!" Artemis smiled with her arms on her hips.
"Ohh do we tie her up because my mom lent me her lasso of Hestia and I'm eager to use it?" Trevor asked holding out Wonder Woman's lasso of truth.
Kara smirked. "You took it when she wasn't looking did you?"
"You could say that she's on a vacation with my dad today. They're at some beach resort I don't know I didn't ask. Won't be home for at least a day." Trevor added. "I'll just sneak it back in and she'll never notice."
The rest of the team smiled and nodded at how cute Trevor was being at the moment, "So can I tie her up?"
"No… but you and Kara can restrain her." Kaldur suggested.
"You got it!" Kara responded with a smile.
Kara and Trevor each then grabbed one of Zatanna's arms.
"So your parents are on another vacation, really?" Kaldur questioned.
"Eh, it's different, My dad is mortal he wants to spend as much time as he can with my mom. You know how it is. Also parenting a Superpowered kid is a lot for my Dad." Trevor explained.
Aqualad, Robin and Wally looked at each other, knowing full well what that means.
"Just don't deny your father's help." Kaldur added.
"Never." Trevor nodded, "When this whole hero business gets too much, or when my mom isn't someone I can talk to, I can always count on him to have my back. He was there when Kara was gone."
"Trevor?" Kara was shocked to hear that.
"I may have agreed to have you removed from the Team but it doesn't mean I liked it. Or that I really wanted it." Trevor confessed.
"These two are so cute!" Zatanna whispered to Artemis.
"We know." Artemis replied.
"M'gann, the Bio-Ship wasn't authorized for departure." Dinah called from Mt. Justice.
Supergirl then took the microphone. "We're kidnapping Zatanna to show her around Happy Harbor."
"We'll be back soon!" Miss Martian added.
"Roger that, uh have fun." Dinah ended the call.
The group flew out over to Belle Reve prison, "Did you really have to say we're kidnapping Zatanna?" Wonder Boy asked.
"Well you wanted to use your mother's lasso." Supergirl argued back.
"Fair enough." Trevor added, "Hey could I pilot?"
"What why?" M'gann questioned.
"Please?" Trevor asked.
"Go ahead and let him, M'gann." Robin added his opinion.
"Okay, but please be gentle, it's called the Bio-Ship for a reason." M'gann stepped down giving the controls to Trevor.
Trevor took a seat at the controls, and it wasn't easy, this thing was more complicated than a fighter jet but he was managing. "Alright so far so good."
The bioship was a but of a struggle, but once he put in more mental force on the controls pods the ship went all crazy and spins at top speed.
"Trevor!" M'gann yelled.
"I'm working on it!" Trevor tried to focus, and once she managed to find his way to focus and fly straight, "Alright here we go!" Trevor cheered as he noticed his head was rushing and a lot of girls hair is dangling up.
"We're upside down Trevor!" Artemis shouted.
"Sorry, I'll fix that." Trevor apologized, he tried to flip the ship but instead did something else. The Bioship started spinning like crazy making the entire team scream in their seats.
"Great now we're spinning!" M'gann shouted.
"Trevor, stop spinning us!" Robin yelled.
"I'm trying!" Trevor responded.
Trevor tried to stop the ship from spinning but was unsuccessful.
"Trevor don't fight with her, you need to give her room to control as well." M'gann tried to get to Trevor.
"What does that even mean?!" Trevor asked.
"Just stop focusing on controlling the ship, and just clear your head." M'gann shrieked.
"Alright fine!" Trevor yelled and took a deep breath attempting to regain control. Clearing his head, and quieting all sounds, the ship responded by feeling calmer than before. Not by much but it's a start.
"Okay, Trevor if you can't stop this I'm gonna throw up on Artemis." Kid Flash warned.
Artemis looked at Kid Flash and said. "If you throw up on me I'll break your other arm."
"I'm trying, Miss Martian and Robin make it look so easy." Trevor said.
Trevor took another deep breath through his nose and exhaled slowly. His mind slowed from the racing thoughts. "OK, ok. Maybe this will work."
"No, no, no! Don't do that!" Miss Martian tried to stop but was too late.
The bioship boosters activated sending everyone back into their seats.
"Trevor! Slow down!" Connor yelled.
"I'm trying!" Trevor replied.
After quieting his mind and cleared his head, the ship finally came to a safe stop.
Finally Trevor brought the Bioship to a stop making everyone sigh in relief Trevor released his hold on the controls giving them back to M'gann. "Sorry, I thought it be easier,"
"Actually Trevor, you did better than me on my first try." Miss Martian admitted.
"I did?" Trevor asked along with a few others asking the same thing.
"Yeah, when I first flew a Bioship I almost crashed several times." M'gann patted his head.
"Seriously?" Wally asked, "The kid drove like a maniac who just got superspeed for the first time."
"Wally, rude!" Supergirl punched Wally lightly. If she wanted to hurt him she'd break his other arm.
"Hey mind if I could take a turn now?" Supergirl asked.
"NO!" Everyone said at the exact same time. After the reckless flying Trevor did none of them were eager to put another inexperienced pilot behind the controls.
M'gann stood for a moment, "Well unfortunately, guys, the ship actually wants Kara to pilot."
"What?" Artemis asked.
"Like I said, this is a 'BIO-Ship' it's an actual living being." M'gann explained again, "C'mon up, Kara."
Kara stood up on the pedestal, "And remember! Clear your head." M'gann reminded with the utmost sincerity given Trevor's attempt at driving the ship.
Kara took a breath, and gently put both hands on the devices that control the ship. So far the ship feels much more calm than when Trevor drove.
"Oh that's a relief!" Wally dropped in his chair with tension relieved of his fear. Kara looked at Wally with annoyance then turned to Trevor who gave her a thumbs up.
"Hey Robin, what was that word you said when you burnt down the big plant on the last mission?" Kara asked.
"Why do you ask?" Robin was hesitant to know why she brought that up.
"Timbur!" Soon after, Kara had the ship fasten Zatanna's seatbelt as it dropped from mid-air.
"OK. TIMBUR! I SAID TIMBUR!" Robin yelled.
"Kara what are you doing get us back up in the air!" Kid Flash demanded.
"Say you're sorry to Trevor first." Kara requested.
"What?!" Kid Flash exclaimed.
"I said, say you're sorry or we're plummeting into the ocean." Kara said propping her feet up on the console and crossing her arms not afraid at all.
