Back at the hotel, all the hotel's patrons were gathered around by the fireplace for the day's activities.
"Well, Cherri, we didn't get to really talk last, but I'm here to welcome you back and help get you started on your redemption plan!" Charlie said enthusiastically.
Cherri smiled a bit, still unsure about what being in the hotel meant even though she had defended it from Exterminators months' before, "Right, thanks."
"If everything goes well, you'll get to leave Hell and go to Heaven just like Sir Pentious," Charlie said excitedly.
"And how does this work exactly?" asked Cherri.
"Well, we have programs specifically focused on reflection and changing your behavior," Charlie explained. "Angel can give some examples."
Cherri looked at Angel who slightly cringed and shrugged, "Well, we sit on the floor and play weird games, we do trust exercises, and we act out scenarios that Charlie writes. She's also helped me let go of drugs. That sucked but it's not so bad now I've gotten through all the withdrawal symptoms. I also talk about life with Husk. That's most of what we've done so far. It's nice."
"Really?" Vaggie asked. "We save your life, and that's all you have to say about your experience at the Hotel?"
"I risked my life saving it with you. Didn't I?" Angel asked, trying to find his words. "I mean, you're a still of a bunch of weird broads, but you're good people. I've made many new friends. Especially Charlie and Husk. They've been very supportive when it comes to Valentino. And all the other stuff here is great."
Cherri smiled and said, "If you trust them, I'll go through with it. I mean, I already defended the hotel with you guys, so why not? So, what do we do first?"
"Well, if the girls don't have anything planned, I would love to do something to chill from all this mess," Angel suggested.
"I brought one of my consoles," Cherri said. "I know you ain't one for videogames, 1940's man, but I'd love to play just to chill. What the hell? You guys can come too."
"I play with Vaggie sometimes," admitted Charlie.
"Oh, so you two are gamers?" Cherri asked excitedly.
"Not exactly," Vaggie answered. "But we're not bad. What games did you bring?"
"Sadly, most of my games are either in the suitcases back in the tower or at my old apartment, but I managed to snag my favorites," Cherri said, listing them off on her fingers. "I got Super Mario Bros, the Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, and Sonic. I got my Nintendo and Sega Consoles. Those are still popular in the 21st century, right?"
"A bit, I think," Vaggie replied. "They were popular in Heaven at least. We have Mario Kart. Is that okay?"
"Ooh," Cherri said excitedly. "I have played that too. It came out after I died, but I still love it. Wanna play?!"
"Heh, yeah sure," Angel said. "If it's anything like one of those phone games, I'll take a crack at it. How about you, Husk? Feeling up for a break?"
Husk smiled and hopped over the side of the bar.
"Why not?" Husk asked with a shrug. "It's been a wild 24 hours. I wouldn't mind sitting and chatting over drinks."
"Alrighty, looks like this place might be fun after all, Angie," Cherri said.
"Well, so long as you don't think it's lame, it could work," Angel smiled warmly.
"I'm back!" cried a familiar voice. "Oh, dear…"
Everyone turned around to see Sir Pentious holding a suitcase.
"What are you doing back?" Husk asked.
"Yeah, especially after that shit you pulled with me and Cherri earlier," said Angel.
Sir Pentious awkwardly chuckled and said, "Look, I know I've been backsliding the last few weeks ever since Frank and my other Egg Bois entered heaven. But after the battle yesterday, I realized that I like who I am here better than who I am out there. I'm sorry about attacking you, Miss Cherri and Angel. Can you forgive me?"
"Of course, Sir Pentious," Charlie said happily. "I'm so glad you apologized. What do you say, Angel and Cherri? Forgiveness is an important step to redemption."
Angel and Cherri looked at each other and then back to Sir Pentious.
"I'll forgive you if Cherri does," said Angel. "I can forgive you for screwing me over, but I won't let you hurt my friends."
"Understood," said Sir Pentious. "So, Miss Bomb? Can I have another chance?"
Cherri Bomb looked around for a moment and then smiled, "Alright, old man. I'll give you another chance. Under one condition, you gotta play videogames with me. I want to kick your ass at something."
Sir Pentious blushed and smiled back, "Okay, what is a videogame?"
"Oh, this should be fun," Cherri said. "On to the videogames!"
All throughout the day and into the evening, Cherri and the other patrons enjoyed gaming with each other.
By the time bedtime came around, Cherri felt safe enough in her new home to sleep by herself.
Unfortunately for her, however, back at the tower, the Vees were working on their own plans.
