Alicia's Season

After his wild summer in Metropolis, Clark just wants things to go back to normal. But nothing in the small town will ever be the same again. There's a killer on the loose targeting meteor freaks and sharing their abilities/ identities with the town. Some call him a menace, while Lana calls him a hero. Meanwhile, a certain blonde is only to eager to mend Clark's broken heart.

1. Chapter 1

Introduction

Consider this section a long-worded explanation of why I chose to write this and a little bit about the style I chose. Feel free to skip to the next page where the story actually begins.

I have a confession to make: I don't enjoy season rewrites. There were several I tried reading, but quickly lost interest because it was just a rehash of the show. There was nothing new or unexpected to read about. Yet, I couldn't get this idea out of my head: what if Alicia was a reoccurring character in Season 3? I loved the chemistry between the actors, and I think Clark and Alicia made a cute couple (before Alicia jumped off the deep end). And really, I think Clark (and the show) would have benefitted if we saw him in a relationship with someone who knew his secret. This would have shown Clark that having a real relationship with someone could be possible, preparing him for his true love: Lois Lane. Also, I think they needed more time together to form a stronger relationship. Red-K Clark from Season 4 wanting to marry Alicia instead of just playing around? I don't think so from what we got.

But the question remained: how can I write I season rehash and expect others to read/ enjoy it when I can't do that for other people? The solution: I tore the entire season down to the main elements and did my own thing. I'll just be focusing on the changes I made for the narrative. That means if anything stays the same to the show, I'll just be giving a quick recap instead of writing all of it. The goal was to have something that could potentially be substituted with the original season we got and for the events of the next season to occur naturally. Would it have made the runtime or have gone over? I didn't think about that part.

Episodes 1 & 2 will have occurred just as they did on the show. This rewrite starts off with episode 3. As with any newcomer, Alicia's first scenes will be short and get longer as the season progresses. If you've seen the show, you already know how things go, but I'm hoping I have a few surprises in store for you. Naturally, since Alicia is vying for Clark's attention while Lana is trying to repair what they had, there will be some drama ahead.