They were just several kilometers from reaching the ocean. Until Wally said the magic words.
"Alright, Trevor I'm sorry. I'm sorry, now tell your girlfriend to get us back up." Kid Flash said terrified.
Getting what she needed Kara took back the controls and eased the ship into a steady cruising altitude.
Kara and Trevor then burst out laughing. "You should've seen the look on your faces!" she laughed. Fortunately, their kidnapped guest was laughing next.
"That was so awesome!" Zatanna cheered, "Wait, were you really gonna plummet us into the ocean just for petty revenge?!" she had to ask.
"Of course not, I'm not crazy. A few more seconds and I would've taken back control." Kara assured.
"Good!" Wally breathed in relief.
"Or would I?" Kara brought the tension back to Wally in full force.
"OK Kara I think Wally has had enough, let's get serious now." Artemis said.
Kara stood down from the pilot's seat, and sat next to Trevor. Kara took a deep breath from having the reigns. While they were resting from the fun, The ship moved Kara and Trevor's seat closer to form into a two-seated chair. Even the ship made a humbled coo as they flew forward.
"Aww, how deplorable." Wally added.
"Wally don't!" M'gann tried to stop him but the ship dropped on her own.
"Oh C'mon!" Wally wailed, "Okay okay I'm sorry again, now will you please stop doing that!" Wally shouted at the ship.
The ship complied.
"Does this always happen?" Zatanna asked.
"I mean not like this. The bioship doing this is a first." Robin answered.
"Well we definitely need to do this again!" Zatanna was excited, "It's like a roller coaster."
Mt. Justice
"I did not give permission for-" Zataro was mildly upset but he was a powder keg waiting to blow.
"They're good kids, Giovanni. Trustworthy kids, don't worry." Dinah was not completely sure about what she said entirely, "You should get started on Michael. I'll keep you updated." Dinah suggested.
Zatara sighed. "Alright."
Bioship
"Wait Wonder Woman is your mom?" Zatanna questioned.
"Yeah, why are so you surprised?" Trevor asked.
"I'm sorry, just that a lot of people say Wonder Woman isn't the kind of woman to be hitched." Zatanna explained.
"Well, then people can be idiots. Wonder Woman may be a warrior goddess, Amazon, and many other things but she's still a woman. I mean has anyone asked what I am to Wonder Woman?" Trevor asked.
"Okay touche on that one, Trevor." Zatanna had to admit that last part.
"Well if we're going to be asking questions. May I ask you a question?" Trevor asked.
"You just asked a question, Trevor." Kara noted.
"What's the question?" Zatanna asked Trevor.
"What's your history with Michael?" Trevor asked.
The question gave Robin a jolt of insecurity, which was a first for him.
"Michael and I were friends since we were kids, I remember when I was a less than five, I'd always love watching Superman on the TV. Eventually I spent my early childhood with the Kent family, I remember Michael and I would always play hide and seek in his family's tower. We taught each other magic when we got older. By the time we reached twelve… My… mom died of a disease, after that my father kept me close wherever we went. We kept in contact as often as we could, but then things became more quiet when I attended Catholic school." Zatanna explained in interesting detail.
"Wow." Trevor was shocked at the mouthful.
"You two must've been close." Kara said.
"We were." Zatanna smiled back reeling in from the memories. "Kinda like how you two are pretty close." Zatanna pointed at her and Trevor.
"Don't you start too, Wally does that enough." Trevor said propping his feet up.
"What, you mean teasing you and Kara just like you two tease me and Artemis? You seriously expect us to get together?" Wally argued at the boy.
"Why not? You two could make each other happy if you give each other a chance." Kara said.
"How exactly will Kid Flash here make me happy when he drives me nuts all the time?!" Artemis answered.
"Who else can get you riled up like that?" Trevor asked.
"Why don't you ask the heat on your cheeks!" Kara layered their argument.
The sass between the four teammates made Zatanna chuckle, she turned to Aqualad and asked. "Is your bickering always this funny?"
"Only on our best days." Robin nudged her.
"You get used to it." Aqualad said.
"I'm not getting together with the archery girl. Not in a million years." Kid Flash spat.
"Feelings mutual." Artemis agreed.
"So Trevor, can I ask you another question?"
"You just asked him a question." Robin chuckled.
"Whats the question, Zatanna?"
"I hear your a god."
"Part god, part Amazon, and part human." Trevor corrected. "But otherwise yeah."
"So I'm curious but what is your lifespan?" Zatanna asked. "If it's not too personal a question."
Zatanna's question caught Trevor off guard, it's something he's never really thought about. He knew gods lived for thousands of years but he's not a full god. The silence from Trevor was hard, and Kara could tell it wasn't easy for him to answer, "Why is everyone so focused on Trevor how come nobody asks questions about me?" Supergirl asked.
"Well, how long do you think you'll be alive?" Wally asked.
"Probably hundreds or thousands of years." Kara answered. She looked at Trevor, giving him some relief from the answer.
Trevor nodded at Kara with a light smile.
After a few minutes and the silence settled, Robin finally pulled out his detective mindset, "Where are we going? Batman is the world's greatest detective and he served for Tornado and Morrow in every logical location."
"So maybe as a detective, we need to think outside the box." Trevor added.
"Like an illogical solution!" Kara pointed out.
"Basically, we need a dumb idea on where to look." Robin concluded.
The group were stumped to the idea. For a moment the group was met with more silence until Wally finally spoke up, "As a matter of fact."
Belle Revve
"Warden Strange owed us a favor for stopping last month's prison break. He's given us five minutes with you." Miss Martian explained to Dr. Anthony Ivo.
"Spill, Ivo. How do we find T.O. Morrow and his Reds?" Superboy yelled.
"Now, why in the world would I know how to find Morrow?" Ivo asked.
"Because and here's a truly dumb idea, you're Morrow biggest competitor in the evil Android game. Who better to keep track of what he's up to and where?" Kid Flash explained.
"Ah. I see your point. So let me rephrase. Why in the world would I tell you how to find Morrow?" Ivo asked again.
"He knows, do what you must." Aqualad looked at Miss Martian. She focused on him but all he did was chuckle.
"Oh please. As if I've never faced a telepathic before." Ivo smiled as he looked to his right to see Zatanna.
