~~Hello, readers, I'm back with a new chapter.
Pokémon and Assassination Classroom don't belong to me.
I only own my original characters.~~
It was still early morning at Kunugigaoka Junior High School.
My friend Nagisa Shiota and I had just entered Korosensei's classroom.
Many conversations were going on at once.
I stared down at my desk as I listened to the constant chattering around me.
Much to my annoyance, I spotted Julie slipping in after the crowd.
She sneakily took her seat next to the file cabinet.
Her death stare pierced through my soul like a knife.
I watched with a look of shock as one of the boys struck Korosensei with a baseball bat.
Korosensei just blocked the weapon, then gave the boy complements and advice.
I stared at Korosensei with a look of confusion.
It was becoming more difficult for me to hear Korosensei encourage his students to assassinate him.
As soon as everyone got situated in their seats, Korosensei took attendance.
He then gave another lecture on assassination.
I heard Nagisa and Kayano having another conversation during the lecture.
After his lecture, Korosensei instructed us to line up at the door.
"Attention, boys and girls, we are going back to the computer lab. Please follow me," he said before opening the door.
I groaned internally at that and lowered my head.
Type to Learn was the last thing I needed after all the stress that I had been put through yesterday.
Nagisa stood behind me in line once again.
Korosensei led us out the door and straight down a path that led to the computer lab.
Once inside, my classmates and I sat down at the tables.
We then logged into our computer profiles.
Our assignment was to resume working on Type to Learn.
I didn't pay any attention to Julie who quietly pulled up a chair near the door and sat down.
Nagisa lightly tapped on my shoulder.
"Sioku, are you going to be okay?" he whispered.
"Yes, Nagisa, thank you for checking on me. I appreciate your kindness," I answered softly.
I watched the short introduction video while trying to maintain my composure.
Then I carefully typed a list of seven words that had been displayed on the screen.
The sounds did frighten me, but I forced my fears down immediately.
I refused to show any reaction in order to prevent myself from attracting unwanted attention from Julie.
Much to my surprise, Korosensei slowly approached me from the left.
I sensed his calming presence and let it take my mind to a better place.
"Hello, Sioku, how are you doing?" he asked.
The soothing sound of Korosensei's voice blocked out my fear of the list completion noise.
"Hi, Korosensei, I'm doing much better than yesterday. Thank you for coming to talk to me. You just prevented a panic attack," I responded with a grateful smile.
Korosensei gently placed one of his tentacles over my shoulder.
"That's good, Sioku, you're most welcome. I am always glad to help you out," the teacher said happily.
My conversation with Korosensei drowned out the dreaded robotic computer voice.
The voice almost didn't exist in that moment.
I was finally able to focus with him by my side.
Korosensei watched me with curiosity as I easily completed more typing lessons.
"Wow, Sioku, your accuracy is perfect so far. How did you learn to type so well?" he said with admiration.
"I've been using this boring program for a few years now," I answered with a disappointed sigh.
Korosensei laughed out loud in response.
"I appreciate your honesty, Sioku," he added.
I couldn't help but laugh along with him.
Korosensei calmly removed his tentacle from my shoulder and walked away.
"My teacher is so wonderful," I thought dreamily.
A half hour later, Korosensei instructed us to log out of our profiles and line up at the door.
The conversations immediately began again.
I stood up and stretched my legs before following Nagisa to the line.
"Hey Sioku, how are you feeling?" asked Nagisa.
"I feel great, thanks to Korosensei. He really helped me out," I answered cheerfully.
Once outside, my classmates and I followed Korosensei back to the classroom.
The lunch bell rang, and we were all dismissed.
I watched Korosensei as he flew out of the room.
As my classmates and I made our way toward the cafeteria, I heard a few girls talking about Korosensei's mach 20 speed.
"Sioku, would you like to have lunch with me again today?" asked Nagisa.
"Of course," I answered with a bright smile.
Nagisa and I stood at the back of a long line.
"It feels good to have a break from my panic attacks," I said to Nagisa.
