"SONO CHI NO SADAME!" Rias took in a deep breath as the music peaked. "JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOJO!" she struck a pose as the music slowly faded before bowing. Issei clapped and cheered with his several dozen tentacles.
"That's my girl," he patted her on the back as she took her seat. "Wow, you are sweaty. That sure took a lot of effort to sing."
"Of course. The adrenaline was flowing through me like Hamon!" an aura comparable to those of the Super Saiyan transformation was being emitted by Rias, but instead of a bright yellow it was a dangerous red. Oh wait, that was just the aura of the power of destruction. Rias wasn't going Super Saiyan. Issei really wasn't sure if it's a bad or good thing.
Sipping his iced tea as the intro to the next song on queue started playing. "Jibun wo sekai sae wo kaete shimaesou na~" she sang. She danced energetically as she sang, twin-tails flowing through the air with her movement.
"Go Irina!" Rias cheered, LED sticks blinking in her hands.
Issei also cheered with his maracas and tambourines as Irina sang and danced.
"Kokoro wo fukinukeru sora no iro kaoru kaze," Irina ended and made a peace sign, a star somehow twinkled out from the corner of her eye.
Issei and Rias clapped, the latter with more excitement. "Wow, that was perfect!" the karaoke machine said as it displayed a '100 POINTS.'
"Nice! The first 100 of the night! Way to go Irina-chan!" Issei raised his glass. "You were like an idol."
"Thanks," Irina high fived with Issei. "it's your turn darling," she handed him the mic, remote, and songbook. Issei took them and fingered through the thousands of Japanese, English and Korean songs. A few Chinese and Vietnamese songs were in the mix as well as handful of Filipino and Indonesian ones. "Ah here, 'Let Me Hear'… " Issei inputted the song and waited as the computer loaded.
"Go Issei!" "Do your best darling!"
And so, Issei sang the metal song, complete with his hand changing into a tentacle with a mouth and eyes. He nearly turned into a tentacle monster also halfway into the song. He matched the lyrics perfectly, as well as the pitch of the singer. He sang as best as he could to get a—
"0. Git gud nub"
"Whaaaat?!" the trio gaped.
"Must be bugged." Issei shrugged "Whatever you say machine, whatever you say."
"You did well, Issei!" Rias rubbed his back.
"Don't worry dear, that was perfect." Irina chimed in. "Also, that transformation when the heavy metal started was really cool! You were like 'Raghhhhhh Blarhgggghh' and your face was like bleghhh… " Irina made a face, trying to imitate the monstrous face that Issei made. It was more funny than scary though, a sentiment shared by Rias as she chuckled at the antics of her peerage.
"Ehem, we're here to celebrate Irina's return from Europe. A toast to Irina's safe return."
"Cheers!" Issei clinked his glass with Rias' raised glass while Irina blushed.
"I wasn't gone that long. It was only a week." Irina said. "You guys missed me that much eh?"
"Yep, we're not a full family without our ray of sunshine~" Rias winked.
"Ehehe…" Irina rubbed the back of her head.
"A shame that Koneko was not able to come, she had an important contract tonight. And Gasper… well, you know Gasper, he's still shy." Issei shrugged "The whole family's not here."
"Hush now, you're ruining the mood," Rias elbowed him. "So," she turned to Irina "How was your trip to Europe?"
"It was good. I managed to get an audience with the higher ups of the Church. They will send a pastor from America to further investigate," a pair of angel wings sprouted from Irina's back. "And maybe they could send an angel too. They said that they will contact the Fallen and the Magician Association. You know how those guys love tinkering with new things."
Rias pulled out her phone. "I will have to tell Sona to tell Lady Leviathan to get ready those papers. A Protestant Pastor?" Irina nodded to Rias' question. "The probability of an angel, as well as some Fallen and some mages. Is that all?"
"Yep."
Rias nodded and hit the send button after a quick scan. "Now that is taken care of, let's party! What would you like for dinner? And Issei, no, cheesecake is not a good meal. You can have that for dessert though."