"Trulb tou S'worrim eurt noitacol!" Zatanna cited a spell.
"Morrow's in a secret underground base beneath Yellowstone National Park. One hundred meters south of Old Faithful." Ivo cited as of he were not in control.
Watching him confess that easy made Trevor and Kara chuckle.
"Now allow me to make sure there are no rooms for error." Wonder Boy wrapped the lasso of truth around Ivo.
"You just really want to use that don't you?" Kara asked crossing her arms and smirking.
"Do you blame me, Wonder Woman says it's fun."
"No of course not. Confirm it for us." Kara smiled.
"Are you telling the truth Dr. Ivo?" Wonder Boy asked.
"Yes, I'm telling the truth." Ivo confessed.
"Huh. She's right this is fun. But next time let me draw out the truth because honestly, you killed the fun a little." Wonder Boy said.
"Wonder Boy we aren't here to have fun we are a team on a mission." Aqualad stated.
"Right, Aqualad, apologies."
"I'll let you have the fun next time Wonder Boy." Zatanna promised.
"Thank you mam." Wonder Boy smiled.
"You're a cute kid." Zatanna confessed.
Warden Strange watched the interrogation.
"Wait. What-what just happened." Ivo asked the team.
"Well this is unfortunate." A shadowed figure called out to Hugo.
"Patience, my friend, this may tip the scales in our favor." Hugo insisted, and the man obeyed.
Warden Hugo disregarded Ivo's interrogation broadcast and turned back to his guest, "Aside from this, have you cracked the combination?"
"I have, at first it wasn't easy, but thanks to our friend Dr. Destiny's contribution to my experiment, I found the correct element to what that tomb the boy's inside of is made out of." The man stepped up in the light from Hugo's lamp. He was seen wearing a long green hood, and a gemstone laced around his waist.
"I'd expect nothing else from you, Albert Desmond." Hugo smiled.
"Of course, Hugo, you shouldn't deny my work. Trust me, I'm a Doctor." He smiled as he gave Hugo the replicated sample of Michael's sarcophagus.
"Fine work, Dr. Alchemy. We'll take it from here. A pleasure doing business." Hugo took the sample.
Dr. Alchemy made his exit, leaving Hugo Strange to the sample. After the team left the prison, Strange took his phone to call one of Belle Revve's guards, "Bring me Dr. Ivo." Hugo ordered.
A few minutes passed until the guard Hugo called brought Ivo to his office, "Thank you, leave us."
The guard didn't respond, only left Ivo where he stood and closed the door behind him.
"Take a seat, Ivo." Hugo Strange invited which he complied, "After that stunt the girl did and the boy's lasso of truth, I think you should be the one to warn our mutual friend."
"Very well." Ivo dialed T.O. Morrow's number, "Ivo to Morrow. Thomas, are you there?"
"I'm here, Anthony. What do you want?" Dr. Morrow responded.
"Reluctantly to warn you. The children have learned your location. I do not believe they've told their elders and betters. But they are on their way." Ivo explained, and was given no response from Morrow.
Warden Hugo hung up the phone for Ivo, and walked him to the front door, "Take him back to his cell." The guard from before obeyed, and escorted Ivo to his cell.
Closing the door with the office to himself, he chuckled as he made his way to his desk. Taking his phone he received a text.
"Has Alchemy brought his end of the bargain?" The sender asked.
"Yes, we are ready." Hugo Strange answered.
"Be there soon!"
"Don't keep me waiting, Dr. Destiny."
Shortly after their texting chat was done, a dark force burst from the wall, and out came John Dee himself, "Bring me the sample."
Hugo Strange presented the element sample, he didn't need to say anything, that John Dee was to take the sample himself.
John Dee stepped up and reached for the sample, "Oh yes." He took the sample and focused.
"How long do you think you'll need to find the sarcophagus?" Hugo Strange asked.
"Could take a few days, I'll keep you updated." John Dee took the sample through the portal.
Wyoming
The team were nearing their destination at Yellowstone Park just as Ivo coordinated.
With the mission becoming serious, Kaldur stood up as the leader he was "Blackout all external communication. Soon, Canary and Zatara, Batman too, I imagine will know of our visit with Professor Ivo. We haven't much time."
"Look, I'm trying to be all nonchalant here." Robin tried to keep it cool, but the kids are chuckling behind their backs.
"Why? Be as chalant as you like." Zatanna responded. Giving the two more fuel for the fire.
"Dear Gods, Robin, you're worse than Wally." Trevor chuckled.
"Seriously, I don't give you grief, don't I?" Robin turned over to Wonder Boy.
"It's fine, it's cute that he's trying." Zatanna responded.
"REALLY?" Robin was shocked to the answer.
"You know what let's not provoke the sassy kids, let's change the subject, how about you help us get a handle on your powers. Could you teleport us to Tornado, or Morrow to a cell, or force his bots to surrender?" Artemis was hoping to understand their new friend's powers.
"Ooh, can you make Wally here believe in Magic?" Kara asked to intentionally get a rise out of him.
"Hey!" Wally called her out.
"Or create peace on earth for all time?" Zatanna responded.
"I hope to do that one day." Wonder Boy said.
"Oh how altruistic," Zatanna looked at Trevor, "Anyway, Zatara couldn't even do all that and I'm nowhere near on my dad's level. I need to know a spell cold, or else have time to prep it. Plus, all magic requires energy which usually has to come from within. I just can't make the impossible happen at will."
"So you can't cast a spell to make Speedy Gonzales and Archery girl fall in love?" Kara joked. The joke got a chuckle out of Trevor and even Robin.
"I think I'd prefer to be under a spell that actually made me believe in magic." Wally coldly answered.
"Fine by me. No sweat off my back." Artemis added, "Also can you please knock it off with the shipping?! Things are about to get serious."
Zatanna laughed. "Sorry, I don't do spells like that."
"On the other hand, you can always go see Aphrodite and find out for sure." Trevor responded.
"Wait, she's real?" Robin asked.
Wonder Boy's expression turned to one of annoyance. "Of course she is, you seriously didn't know that?"
"I mean… It's not like we talk about this topic often as those who are actually a threat to us or the League." Robin asked.
"You mean like Ares?" Trevor asked.
"Excatly like Ares." Robin answered.
"Please stop talking about this, it's frustrating me." Wally rubbed his temples from the overflowing ideas with no explanation for it's existence.
