Chapter 17 – Waiting All Day

Edward's POV

"YOU GUYS (Smack) THOUGHT (Smack) IT WAS (Smack) OKAY (Smack) TO CHEAT (Smack) YOUR WAY (Smack) TO (Smack) THE CHAMPIONSHIP?!" Coach Jones yelled angrily as he was smacking every player in the head. "BECAUSE I SURE AS HELL DOESN'T (Smack) FUCKING (Smack) THINK (Smack) SO (Smack) FROM PUSSIES (Smack) LIKE (Smack) YOU!"

My friends and I were laughing our asses off as we all gathered around at our usual table in the cafeteria during lunch where we are watching a viral video on Jessica's phone where someone must have snuck into the locker room and recorded the aftermath of the game last week after the Steilacoom High football team was caught cheating during the game. To say that their coach was pissed at them would be an understatement.

"DO YOU ALL HAVE ANY FUCKING IDEA WHAT THIS MADE US LOOK?!" Coach Jones said after he hit the last person, Jeff (who received two or three more extra) and faced his team looking beyond furious. "NOT ONLY ARE WE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE CHAMPIONSHIP, BUT WE'RE PROBABLY GOING TO BE THE MOST HATED SCHOOL IN HISTORY FOR CHEATING!"

"Coach, we're sorry." One of the players said.

"YOU'RE ONLY SORRY YOU GOT CAUGHT!" Coach Jones snapped at him. "I MEAN LOOK AT WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THIS SCHOOL, TO YOU GUYS, TO ME! OUR WHOLE FUTURE IS NOW IN JEOPARDY BECAUSE YOU ALL THOUGHT YOU COULD CHEAT YOUR WAY INTO THAT GAME! NOT TO MENTION OUR REPUTATION FOR WHAT THIS SCHOOL IS ABOUT TO HAVE! I WAS WONDERING HOW WE'RE GETTING SO GOOD SUDDENLY TONIGHT BUT I SHOULD'VE KNOWN BETTER. NO ONE CAN IMPROVE LIKE THAT WHEN WE WERE PLAYING LIKE DOGSHIT BEFORE! WERE YOU ALL LIKE THIS IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS?!" He looked at his team in accusation.

"No, j… just the Forks High team." Jeff said as he hung his head down in shame.

"SO YOU THOUGHT THAT WHEN WE WERE GOING AGAINST ONE OF THE BEST TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE AND YOU KNEW THAT WE WEREN'T GOING TO WIN, YOU BROUGHT IT UPON YOURSELVES TO CHEAT?! DID THE NEWS ABOUT AMERICA'S PRINCESS PERFORMING AT THE WIAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP HALFTIME SHOW TOOK ALL THE BRAIN CELLS YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOU THINK ABOUT SEEING HER MORE THAN YOU CARE OF THE INTEGRITY OF FOOTBALL OR EVEN THIS SCHOOL?!" Coach Jones yelled.

"N-No! Of course not!" Jeff said, sounding all defensive.

"THEN WHY DID YOU ALL CHEAT?!" Coach Jones challenged and Jeff and the entire team was silent. "THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT! YOU ALL PROVED THAT YOU'RE A SHITTY TEAM AND YET YOU WOULD ALL HAD THE TIME AND SKILL TO STEAL FROM FORKS HIGH AND SPY ON THEM USING ILLEGAL TACTICS! I MEAN THE VIPERS WERE BLOWN OUT BY THE TITANS LAST WEEK AND THEY DIDN'T CHEAT, THEY JUST TAUNTED AT THEM LIKE THEIR BIG SHIT FOR THINKING THEY CAN BEAT THE TITANS AGAIN AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM! COMPLETE BLOWOUT! BUT DON'T WORRY, WE ALWAYS HAVE NEXT SEASON FOR YOU ALL TO COME UP WITH A STUPID IDEA THAT WILL BRING SHAME ON THIS SCHOOL! HERE, I WILL HELP YOU!" Coach Jones then went over to the bag filled with footballs and what he did really tops this video.

Many of us gave the "Oh damn!" and "Ooh" in a an "Ouch" tone while we laughed to see Coach Jones pelting footballs at the players, mostly at Jeff.

"COME ON!" He yelled as he pelting them at Jeff. "YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CATCH THEM! TRY AND THROW ONE BACK! COME ON!" He continues on as Jeff was begging the coach to stop, thus ending the video.

"Okay, I don't know what's funnier, the fact that Jeff was the one getting all the pelting, or their coach yelling at them like they were recruited in a rejected military army." Ben laughs.

"The coach's yelling did make a good rap song." Jessica said. "It's only second to being most viral." She then showed another video where we saw the same video of the Bisons and their coach where it was remade into a music video by someone.

"I'm gonna laugh if that makes the Hot 100." Alec laughs off.

"Dude, this is the best thing that has happened to us since we made the Vipers eat their own words thinking they can beat us again. News flash, don't let that shit get to your heads." Demetri laughs. Seth then gets up.

"Hey, here comes the Titans! Let's give them shit for how we beat them, especially on Cullen. I heard he has a hot girlfriend. This shall be fun." He said imitating a Viper player. I then got up and pretended to come at Seth like I got a football and playfully push passed Seth like I tackled him so hard as he faked a fall like how the Vipers did causing us all to laugh.

"Next time, make sure you're doing your damn jobs." I teased at Seth as I was reenacting the part where I got the new ref at that game for trying to bullshit us as we all laughed at that, just as Seth, Demetri, Ben, and Alec pretended to walk away from the field the same way the Vipers did when we beat their asses after the game.

"I do feel kind of sorry for Jeff though. He's taking all the heat for what he and the team did." Angela said after we settled down from laughing.

"True, but that's what he gets for cheating." Jane said with a shrug. "Him, the team, and that guy who was spying on you guys."

"I heard that guy got suspended from school and his mom banned him from using his phone and computer ever again until he graduates along with being grounded." Seth said.

"I actually heard he was banned from having and using all sorts of electronics for life from school and pretty much anywhere he goes." Alec said causing us to laugh.

"That would be a life you don't want to live in." Heidi chuckled.

Jessica shuddered. "Oh please don't even make me think about it." She said.

"I can't believe your plan actually pulled came through." Ben said to me.

"I'll be honest, I was worried how much longer we could hold on when we were on the field until my sister managed the task." I said. Although, my mom did get pissed at me for using Renesmee, possibly endangering her and I was forced to do mountains of chores over the weekend as punishment. "But I can't believe how you girls were able to get that guy to confess what Jeff and the others did after you found him." I said as I turned to the girls in amazement, curious at how they did it.

"He wasn't really that hard to find once you find a student in a place he shouldn't be." Jessica said as she puts her phone away. "And that involves being under the stands where he could also get a good view of women wearing skirts underneath."

"Plus, that wuss should've known better than to deny anything when he was caught red-handed." Jane said as I can tell, she must have scared the shit out of that guy with her intimidation. Hell, I would be forced to spill my biggest secrets if she did that to me.