Issei raised his hands in surrender. "I didn't even say anything."
Irina giggled and sorted through the menu that Rias handed her. "I'll have something light, I still have some jet lag." Irina said and hummed. "I think some ochazuke would be wonderful."
"Alright. And you Issei?"
"Two bowls of Chinese style beef noodles please. And tell them to double the spiciness of it."
"Drinks?"
"I'll just have some water." Irina said
"Cucumber-lemon juice."
"Alright, I'll be back in a while. You two have fun catching up~" Rias stood up, smoothing out the wrinkles on her dress and left the room with a peace sign.
"Take care, love ya."
Rias sent Issei a flying kiss as she closed the door.
Irina pouted. Issei took hold of Irina's cheek, rubbing them tenderly whilst bring their head together. "I love you too. I think you know that already," he smiled softly and kissed her lips, bringing a smile out of the blonde in front of him.
"I just can't help but be envious sometimes. I am your wife too…" Irina pouted returned, albeit the mirth in her eyes are evident to Issei.
Issei laughed. "Yes, that's true."
"And, I also know that no matter how many women you bed, you will still love me," Irina struck "woe is me" pose. "Woe is me; I must be cursed to love such a casanova."
"Woe is you indeed. This man has the key to your heart~" Issei slung an arm around Irina's shoulder as they sat, watching the scenes on the karaoke player screen while waiting for Rias. "How was your trip to Europe?"
"It was good. Ah, have I told you about the nun I brought home?"
"Nope."
"Teehee~" Irina knocked on her temple with her knuckles lightly. "I kind of forgot to tell Rias too. Anyway, as I was flying over Italy, a little bit away from Vatican City, I saw a girl healing a devil. She was of the Catholic faith, of course."
"Wait, what was a Devil doing near the Vatican?"
"Tempting the gay priests?" Irina shrugged "Anyway, the exorcists that were chasing the devil came upon the scene when the devil was fully healed and so they fought. The exorcists were losing so I butted into the fight. They may be Roman Catholics but that doesn't mean I shouldn't save them, right?" Issei nodded to Irina's question and so she continued her tale. "Well, I fought off the Devil, the exorcists saw my angel wings, and they started praying to me," Irina blushed and Issei laughed.
"That must've been awkward."
"You bet! You must only pray to God! Not an angel, (smh)," Irina said and shook her head. "I told them to go see a healer."
"Wasn't the nun with you guys?"
"That was soooo embarrassing! I know!" Irina covered her face. "The battle was so intense that I forgot we had a healer right there," she cleared her throat and Issei stopped laughing, although he still had a grin. "The nun healed them, they realized that she also healed that devil, then they called her a heretic and threatened to purge her!" Irina huffed, pissed at the reactions of the exorcists to the one who healed them.
"You tried negotiating?"
"I did. Despite seeing that I am an angel, they didn't budge on their decision. They didn't even let us go. So, I fought them," a smile wormed its way onto Irina's previously enraged and tired face. "The girl looked so happy. I didn't know why though," Irina sighed lightly, a sigh of gladness. "I managed to knock out the exorcists and save the nun. I told her about the situation and offered to give her protection."
Issei rubbed Irina's shoulders. "You brought her here?"
"Yes, I did." Irina said with pride. "She's taking up my room right now."
"Ah, so that was that different scent."
"Yep!" Irina said. After a moment of silence she added. "It felt just right to protect her. You'll know when you see her. She just has that aura of innocence that makes you want to protect her."
"Can't wait." Issei said.
"Same, dear, same. You'll like her."
"You said that she was staying in your room, right?"
"Yeah."
"I feel like Rias is going to be pissed."
"No prob," Irina gave Issei a double-thumbs up. "I bet you that Rias will love her."
"That won't stop her from getting a headache though."
"Not my problem," Irina said in her usual carefree, sing-song voice.
Issei laughed. "I love you."
Irina leaned in to kiss his lips.