"That's one thing we can agree on." Artemis agreed.
"What's our ETA to Yellowstone? I'm way past ready to stuff Tornado into a trash compactor." Superboy was getting frustrated.
"We're not putting Red Tornado into a compactor Connor." Wonder Boy said.
"Are you so certain he betrayed us?" Aqualad asked.
"Aren't you?" Connor asked in his anger.
"I am not convinced. And even so, that makes him but the victim of his creator."
"We've known him since we've been a team, he deserves a chance to prove himself." Trevor added.
"Robot or not, he's more than the weapon others designed him to be. Just like my cousin who I care about." Kara put a hand on Connor's shoulder.
Connor's anger quickly vanished as his friend's words seeped into his mind. If this is true than how is he any better?
"You're right. Let's just get to Yellowstone." Connor fumed from his anger.
"That's my favorite cousin!" Kara praised.

"Has anyone ever told you that you look sexy in that?" Steve flirted on Diana's bathing suit.
"Has anyone ever told you that your flirting hasn't improved my love?" Diana retorted, lowering her sunglasses.
"And yet those same charms has gone to our son. And you doubt me? Just look at how he's bonded with the Kara girl." Steve smiled.
"Seriously, that's your excuse?" Diana laughed.
"I'm not gonna lie she's grown fond of our boy, and the way he looks at her, I think they have a real special bond." Steve admitted.
Diaan scoffed. "I'm pretty sure his charms come from me and not you, becuase I've seen the way he talks to girls. He uses sincerity and speaks to their interest."
"And yet the same way I used to talk to girls? Did I ever tell you that?" Steve asked, "If there's one thing I learned being married to you. Is that all it takes is the right woman."
Diana let out a sigh rolling her eyes, she loved Steve with all her heart but he can be a real pain sometimes. Especially when the things he says are fairly accurate.
"You know this is good, time away from Trevor. Just… you and me relaxing on these beach chairs, bathing in the sun, and drinking umbrella drinks." Steven said.
"My idea of relaxing, and I couldn't ask for anything more." Diana breathed as she put her drink on the counter.
"Hey, Angel, can I ask you a question?" Steve asked.
"Of course you can." Diana replied.
"You ever get worried we're in over our heads raising a kid like Trevor?" Steve asked.
"What do you mean?" Diana asked.
"I just you know… I worry that we may not get enough time to ourselves. You know with your duties to the Justice League and my duties as a Colonel I worry we'll regress to our original marriage." Steven admitted.
Diana put a hand on Steve's cheek. "Steve, don't think like that. I know our marriage didn't start out well but remember we pushed through and things got better. We have a son, he's doing great, he looks up to us both."
"I know, every time I think of how we raised that boy, I feel there's a part we could've done better but… after some time here, I realized what we did wrong with our son. I realize we patched up what we eachother got wrong, together. I couldn't ask for a better partner in raising that boy, Diana." Steve smiled at his wife.
"Same, Steve. He's going to do great things in his life." Diana couldn't be more proud.
"C'mon Diana we came here to get away from Trevor now we're talking about him." Steve chuckled as he took a sip of his drink.
"You're right, you're right." Diana smiled. "It's just hard not to talk about him after everything he's learned from us." Then as Diana finished her drink, she thought of something, "Remember our talk at the cabin?"
"Which talk?" Steven asked.
His response only made Diana roll her eyes, "The one where we talked about having another kid." Diana reached closer to Steve, "Maybe we should have another." Diana whispered into Steve's ear.
"Diana?" Steve was a little shocked, but he's definitely not thinking no.
"C'mon!" Diana dragged Steve from the collar and dragged him to their beach home.
Yellowstone National Park
"Stealth mode." Aqualad gave the order as he made the switch.
Kid Flash made the switch to black. This time we have Artemis switching to black. Miss Martian and Supergirl made their switch as well. Wonderboy went from green polymer fabric to urban black just like the rest.
Everyone was about to leave as Zatanna stood before the exit.
"I recommend you stay behind." Aqualad suggested.
"Is that an order?" Zatanna asked.
"No." Aqualad corrected.
"Well can you morph into something stealthy?" Supergirl asked.
"Yeah, I remember Michael could morph his clothing. He had this black long coat, with a top hat and he had this sword." Wonder Boy remembered.
"Oh don't forget the skull mask." Supergirl remembered that last part.
"Skull mask, huh? That's definitely his style. Don't worry, gimme a moment." Zatanna took a bow, "Emit ot yrt eht wen kool!" A wisp of smoke erupted from Zatanna's feet until it covered her entire form. The smoke thickened and evaporated into Zatanna's new look. She looked like a magician in modernized Victorian style. Though the shorts and leggings were a more modern touch.
"How does that whole saying a sentence backwards thing even work?" Wonder Boy wondered aloud.
"It's so cool!" Supergirl was so excited.
"Well you kids are easily impressed… I was hoping to skip this, but I like you two." Zatanna took a pose with her hand out, "Tsomla togrof." A regular sized top hat popped from smoke in her hand and she placed it on her head.
"Oh that looks adorable, Zatanna!" Kara said.
"Yeah she really is." Robin whispered under his breath looking at Zatanna.
The team along with Zatanna ran out to find Morrow's base.
"M'gann establish a link." Aqualad called to Miss Martian.
"Already on it!" Miss Martian smiled.
"This is freaky!" Zatanna spoke for the first time via telepathy.
The team ran through the forest they had behind the last layer of tree line. Robin pulled out his wrist computer and ran geological surveys on the terrain, "Ivo was right. Something's down there."
Aqualad took point while the rest followed his lead and made their way across the deserted valley. In their trek to the source of Morrow's base the team were intercepted by strong gusts of wind and they were caught in the middle of it.
"Tornado?" Wonder Boy asked.
All of the team flew from the strong winds.
Red Tornado raised his hand up creating two massive tornados, and soon those two tornadoes became a whole swarm surrounding the team.
"Why Tornado? Why are you doing this?" Miss Martian asked as the tornadoes kept closer, "Message received."
"Who cares why? Nail him!" Superboy yelled.
Aqualad followed, "Superboy, maneuver seven!"
Superboy rushed quickly and put his hand together for Aqualad to get a good jump on Red Tornado.
"Yeah!" Aqualad and Superboy said together.
Aqualad pulled back to lay a hard hook on Red Tornado's left side plate, but he delivered a straight punch into the boy's face.