"And even though he was sweating his balls to not reveal anything to us, even with Jane here, I pretty much made him the luckiest guy ever when a girl finally got to touch him in his special place." Heidi said with a smirk as she flips her hair causing the guys and I to gulp simultaneously at what she meant and leaned back away from her. Beautiful and scary makes Heidi extremely dangerous. Never cross with her.

"Remind me not to get you all pissed and everything." Demetri said as he readjusted himself in his seat.

"What, don't tell me you didn't like it if I did that to you." Heidi purred at him causing Demetri to immediately to change his reaction at the thought.

"Okay, if you two are going to eat faces again, take it out in the hall or outside." Alec said as he looked away causing me to chuckle.

The news about our matchup against the Bisons and their cheating scandal really was one to talk in Forks more than the actual championship itself. Steilacoom High is in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons due to the scandal of the football team. Because of how they were cheating off the field during the game where they spied on our sideline and have possession of our playbook to read our every move, the entire varsity team that was part of the roster has been giving a suspension from school. What's more, because of how they played dishonestly, they will not play for their team again which means a whole new rebuilding for next year coming from the JV and C-Team squad plus new students, along with the fact those who were involved, their future in football was out of the question. They will never play college football meaning they will never get into the NFL or play football of any kind as they have been blacklisted from college scouts to never recruit them to their team due to questioning to the players' integrity about football. They can't even be allowed to coach or even be involved in any football program, not even as a sports analyst.

The team has also been giving a huge fine for the scandal along with their prom being canceled for next year as punishment for the team's actions. As for their head coach, though he was not involved in the scandal since he had no idea of what the team did, he was suspended one year of coaching, and it wasn't because of the video where he was seen pelting the footballs at the players so harshly. That there, the district allowed as a bonus punishment to the team even though they wouldn't approve of it.

Anyway, something tells me that when I'm gone and for the next few years, Forks High will be enjoying taunting at the Bisons team during their games for cheating and never have been a good team. I even heard some of the students planning to make a banner that says, "Cheaters Exit Here!" with a big arrow pointing at where the Bisons must go when they lose. I laugh at the idea. Maybe when I get back from college, I will attend their game to see that. But hey, that's what the Bisons get for cheating. When the announcement of Bella that she will be performing at halftime at the championship got around, it really motivated the teams from all schools to get there as the halftime show is exclusive for the schools that will be participating and family and close guests only, but I guess that means to the Bisons, you do whatever it takes just to see her. I'm glad I'm not them. And even if I were on their team, I know better than to cheat my way to win.

"Moving that aside, now that Forks High won, we're not only going back to the championship, but we get to see Bella perform live again!" Jessica said excitedly as we all joined in on the excitement.

"Seeing Bella twice before the end of the year even ends? Talk about an awesome Senior year and school is not even halfway over!" Jane squealed.

"Okay Jane, lay off the screaming before you lose your voice again." I said playfully. That's when I saw her and the other girls smirk at each other. And before I could react due to how I can read from them, they started squealing right in my face. "God dammit!" I cried as I wiggle my finger in my ear while they laugh at me. Girls can be a pain in the ass, but not my Bella.

My Bella is sweet and amazing, along with being beautiful as she is talented. I can't wait to see her again. Of course we see each other. Not that everyone else knows that. They don't know about our relationship. Not yet, but soon, they will when we announce it. I don't know how everyone will take it. Honestly, I don't care, but I hope they accept our relationship like Bella's friends have.

I pretty much get along with Emmett as he likes me a lot. Sure he can be a bit of a jokester, but he's a good guy and means well as a friend. And that's someone who will always have your back no matter who you are. Alice… I have no words to describe about how she can be annoying at times with her fashion statement, party planning's etc., all because of her so call "feelings." Does she even see the future? Please tell me they are just coincidences. But aside from that, she is a very spirited girl and very loyal when it comes to her friends. Rosalie is alright. I mean, she's a nice girl and insanely pretty as Heidi, but her personality… kind of… I'm just not okay with it. That's all. I get the feeling that even though she accepts me as Bella's boyfriend, she doesn't approve of me. She is genuinely nice and friendly to me, but doesn't seem to want to be close to me if you get what I'm saying. Victoria is all kinds of a mystery. She goes back and forth on her sexuality between hitting on guys and girls. She would playfully flirt with me, then goes to another guy she sees or another girl and then back to me. She means well in a way she would say to consider her a close friend. Jasper and I hit it off well as he's not only a good guy, but he's got some sort of vibe when you're around him, like… anything you're about to feel, his presence handles it the right way. I'm pretty much close to Jacob as he and I talk a lot about other things besides sports. He also proves to be a good friend you can count on as he continues to give me some tips about fame.

Even Charlie accepts me. He shows to like me a lot more than I like him when I was a fan of Charlie. I mean, sure Charlie doesn't seem to be the type of guy who doesn't seem to hover, but I guess according to Bella, he seems to be more open to people he has met. He and my father get along so well like they've known each other for so long. Mom seems to be under control with her crush around Charlie. Regardless, it's nice to see Charlie warming up to me so easily without judging or even putting me down because of where I came from. Unlike his wife, however.

Renee continues to be the biggest hater of me as she continues to discourage my relationship with her daughter, as well as continuing to treat Bella's life as it this is her life too being controlling as her manager to think she believes she knows what Bella wants. How is Bella related to Renee? I don't know. What does Charlie see in her? I have no fucking clue. Maybe he saw something deep down in Renee that makes him love her, but I don't want to question him. They are Bella's parents and I must show support to her that I care about her and her family. Even if Renee is a Class A bitch.

Well, I just hope everyone doesn't act like how Renee is to us about our relationship. And I certainly hope she doesn't spread some nasty rumor about me.

"You girls do know that I need my hearing when I have to make calls on the field in order to communicate, right?" I said once I made sure my hearing was functioning properly.

"Oh please, you can hear over the deafening crowd when playing football and at Bella's concert. I'm sure you can handle a few screaming girls who are your best friends." Heidi smirked.

"Correction, I'm his best friend!" Demetri stated as he flung his arm over my shoulder causing me to chuckle. "I'm the one who risked his ass to save this guy at the petting zoo when we were kids, I'm the one who became his wingman to help him asked out and take the hit from those dumb British blonde twins in middle school and I'm the guy who took the blame last year in getting detention so that our quarterback can still play. That's the best friend's job!" He said as I rolled my eyes.

"Again, we're still on the debate on the topic of best friend of Edward since it implies who he's known longer." Alec said as he placed his hand on my shoulder to show he means it.

"You really wanna go there, Volturi?" Demetri challenged him as he shot up from his seat.

"Bring it, Tracker!" Alec said as he did the same.

"Alright, chill out guys." I said casually as I got in between them like it was no big deal.