"I don't blame you, Sioku," Nagisa replied with sympathy in his voice.
I paced back and forth while waiting for the line to move up.
"What are you thinking about, Sioku?" asked Nagisa as he grinned at me.
"Korosensei," I answered dreamily.
"You're always thinking about him," Nagisa teased.
I only giggled at that.
After ordering our food, Nagisa and I sat down at that same picnic bench near the brick planter box.
Birds chirped in the treetops above us.
A gust of wind shook the leaves on the tree branches.
Nagisa and I ate our meal in silence.
Our peaceful moment was soon interrupted when I saw Julie walking toward the table.
I put on a friendly smile in order to prevent any suspician of negativity.
"Good afternoon, mis Julie," I greeted.
"Same to you, Sioku, we need to have a talk. Please follow me," Julie replied.
Nagisa and I were instantly surprised by her calm demeaner.
"Please excuse me, Nagisa, I have to go now. I'll see you back in class," I said as I stood up.
"Good luck, Sioku," Nagisa replied.
I reluctantly followed Julie across the campus.
She then led me into an unoccupied room near the gym.
There were a few chairs and tables set up in different places.
"Sit down, Sioku," Julie instructed as she took her seat at one of the tables.
I sat down on a leather chair across from her.
"What would you like to talk about, Mis Julie?" I asked casually.
Julie crossed her arms and stared into my eyes.
"Sioku, I appreciate you for not freaking out over Type to Learn during computer class. You acted like a normal student for once," she praised.
I stared awkwardly at Julie in response to her last statement.
The fact that Julie's anger wasn't directed at me was making my head spin.
"However, something about that class bothers me to no end," she continued in a serious tone.
"What's that?" I asked briefly.
"Your teacher, Sioku, he doesn't take academic subjects seriously at all. The only thing that he has been teaching you guys is how to become assassins. That didn't happen to anybody back in elementary school," Julie explained.
"That's not true, Korosensei teaches all academic subjects. Mr. Carasuma is there to help him," I said calmly.
"Sioku, I've witnessed the erratic behavior of your classmates. Your careless teacher allows them to fool around like kindergarteners," Julie replied harshly.
"He's not... careless," I whispered sadly.
"Any student who enters a rediculous class like that will have a terrible future. The weird-looking mutant could never be a real teacher," Julie added.
My demeaner automatically changed from calm to furious as I listened to Julie speak.
"Why are you saying such negative things about Korosensei? He has nothing but love and compassion for all of us. Korosensei may not look like a human at all, but he does act like one. My teacher has a heart of gold and a caring personality," I protested.
"Listen to me, Sioku, the pathetic mutant who you call your teacher is a complete joke. You'll never learn anything in his messed up class," Julie argued.
"Why are you confronting me about this? Shouldn't you be expressing your feelings to Korosensei?" I asked in a calmer voice.
"I have no intention of saying a word to that ugly mutant," Julie answered sharply.
"Mis Julie, stop calling my teacher names. You're the one who's acting like a child now," I said defensively.
"Don't you use that tone of voice toward me, young lady," Julie replied roughly.
A brief period of silence passed between us.
"Sioku, you've received exceptional grades every year back in elementary school. i know that you have the potential to keep doing well for yourself. You'll never score high on anything in that poor excuse for a class," Julie said smoothly.
My eyes widened in utter shock.
I had never heard her say anything positive about me before.
"Hold on, mis Julie, why do you care about me all of a sudden? You literally told me that I won't ever succeed and refuse to grow up yesterday," I replied with a dumbfounded expression.
"You're right, Sioku, I haven't been giving you the chance to prove yourself to me. I promise to be kind toward you from now on. Also, I don't want to see you fail both as a student and a Pokémon trainer," Julie added warmly.
I laughed at the emptiness in the woman's words.
"Get real, mis Julie, do you honestly expect me to believe anything that comes out of your filthy mouth?" I questioned with a look of irritation.
"Sioku, I don't care whether you believe me or not. However, you are not allowed to talk to me that way. I am trying to remove you from a dangerous situation," Julie countered.