Wonder Boy and Supergirl then stepped up. "Tagteam?" Wonder Boy asked.
"Tagteam!" Supergirl answered.
The two flew up into the sky and attempted to strike at the same time but Red Tornado blew them away easily with a tornado.
Artemis fired two explosive arrows while Robin threw a few explosive birdarangs however Red Tornado caught them with his powers and redirected them back at the team. "Look out!" Supergirl flew in front of the projectiles taking the brunt of the explosions.
"That tickled." Supergirl snickered.
Supergirl was confident in her powers compared to his, but that confidence was swept under her feat when a tornado from behind threw her off balance and down towards the ground.
The breeze over her entire body she felt paralyzed to his power, until a pair of arms stopped her from falling, "Gotcha!" Wonder Boy held her in mid-air.
"I thought you hated damsel in distress stories." Supergirl smiled.
"I do." Wonder Boy answered as he dropped her so she could catch herself mid air.
The two were so occupied on eacother, Red Tornado was able to send a gush of wind straight for Wonder Boy sending him down to the ground.
"That does it, Red." Supergirl yelled as she flew back to Red Tornado, the feeling of anger sizzling in her eyes. She flew straight for a punch to his head, the anger blinding her once more, but that anger quickly vanished when Red threw a punch of his own. Sending her down to land near Wonder Boy.
"You're not the only spin doctor around here." Kid Flash spun fast enough to become a tornado himself.
From behind Miss Martian made an attempt to make a strike but he caught her by the wrist and threw her to Kid Flash's incoming tornado. The impact stopped the Tornado and sent the two barely conscious.
"I have an idea." Wonder Boy pulled out the laso swinging it around then wrapping it around Red Tornado. Wonder Boy then pulled with all his strength to bring him down. Unfortunately, Red Tornado used his own strength to pull Wonder Boy over to him and used his own lasso to slam him down straight to the ground.
Zatanna raced over to the team, surrounded by Tornados, she put her hands together and cited, "Etaerc a..." Zatanna struggled from the strong winds, "a... dleihs dnuora ym-" Her spell was interrupted when Red Tornado snatched her throat, and choked her unconscious.
Wonderboy started regaining conscious as well as the rest of the team. He looked up to find Red Tornado and another android arrive from a towering pillar of rock, "Quite a performance, brother, but we both know that's all it was. I have all your memories, Tornado."
Zatanna looked up to see the same thing, "Trevor, who is that behind Red Tornado?"
"I don't know." Wonder Boy answered.
"Plus a next-gen processor. I know your next move before you do." The bigger android held his hands up and the next thing the Team realized the ground started quaking and then a chunk of the earth was hovering above them. On the hulking piece of rock, there's something written, "Play dead?" Trevor read out loud.
"Blowing a message into the sand?" The android was disgusted as he tore the giant chunk into pieces and flew them over to the team and Red Tornado.
Aqualad pulled out his water wands beside Superboy to repel the debris away from them. Wonder Boy and Supergirl were next to provide assistance along with Miss Martian. Another piece of heavy debris was about to strike over at Zatanna.
"Zatanna!" Robin shrieked.
Zatanna was unharmed as the debris was split in two, by a sharp cut from a tall white figure. His form was in the wisp of a ghouls but the blade was real.
"What?" Wonder Boy saw the figure, he recognized him instantly.
"Is that?" Supergirl asked.
The figure sheathed his blade and turned back to Zatanna, "I am the Lord of Hope, are you Zatanna?"
"Yes?" Zatanna was shocked at the presence before her.
"Young Michael Nelson sends his regards." The Lord of Hope said as he put a hand on her shoulders.
The lord made his way to Trevor and handed him the blade, "Once your mission is done return that to Michael. Till then, use it as you see fit."
"Of course, sir." Trevor was a little shocked to see him again. Trevor took Michael's blade and then he just vanished.
"It's alright I'm good, but Red Tornado's getting away." Zatanna spoke via telepathy.
"Is he abandoning us?" Artemis asked.
"I don't believe that." Miss Martian answered with Kid Flash running beneath her to the Android.
"You stand no chance against me, humans." The red android scolded while punching Kid Flashm
"WE'RE NOT HUMAN!" Superboy, Supergirl and Miss Martian responded in unison.
"Apologies. I suppose the properly inclusive term is." The android raised his hands and hauled forth two pillars in the shape of hands and crushed the three non humans, "Meatbags."
The red android began to split the ground in two, sending Artemis and Aqualad falling. Quick on her quiver she drew a grappling arrow and shot it at the top. She grabbed Aqualad and they hopped out just as the crevice sealed shut.
Robin ran up and threw an explosive birdarang, but the android caught it and exploded in his own hands.
Supergirl was the first to recover from the smoothed rocks, and flew straight for the red android. Her punch was halted as she was stopped by a hard grip to the throat, "Nice try girl but you are a fool to challenge me!" Red Volcano then threw Kara with all his strength into the pool of lava.
"Kara!" Wonder Boy yelled.
Wonder Boy grew angry at the sight he just saw, his hands started to sizzle, but it wasn't enough, so with the gift provided he picked up his own blade and also Michael's and charged straight for the android.
Wonder Boy flew at him and dealt constant flurries of swipes and cuts all that did not even land a hit, until the android started chuckling.
"Well that's impressive, one of you managed to graze me." The android admitted and kicked him over, "Let's see how a God can handle the intense heat!"
The android turned away and dealt with the rest of the team, "Tornado's files and my superior processing speed allow me to anticipate your every move."
"Emoks emoceb a dlofdnilb!" Zatanna cited another spell and it worked. The smoke hardened into an actual blindfold, "Tornado never learned my moves." Zatanna sneered.
"And I bet you've got some good moves." Robin smiled, until he realized how cheesy that was, "Whoa. Sorry. That may have come off a little too Wally." Robin apologized.
Zatanna chuckled, "I don't mind."
From behind the android was about to break through the spell and his eyes burst with a large heat vision like Superman. As his eyes erupted so did the volcano.
From the eruption, two figures broke through and flew straight for the android, "Hey its the kids!" Zatanna pointed.
"Lava can't hurt me!" Supergirl shrieked.
"And I caught myself before I fell, even saved Michael's blade too." Wonder Boy held Michael's .blade sheeved in its holster.