"Do you guys ever shut up over there?!" An voice of annoyance asked and we all turned to see Mike standing in front of us. "No one wants to hear you guys talking."

"No one wants to hear you talk. At all." Jessica said causing some of us to snigger.

"And besides, this is a cafeteria. This is a place where we can eat, do a little studying, chill, and, oh yeah, talk, which means we can make as much noise as we want." Ben clarified to Mike.

"Yeah, this is no mans' land. There's no rules in no mans' land." Alec stated.

"Whatever." Mike grumbled.

"Oh, what's wrong, Mikey?" I teased him as I spoke to him like he was five years old. The same way he spoke to me at coach's office thinking he was going to be the starter on our final game a few weeks ago. "Are you upset that you didn't get to play in the playoffs, or are you actually upset that you had no luck finding out about who my girlfriend is?" I said earning some more snickers.

"Shut it, Cullen." Mike grumbled again. Since that day when news got out about me and "Isabella," Mike has made it his mission to find out who Isabella is and everything he does came in zero results. Actually, there were results, but not in a good way for him.

"Yeah, I heard that you spent the last few weeks finding information about Isabella instead of going over the playbook." Alec said causing us to laugh.

"No wonder coach wouldn't let him play." Demetri laughed.

"Shut it."

"I heard last week you followed someone who you thought was Edward's girlfriend, only you were following a girl who had cancer and had to have her head shaved off which is why she was wearing a wig. And her boyfriend beat your ass after you yanked her wig off calling her off on the accusation you claim before you realized you fucked up." Jessica said as we burst out laughter when we heard about it.

"Shut. It." Mike said as he was getting steamed like a red lobster.

"Didn't I hear that you claimed to have found Isabella after finding her name and tracked her down to her house, only that it was a eight year old girl named Isabella whose house you broke into and my sister threw your ass in jail until your parents bailed you out." Seth said as we laugh even more.

"Just shit it." Mike said, gritting his teeth.

"I also heard that you got a tipoff of where Isabella lives and you ended up near the cabin of Mr. Hoopin's property. I can't believe you were chased off by his little friend." Heidi smirked causing more laughter how we heard Mike was running from a chihuahua.

"I said shut it!" Mike snapped as we soon settled down from laughing at Mike's humiliation of his failed attempts to know who my girlfriend is.

"Honestly Mike, why do you even care so much about finding out who Edward's girlfriend really is? Everybody goes into relationship." Angela said.

"Yeah, but everyone should know about it and we all just found out since Senior night! He's been with her for like, a long time!" Mike defended.

"And? We only found out about it before you guys and Edward here kept it from us." Jane said as she gave me a bit of a glare for that. Man, they are never going to let that one go, will they?

"And besides, we don't need to go gossiping about Edward's love life to the whole city." Heidi said.

"But no one has heard about her!" Mike said like he's trying to make a point here.

"Why does that even matter? You know now. So what's the big deal?" Seth asked.

"The big deal is that people should know everything in this city. People, places, everything! We should know right away, not weeks later." Mike said.

"Well everyone's talking about Edward and his girlfriend now. What's the difference if people find out now or later?" Ben asked.

"Yeah man, just because we live in the smallest city of the state, doesn't mean we have to hear things just because there's no privacy or nothing to talk about." Alec said. It seems we all made our case, Mike didn't seem to want to let it go like he was trying to prove something exist even though it's a myth.

"I want to know all about her." Mike demanded.

"Since when do you care to know about someone?" Jessica asked in curiosity. "You usually go up to someone new before the whole getting to know them type phase."

"I just want to know what is it about her that makes Cullen thinks it's okay to keep their relationship a secret until now." Mike answered.

"My reason about my relationship with Isabella isn't really your concern, because it doesn't involve you. It's personal, meaning you should butt out of people's business. So you should drop your bullshit thinking I'm hiding something and do what you usually do and that's being my backup." I said with a stern face.

"You won't be playing for long at the championship. Once Bella gets to see how great I am there, not only will I get into the NFL, but Bella will so want to go out with me and we'll be famous!" Mike declared.

"The day that actually happens is the day I see Ms. Conway wears booty shorts and a tank top with boots trying to fulfil her sexual desires." I said turning to my friends saying that, talking about the dean of students who is very strict with a face you don't want to cross.

"Oh god, thanks a lot man! Now I got that image in my head." Demetri complained as he covered his eyes and then his mouth looking like he's about to vomit. I just shrugged as I turned back to Mike.

"Oh please, Ms. Conway is an uptight bitch!" Mike declared, causing me to raise an eyebrow. "Who would want to bang that old woman? No one wants to marry her, and she's like sixty years old!" He just stood there as I bit my lip to avoid curling a smile while my friends were stifling their laughter from behind me.

Mike was confused until I can literally see the back of Mike's hair stood up causing him to turn around as I can tell his eyes widen as he was face to face with a woman who is a few inches shorter than him with black hair with a little grey showing wearing all black of her attire.

"Uptight bitch am I?!" She growled angrily.

"M-M-Mrs. Conway!" Mike stuttered. "I-I… um… you look good today." He said nervously.

"You may continue your flattery as you walk with me to the principal's office!" Ms. Conway said as she grabbed Mike by the ear and pulled him down causing him to yelp. "And for the record, I'm forty-nine!" She added as she dragged Mike out of the cafeteria where everyone was watching. As soon as those two were gone, my friends and I burst into laughing.

"Some things never change here." Alec laughed.

"Okay, no offense, Edward, but that there is the best thing that has ever happened to me over you getting us into the championship!" Demetri exclaimed as I shoved his head down playfully. That causes him to come behind me so quickly and put me in a playful chokehold that soon got the other boys involved as the girls were now taking videos and pictures of us.

Alec was right; some things never change. I may be friends with the cast of Rainbow Garden, I may be close with my favorite actor, the greatest of all time, I may be dating America's Princess, but my life is still the same. I have my friends still. I'm still me. Nothing changes that.

School went by with the talk of the school was not only about our team going to the championship and see Bella at halftime, but of Mike and his stupid mouth that landed him in trouble with Ms. Conway. After we had practice, which was going over what happened last week and reviewing who we're facing, I headed home where after dinner, I was doing some homework when she called.

"Hey love," I smiled as I put her on FaceTime.

"Hello to you," Bella smiled. That's when I hear a bark and Fluff's face appeared going up close to the screen. "Fluff, heal! You don't interrupt mommy when she's on the phone like that." She said causing me to chuckle. "Sorry, guess she got all excited to hear your voice."

"Well, she's a puppy, so I can understand that." I said as I told her about my day at school and the things that happened. Apparently when I told her about what happened to the Bisons, she told me how she heard about it from Jacob. It seems like he's been keeping tabs on me for football. I wonder if Jacob thought about being a sports analyst in NFL. He seems to be expert at it. Or he could at least land a movie about football.

"So how is everything for you back in LA?" I asked.

