~~Hello, readers, I'm back with a new chapter.
I don't own anything from Pokémon or Assassination Classroom.
Only my original characters belong to me.~~
I woke up to the constant beeping sound of my alarm clock.
All four Pokémon lay asleep on my bed beside me.
I reached over to my bedside table and turned off the alarm.
The screen on my alarm clock read: 7:00 AM.
Complete silence filled my room once again.
I sat up carefully in order to prevent myself from disturbing the sleeping Pokémon around me.
Then I stepped onto the floor and stretched.
Lilipup woke up and jumped down after me.
I giggled at the sound of Lilipup's nails repeatedly tapping on the hard wood floor as it hopped around.
"Hey, Lilipup," I greeted while petting its head.
Lilipup followed me while panting happily as I walked toward my closet.
I slid the glass door open, then grabbed an outfit off the dresser.
Lilipup sat down on the floor and watched as I changed into my school clothes.
I then sat down on the stool in front of my vanity and retrieved a hair brush from one of the drawers.
I brushed the tangles out of my hair, then styled it into two long braids.
Lilipup affectionately leaned against my leg.
I slipped into a train of deep thought during my activity.
Memories of my interactions with Korosensei and Nagisa played in my mind like a movie.
I couldn't help but smile at the sound of their wonderful voices.
After putting on my necklace, I grabbed my bag and stood up.
"Let's go, everyone," I urged as I walked toward the door.
My other three Pokémon woke up and came running toward me.
Lilipup started to growl in annoyance as Oshawott playfully nudged it.
"You guys are crazy," I commented with a sigh.
I opened my bedroom door, then led the excited Pokémon downstairs.
All four of my Pokémon became restless as we reached the bottom step.
"Let's go outside," I said as I led them straight to the back door.
Lilipup clawed at the glass while whimpering in excitement.
"Korosensei would've loved to hear that," I thought with a grin.
I laughed as I slid the glass door open.
"Go out, knuckleheads," I commanded.
All four Pokémon immediately took off outside.
I closed the back door, then made my way into the living room.
Kara sat on the couch watching Tv.
"Good morning, Mother," I greeted as I plopped down on the opposite couch.
Kara paused the Tv and looked at her daughter.
"Same to you, Sioku, did you sleep well?" she replied.
"I did have a nightmare last night, but I'll be just fine today. I promise," I assured.
"You'll be distracted from it as soon as you go to school," Kara said.
Umbreon strolled over to me and sat down by my feet.
Her long fur lightly brushed up against my leg.
I wrapped my arms around the dark type Pokémon and held her tight for a minute.
"Good girl, Umbreon," I praised softly.
Umbreon wagged her tail gently in return.
A brief period of silence passed by.
"Sioku, you need to get a move on. I don't want you to miss the train," said Kara.
"You're right, Mother," I replied as I released Umbreon.
Umbreon stood up and shook her ears.
"You're so cute, Umbreon," I commented.
I rose from the couch, then made my way into the kitchen.
As I was making breakfast for my Pokémon and myself in the kitchen, Leafeon bolted into the room followed by Jolteon.
The sound of those two Pokémon sliding across the floor made me laugh.
I looked down and saw them holding each end of a pull rope.
Jolteon dragged Leafeon in circles around the counter in the center of the kitchen.
Both Pokémon playfully growled at each other.
I thought about recording their wild game for Korosensei and Nagisa, but I decided to focus on getting ready for school.
Mom would've scolded me if she caught me goofing around with her Pokémon.
"Both of you, out," I ordered sternly.
Jolteon turned around and dragged Leafeon back into the living room.
"Settle down, you two," said Kara.
I let my Pokémon inside before we settled ourselves into the dining area.
My Pokémon excitedly gathered around their bowl.
A text message from Nagisa popped up on my cross transceiver as I was eating my breakfast at the table.
The message read: Hey, Sioku, how are you?
I picked up the device and responded: "Hello, Nagisa, I'm okay.
After breakfast, I quickly cleaned up my mess.
I then hurried into the bathroom to finish my morning routine.
The medical events from my recent nightmare echoed in my mind.
I let out a dejected sigh as I stared at my reflection in the mirror.
"Oh wow, nightmares really do take the energy out of me. I could use the sound of Korosensei's voice right now," I said to myself.
A knock at the door suddenly startled me out of my thoughts.
I opened the door to find Kara standing near the entrance.