The lava started creeping from the cracks, the android hurled three molting rocks at Kid Flash which he avoided gloriously, "He's activating a stage two eruption. It gets to stage three, kiss the hemisphere goodbye."
"Hit him from all sides." Aqualad said as he opened his water blades. The android quickly shoved him aside unfortunately.
Superboy was the first to make contact, but the android caught his fist and the impact reverberated. He reached for Superboy's wrist and threw him aside.
Miss Martian snuck around while cloaked to haul him down with her telekinesis, but he used his earth powers to create a rip in crumbling beneath her to interrupt her focus.
"M'gann!" Superboy yelled as he made his way to her, but the android stood between them. He punched him further out and grabbed Miss Martian by the cape.
Wonder Boy, Supergirl, and Kid Flash stood unsure what to do.
"You three come here." Zatanna huddled the three, "Ekoms dna srorrim. Etaerc Diana Hsalf, lrigrepuS, dna yoB rednoW snoisulli!" All the smoke around the four were spun and were quickly morphed into decoys of Kid Flash, Supergirl, and Wonder Boy, "I- I used a scaled down version when I wanna sneak out of the house."
"Thank you Zatanna!" All of the Wonder Boy's said as they raced to the Android.
The android threw multiple projectiles at the decoys but none of them were the original ones. From around the swarm, the real Kid Flash, Supergirl and Wonder Boy were behind him.
"Kid Flash, Get the girl, then we'll get the robot! Supergirl aim low i'll go high." Wonder Boy instructed and the two nodded.
Kid Flash ran first and as soon as he caught Miss Martian, Supergirl landed a kick to the androids calf while Wonder Boy elbowed his face.
Just after they backed away from the android a tide of water slammed the big android down in the lava.
"Nice hit!" Robin looked to Aqualad.
"The hit was not mine." Aqualad confessed.
"Look!" Wonder Boy pointed to the one of the androids that invaded the cave.
The water android threw another barrage of water and sent the bigger android back in the lava. Then Red Tornado came to cut the growing pillar with his powers.
"Its the other one!" Supergiro pointed. The female looking android threw down pellets of fire and dived into the lava to keep the bigger android down. Then Red Tornado jumped down and put his feet down in the lava.
After a few minutes, Red Tornado started sinking into the lava until Superboy and Supergirl jumped nearby to haul him out.
"Did that put down the other androids?" Asked as the eruption resumed. The ground quaked as if the mountain grew bigger.
"Tornado, listen, were on the verge of a stage three supervolcano eruption. There's no turning back from that. We need to vent the pressure, fast. But the ash cloud will bring on a worldwide nuclear winter unless you divert it." Kid Flash yelled at Red Tornado, and he nodded back in agreement, "Triangulation around the pressure locus." Kid Flash looked to Robin.
"Right." Robin pulled his wrist computer and found the three spots for the Volcano, "There, there, and there."
Artemis and Supergirl were ready. Artemis shot two explosive arrows while Supergirl flew to the third entry point. Both arrows exploded where they needed and Supergirl punched open a pocket.
With the ash flowing up, that was Red Tornado's cue to fly up and blow away the ash into orbit.
As all the ash flew away, the lava quickly dried and cooled, "Yes!" Kid Flash was excited that his plan worked.
"Kara! Are you okay!" Wonder Boy was slightly worried.
"I'm fine, right here." Supergirl cheered as she flew down to the team.
"Umm Supergirl not to be rude or anything but your outfits… kinda on fire." Trevor pointed out.
"Oh?" Supergirl looked around her.
"Here allow me." Zatanna walked over, "Retaw nwod lrigrepuS dna yrd." Zatanna morphed a floating bubble of water, dousedit over her, and she was instantly dry.
"Oh thanks for that, Zatanna." Zatanna noticed one other thing, "Riaper s'lrigrepuS tius." A wisp of smoke floated around Supergirl to the point it became too thick to see and when the smoke faded, her suit was fully repaired.
"You're the best Zatanna!" Supergirl flew to hug her, maybe too hard.
Shortly after, Red Tornado flew down to his knees still injured from his missing legs. The team went over to help him, but Wonder Boy, Supergirl and Zatanna paused as they saw a metal and rusted arm protrude from the dried lava.
"Who's hand did this belong to?" Wonder Boy asked.
"Dunno Trevor." Supergirl answered as the hand flew into the wind in ashes.
"C'mon guys let's go see your robot friend " Zatanna patted the kids backs.
"Yeah." The two said in unison and the three went to check on Red Tornado.
It took some time and intense tinkering, but Robin and Kid Flash were able to patch up Red Tornado's vocals.
"There. That should do it." Robin smiled at their work.
"Yes. I can speak again." Red Tornado said grateful in his own way.
"You were willing to sacrifice yourself to save the planet." Aqualad said as he walked closer.
"The planet would have survived."
"Well that was dark, red." Trevor added.
"Though It is humanity that was saved. Though not by me. My sister and brother were the true heroes this day." Red Tornado admitted.
"Those were your siblings?" Kara asked.
"Yes, Red Torpedo, Red Inferno, and then there was our youngest brother, Red Volcano." Red Tornado explained to the team.
"And my point is this. You were never the mole. Never a traitor." Aqualad confessed.
"No, I left to protect you, from further attack and to find my creator, Morrow." Red Tornado turned to face the front.
Wally and Robin noticed a table of spare parts that looked like it could fit Red Tornado's physique. While Trevor aand Kara looked to see another set of spare parts that merely resulted the other three androids, "Hmm." Trevor pondered.
"What're you thinking Trevor?" Kara asked.
"Cool. Souvenir." Kid Flash waved the parts over at Robin.
"Reddy, we can rebuild you better than you were before." Robin said as he carried a left leg.
"I think these parts are from your siblings." Trevor held two different arms while Kara held the biggest.
"I do not believe I should be repaired." Red Tornado confessed.
"No I mean you should keep these hands, we may not have been on the best of terms with your brothers and sisters, but they were your family. You should keep these to honor your siblings." Trevor explained.
"Honor?" Red Tornado had no concept of the term. 'Honor' was something more along the lines of human concept.
"Why'd you volunteer to become our den mother in the first place?" Connor turned to ask him.
"I was the pragmatic choice." Red Tornado explained as he began to list, "I do not require sleep. I have no secret identity or second life to live."