"Well, we finally found our guy to play John." Bella smiled. "I'm not sure you know him, his name is Chase Norman."

"The guy who played the side kick in Danger Zone?" I asked, intriguingly. Danger Zone was a show that aired five years ago and ended last year in five seasons. It was about a boy named Kenny Hart who was offered the job to be the city's superhero as a sidekick as they fight crime while Kenny lives his life as a normal boy. That show was a hit due to the action and the comedy skits involved. Chase was a spectacular actor playing Kenny as a young teenager. He was the more… the down to earth version of Rider.

"Yeah," Bella said excitedly. "It was down between him and Kyle Penny so I did a test screening with Chase to try out and he didn't fail one bit playing John and I believed he is prefect for the role."

"Well as long as he knows not to flirt with you during film, it should fine." I chuckled.

"Edward, is that jealously I'm detecting?" Bella teased causing me to give out a laugh.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." I said.

"Well to ease your mind, Chase has not once made a move towards me or tried to hit on me. Plus the fact that he's interested in his former costar." Bella smiled.

"Well, he's no Rider so that's all I need to know." I said causing us both to laugh. "So, are you excited for the championship?"

"I should be asking you that, since you're going to be playing and lead your team to victory." Bella said. "No exceptions, you answer first."

I chuckled. "I'm just excited to be playing in the big game again, hoping that we get revenge for the loss last year."

"I have no doubt you'll do great, and win." Bella smiled big.

"Means a lot coming from you. I just know that this year will be different than the last three championship appearances I've been through." I said.

"How so?" Bella asked, tilting her head in curiosity.

I leaned a bit closer to my phone. "Because you'll be there, cheering me on." I said with a smile causing her to blush.

"Edward, no one apart from our family and friends know that you're my boyfriend." She said.

"Regardless, I know you'll be cheering for me at the game as I will win this championship." I said.

"You sound pretty confident." Bella said.

"Well I'm not being cocky, that's for sure." I said. "This year will be different because I have faith in my team and my coaches. I want this year to be something to remember, for us. I want to win this championship, dedicating to you." I said. "Now, how are you feeling, performing at halftime?"

"Well, I'll tell you briefly that I will be performing with Martin Garrix on his song Light Up The Night." Bella explained about Martin's latest single that features her. "And all I can say is that I your sister and her cheer squad are lucky they get to join me on stage." She hinted. That's when it hit me.

"Please don't tell me that you'll be wearing a cheerleader's uniform." I said, closing my eyes, ready for the impact.

"Too bad I won't be on the sidelines to cheer you on." Bella teased as she giggles. Dear god, this woman will be the death of me! I get to see Bella in a cheerleader's outfit?! The championship couldn't get here any sooner, and I'm not just talking about seeing my girlfriend again.

"Okay, moving aside of me hoping to see you as a cheerleader," I said opening my eyes to see Bella. "How are you feeling about being at halftime?"

"I'm really am excited about it." Bella smiled. "To be performing at a special event is a huge honor. I have to remember to thank Charlie for hooking me up with this occasion."

"Are the others going to come as well?" I asked.

"Most definitely." Bella answered. "Emmett and Jacob are seriously pumped to see you play again. Them and Charlie. I'll never understand football though." She chuckled as she shook her head.

"It is the best sport of America." I said with a shrug.

"Is this how people act in the NFL, getting all excited to see someone play?" Bella asked.

"That depends on how good every team is playing every year." I said. After all, there's always the good teams of the season and then there's the worst team of the season, hence why they get the first pick overall in the NFL draft. I can only hope that I end up with a good team. Not that I think I'm above any of the worst teams, but I don't want my future wasted on a team who will not help me like the Detroit Lions or the New York Jets.

"Well, none of the less, they're all going to be there… including Renee." Bella sighed.

"Your mother is actually coming to my game?" I asked with a cringed look on my face. It's like having Renee sing me Happy Birthday and then I'll throw up.

"If it makes you feel better, she's only coming to manage the event as my manager. That's her job." Bella explained. "What's more, she wasn't exactly thrilled about me performing for you and your school."

"How come?" I asked in surprised. Everyone who goes to the schools that are participating in the championship, including families of the students and teachers, are invited to come and everyone is talking about it. How is Renee not happy about that for Bella?

Bella sighed again before she spoke. "Apparently performing for some high school event doesn't seem attractive for "stars like me."" She explained as she rolled her eyes. "If I were to be performing, it would be at like my tour or at halftime for the super bowl."

"Oh." Was all I could say. Although, if I were to make it into the NFL, I would have to do all I can to win every year until I get them to see Bella perform at halftime in the future. "I'm sure that will happen." I encouraged her.

Bella shook her head. "Oh no, she tried to make the call weeks ago, for this year, but the NFL had already picked their performer and that's Coldplay which she disagrees with them thinking they're not at all that good with poorly written songs. Her words, not mine." She said.

"Unfuckingbelievable." I said, shaking my head. Renee clearly has no taste in music. I listened to their music and they are really good.

"Exactly, and besides, according to them, I only just started as a pop singer. I would have to be in the music industry for at least five years or so before they could consider me a candidate. At least that's what Jacob and Charlie told me." Bella went on.

"I'm sorry you have to deal with that, Bella." I said.

Bella shook her head again. "It doesn't matter," She said, calmly. "The deals been done, I wanted to do this, Renee is just gonna have to accept that."

"I'm surprised at how you're handling this." I said in amazement.

"Well, if there's one thing I've learned in the business is that I shouldn't do things for what they want or what makes them happy, it's what I wantthat makes me happy, and what I'm happy about right now, is seeing you and getting to perform for your school." Bella smiled. "And the other school whoever you're facing."

I am just blown away with Bella. After the whole Rider scandal caused by him, Bella has stepped up for what she believes in. And having Renee as her manager, Bella seems to finally act selfish for once and think of herself before others, something she wants for her happiness. Not to please others, because she's who own person. Nothing could make me love her any less.

"I love you, so much." I said, breathlessly.

"I love you too." Bella smiled.

Bella and I continued talking throughout the rest of the night, my homework left aside, but it didn't matter much to me since my love was all I needed to make my day.

Music was playing, as the crowd was clapping to the rhythm. It's not everyday you hear the stadium get pumped for this moment. Why you do you think everyone in the school district gets involved as they hear the warmup song as everyone is getting settled.

(A/N: End song.)

I could hear the music blasted loudly over the stadium as I was warming up on the field in just sweats and a hoodie as we don't need to dress up yet until half an hour before the big game. The crowd was roaring with excitement filled with students from both schools along with teachers and staff, and family and friends, all ready with excitement to see us play. Did I forget to mention that this championship will be broadcast live? Even if Bella wasn't performing at halftime, sports nation such as ESPN would show the game for the world to see. It's been like that since my freshmen year and ever since then, the media can't help but watch me play seeing as if they are looking at the new face of the NFL. God, I hope I could make that happen, but I guess it all depends on this game, and on how well I do in college.

