Asia, Koneko, and Issei were out buying groceries. The tenants living in their house have increased more than twice the number and more are to come. Rias was busy studying with Irina since the exams were right around the corner so they couldn't come. Gya-kun was holed up as usual. It would take some more time before they get him out of his room and even more time to get him out of the house.

In another world, another timeline, Koneko would have carried all of the bags using her Rook strength and leave Issei in embarrassment at carrying only a pair of bags. Not in this one though. Issei was an eldritch abomination that had the genes of the strongest beings that walked the earth and could carry a whole country; he didn't need help carrying 120 pounds of groceries.

The trio bought the groceries and returned home. Koneko and Issei returned to their studies while Asia went back to reading the book she was reading before they left. End of chapter.

NOT!

Those were actually slime clones that Issei made. The actual trio was now on a private island owned by the Gremory and were preparing to go fishing. Koneko was dressed in cute swimwear with lots of flower patterns and was rolling around in the sand in excitement. Issei was dressed in a pair of cargo shorts and a vest. Asia had sparkles in her eyes. She adjusted the vest she was wearing and patted down her wader pants.

"Shall we go?" Issei asked. Koneko and Asia nodded excitedly. "Let's go!" he called out and marched to a small dock with several boats and rafts with two fishing poles and two buckets in hand. He got onto a bamboo raft and extended his hand towards Asia who took it in her own soft hands. Issei pulled Asia onto the raft, balancing her as she got onto it. Koneko leapt onto the raft and grabbed a paddle, hugging it with a wide grin.

Issei raised an eyebrow but just rubbed her head.

"Nyaaa~" Koneko mewled.

Issei sat and started rowing. Koneko rowed along with him. Asia sat in the middle and enjoyed how the raft swayed and the cool winds in her hair. She fixed her bucket hat, making sure it didn't fly despite the string around her chin.

"This is so fun!" Asia squealed in joy. A splash of water hit her face. The cold surprised her at first. She laughed afterwards. Her laughter brought smiles to Issei and Koneko's faces.

Soon they stopped rowing and the raft gently rocked against the small waves. Asia glanced down into the clear water and saw fish of all sizes and colors. She saw the beautiful corals and the clean sand at the bottom of the sea. Asia's breath was taken away by the beauty of the scenery at the bottom. She had always thought that the Lord's creation was beautiful, she didn't know it would be this breathtaking.

Asia heard a splash and was shaken from her revere. Koneko was swimming in the water and Issei was giving her instructions. The younger girl nodded and took the javelin that they prepared. Koneko swam away from the raft and dove underwater.

Issei turned to Asia and smiled. "So, shall we start fishing?"

"Yes!" Asia closed her mouth with her hands when she said it louder than she wanted. "Sorry."

Issei laughed. "Don't worry. Come, sit with me here," Issei patted the raft. "You can take off your boots if you want."

Asia nodded and moved around the boat, not getting dizzy despite the swaying of raft as she moved. She put her boots away in the compartment in the center of the raft before moving to sit beside Issei. She "eeped" when her toes touched the cold water. "That's cold!" she exclaimed with a smile.

Issei smiled at the girl's antics. Issei handed her a fishing rod and showed her how to fish. "I already did the preparations so you don't have to," Issei said as Asia took the rod with both hands and carefully handled it. "Just so we are clear, I am going to go through the basics. Is that good with you?"

Asia nodded in excitement, afraid that she might raise her voice too high due to that same excitement.

"You see this. This is the hook. We put bait here so the fish will get attracted to the bait and bite the hook, which will stick into their mouths," Issei pointed to the hook where a worm was wiggling on. "This is the bobber, when you see this get pulled that means a fish has taken the bait," Issei pointed to a red ball on the string. "This is the reel, you turn it to pull the fish up and out of the water. Got it?"

Asia nodded.

"Copy what I do, okay?" Issei threw his hook and bobber into the sea and Asia followed. "And now, we wait."

"Okay."

The two waited under the slowly setting sun for a fish to take their bait.

"Koneko is not fond of waiting for fish so she just swims to get a catch," Issei said. "Rias is also not fond of waiting for the fish," Issei rubbed his chin. "Irina could fish like this, but not for long. How about you? Would you like fishing with a rod?"

"Mmm, I don't know. Waiting is fun!" Asia said.

"It is!" Issei agreed.

The two drifted off into a comfortable silence.

"Ano, Issei-san," Asia said in Japanese. Issei quirked his eyebrow up. "Thank you for taking me in. I don't know what would have happened to me if you didn't take me in."

Probably taken in by a crazy Fallen angel who would later kill you.

"What was that Issei-san?"

"I didn't say anything yet."

Both had a question mark above their heads before they laughed. "You're welcome, Asia-chan. You are a good girl after all, I don't understand why those priests would kick you out just because you healed a Devil."

"It is unfortunate," Asia said sadly. "I'm not angry with them though, I am sure they have their reasons," she gave Issei a bitter smile. "I think it is also God's will that that tragedy happened. After all, I got to meet you." her smile became cheerful and genuine.

Issei stayed quiet with a pensive look on his face for some time. "I am also glad to have met you, Asia-chan," Issei said. "Ah! Your Japanese is quite good now. Irina has been teaching you well."

Asia laughed. "Issei-san, it is 'Irina has' not 'Irina is.' "

"It is." Issei laughed along with her.

"AH! I got a bite." Asia yelped when her stick got tugged at.

"Oh oh oh oh!" Issei made monkey noises. "Reel it in! Reel it in!" he laughed and cheered as Asia turned the reel. A few more turns of the reel and the fish was in the air. "It's pretty big!" tentacles sprouted from Issei's arm. They formed a net-like structure and caught the fish. They swiftly unhooked the fish. "Open up your arms!"

"Ah? Ah?!" the large fish was disposed of in Asia's arms. It flopped around in her arms, drenching Asia in seawater.

"Hold it properly," Issei said.

Asia bit her lip and tried to get the fish under control.

"Congratulations! It's your first catch," Issei patted Asia's head. "Shall we let it go or eat it?"

Asia debated with herself for a second. Should she set it free? Or kill it? "I-I want to kill it, Issei-san."

Issei quirked an eyebrow but nodded. Such a bold decision from a timid girl.

"I want to do it myself also if that's okay."

"Are you sure?"

Asia nodded. "Yes."

A knife made of bone and wood came out of Issei's arm. He broke it off and handed it to Asia. "Pierce it through the head to make it as painless as possible," he said and took the fish from her hands.

Asia gripped the hilt of the knife. She nearly pitied the fish she was about to kill. "May you rest in peace." Asia whispered before she stabbed it through. The fish would ascend to fish heaven and join its brothers and sisters.
