"So, I think we need to tell our parents." I blurted out as Stiles drove us to school. I had been wrestling with how to bring this up all night, not really sleeping as much as I should. Though Stiles splaying out like a starfish didn't help either. He must have slapped me in the face a dozen times. It's been a while since I experienced that on one of our sleep overs.

It was something that needed to be done but I couldn't figure out how to tell him. this probably wasn't the best way to do it. judging by the sharp swerve of the jeep and the sound of tires squealing as he straightened back out. Wide eyed, Stiles looked at me.

"I'm sorry. I could have sworn you just said we should tell our parents."

"I did." I affirmed, nodding my head, and refusing to look at him straight on, even with the many glances he threw my way. I felt one of us should be paying attention to the road.

"And why the hell should we do that? That seems like a very, very bad idea."

"Its actually a really good idea. I honestly wish we had done it sooner in the previous timeline."

"Uh huh. Care to elaborate on that?"

"Before, they both found out in horrible ways. My mom found out when I had to shift to protect her from the Kanima and your dad found out when he was kidnapped and held hostage to be sacrificed." I explained. he groaned.

"Dude, come on. can't you just give me all the crazy, terrifying news all at once, instead of dropping these bombs randomly?"

"Sorry, I actually meant to bring it up last night, but we got distracted with Peter showing up and then talking about Theo. But… Stiles, listen. They are going to find out eventually. This town isn't that big for one and some of the events happened at both the hospital and the sheriff station. And there are benefits to them knowing."

"Okay, and those are?"

"For one, how many unsolved cases in Beacon Hills do you think are supernatural related? And also, how many mysterious injuries have passed through Beacon Memorial that just healed up on their own or couldn't be explained at all?"

He grimaced but said nothing.

"It would be best if we told them early instead of waiting for something to happen that we have to lie about, don't you think?"

"Yeah, but I just feel this puts them in danger if they know."

"Actually, it would be protecting them if we tell them. Think about it. Your dad's job is risky enough, even just day to day normal things. But what if he comes across something he can't just shoot or arrest? Normal bullets may slow us down but not for long. Him and my mom knowing would make them more cautious when they come across something they don't understand." I told him as we pulled into the lot. It was still early so we had time. We sat in the jeep continuing our talk.

"Damn it." he sighed. "I hate it when you're right, but you are. And knowing what I know now, it would make me feel better if my dad was more careful when doing his job."

"Besides, him knowing means all those cold cases he has in storage, we may be able to solve some of them for him. That would go a long way when reelections come up."

"Wait, Scott. Why did you just say that? Does something happen to jeopardize my dad's job?"

"Yes. A few things actually. One of which is our fault. We were only trying to help but… it did cause some problems. Another time was so bad that the FBI got involved… and so did my dad." I admitted.

"Your… your dad. Why did your dad get involved?"

"Freaking Darach and the human sacrifices." I groaned.

"Well, shit. Okay, yeah I can see why you think it's a good idea now. So, when do you want to do this?"

"Tonight."

"Tonight. Why so soon?"

"The sooner the better. First because of everything that will soon be going on with the hunters and Peter, and second because I think we are going to need your dad's help if we are going to get Isaac out of that house, and my mom as well. The first time around when Isaac was able to get out he ended up living with me as my foster brother."

"Wait, I thought you said he was turned the first time. How did he end up with you if you weren't the one to turn him?"

"Yeah, he was turned by someone else, Derek to be exact. That's a whole complicated story. But things didn't work out with him being with Derek and he came to me. Mom took him in. he lived with us up until Allison died, then he and Argent went off together."

"Allison, why would that affect him? I get Argent, but why him?"

"I think… they were falling for each other, at least he was falling for her. Her death hit him hard because she died saving his life. He couldn't handle being here anymore, especially with all the chaos. I think he just wanted a clean start somewhere else."

"Okay… wow. How did you handle that? I mean you were still in love with her then, weren't you?"

"Yeah I was. But mostly I just wanted her happy. So, it hurt yeah but I wasn't going to interfere with it."

"Can I ask… how exactly she died?" he asked gently, not wanting to hurt me with a sensitive topic and it was, to this day. I may no longer feel those things for her but having her die in my arms was still one of the worse things I ever experienced.

"From what I was told she was able to kill one of the Oni, a soldier designed to kill the Nogitsune, and another one snuck up behind her and stabbed her with a sword… She died in my arms. One of her last words were that she loved me." I sighed, scrubbing a hand through my hair.

"Shit man. I'm sorry. That must have been horrible. And then for it to be my-."

"Not your fault Stiles. At that point I had already separated you from it. But even if I hadn't it still wasn't your fault. Not at all. But yeah it was horrible. It's something I never really got over. I blamed myself more than anything for not being there, for not being able to protect her."

"Not that I think it was your fault, but where were you when it happened?"