"Sioku, don't forget to return your Pokémon to their Pokéballs and take them with you," she said.
"Yes, ma'am," I replied as I exited the bathroom.
Without further delay, I rushed back into the living room where all four of my Pokémon had been gathered around Sylveon.
I opened up their Pokéballs and commanded, "Oshawott, Lilipup, Purrloin, Mareep, return."
My Pokémon immediately allowed themselves to get pulled inside their Pokéballs.
I looked up at a clock on the wall and realized that I still had some time left until the train was scheduled to arrive at Aspertia Station.
A hopeful smile formed on my face as a thought crossed my mind.
"Pardon me, Mother, are you busy?" I asked.
"No, Sioku, why?" Kara responded briefly.
"I would like to have a practice battle with you before I go to school," I answered plainly.
Kara thought for a moment as she stared into my eyes.
"Okay, Sioku, I'll have a one-on-one battle with you while we still have time. Please follow me out to the back yard," she agreed.
Jolteon eagerly ran to Kara's side.
"I choose you," Jolteon," she said with a smile.
Jolteon wagged it's tail happily in return.
I giggled as I watched a small, electric spark fly from the end of Jolteon's tail.
"Your Pokémon looks fired up," I commented.
Kara and her Jolteon led me through the kitchen and out the back door.
She and I stood at each end of a mini arena.
An image of Korosensei flashed through my mind, giving me a major boost of courage.
"Thank you, Korosensei," I thought with a determined smile.
I confidently held up a Pokéball.
"Lilipup, I choose you!" I called out.
The little dog Pokémon emerged from its Pokéball, then bolted straight toward Jolteon.
"Sioku, what is wrong with your Pokémon?" asked Kara with a dumbfounded expression.
"My Lilipup might have little dog complex," I stated.
"I've never seen a Pokémon do that before," she added.
Lilipup stopped directly in front of Jolteon, growling viciously while staring at it.
The hairs on Lilipup's back stood straight up.
Jolteon seemed to be unfazed by Lilipup's challenge and waited patiently for Kara's instructions.
"You may have the first move, Mother," I said with a tense expression.
"Very well, Sioku," Kara replied.
"Use thunderbolt, Jolteon," she commanded.
Jolteon launched a thunderbolt toward Lilipup from the end of its tail.
"Circle around Jolteon, Lilipup," I countered.
Lilipup continued to growl at Jolteon while circling it like a wild animal to its prey.
Jolteon kept its eyes on Lilipup, attempting to strike it with the thunderbolt.
The thunderbolt soon dissipated, leaving behind a weak spark.
Jolteon let its tail fall down behind it in defeat.
"Step one of my strategy is complete," I thought with an accomplished grin.
"What are you grinning at, Sioku?" asked Kara.
"Oh… you'll see," I answered mischeiviously.
"Now jump up and use bite, Lilipup," I added.
Using its hind legs, Lilipup propelled itself into the air before landing a direct bite attack on Jolteon's neck.
Jolteon howled in pain and stumbled backward.
"Nice shot, Lilipup," I praised.
Lilipup wagged its tail excitedly in return.
"My strategy worked, Korosensei," I thought with a victorious grin.
Kara returned my mischeivious grin with an approving smile.
"Good move, Sioku, you must've put a lot of effort into that one. I'm proud of you," she praised.
"Thank you, Mother," I replied with a smile of my own.
"However, that doesn't mean I'll go easy on you during this battle. I plan to keep challenging you," Kara continued.
I accept your challenge," I responded boldly.
Lilipup relentlessly clung to Jolteon's neck.
"Shake it off, Jolteon," ordered Kara.
Jolteon fiercely shook its entire body until it finally flung Lilipup away.
Lilipup crashed to the ground with a hard thud.
"Oh no… Lilipup! Are you all right?" I hollered.
Lilipup lay motionless on the floor.
"Use thunderbolt on Lilipup while it's down, Jolteon," Kara instructed.
I watched hopelessly as Jolteon unleashed a second thunderbolt that struck Lilipup.
Lilipup's tiny body convulsed for a few seconds as it was zapped badly.
"Mother wasn't kidding about not making this battle easy for me. I don't think my poor Lilipup has enough energy to continue fighting her Jolteon. But… I can't give up now, not while Nagisa and Korosensei are watching me in spirit. I won't let them see me get defeated," I thought.
