Thanos was holding the Infinity Stones when Thor hurled Stormbreaker, aiming at his chest.

"I told you. You'd die for that!" Thor said, took hold of the back of Thanos's head and forced Stormbreaker deeper into his chest, staring angrily into his eyes while Thanos cried out in pain.

"You should've... You... You should've gone for the head!!" Thanos said, raised his gauntlet and snapped his fingers.

"NO!"

Thanos was briefly inside the Soul Stone, where he saw a young Gamora on the home world of the Zen-Whoberi.

"Daughter?" Thanos said.

"Did you do it?" Gamora asked.

"Yes."

"What did it cost?"

"... Everything." he said solemnly.

Now out of the Soul Stone, Thanos noticed the damages inflicted on the scorched Gauntlet.

"What did you do?" Thor asked. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" he asked angrily and Thanos mockingly smirked at him before using the Space Stone and teleporting away, leaving Stormbreaker left on the Wakandian field.

"Where'd he go? Thor... where'd he go?" Captain America asked.

"Steve?" Winter Soldier said and Captain America looked at him. "What the hell is going on?"

On the battlefield, Wakankan soldiers disintegrated to ashes, much to M'Baku's horror.

Black Panther was reaching for a fallen Okoye.

"Up, General. Up! This is no place to die." he said and suddenly disintegrated into ashes and Okoye fell back on the ground, much to her anguish.

"Hezvo...?!" Okoye said.

"I am Groot..." Groot said resting on a tree branch; slowly disintegrating, to Rocket.

"No... No. No. No. No! Groot... no." Rocket said as Groot started slowly to corrode into ashes.

Scarlet Witch was mourning over Vision then turned into ashes while an injured Falcon turned to ashes, hidden in the brush.

"Sam? Sam!? Where you at?!" War Machine said searching for Falcon, missing him by only a few feet.

On Titan, the remaining members of the Guardians and Avengers help themselves up from their battle against Thanos they had lost.

"Something... is... happening." Mantis said and was dusted into ashes.

"Quill...?" Drax said to Quill; his right arm and lower-half of his body slowly turning to ashes.

Then he disintegrated next as Quill stared in horror.

"Steady, Quill." Iron Man said.

"Aw, man." Quill said and was disintegrated into ashes.

Strange calmly turned to Iron Man.

"Tony, there was no other way." Strange said and was erased.

'Peter.' Iron Man thought.

"He did it." Nebula said to Iron Man, seeing Thanos' victory.

Iron Man mourned silently at his failure it caused.

Back on Wakanda, Captain America, Thor, War Machine, Black Widow, Bruce, Winter Soldier, and Rocket were left mourning near Vision's dead body.

"What is this? What the hell is happening?" War Machine asked.

"... Oh, God." Captain America said

Meanwhile, on a different planet, Thanos sat down and watched the Sun rising.

"Still no word from Stark?" Fury asked.

"No, not yet. We're watching every satellite in both hemispheres, there's still nothing." Hill said and received three beeps from her device.

"What is it?"

"Multiple bogeys over Wakanda."

"Same energy signatures as New York?"

"Ten times bigger."

"Call Klein. We'll meet him at –"

"NICK!"

Suddenly, a car spiraled out of control into them. Hill went over to check on the driver of the car, but saw no one in there.

"They okay?" Fury .

"There's no one here." Hill said.

Suddenly, a helicopter, with ash flying out, crashed into a building. The two were now witnessing civilians around them suddenly disintegrating.

"Call control. Code Red!" Fury said.

"Nick...?" Hill said alerting him and he turned around to see her disintegrating.

"Hill?" he said, raced back to their car and got a pager out.

He sent out an emergency alert, mere seconds before his hand turned into ashes.

"Oh, no. Motherf –" he said and corroded to dust.

The pager fell to the ground; indicating the symbol of Captain Marvel.

Later the Avengers and Bucky were in New York and Bucky saw Spider-Man sitting on the ground.

"Hey kid!" Bucky said Spider-Man looked at him. "What happened? You OK? I know we didn't start out the best but I just wanted to make sure."

"They're all gone." Spider-Man said and Bucky bent down to his knees.

"Who's gone?"

"My aunt, my friends, Mr. Stark, everyone."

"It's OK." Bucky said. "Why don't you take your mask off and breathe. Then you can come with us and we'll figure this out." he said gently and Spider-Man nodded and took his mask off. "There we go. Now take deep breaths."

A few minutes later he was calm enough and looked around.

"There. Now what's your name kid?" Bucky asked.

"Peter Parker. Sorry about sticking you guys up." Peter said and Bucky chuckled.

"It's OK kid. So how old are you?"

"Sixteen."

"Damn. OK. Why don't you come with me and then we'll figure it out?" Bucky said and Peter nodded and followed him.

When they met up with the others Steve, Natasha, Bruce and Rhodey looked at him confused.

"Who's this?" Steve asked.

"Peter. Also known as Spider-Man." Bucky said and they looked at Peter in shock.

"Hey Brooklyn." Peter said and Bucky snickered.

"Long time no see Queens." Steve said surprised.

"Tony asked a kid to help him?" Rhodey said.

"It's OK Colonel Rhodes. I've been through worse." Peter said and they nodded then looked at Bucky.

"I couldn't just leave him. His aunt was gone and he said she was the only family he had left." Bucky said and Steve couldn't help but smile.

"You never lost the big brother in you do you?" Steve said and Bucky chuckled smiling.

"I guess not. Especially after looking after you for so long." Bucky said and smirked. "With all the fights you got into and being as small and skinny as the kid."

"Hey!" Peter and Steve said while the others laughed at Steve.

"Jerk." Steve said and Bucky smirked.

"Punk." Bucky said and looked at Natasha. "I'm sorry about the shooting I got you over the years." he said and she nodded.

"You didn't have a choice. Now we have both the fossils together." Natasha said smirking a little.

Bucky smirked back and looked at Peter.

"How old is he?" Rhodey asked.

"Sixteen." Peter said and they nodded.

"Alright, let's go figure out what the hell is going on." Steve said and they went to work.

Later the Avengers, Bucky and Peter were dealing with the consequences of the failed counterattack against Thanos that lead to the decimation process as they return to the New Avengers Headquarters. On the computer, the numbers continued to rise as the global death toll reached 3.2 billion.

"This is a nightmare." Steve said.

"I've had better nightmares." Natasha said.

"Same here." Bucky said and Rhodey walked in.

"Hey. So that thing just stopped doing whatever the hell it was doing." Rhodey said and they head to the chamber housing the transmitter device, where Bruce and Peter were analyzing it.

"What have we got?" Natasha asked.

"Whatever the signal is sending, it finally creeped off." Bruce said.

"I thought we bypassed the battery." Steve said.

"We did. It's still plugged in, it just... it just stopped." Rhodey said.

"Reboot and send the signal again."

"We don't even know what this is." Bruce said.

"He's right." Peter said.

"Fury did. Just do it, please. You tell me the second you get a signal. I want to know who's on the other end of that thing." Natasha said and as she turned around, she found herself face to face with Carol Danvers.

"Where's Fury?" Captain Marvel asked.

"Holly shit." Peter said.