"But you do have advanced AI programming," Wally held out the hand and while listing he opened each finger, "designed to learn, adapt, evolve."
"Hello, Megan. You wanted to become more human." M'gann slapped her head.
"And you couldn't do that with the League. They're stiffs." Artemis added.
"Can't say my mom is the best option to learn to be human given her deity lineage." Trevor chuckled a little.
"And Superman isn't even human, we're Kryptonians." Kara smiled.
"You're sure not gonna learn emotion from Batman. Trust me." Robin gave the final nail in the coffin.
"Then the cave was not a proving ground only for us, but for you as well." Aqualad realized.
"I do not know if these statements are accurate. But perhaps they are true. And if I understand the term correctly I believe I have come to… Care about you all." Red Tornado was starting to learn.
"See? Practically a meatbag already." Connor wasn't wrong.
"Which reminds me. There's someone I need to see. Trevor, the concept of honor eludes me, ut if you think those areas are worth its value… In honor, I request you keep those for me until I understand the term, Honor. Call it a favor as you humans say." Red Tornado looked at Wonder Boy.
"You got it." Trevor saluted with one of the hands he's carrying.
"Very well, I'm ready to he repaired, and when you finish return to the cave and make your report that I will be back to resume my duty at dawn." Red Tornado asked.
"Alright let's get started." Robin smiled as the team did what they could for Red Tornado.
As Red Tornado flew off away from Yellowstone, the team returned to the Bioship and made their way back to the cave.
Trevor sat next to Kara with all three red arms as he turned to Kara, "Can you take these?" Kara held out the arms.
"Of course." Kara took the arms off his hands.
"Zatanna." Trevor looked over to her, "I suppose you'll wanna hang on to this?" Trevor held out Michael's blade, "He was your friend after all and he did send it to save you."
Zatanna chuckled with a light blush from that newly found memory, "Yeah sure."
She took her old friend's blade and kept it tight in her arms. As if a piece of him was watching over him.
The blade started glowing, and the team noticed, "Does this happen often?" Trevor asked.
"No." Zatanna answered.
The glow started emitting only from the bottom of the hilt and the light seeped into a floating gleam. After a moment the glow expanded into a shape of a man, "Michael?" Zatanna was shocked.
Michael stood before all of the team, in his black longcoat, minus the top hat and skull mask.
"Hello Zatanna. Kara, Trevor, good to see you two again. I just wanted to let you guys know I'll be out and awake in a few days. Hence how I was able to send my blade and how I'm talking all of you now." Michael smiled looking at all of the members, "I better go, I look forward to shaking your hands." Michael took his hand and placed it on his blade. The glow seeped back into the blade.
With that moment finally passed, Robin scooched up to Zatanna, "So, good kidnapping?"
"Actually, yeah. Best ever." Zatanna admitted.
"First of many, I hope." Robin chuckled.
"If my dad doesn't ground me for life." Zatanna turned around.
"You are grounded for life! You are never joining this team!" Zatara roared at his daughter as she just returned.
Zatanna looked down in sullen regret, keeping Michael's blade close. She merely nodded as she walked her way over to the Zeta tube, "I'm ready to go now." she said as the grief melded into her tone.
Zatara looked at Dinah, and she gave him a nod yes. Knowing what he must do, "Zatanna, before they 'kidnapped' you, were you able to at least meet with Michael? In person?"
Zatanna didn't answer, only nodded 'No' slowly.
Zatara looked at Trevor and Kara, "You two, can you take my daughter to her friend, me and Dinah need to discuss a few things, our discussion will take about thirty minutes."
"We'd be honored to make amends for her kidnapping." Trevor assured.
The two youngest members escorted Zatanna to the Intensive care facility where they're keeping a 24/7 watch on Michael Nelson as he recovers. Trevor and Kara opened the door for Zatanna, and she was presented made her knees buckle.
Little did she suspect they were being stalked from the shadows by a mutual friend.
"Robin's behind us." Kara could hear him as she whispered to Trevor.
Trevor didn't say anything, he just looked at her and nodded, "Would you like some privacy?"
"Yes, please." Zatanna looked back at the two kids as they closed the door behind them.
Zatanna walked up to meet what's left of her old friend, he placed his blade on the top of the sarcophagus, "Hello Michael. The things Dr. Destiny did to you. Still I hope you wake up soon," Zatanna held her tears for long enough to say her words, "eldnaC." She used her conjuration magic to bring a few candles into her hands.
Outside the room, Trevor and Kara waited for Zatanna, hoping the time she has will be enough, "Didn't Batman say Michael is under constant surveillance 24/7?" Kara asked.
"I think so… You think we… should, y'know?" Trevor implied they eavesdrop on Zatanna.
"I have an idea." Kara looked into the room using her X-ray vision.
Looking past the walls she found Zatanna placing the candles around Michael's sarcophagus, "thgiL" She cited and the one candle lit in her very hands, as she began lighting the rest, "yM tseread dneirf leahciM nosleN, eht yerg spihs era gnillac ot uoy, ym reyarp taht uoy reah ym aelp, od ton ekat ot eht yerg spihs, esaelp neuter ot eht gnivil, esaelp neuter ot su," Zatanna knelt her head on Michael's sarcophagus and released her tears in solace, "esaelp neuter ot em. esaelP neuter ot em. esaelP neuter ot em."
"What's going on?" Trevor asked.
"I don't know, I don't speak english backwards." Kara replied, "But she's sad, really sad."
Zatanna lifted herself up and placed her hand on Michael's sarcophogus one more time, and she didn't expect a response, but a knock from inside lifted her spirits. She responded with a knock of her own.
"I'll see you soon, old friend." Zatanna smiled.
She gave Michael another tap, and made her way out, "Act natural! Act natural! She's coming." Kara spoke a quickly as she can to Trevor, the two just leaned on the wall and Kara quickly thought of an alibi on the spot, "So do who you think would win, Superman or Wonder Woman."
"Wonder Woman." Kara answered.
"Definitely Wonder Woman." Trevor added.
"Wonder Woman really?" Zatanna questioned raising an eyebrow.
"Do you have any idea how ruthless she can be when it comes to my safety?" Trevor asked.
"Valid point." Zatanna had to admit she understood that from experience given mothers can be overprotective when it comes to children's safety.
"You know if i recall, Superman has X-ray vision." Zatanna remembered which sent shivers down Kara's spine.
