The thing about Skye
She's the kind of person who wears the world on their shoulders
Daniel Sousa has witnessed some weird things in his life. Super Soldiers, frozen lakes in 100 degree weather, zero matter black holes, and Jack Thompson complimenting Peggy Carter are a few. He didn't think it could get any stranger.
And then he 'died' and stepped onto a spaceship from the future.
Okay.
His reality rewrites itself.
It's fine.
And then Daisy Johnson blasts an alien across a street without a weapon or even touching him.
The future is strange and confusing and different than anything Daniel has ever known. Except for the people. Despite her powers, Daniel recognizes a lot of things in Daisy. She's uncompromising, and headstrong, and breaks all the rules. But she's also unerringly, undeniably, good.
She's the kind of person who will take on the world and not even glance sideways to see if someone will offer a hand of help. She will do it despite all the odds stacked against her, and somehow win. She's the kind of person that holds the world on her shoulders without ever having been asked to.
He can see it as he cradles her head in his lap and she bleeds through her bandages- as she offers a trembling hand to him, half-unconscious, that had a large sliver of glass embedded deep into her palm.
Everything is different and alien, but he knows people. Knows Daisy. And he can't walk away from someone like that- not again.
Because they are the kind of person that will keep going until they get themselves killed.
He will do everything in his power to prevent that.
A/N: Short Daniel shot.