In the midst of our conversation, we heard the bell ring.
"You and I will talk more about this later because I am leaving early today. Please go to class," Julie said as she stood up.
I stood up quietly and followed her out the door.
Julie and I then went our separate ways.
~In the Parking Lot~
Julie exited Kunugigaoka Academy through the gate and made her way to the train station.
She pulled out her phone while waiting for a train to arrive.
After dialing Kara's number, Julie let her phone ring.
Kara picked up the line almost instantly.
"Hello, Kara, how are you today?" Julie greeted.
Kara spoke to her on the other end, "Hi, Julie, I'm doing just fine. How are you?"
"That's good, I'm doing okay as well. I called because I have some urgent business to discuss with you. You and I should think about moving Sioku to a different class for her own safety," Julie answered.
"Why? Is something wrong?" Kara asked.
"Yes, Kara, Sioku's teacher is nothing but a disgusting joke who has no educational experience. He is trying to teach his students how to become cold blooded assassins. That ugly mutant also lets them fool around and use weapons in the classroom," Julie explained.
The line went silent for a moment.
"Thank you, Julie, I appreciate you for looking after my daughter. Please give me an update if anything else happens," Kara replied.
"You're welcome, Kara, I won't let Sioku get hurt. You can count on me to protect her from danger," Julie said before she hung up the phone.
As soon as a train arrived at the station, Julie boarded it before taking off.
~Back at School~
On my way back to class, Nagisa caught up to me.
I was happy to see his cute face again.
"Hi, Sioku, how did the conversation with your assistant go?" he greeted.
"Okay, I guess," I answered with a sigh.
"Is everything all right?" Nagisa inquired.
"No, Nagisa, Mis Julie won't give Korosensei a chance at all. She also thinks that I will never beable to learn anything in his class," I explained.
"I don't know what she's talking about. Korosensei is the best teacher any student could ever ask for," Nagisa said.
"I agree with you 100 percent, Nagisa. I know that he wants the best for us," I replied.
Nagisa and I entered the classroom after everybody else.
I sat down at my desk and remained silent.
Korosensei stood at the front of the room.
"Okay, boys and girls, we are going out to the field for exercise," he said.
All of the other students immediately got excited and started to talk loudly as they lined up.
I stayed at the back of the line and kept to myself.
Once outside, my classmates and I followed Korosensei up a cemented ramp that led to an enormous field.
A chain-link fence surrounded the perimeter.
We got a great view of the school from up at the top.
"All right, class, we're going to play baseball. This will just be a practice game," said Korosensei.
One by one, each person got to hit the ball and run to all four bases.
Nagisa cheered me on whenever I was about to run to a bace.
During the game, Korosensei gave us a lecture on coming up with an original plan to assassinate him.
I used the sound of his voice as motivation to keep my strength up.
After a few more rounds, Korosensei allowed us to take a break and sit on the benches.
I overheard a heart warming conversation between Korosensei and Nagisa.
Korosensei told Nagisa that he would always go above and beyond to help us become better people.
Those selfless words were filled with emotion as Korosensei spoke to Nagisa in a calm voice.
Emotions welled up inside me as I listened.
Tears lined the corners of my eyes.
"That is exactly why I love him," I thought.
I inconspicuously slipped away from the group and hurried to the other side of the field.
I then sent Oshawott and Mareep out of their Pokéballs.
"Let's have a training battle," I said.
The two Pokémon stood in the grass while facing each other.
"Oshawott, use water gun," I commanded.
Oshawott shot a jet of water at Mareep.
"Mareep, use spark," I instructed.
Sparks flew from the end of Mareep's tail in Oshawott's direction.
"Now use tackle," I said.
Mareep charged forward and tackled Oshawott to the ground.
"Oshawott, use razor shell," I commanded.
Oshawott struck Mareep with a powerful razor shell attack.
"Mareep, use spark," I instructed.
More sparks flew from the end of Mareep's tail and hit Oshawott.
Oshawott stumbled backward in pain.