I then turned to my Lilipup who started to sit up.
"Lilipup, can you still fight?" I asked hopefully.
Lilipup weakly rose to its feet, then slowly returned to the arena.
"That's the spirit, Lilipup," I praised.
Lilipup growled menacingly as its glare pierced through Jolteon's soul.
"Wow, Sioku, your Lilipup really does have little dog complex. It's stubborn behavior reminds me of you," Kara commented.
"Thanks, Mother," I retorted sarcastically.
"Lilipup, it's time to turn this battle around. Use bite and aim for Jolteon's legs," I commanded.
Lilipup charged forward, then sank its fangs into one of Jolteon's back legs.
"Swipe at Lilipup with iron tail, Jolteon," Kara countered.
Jolteon wiggled its leg out of Lilipup's grip, then swatted the dog away with a powerful iron tail attack.
Lilipup crashed to the ground once more.
"Lilipup… no!" I cried sadly.
"This battle is over," Kara declared.
"You're right, Mother," I replied in defeat.
"Your training has come a long way, Sioku," Kara said smoothly.
"Thank you," I replied briefly.
"You should stop by the Pokémon center on your way to school," Kara suggested.
"Yes, ma'am," I responded while opening up Lilipup's Pokéball.
"Lilipup, return," I commanded.
Lilipup tiredly let itself get pulled inside the ball.
Kara followed behind me as I hurried inside the house.
As I approached the front door, Umbreon ran circles around me while wagging her tail wildly.
"Settle down, Umbreon. You can't go with me this time," I said sympathetically.
Umbreon sat on the floor and sighed.
I couldn't help but giggle at that.
"Have a good day at school, Sioku," said Kara.
"Thank you, Mother, I'll see you later. You have a good day as well," I replied politely.
I petted Umbreon's head before walking out the door.
Once outside, I sprinted down a sidewalk that led straight to the Pokémon center.
I hurried inside the building and approached the front desk.
Nurse Joy quickly healed Lilipup before I exited the Pokémon center.
Without further delay, I sprinted to the train station.
Luckily, the train hadn't shown up by the time I got there.
I sat down on a bench and tried to catch my breath.
The morning sky had been covered by white puffy clouds.
A train pulled up to the platform a few minutes later.
"I'll be with you soon, Korosensei, Nagisa," I whispered.
I boarded the train, then sat down in one of the middle seats.
The train ride was mostly silent except for the sound of the cars moving.
I stared out the window lost in deep thought.
All I could think about was reuniting with Nagisa and Korosensei at school.
The train arrived at Kunugigaoka Junior High School a half hour later.
As soon as it came to a stop, I stood up and exited the train as soon as possible.
Many people ran carelessly up and down the walkways as I tried to wieve through the huge crowds.
Without any hesitation, I quickly made my way straight to Korosensei's classroom.
On my way there, I was intercepted by Nagisa near a picnic spot.
A feeling of relief washed over me at the sight of his friendly face.
"Good morning, Nagisa," I greeted with a smile.
"Same to you, Sioku, how was your night?" Nagisa replied.
I let out a fearful sigh as I remembered my recent nightmare.
"What's wrong, Sioku?" asked Nagisa.
"I had a terrible nightmare about a traumatic event from my past," I answered sadly.
"Really? What happened?" Nagisa inquired.
"This incident happened when I was in fourth grade. I wasn't a Pokémon trainer two years ago. It was afternoon recess time, and my classmates had already gone out to the playground. Julie didn't allow me to go out and play because I got in trouble for laughing in class. She punished me by making me work on Type to Learn in the computer lab. I had a few minor panic attacks during that time. My situation got much worse when I returned to class from the computer lab. I had a burning sensation in my chest that literally felt like fire. It was very difficult for me to stay focused, but I forced myself to ignore the intense pain. Julie wouldn't have let me go to the nurse anyway. On the train coming home, I was having trouble breathing. My body was really weak by the time I got off the train. I dragged myself inside my house and flopped down on the couch. After telling my mom the story, she carried me into her car and drove me to the nearest hospital. I was immediately checked in and then brought into a room. The nurse took my vitals and examined me. Then the doctor came in and gave me medicine through an IV. I also had an oxygen mask over my face. All seemed to be going well until my monitors began beeping erratically. Alarms rang throughout the area and alerted the doctors. Both doctors and nurses rushed into my room. My heart needed to be shocked three times in order to get its normal rhythm back. The nurses continued to push IV medication into my veins. I stayed in the intensive care unit for a week once my condition had stabilized," I explained.