I received many offers from colleges to play football for them. I'm still going over to see which school is best for me, not because I want to be with a winning team and win championships, but something that has a good program for my education. That thing is still part of my life that is important. That and Bella. I've narrowed down to the five schools to choose from; Stanford, University of Oregon, Louisiana State University, Alabama and of course, University of Washington. I will be making my final decision next week at school.

Speaking of schools, our opponent we'll be facing is none other than the North Central High School Knights. They are one of the toughest schools in the district with the best athletic program and they have been our main rival for as long as both schools has existed, especially on football. We lost to them earlier this year during the season. They have won eleven championships compared to our school only winning three, having more championships than the other schools. All of those were led by their head coach Drew Kittle. He's the toughest coach out there, but not what you call strict and brutal, he's all serious when it comes to football. He's also a brilliant coach as he is well responsible for making many of the players into NFL players today as well as knowing what to do on the field as his team plays. A true mastermind.

As for the team themselves, their current roster is what you called elite compared to us. The special teams are the least of our worries. They got good returners in wide receivers Julian Brown (junior) for kick return, and Alvin Green (sophomore) punt returner who both got at least three returning all the way for touchdowns. Then you got the punter JK Dickson (junior) who is a master of kicks when it involves giving the ball back. Most of his kicks, he would add a spin on the ball that would be tricky for the returner, a chance to fumble when the ball drops. There are also times when he would fake a punt and throw the ball to convert a first down. As for the kicker Dustin Tucker (senior), he's one of the most accurate kickers in the district. Averagely missing only two to three field goals every year and not once missed an extra point. Not to mention he's got one of the best legs as he kicks the ball up to sixty-five yards or more.

Then there's the defense of the Knights, and they could possibly be the reason why the team is so tough, but it didn't matter because they are almost impossible when you try to get pass them. You got the front seven where the first four of the defensive line. Nick Cress (freshman) may be young, but he's strong and also fast for his size. If you're not careful as a quarterback, there's a chance he may come out of nowhere and strip the ball off your hands. Miles Jones (sophomore) and Deejay Watt (junior) are the muscles they need to distract the offensive line so that others can give a sack, or those two can go at it with a chance of a force fumble. And Chandler Donald (senior) is a force to be reckon with. He's a sack master with a body that big and his muscle are no joke. One punch will send you flying straight to the hospital. I got way too many sacks from him, I almost broke my leg once. Chandler also enjoys stopping Ben on the run game. Any running back that tries to get pass Chandler, and he'll stop you right on the spot where you feel like you ran into a brick wall. Many running backs have had near season ending injuries because of him. Ben appears to be the only running back in the league brave enough to try and get passed Chandler. The linebackers can go either way. Forest Mack (senior), Layton Vandenberg (freshman) and Ron Miller (sophomore) will be ready to come at the front, the middle, or the back. I mean, that is the job of a linebacker. If you thought that was scary, try dealing with the secondary. They got the best safeties in Andre Diggs (junior) the free safety, and Tyrann Adams (senior) strong safety. They'll be ready to read the play and give coverage in the back to stop any wide receivers from making big plays. When they have the chance, they can deliver big hits, especially from Tyrann, and Alec can endure it the most when he goes against him. Then there's the cornerbacks in Aiden Diggs (freshman) and Jalen Howard (senior). Aiden may be a freshman, but he proves to be a talented corner to guard against the receivers, however it's Jalen you have to watch out for the most. He may be a trash talker and put you down when you can't get any catches or make big plays, but he backs it up with his actions. Him and Demetri always got at each other whenever they're on the field together, a small chance they would get into an altercation. Hopefully that doesn't come to it, but then again, that's what Jalen wants, hoping player he faces gets an ejection and I can't afford to lose Demetri that way.

As for the offense, I guess you could say you could be seeing the future all-star of an NFL team. They got the best offensive line that's nearly impenetrable. They got a solid run game, though not as good as ours if I'm being honest, led by their running back Marshon Henry (senior) who is big for a running back, but fast as he can break a lot of tackles. The Knights has three talented wide receivers but the main one they can count on is Logan Cupp (senior) who is fast and can catch nearly every ball thrown to him. Not once he has dropped a ball when targeted. Their tight end is Rob Kelce (senior) who is strong and reliable not just for blocking but making big plays. Pretty much the main guy you have to watch out for when he gets the ball. It takes two players to take him down. Seth seems to be the only one that can hold off Rob by himself which he enjoys the challenges. But the main source of the team's success is none other than their quarterback, senior, Riley Biers.

Riley, who wears number 19, has been the Knights' starting quarterback since his freshmen year just like me and just like me, he's got serious talent. He's thrown more touchdown than punts every year as he hardly gets intercepted, only once or twice. That's because Riley can make big plays when dealing under pressure with help from his offensive line. But what makes Riley special for North Central is his clutch making performance. When you're trailing behind in the game with little time left, Riley is there for you. In fact, he doesn't have to try to get his team all the way to the end zone to do it. He can throw from their own twenty-five yard line and with a little luck, the receiver will catch it in the end zone for a hail marry, and Riley is a master at it, something I struggle to do. It's what Riley being given the nickname, Prince, as a reference since the team are the Knights and they need a leader, which is Riley.

I've known him since we were in football camp before high school, and he and I have a rivalry going on. Not what you called that we despise each other and take pleasure to rub salt in the wound that you beat him. No, Riley and I actually get along pretty well, becoming good friends. It's just that we're pretty much competitive when it comes to football and we like to see who's the best quarterback every year. Right now since playing in high school, Riley is ahead of me, four to three. Twice, we each beat each other in the regular season. Once I won against him in the championship earning MVP, my sophomore year, but Riley beat me twice, my freshmen and junior year, winning both MVP honors. But hey, that's what makes Riley a good rival to me, someone who can bring me on my toes and make me want to go all out. And it's going to continue that way when we get to college,(him going to Washing State) and then, the NFL.

Now, here I am with Riley, side by side, as we are being interviewed by Julia, the sports news lady during our warmups.

"Alright guys, this is it. We're only minutes away for the final game of your high school careers and see which team will win the championship." Julia said to us with her microphone in hand while we were facing the cameraman. "Riley, you and your team are the defending champs, how are you feeling? You think you guys will win back-to-back? No pressure to that I hope." She smiled as she pointed the mic at Riley.

Riley playfully scoffed. "Pressure? I don't recall that term being used outside of football." He laughed as he spoke into the mic with Julia and I laughing along with him. "But, I don't try to think about what I'm hoping to achieve other than winning the championship." Riley said seriously with a smile. "My team, the coach and I just have to focus on the game, do what we've been practicing the last few weeks and make it count."

Julia pulled the mic back to herself as she turned to me. "Thank you, Riley, and good luck to you. Now Edward, I know last year didn't turn out the way you wanted and I'm sorry to bring it up that way, but is there anything you want to say how this year is going to be different than before?" She then pointed the mic at me to speak.