"You and I had run ahead into the Eichen tunnels to look for Lydia. When we found her she told us something was about to happen. I ran back and left you with her, but I was too late to save Allison. by the time I got to her I couldn't even take her pain, because there was none. She was already dying."

"I'm sorry Scott. But it wasn't your fault. You didn't know and you didn't know it would be her. You can't be everywhere all the time. You could only do so much."

"Yeah that's what you and everyone said before as well. But I will probably always feel some guilt over that."

He nodded, as we sat watching kids roam around before classes started.

"So, what's the actual plan for Isaac? Is there one or…"

"Or. I want to let your dad in on the situation and see if we can all come up with a way to do it that wouldn't be illegal or dangerous."

"You mean for Isaac."

"Yeah. But I want to do it soon, like today or tomorrow. I don't like leaving him in that situation at all. And honestly remembering what he went through I would love nothing more than to barge in there and teach his father a lesson. But that would cause too many problems. So, we need a safe way to do this legally so that it doesn't come back on us or on Isaac."

"Okay, how do you want to do this?"

"I want to say my house, but I am wondering if I should bring Deaton in on it. I mean I can show them and explain it, but he knows more about the Ad Initium then I do. He would be able to explain that at least."

"True. But I think throwing all this and that at them would be a lot at once, wouldn't it? I mean can't we just tell them and then get them in touch with Deaton afterwards. They might need time to process the fact that you are from the future. You're kind of like the terminator right now."

I snorted as the warning bell rang and we both got out.

"Yeah, not the terminator at least not from the first movie, maybe Kyle Reese. And you are probably right. We'll just have it be us and them for this first meeting."

"Good, now let's get to class and pretend to be normal for a few hours." Stiles said, clapping me on the back as we followed, like sheep, everyone into the school. I laughed, agreeing.

First and second period past quickly and Harris was surprised when I passed up my homework and he glanced at it seeing most of the answers correct. I just smiled at him when he gave me a questioning look. Stiles coughed to cover up a laugh next to me. Third period started with me, and Lydia being called up to the board to solve a couple of problems. This happened sooner then it did before, so I wasn't expecting her to really have anything to say. I was wrong.

"So, you remember Allison?" she asked quietly. I threw her a wary glance and subtly nodded. "She's been asking about you."

"Me? For what?" I asked, dreading what I knew she was going to say. I was really hoping to avoid that whole thing.

"Because she's interested, duh."

"I-."

"Are you coming to the party on Friday?" she switched topics.

"Uh, I'm not sure. I wasn't actually invited." I told her.

"Well consider yourself invited now." She said, finishing, dropping the chalk and giving me a smile before bouncing back to her seat. I sighed, finishing my own problem before taking my seat. I have a feeling Lydia is playing matchmaker.

"Hey man, what's up?" Stiles said, after 4th period, as we made our way to the cafeteria. I had been lost in thought since 3rd period trying to figure out how I wanted to handle this new, minor, issue.

"Well, we got an invite to the party this Friday."

"We did? That's great. So why do you look so down?" he said excitedly before really looking at me.

"Because I'm pretty sure Lydia only invited me because Allison is showing interest in me." I sighed.

"Ah, well. Yeah I can see why that would worry you. Have you even talked to her, besides when Lydia introduced you two?"

"Nope, not at all. I mean I did lend her a pen the first day of classes but that's it. I wasn't even there at the clinic when the dog was brought in, if it even happened."

"So how is she still showing interest? And more importantly, what are you going to do about it?"

"I have no clue, on either things. But you are definitely coming just in case I need you to run interference."

"A chance to actually talk to Lydia Martin? Oh, I am definitely there. Don't worry buddy, I got your back." he said bouncing beside me. I shook my head at him before I caught sight of Isaac, slowly making his way to the cafeteria. There was something about the way he was holding himself that had me thinking he didn't spend his night comfortably in bed.

"Hey Isaac." I called, loudly, startling not only him but Stiles as well. He jerked to a stop, flinching, and looking up from his feet with wide eyes. I winced; I didn't mean to scare him. I jogged over to him with Stiles right behind me. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. was just wondering…" I searched my brain for the rest of that statement. I hadn't really had a plan when I got his attention, it was just an instinct.

"Yeah…" he said when I didn't continue.

"Sorry. I was watching you at practice the other day and saw you're pretty good with your back shots. Mine are okay but could use some work. Think you might be able to help me out?" I asked, shrugging sheepishly.

"I don't know. I kind of hurt my wrist last night… at work I mean." He said tugging on the sleeves of his shirt, covering the bruise I could see before he did.

"That sucks man. You work at the cemetery right?" I asked.

"Yeah, how did you know?" he asked, his eyes narrowing.

"uh… I have to pass by there when I go to the hospital. My mom's a nurse and sometimes I bring her dinner. I thought I had seen you in the digger."

"Oh, yeah it was probably me. I wish I could help man but I'm going to be taking it easy myself for a while."