In the midst of my training, I heard footsteps coming toward me from behind.
I turned around to see Nagisa walking toward me.
"Hey, Sioku, what's going on?" he asked curiously.
A light blush came to my cheeks as I stared at him.
"My Pokémon are having a practice battle against each other," I informed.
"Is it okay if I watch?" Nagisa continued.
"I don't mind at all," I said happily.
I then turned back to Oshawott and instructed, "Use tackle on Mareep."
Oshawott rose to it's feet, then tackled Mareep to the ground.
"Get up and use tackle, Mareep," I added.
Mareep also rose to its feet, then slammed Oshawott to the floor with more force than it normally would.
"Wo, that looked like a new move to me. I think Mareep is trying to learn the move take down," I said to Nagisa.
"Really? I'm proud of your creature's progress," Nagisa replied with a smile.
In the midst of our conversation, a bright light emitted from Mareep's woll covered body.
"Sioku, what's happening to your Pokémon?" asked Nagisa.
"Mareep is about to evolve," I answered with a proud grin.
Mareep's entire body was covered by the light as it grew bigger.
Nagisa watched the evolution with wide eyes.
Mareep was now a Flaafy.
"Wow, Sioku, that evolution thing was really cool. Your creature definitely looks much bigger now," said Nagisa with a look of admiration.
"This Pokémon is called Flaafy. Its type is still electric," I informed.
Korosensei heard our conversation and strolled over to us.
I grinned dreamily at the teacher as he approached.
"Hello, you two, I saw a bright light glowing in this area. What's going on?" he said.
"Nagisa was just watching my practice battle. My electric Pokémon evolved as well," I replied joyfully.
Korosensei looked down at the newly evolved Flaafy and smiled.
"Congratulations, Sioku," he said proudly.
"Thank you, Korosensei, my water Pokémon is very close to evolving. Would you like to see the evolution?" I replied with glee.
"I would love to see it," the teacher answered.
I opened up Flaafy's Pokéball and said, "Thank you for working hard, Flaafy. Return and take a good rest."
Flaafy let itself get pulled inside the Pokéball.
I then held up Lilipup's Pokéball.
"Lilipup, I choose you!" I called out.
Lilipup emerged from the Pokéball while wagging its tail.
"That puppy is so cute," commented Nagisa.
"I agree," responded Korosensei.
I pointed at Oshawott and commanded, "Use water gun."
Oshawott aimed a jet of water in Lilipup's face.
"Lilipup, use bite," I instructed.
Lilipup charged forward and landed a direct hit on Oshawott.
The sea otter stumbled backward in pain.
"Oshawott, fight back with razor shell," I said.
Oshawott turned around and hit Lilipup with its sharpened sea shell.
The little dog fell over in pain.
"Lilipup, use tackle," I commanded.
Lilipup jumped up in the air using its hind legs, then tackled Oshawott to the ground.
"Oshawott, use razor shell one more time," I instructed.
Oshawott rose to its feet and struck Lilipup with its shell again.
The dog stumbled back but shook off the pain.
"Wo, the battle between these two creatures is intense. I've never seen anything like this," said Korosensei.
"Pokémon battles are awesome," replied Nagisa.
Lilipup, use bite, I commanded.
Lilipup jumped up and bit Oshawott on its neck.
"Oshawott, use water gun," I instructed.
The sea otter sprayed Lilipup with another jet of water.
Lilipup crashed to the ground with a thud.
I opened up Lilipup's Pokéball and said softly, "Thank you for your help, Lilipup. Please return and take a good rest."
Lilipup weakly let itself get pulled inside the Pokéball.
That same bright light emitted from Oshawott's body.
"There's that bright light again," said Korosensei.
"Look, Korosensei, Sioku's water Pokémon is about to evolve," replied Nagisa.
The bright light covered Oshawott's body as it began to change.
Nagisa and Korosensei stood still while watching the evolution with stunned expressions.
Oshawott was now a Dewott.
"Sioku, that evolution process was truly amazing to see. Congratulations to you and your creature," praised Korosensei.