Nagisa stood still wearing a stunned expression.
"Wow, Sioku, that situation must have been really rough on you. I'm so glad that you survived," he said softly.
"Thank you, Nagisa," I replied as I hugged him tight.
Nagisa returned the hug in a loving way.
It felt good to be back in his warm embrace.
I started to relax as we held each other.
Nagisa noticed the red handprint still on my cheek.
"Sioku, did somebody hit you yesterday?" he asked with a deeply concerned expression.
"Yes, I just got into an altercation with my mom last night. I'll be okay," I answered casually.
"She didn't have a right to put her hands on you," Nagisa added with a worried frown.
"Don't let it get to you, Nagisa," I said with a smile.
"Would you like to go to Korosensei's class now, Sioku?" Nagisa asked softly.
"Sure, I would love to go there with you. I'm just happy to be going with you instead of Mis Julie," I answered with a smile.
Nagisa and I released each other before we started walking toward our classroom.
I was finally able to enjoy my walk since Julie wasn't around to embarrass me.
Much to my surprise, Korosensei met Nagisa and me at the bottom of the ramp.
"Good morning, Sioku, Nagisa," he greeted happily.
My ears perked up instantly at the sound of our teacher's pleasant voice.
"Same to you, sir," replied Nagisa.
"Good morning, Korosensei," I added.
"Please follow me inside," Korosensei urged gently.
I grinned and let out a dreamy sigh.
"Sioku really likes the sound of your voice, Korosensei," Nagisa pointed out.
"Zip it," I responded while poking Nagisa in his arm.
Nagisa only giggled at that.
Once inside, Nagisa sat down at his desk.
I followed Korosensei over to his place and sat down beside him.
"Sioku, is everything all right? There must be a reason why you followed me here without saying anything," said Korosensei with a concerned expression.
"No, Korosensei, I had a crazy afternoon and a rough night yesterday. However, there were some good parts of my day. Nagisa came over to my house for a few hours. I also won my first Unova gym badge," I explained.
"Congratulations on your victory, Sioku. I'm glad to know that Nagisa was there to watch," the teacher said with a smile.
"I wish you were there to see my gym battle," I whispered back.
A brief period of silence passed between us.
"You should've seen the action in that gym, Korosensei. Those creatures were incredible to see," said Nagisa.
"Wow, that sounds great. Maybe I'll come and watch your next match, Sioku," Korosensei responded with joy.
I jumped up from my seat wearing a joyous expression.
"Really? Do you seriously mean that, Korosensei?" I asked in a happier tone.
"Of course, I want to see the action too. It will be fun," Korosensei answered cheerfully.
Without thinking, I threw my arms around the teacher and hugged him tight.
A surge of hyper energy rushed through my system like a gust of wind.
"Oh, Korosensei, I would absolutely love it if you and Nagisa came to watch my next gym battle. I promise to make both of you proud," I said.
"Nagisa and I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Sioku. We believe in you," Korosensei replied.
All of the bad thoughts from my nightmare faded away as I continued to hug Korosensei.
I also forgot about my recent panic attack.
"Sioku, can you tell me why your night was so rough?" Korosensei asked gently.
I held Korosensei close to me for comfort.
"First, Julie's daughter Mira and her friend Kiara purposely frightened me with a medical video after I refused to have a training battle with them. Later, I had a horrible nightmare about a traumatic medical event from my past," I explained.
"I'm so sorry, Sioku, is there anything I can do to help you?" the teacher continued sympathetically.
"You're already helping by letting me stay with you right now. I really appreciate your support," I said softly.
"That's wonderful, Sioku, I'm glad to be a part of your life. Thank you for trusting me," he replied.
Korosensei and I were startled by the bell ringing.
I released him, then walked over to my seat.
"Sioku, are you okay?" asked Nagisa.
"I simply nodded before situating myself.
"I forgot to mention that I had a practice battle with my mom before coming to school," I whispered to Nagisa.
"How did that go?" he asked curiously.
"My Lilipup got defeated by my mom's Jolteon," I answered quietly.
"Hopefully you'll win your next match," Nagisa added.
A long period of silence passed by
I watched Korosensei as he walked out the door.
He then returned with the rest of his students and Mr. Carasuma following behind him.