"That's cool. Maybe when your wrist is heeled up we can get together. I would love to improve on that. Are you getting lunch? I don't usually see you in here. You can sit with us if you want." I said gesturing to me and Stiles. "This is Stiles by the way."

"I know." he said, giving an awkward head nod. "And that's okay. I usually eat by myself."

"Nah, come on. we can talk lacrosse and how much of a tool Jackson is." I told him, grinning. He chuckled, shuffling on his feet.

"If you're sure…"

"Yeah, join us. You can help me eat some of his fries. He always gets too many." Stiles added in. I rolled my eyes when Isaac laughed. He nodded and joined us in line. The three of us joked around about practice and coach while getting food. Isaac just getting an apple and a juice, but I could hear his stomach growl angrily and didn't think that was enough. I pushed my fries to the middle of the table so we all could grab as we ate other things.

We talked about classes, one of which all three of us shared but I hadn't been aware. Apparently he gets in early and sits in the back corner which is shadowed. He's so inconspicuous that even the teachers don't really notice him there. I'm sure its from years of trying to make himself invisible so he doesn't induce his fathers wrath.

A tray plunking down on my right had me turning my head to see Lydia taking a seat next to me. I blinked not knowing what was going on. I remember this happening but again it was later, not now. Allison took a seat across from me, next to Isaac, smiling shyly. Then came everyone else. Jackson sitting next to Lydia, Danny sitting next to Stiles and the rest of the team filling in the other spots. Stiles looked around in shock and Isaac looked antsy at having so many people around him.

"I need to grab a book from the library. I'll see you guys later." Isaac muttered, standing tray in hand. He was gone before I could object. I sighed. Stiles gave me a pat on the back. I tried to shake it off. We would help him soon enough. In the meantime, I was going to try to build a friendship with him. Despite everything he was a good friend to me.

"Freaking loser." Jackson mutter under his breath. Growling I clenched my fist. Stiles jabbed me in the side and shook his head at me. I took a deep breath to calm down.

"Scott, you remember Allison, right?" Lydia said. Allison ducked her head, blushing. Danny pulled Stiles attention back to him, discussing their training session later.

"Yeah, I do. How are you? How do you like Beacon Hills so far?" I asked, politely.

"Uh, its different."

"Where are you originally from?" I asked, even though I knew the answer, I had to fake ignorance.

"We came from New York, me and my parents."

"Just you three, no one else?" I asked, she gave me a confused look. "I mean you don't have any siblings or anything?"

"No, its just us. Sometimes my aunt will come to visit, she should be here in a few weeks. But no siblings, no."

"Oh, that's cool. About your aunt not that you don't have siblings." I said, stumbling over my words. I should not feel this awkward talking to her. she smiled, and I could see Lydia roll her eyes out of my peripheral.

"I was trying to convince Allison to come to the party this Friday. She's on the fence." Lydia said, hinting that I could help convince her.

"Oh, do you already have plans?" I asked, knowing her original excuse was-.

"Uh, its actually supposed to be family night that night…" and there it was.

"that's nice. You should go though, even if just for a little while. I hear its usually a blast. Stiles and I have plans but we plan to stop by there for a while." I told her.

"We? I di-." Lydia started.

"Yes, we. Thanks for the invite. We are looking forward to it." I told her.

"Can't wait." Stiles said, smiling brightly. Lydia gave him a tight smile and nodded.

"Try not to break down on the way there, I don't think both of you will fit on McCall's bike." Jackson snorted and I was done. Elitest asshole. I wiped my hands and threw the napkin on my tray.

"Yeah, well we all don't have trust funds or rich parents that will buy us Porsches on command. Some of us actually have to work for the things we want." I said standing and grabbing my tray. I ignored Jackson's narrowed eye glare and clenched jaw along with the look of shock on Lydia and the others faces. Turning to Allison I offered her a smile. "I hope you do go. it'll be fun and a great way to meet new people."

She nodded, glancing back and forth between me and Jackson. I picked up my bag and walked away before I said something I shouldn't have.

"Hey, what the hell was that about?" Stiles asked, following me out. "You already know he's a douche, why let him get to you?"

"He lives across the street from Isaac." I told him, dumping my tray and fast walking out of the cafeteria.

"What? He does? You think he knows about what is happening to him?"

"I know he knows. He even admitted it to the police when questioned about Isaac, after his father died."

"Whoa. And he said nothing?"

"His exact words were that it wasn't his problem."

"Douche doesn't even cover it."

"Nope but forget that. Did you text your dad to meet at my house tonight?"

"Yeah, he'll be there."

"Good, I already text my mom letting her know that we need to talk tonight."

"Where are we heading now?"

"Library. I want to start building a friendship with Isaac. Make things a bit easier later."

Stiles nodded, following me. Time to start building that bond between me and my other brother.

**next up, talk with parents. we are getting closer to saving Isaac, Lydia's talk and Derek's return. **