"Oh I've been thinking about it all day since." I said with a smile. "The loss is only making me rise up more. There's nothing that motivates you more besides wanting to win, than being brought to defeat. So, I'm ready. We're all ready for this. This is what we've been trained to do. We're ready to show Riley and the others what we got. Just as long as Riley doesn't try to one-up me – " I smiled in amusement as Riley laughs as he playfully shoves me in the shoulder. "He always does that just when I had the chance. But I'm ready! I'm coming for the win and the championship, so bring it on!" I said.

Julia laughs as she pulls the mic back to herself. "Alright Edward, go get it! Show us what you got. Good luck to you, to both of you." She said.

"Thank you." Riley and I both said before Julia ended the interview. As her cameraman put down his camera, Riley and I turned to each other, giving each other high fives before pulling each other close to pat each other on the backs.

"You just can't let it go, can you?" Riley teases when we let go.

"Hey, you started it." I laughed.

"Well it's not my fault that I'm good at this." Riley chuckled.

"We'll see about that after the game." I smirked. "Good luck to you, man."

"Same to you." Riley said sincerely and then we gave each other one last handshake before we left our sides of the field.

There, I can see Bella on the field as she was given access to be here and allow the players to meet her, whether to take pictures with or sign autographs or even just chatting. The player who is currently chatting with Bella is none other than my backup quarterback.

Mike was no doubt trying to impress Bella telling her how he's all hot shit, thinking he's a big deal. Though I couldn't hear what he was saying to Bella, if I know Mike, which is quite obvious, he's probably trying to tell her how he's going to lead the team to victory and possibly try to score a date with her. As he was talking, I can see Bella just standing there. That was it. She just stood there with a straight face that doesn't show like she's interested, or annoyed. I'm trying my best to hold a laugh at how good of an actress Bella is for how she's already putting up with Mike.

As Mike continues on to taking to Bella, or either bragging or showing off, Bella saw me and then excused herself without a response to Mike as she came over to me. I got the pleasure to see Mike's disappointed face.

"Having fun talking to the fans?" I teased her.

"It was lovely talking to the players besides Ben, Demetri, Seth and Alec." Bella smiled but then frowns. "Although this Mike guy I was talking to, he's… well… I just…"

"Yeah, I know." I chuckled in understanding causing Bella to do the same.

"Is he always like this?" Bella asked.

"I wish I could say not all the time but when has he not been like a douche?" I said with a shrug as I looked around to be sure no one was trying to eavesdrop on us.

"Well how are you feeling, champ?" Bella asked.

"Oh, so I'm a champ now? Guess that means you know I'll win." I smirked.

"I'm referring to how you're a champion in my books." Bella said.

"Well, I definitely will win this championship." I then whispered so that only she can hear. "I'm winning this for you."

"I have faith in you." Bella whispered. "I wish I could give you a good luck kiss." Believe me Bella, I want it more than anything. But sadly I couldn't. We can't risk it in front everyone here. It's not time for it yet.

"You saying it is all I need." I said. I looked over Bella's shoulder to see my team about to exit the field. "I better go and gear up."

"Good luck." Bella said and I nodded before I took off to join my team where we are heading inside the locker room to change into our uniforms.

The team and I spent the next half hour getting changed into our uniforms (we'll be wearing white with blue as the visiting team as the Knights will be grey and gold since they'll be the home team). After Coach Clapp gave his last minute pep talk about what's at stake here, we all exited the locker room and out into the hallway where we stopped at the end of the tunnel, as we wait for when we can come out onto the field.

There, I can hear the crowd roaring with excitement. The noises are hard to tune out. This stadium has never been this loud before. Was it because people are excited to see Bella perform later at halftime? Is because of the rematch between Forks High and North Central High? Or is it due to the rivalry between Riley and me? Whatever it is, we're going to give them a game they're never forget.

I don't remember feeling this nervous during a game. Why am I so nervous? I was never like this before. Not even the last years playing for this school. My hands are shaking, my breathing was not in rhythm and my fingers were curling and uncurling like a wave.

"You okay, dude?" Demetri asked and I turned to my right to see him looking at me in concern.

"Yeah," I said. "Just… a little nervous, I guess."

"Okay so it's not just me." Ben said on my left as he took a breath of relief. "I thought I was gonna faint any second."

"Hey man, don't sweat it. We got this." Demetri said as he grip my shoulder firmly. "You got this." I nodded my head, appreciating his vote of confidence.

"Yeah, this year is going to be big and we're going to be the ones to win it!" Seth said.

"We got your back. Just do what you do and lead us to victory." Alec said.

"Oh please!" Oh dear god. We all turned to see Mike behind us along with Tyler and Austin. "Cullen is in no shape to play. We saw how he did against the Bisons so I should be starting."

"Dude, are you ever going to stop complaining how coach picked Edward over you?" Ben asked Mike in annoyance. "You're not even that good."

"How did you make the team is a mystery to us all." Alec said.

"And besides, the Bisons cheated by knowing every move we made, so what happened doesn't count." Demetri pointed out.

"But he did led an awesome drive on that last touchdown." Seth added as I smiled to see my friends support.

"I am good!" Mike said causing me to roll my eyes. "And you won't be playing for long, Cullen. I'll be on the field soon so that Bella can see how great I am! And then after I win this championship, Bella will be going out with me!"

"Oh boy." Ben said, rolling his eyes.

"Here we go again." Seth sighed.

"Sure she will." Demetri said sarcastically.

"Like you have a shot with Bella." Alec scoffed.

"Oh I do." Mike smirked. "She and I were totally hitting it off! She so digs me! I mean why else was she looking at me during her concert the whole time?" He then frowned towards me. "She was about to say yes when I asked her out until Cullen here took her away from me."

"That's because she supposed to be talking to everyone, not just you." I said to him in annoyance. "She's not here for you, she's here to perform at halftime for everyone." Mike glared at me and was about to say something until the announcer spoke and told everyone to look at the big screens. Since I was up front, my friends and I got the front row seats to see what it's about.

"The hard charging North Central High Knights have steamrolled their way into today's game." The announcer said. "And now find themselves once again, one victory away, this time, to win back-to-back!"

On the screen, it shows to what appears to be room, or a runway where there some people sitting to watch the show, and coming from the entrance entering the stage, was Emmett.

"Oh hell yeah!" Ben exclaimed as the guys and I excitedly watch. Emmett got the honor to give the introduction of the team playing in the championship. To say Emmett was excited would be an understatement.

"Alright North Central High," He said with a mic in his hand as we can hear the cheers coming from that said school. "It's about that time. We all know this school's history, the accolades, the dynasty. But tonight, it isn't about them, it's about this team! If there's a way to get that W, trust me, they will find it!

Four names who haunt the very soul of opposing quarterbacks and the future high schoolers. The front office of Donald, Jones, Watt, and Cress!"