"Thank you very much, Korosensei. You and Nagisa helped us out with your encouragement," I replied gratefully.
"You're most welcome, Sioku," Korosensei added.
I opened up Dewott's Pokéball and said, "Thank you for your hard work, Dewott. Return and take a good rest."
Dewott let itself get pulled inside the Pokéball.
"Sioku, what made you decide to start training your Poéemon over here?" asked Nagisa.
"I was feeling emotional about your conversation with Korosensei earlier," I answered shyly.
"You don't have to be ashamed of letting your emotions out, Sioku. That's a part of being human," assured Nagisa.
I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that they weren't going to judge me.
"Thanks, Nagisa," I whispered back.
We heard the dismissal bell ringing in the distance.
"Good bye, Nagisa, Korosensei," I'll see you guys at school in a couple of days. Thank you for watching my training battle," I said.
"Nagisa and I enjoyed watching your practice battle, Sioku. We look forward to seeing you at school again," replied Korosensei.
"Have a good night, Sioku," added Nagisa.
"You two have a good evening as well," I said with a delighted smile.
I gave both of my friends a quick hug before gleefully skipping away.
Many people ran crazily up and down the walkways as I made my way to the train station.
Luckily, the train hadn't shown up yet by the time I arrived at the station.
I sat on the bench lost in deep thought.
The wind blew through my hair as I relaxed.
My thought process was soon interrupted when a train pulled up to the platform.
I stood up and waited for the train to stop.
As soon as the doors opened, I boarded the train and sat down in a middle seat.
The train immediately took off once the doors closed.
I stared out the window and thought about my recent conversation with Julie back in that unoccupied room during lunch.
A half hour later, the train pulled up to the platform in Aspertia City and came to a stop.
I stood up and quickly exited the train.
Trooper's loud bark could be heard from inside my house as I walked closer to the front porch.
I opened the door and ran inside.
Trooper rushed toward me while wagging his tail.
The sound of his heavy panting made me laugh.
"Hi, Trooper," I greeted while pulling him into a hug.
The dog licked my face in return.
"Let's go outside, Trooper," I said as I released him.
Trooper shook off in response.
I joyfully raced Trooper through the dining room.
Trooper's tail tapped against a few objects as he ran by them.
"Go out, Trooper," I urged as I slid the glass door open.
The dog immediately took off outside.
A cool breeze blew in as I closed the back door.
I then hurried into the living room where my mom was patiently waiting.
"Good afternoon, Mother," I greeted while sitting down on the opposite couch.
"Same to you, Sioku, how was your day at school?" Kara replied.
"I actually had a great day today. mis Julie and I finally had a decent conversation at lunch. Also, my Oshawott and Mareep evolved into Dewott and Flaafy during a training battle," I explained.
"I am glad to hear that your Pokémon are making progress," Kara said.
"Thanks, Mother, but there is something that bothered me during my conversation with mis Julie. She doesn't like my teacher and thinks that I'll never learn anything valuable in his class," I replied with a slightly disappointed expression.
"I know, Sioku, Julie has told me all about it while she was going to pick her daughter up from school. To be quite honest, I don't agree with the way your teacher runs his class either. He is clearly teaching you and your fello classmates how to become assassins. I would never ever want you to become a cold-blooded killer in the future," Kara added in a serious tone.
The heat of anger rose in my cheeks as I stood up.
"Mother, you know perfectly well that I don't want to kill anyone. I want to become a great Pokemon trainer and eventually a healer in the medical field. Korosensei wouldn't influence my decision like that. He's encouraging us to find our own path in life," I argued.
A brief period of silence passed between us.
"Based on what i've been hearing and the actions that Julie has been observing, we might move you into different classes or possibly a new school. Julie and I haven't made a decision yet," Kara said calmly.
My eyes grew wide with a mix of shock and horror.
A million fearful thoughts raced through my mind at once.
"Mother, are you serious? Why would you do that to me?" I shouted sadly.
"I only want what's best for your education. That class may not be right for you, Sioku," Kara answered.