"And if you remember Ivo, I suggest you ask me, did you eavesdrop?" Zatanna crossed her arms and waited for her answer.
Trevor grabbed the lasso wrapping it around his arm. "Yes, but we were curious. Please forgive us."
Zatanna chuckled a little, "You're lucky I find you two adorable." she patted both of their heads.
"We aren't adorable." Kara replied crossing her arms.
"And don't do that." Trevor said.
"I suppose you're curious about what I said to Michael?" Zatanna asked.
"Okay a little bit, but… You don't need to tell us." Kara assured.
"It's okay, c'mon in, no reason to hide it." Zatanna welcomed the kids inside with Michael, "You two saw Michael outside this thing, is that right?"
"Yeah he went up against Dr. Destiny in his own home." Trevor answered.
"I saw him twice, at the tower and when you were on that camping trip, Trevor." Kara answered.
"Oh…" Trevor realized as he saw Zatanna look down at his friend.
She walked over to him once more. "My dearest friend, Michael Nelson, the grey ships are calling to you, my prayer that you hear my plea, do not take to the grey ships, please return to the living, please return to us, please return to me, please return to me."
"Was that the spell cited to him?" Kara asked.
"No… I mean, that is what I said, but that wasn't a spell. We always loved talking to each other backwards, it was good practice." Zatanna looked back at the two kids.
"So what do you know about the thing, the person er, lord, Michael has joined with?" Trevor asked.
"The Lord of Hope doesn't really intervene in the affairs of mortals, but at least he's more lenient compared to Nabu. The lords of order bring order while the lords of chaos bring chaos, but the duty of the lord of hope is to bring hope to the world." Zatanna gave Michael a soothing pad before leaving his friend to heal. "Hope is neither malevolent or benevolent."
"He'll be awake before you know it, Zatanna!" Kara smiled.
"I think my thirty minutes are up. I'm ready to go now." Zatanna walked beside the two kids as they brought her to her father near the zeta tubes.
With Zatanna gone Trevor turned to Kara. "So…um wanna watch that movie I asked you about?"
"You know I wouldn't mind something simple after a kidnapping." Kara admitted.
With Trevor's parents away on vacation, he started crashing at the base with Connor and M'gann. The two kids retreated to the recreational room. Kara hopped on the couch as Trevor went to the main television. He opened up the dvd player and placed the disc inside.
"So what's the movie you picked out?" Kara asked.
Trevor then held up the movie case. "My mom took me to see this one a year ago needless to say I loved it instantly. An alien world filled with beauty and wonder. It's called, Avatar!" Trevor showed Kara.
Kara examined the case with curiosity.
"So if you any questions now, I would suggest you ask now or let the movie watch." Trevor suggested.
"Y'know you said this was a great movie? If that's the case I don't think I need to ask anything. I trust your judgement." Kara smiled.
"I couldn't ask for a smarter response, Kara." Trevor hit play on the movie's menu screen.
"I like the music so far." Kara added given the opening song for the menu.
Hawaii
Steven awoke, the time so far, dawn is near so it must be morning. He was about step out of bed until he felt something strong restraining him to the bed.
Steven looked to see Diana sleeping next to him, her arm over his chest. Removing her arm, he snuck out of bed to breathe in some of that tropical night breeze. Snapping a bottle of beer, he took a deep breath and exhaled even slower, any nerves in his bones suddenly lifted. Pulling out his cell phone, he knows Trevor can handle himself, but what's one phone call? Steven dialed Trevor's number in and then he answered, "Well this is a surprise, calling because you miss me or are you just bored?"
"Ugh. Very funny son." Steve replied, "It's not too late on your end is it?"
"Not too bad, watching a movie with Kara." Trevor said.
"I'm sorry?"
"Hey, sir, we're watching Avatar." Kara responded on the line.
"You're watching a movie, with Kara?" Steve asked clearly.
"Yes, we had a rough mission today, the least we deserve is some time to chill." Trevor defended.
"I'm really loving this movie!" Kara said.
"So, um, did anything happen to you?"
"We kidnapped a girl." Kara answered.
"Excuse me?" Steve questioned.
"Kara!" Trevor shouted.
"Don't worry Mr. Trevor, it was actually the girl's idea. I think she was a great friend."
Steve didn't say anything not till after a few chuckles, "Trevor, son, your team is something else, and I love it."
"Really?" Trevor was slightly shocked to his father's praise.
"Yeah, son, but since we're putting things on the table, is there anything I should know." Steve asked.
"Don't tell mom but… I took her lasso of truth." Trevor admitted.
"You did? Why?" Steven asked confused.
"Well she keeps telling me how satisfying it is to make people tell the truth, and you know with you guys." Trevor explained.
"Well I can't say your wrong, though there were times that lasso had it's grip on me. Not fun, but at least it got your mom a laugh."
"Uh do I even want to know what she made you tell her?"
"How about I tell you when you're older." Steve offered.
"In that case don't ever tell me." Trevor understood the message under his father's words.
"Aww, bummer." Kara whispered.
"Alright, you two, where are you in the movie?" Steve asked.
"About halfway." Trevor answered.
"Oh really, Kara what do you think so far?"
"This movie's amazing, I like the Na'vi, and those flying beats they bond with." Kara said.
"Okay, glad you two are enjoying yourselves. Listen I took enough of your time. You guys enjoy your movie. Love you, son." Steve smiled.
"Thanks dad, love you too, bye." Trevor called before hanging up.
"I knew you couldn't resist checking on him." Steve looked to see Diana standing behind him wearing a robe.
"He's been using your lasso." Steve chuckled.
"What?!" Diana was shocked beyond belief.
"When we get back, I suggest you help him make his own lasso."
Diana placed her hand on her head letting out a long sigh. "You can't just make a lasso of truth Steve. Only Hestia can make a lasso like that."
"Well I don't see how Trevor's hasn't earned one yet." Steve admitted.
Diana sighed as he walked to enjoy the breeze with her husband, "I admit, he's making progress."
"Lemme ask you something, when you voted to suspend that friend of his, Kara, did you regret it?" Steve asked.
"Honestly, I didn't at first, but… When you told he came to you to for advice on how he was feeling, I felt a little hurt." Diana confessed.
"Just means he knows he can talk to either of us when he's not feeling the man he's becoming." Steve wrapped his arm around Diana's waist.