As Emmett spoke, clips of the Knights highlighted performance of their season were shown and then shows the best moves made by the defensive lineman players and then it shifts to where the mentioned players walking on the runway and posed as the audience on the screen cheered.

"Name a better trio of linebackers than these guys right here. I'm talking guys like Mack, Vandenberg and Miller!"

Another clip was shown of the linebackers and their best moments before it shows those three mentioned walking on the runway and posed.

"Good luck to all quarterbacks throwing the balls to the guys like Tyrann Adams, Andre and Aiden Diggs, but the key is, as Mr. Jalen Howard knows, it's not talking smack, if you don't back it up!"

More clips were shown of the secondary, mostly led by Jalen as the scene shifts back on the runway to where the players are walking. Then another scene shows of the tight end, running back and wide receiver as it shows their best plays throughout the year and then shifting back on the runway where they are now walking on.

"There's speed, there's power, and maybe there's both. Marshon, Tyler and Rob got all that. They can run, they can catch, they can block, they can score! They can kick some ass!"

And then finally, it shows Riley's best moments on the field with his best plays before showing himself on the runway while greeting Emmett.

"And let's not forget about the Prince himself! The QB who has led this team here for four years, winning two championships with them, soon to be three!"

The cheers were getting louder on the screen, and on field as the crowd was roaring for North Central.

"This team, this time, this moment, it's time to run it back! Here comes the defending champions, North Central High!" Emmett finishes with a big smile on his face before the screen went blank.

"Here they are, the North Central High School Knights!" The announcer said. At those words, the stadium was roaring with cheers as I saw the Knights exiting the tunnel, Riley in front as they ran onto the field.

"No team is more passionate, more energetic, than the Forks High School Titans!" The announcer said as he spoke about us. "They storm their way to the WIAA State Championship with a style that is anything but ordinary!"

We saw on the big screen showing the runway again and the people in their seats. Things were the same, but it wasn't Emmett that was the stage introducing the Titans.

"Hey, about them Titans in the city of Washington?" Jacob smirked with a mic in his hand. Emmett's not the only one who got the honor to introduce the team. We watched as they show clips of the best moments of the Titans' season.

"Okay, I get it. Some think they may have lost it and it may be over for them, some may even say it's never going to happen again. But is it really the end, if you aren't… motivated?"

As clips of moment of the team highlight was shown, it shows players best plays they made as the key players walked onto the runway such as Seth along with Sam, Quil, Embry, Paul and Jared being key factors on the defense.

"Let's see, you hit them, they hit you harder. You get in their face, they get right back in yours. Basically, anything you do, they'll do it… better! Don't think this is over for them after just one lost. No, this is only the beginning.

A hit first, ask questions later defense packed with wolves, a running back who breaks free like a train when he runs on the field, a tight end who shows how Volturious he is in the end zone, a receiver who flies high into the sky and fights hard on the ground, and a quarterback who can slay the competition."

The crowd from our school was roaring with cheers louder than North Central's as highlights from the Elite Four were shown before it shows, Ben, Demetri, Alec, and I, the Elite Four walking on the runway while greeting Jacob as we faced the crowd.

"Come on Forks High, time to settle the score! Time to show everyone who is worthy to face the defending champs! Here they come, the team themselves, here comes Forks High!" Jacob finishes with a big smile as the screen went blank.

"And here they are, the Forks High School Titans!" The announcer said.

That was our cue as we ran out of the tunnel and onto the field. As we ran across the field, I can hear the crowd roaring, rocking. I could feel the electricity. It was if my nerves were taken away by them. The thrill of hearing over thousands of people cheering was what I needed. I was more than ready, I was meant for this. I stopped and turned and high fived my teammates who ran passed me before heading to the sidelines. As they did, I observe the crowd. I didn't think I'd ever seen it more packed than ever. Over a hundred thousand people in attendance today, one side decked in grey and gold while the other side are wearing blue and silver. The big screen was showing more clips of the schools' highlights of the season while the scoreboard was displayed and ready. I looked around and sure that I couldn't see my parents in the crowd, I saw Renesmee as she and her squad were with our cheerleaders on the sideline. I looked around where Bella, her parents and friends are and from the looks of it in the top box, they must be there. I wish I could put a hand out and waved to Bella, but I couldn't risk it. Even so, I know she's watching me, cheering me on.

When the last of my teammate ran passed me, I joined everyone on the sidelines. After the National Anthem was played, we all looked at the big screen, for the Championship theme song introduction sung by none other than Heidi. Only this time, she'll be joined by Gianna Love, North Central's own singer. Gianna happened to a good friend of Heidi when they were growing up and despite being different schools, they remain in touch and never lost their friendship.

The music started playing, showing at first a back stage until it shifts to the entrance of Sparks Stadium, and the next thing we know, we see both Heidi and Gianna on the big screen wearing rocking outfits as the whole stadium was roaring with cheers just as they started singing.

"(Hey! Hey!)

Waiting all day for a championship night!

Alright, what a night, it's finally here!
America's game is kicking into high gear!
The stars have arrived (come on),

Get up and cheer!

Hey Jack, it's a fact, the show's back in town!
Slayward and the Prince in a righteous showdown!
The stadium's rockin',

Time to crank up the sound!

The best of the best have come to play,
Coast
to coast, just one thing left to say!

We've been waiting all day for a championship night!
The tough get rough in a primetime fight!
More than a game, it's everyone's right,
That's why we're waiting all day for a championship night!"

As the song was playing, while it shows once again highlights from both teams along special appearances from the coaches, it shows some of the players, including my friends and I, on the screen with Heidi and Gianna as we both danced along to the song. (Mike was complaining why he's not in it). And the way the stadium is making loud noises, every one of us is really rocking to the song as the final highlights shows individual shots of Riley and me looking victorious.

Yeah, yeeeaaahhhh!
Oh-oh-oh, oh!
Waiting all day for a championship night!
Oh-oh-oh, oh!
Waiting all day for a championship night!

(A/N: End song.)

"Downton in Puyallup in this sixty-nine degree night and we're steps away, it's Sparks Stadium where the WIAA State Championship is taking place! Hosted by the eleven time state champion, North Central High School Knights! Two of those titles led by their quarterback, Riley Biers, the two time state champion MVP, as they take on the one and only Edward Cullen and the Forks High School Titans in their fourth consecutive rematch! Chad Robinson with Luke Russell and Rachelle Daniels…"

"You know what we have to do, right guys?" I asked those around me.

"Yeah, win this game!" Demetri said as I nodded my head and saw Colin gave the kickoff (we won the coin toss and elected to defer) sending the ball all the way into the endzone where it bounced off for a touchback. As soon as it did, Riley and his team ran onto the field at their own twenty-five yard line.

We watched after Riley huddled with his team before they got into formation facing our defense. Seth was ready, Jared and Paul were looking menacing, Sam, Quil and Embry were on guard, all players on our side were waiting with anticipation before Riley gave the signal and the ball was snapped into his hands causing movement to break.