Tears lined the corners of my eyes as I thought about Nagisa and Korosensei.
"Don't say that, Korosensei is a great teacher. All teachers have their own lesson plans," I protested.
"We'll talk more about this later," Kara said as she stood up.
"I need to go to the Pokémon center," I replied quietly.
Without further hesitation, I hurried out the front door and across the street.
I then walked into the Pokémon center and approached the front desk.
"Good afternoon, Sioku," greeted Nurse Joy.
"Hello, Nurse Joy," I responded with a small smile.
"How may I help you?" the nurse asked.
"My Dewott, Lilipup, and Flaafy need to be restored," I answered while placing their Pokéballs into the tray.
Nurse Joy picked up the tray and said, "I would be happy to do that for you."
"Thank you very much," I replied before walking away.
I sat down on one of the chairs in the lobby.
My mind was clouded by fearful thoughts, and I couldn't push them away.
I stared down at the floor and sighed heavily.
The fact that I might have to separate from Nagisa and Korosensei tugged at my heart.
"Sioku!" called Nurse Joy.
I rose from my seat and hurried over to the desk.
"Your Pokémon are healthy and ready to go," she said while setting the tray down.
"Thanks again," I replied as I retrieved my Pokeballs.
"Feel free to come back any time," Nurse Joy added.
I exited the Pokémon center and walked leisurely back home.
My mom opened the door as I strloled onto the front porch.
"Welcome back, Sioku, that was quick. Please come in and help me make dinner," Kara said warmly.
"Yes, ma'am," I replied as I entered.
I followed Mom into the kitchen, then started gathering ingredients such as chicken and canned veggies for our meal.
I also reached into a lower cabinet and pulled out a tall round pot with a matching lid.
Kara filled the pot with water and placed it on the stove.
She then turned the stove on in order to boil the water.
While the water was boiling, Kara seasoned and cooked the chicken in a separate pan.
I opened the veggie cans and threw the lids away.
Once the chicken had been fully cooked, Kara opened up a pack of dry noodles and poured them into the pot of boiling water.
The noodles boiled for ten minutes.
After stirring the noodles, Kara dumped them into a strainer in the sink.
She then poured both the noodles and chicken into that same pot.
I emptied all four veggie cans into the pot as well.
Lastly, Kara poured three cans of soup into the pot before letting it cook at a low temperature.
I placed the lid over the pot and stepped back.
Kara would stir the soup every few minutes to prevent it from burning.
"Our food looks really good, Mother. We make a great cooking team," I commented with a proud smile.
"That's true, I appreciate all of your help. You should go feed your Pokémon before dinner is ready," Kara replied.
I picked up the smaller bowl, then filled it with Pokémon food.
Then I sent my Pokémon out of their Pokéballs.
All four Pokémon excitedly ran to the bowl and dug into their food.
Kara let Trooper and her Pokémon inside, then fed them as well.
I then placed napkins and silverware down at two spots on the table.
"Dinner should be ready now, Sioku," Kara said as she walked toward the stove.
"I'm coming," I replied while following her.
I grabbed two glass bowls out of an upper cabinet and carefully set them down on the counter.
Kara scooped some hot soup into the bowls before she handed one of them to me.
"Thank you, Mother," I said.
"You're welcome," Kara replied.
I slowly carried my bowl to the dining room table before situating myself on one of the chairs.
My mom joined me at the table a few minutes later.
Our meal was mostly silent.
"Sioku, I would like you to start going to Virbank City early tomorrow morning. You should be able to make it home by late afternoon," Kara said.
"Okay, Mother, my Pokémon and I will be ready by then. I promise to do my best at the gym tomorrow," I replied sincerely.
After dinner, I helped Mom clean up the kitchen.
I unloaded and loaded the dish washer while Kara put the leftover soup away and wiped down the counters.
Then I led all of my Pokémon up to my bedroom.
After closing the door behind me, I changed into my pajamas.
My Pokémon followed me as I climbed into bed.
Complete silence filled my room as I lay still.
I drifted off into the darkness after a few minutes.