"Game on." I said as there was a four man rush but Riley didn't need to move until he threw the ball to one of his receivers who slid on his knees before he caught the ball, barely hitting the ground for about three yards. On the next play he hands the ball to Marshon, but the running back only managed two yards on the run thanks to Jared. Things seem to be off to a good start, however, the thing you should know about Riley, he's very skillful at the audible, meaning he can force other teams to jump before the snap to create a false start, and that's what he did making Paul jump giving our team a yellow flag for neutral zone infraction penalizing us for five yards, thus giving the Knights an automatic first down.

"Dammit!" I hear Coach said while North Central High fans were cheering as both teams move to where the ball was placed on the thirty-five yard line.

"Is it time to panic?" Ben asked me.

"Dude, it's only the beginning of the quarter." Alec pointed out. "Besides, they got lucky because we got the penalty."

"Yeah, there's no way they can get another first down with how the defense looks so far." Demetri said.

I wished he hadn't said that, because on the next play, Riley handed the ball to Marshon again and this time, with help from the offensive linemen who gave him an opening, he rushed passed our defensive front rushing for ten yards until Seth tackled him down. Despite the effort, it was too late as there was cheers being erupted for the Knights.

"Can we panic now?" Ben asked.

"Ben, just calm down, okay." I said patting his back. "Don't let them get to you. We just have to keep our heads clear and do things one step at a time."

I'm hope I'm right because after Riley got his team for a few yards leading them to a third down, another penalty flag was on us because another player on our side didn't leave the field on time (only eleven players from each team should be on the field when the ball is snapped) counting it as illegal substitution giving the Knights another first down. That player in question that caused the penalty was Tyler as he was refusing to leave the field when another player came on the field to take his place for a quick substitution causing delaying and giving advantage for the Knights to use that time.

"If you would've just do as I said, you wouldn't have giving the refs an excuse to give the team a first down!" Coach yelled at Tyler angrily.

"You can't just pulled me off after just three plays!" Tyler complained.

"I can when you keep blowing coverages on those receivers who made easy catches!" Coach snapped. "Now stand down and wait until I call you back on the field!" Tyler grumbled as he stomped away standing next to Mike, who wasn't even paying any attention to him, or give him a sort of comfort as Austin did it instead.

We all watched as the Knights were now at midfield because of Tyler. Riley got the ball and made a quick throw to Logan who caught it for nine yards. The next play, not only Riley threw the ball and the receiver caught it for twelve yards, our team got yet another penalty, this time for hands in the face. Even though the penalty was decline since the Knights made a successful first down, our school were complaining how there was a face mask, yet it was clear that there was, even if it was unintentional.

And then, at our side on the twenty-nine yard line, after Riley threw two incomplete passes thanks to our secondary, it happened, just when one of our players made a jump before the snap and Riley made a move before he threw it.

"Biers is going to the endzone," Chad said as the ball went into the hands of Logan at the endzone before Quil could stop him while a yellow flag was thrown. "HE'S GOT A TOUCHDOWN! Logan Cupp, and the Knights strike first in this game!" He yelled as North Central went wild while fireworks were set off while Forks High were in disappointment. And since we got the flag because our player jumped for an offside, they declined it since the Knights got the score.

"Do I have to say it?" Ben asked.

"We know." Demetri, Alec, and I said as Seth and the defense ran back to our sideline after the Knights kicked for an extra point.

"Sorry captain," Seth said to me as he took off his helmet. "We did what we could, it's just that they're just tougher than we expected."

"Don't worry, you did great." I said to him. "We got this. Come on!" I got us onto the field after the Knights kicked the ball to us where it became a touchback.

The crowd was roaring from our side as the band was playing to get the whole stadium pumped up. After giving out the play to my team, we got in formation as the Knights defense were ready. I looked around until I saw the scoreboard where it already shows Knights winning 7-0 with five minutes already off the clock in the first quarter. This is it, it all starts now!

Taking a deep breath, I held out my hands ready for the snap. "Red 27, ready, set hike!" I yelled and the ball was snapped into my hands where movement was made from both teams. I quickly handed the ball to Ben as he rushed in where he was stopped, but got four yards into the play.

Okay not bad. I thought as I made the next play when the ball was snapped into my hands. I quickly looked to see who to throw the ball to until I saw Nick coming at me when I was open. Thankfully, I made a run for it to avoid the sack but since there was no one open, I threw the ball away to the sideline making it third and six.

"Let's go," I said as we got in formation while putting on my mouth guard. I looked to my left as Ben move to my side. Then I looked to my right where I saw Demetri facing the cornerback, Jalen as those two were glaring at each other with such loathing. Got to play this carefully. "Blue 27, get set… hike-hike!" I got the ball and then threw it Demetri. But because Jalen was on his ass, Demetri didn't have time to react as when Jalen got his arms on him thus causing the ball to bounce off and,

"AND IT'S PICKED INTO THE AIR OF ANDRE DIGGS ON THE RETURN!" Chad yelled over the screams and groans around the stadium as Andre caught it and took off the other direction towards us where we are yards away at the endzone.

"FUCK!" I said as I ran towards Andre where with help from Alec, we tackled Andre out of bounds at the five yard line before he could bring it in for a touchdown to what could've been a pick six for me.

"That was too close." Alec said as he and I got up. I didn't respond because I saw Demetri and Jalen going at each other's face. No doubt Jalen is talking shit at him with some trash talk about that play which was why I rushed in between the two before Demetri could to take a shot at Jalen before the ref came in to separate us. He led Jalen away as I saw the smirk on his face on the success he made.

"That's it! Let me at that son of a bitch!" Demetri said angrily as he was trying to break free from me causing Alec and Ben to help me out to bring him onto the sideline. "You didn't hear what he said about Heidi's singing and what he would do to make her scream sound better!"

"No, we don't, but we don't need you to make things worse than what Edward did. Sorry." Ben said as I shook it off like it was nothing.

"Demetri, forget it," I said. "That's just what Jalen wants. He wants to get a rise out of you so that I would have one less weapon to use. You got to cool it and focus on getting the ball from me."

Demetri was still breathing heavily as he was glaring on the Knights' sideline, but he was able to calm down. Thank god.

"Okay. But one more word out of him and I'll punch his throat out!" He said.

"Just remember, action speaks louder than words." Alec said to him.

"And by that, he means show Jalen why you're the best receiver on our team." I said as Riley got the ball ad threw it to his tight end Rob for twelve yards enough and more for a first and goal. Then after Marshon rushed for five yards on the next play, on second and goal, he rushed again for what looked like a touchdown, only after review, he was down and short at the half yard line meaning the touchdown was overturned thus it became third and goal and since they failed to run it again on the next play, it became fourth and goal and the Knights settle on a field goal and Dustin did that making this a ten to nothing lead for the Knights. Thank god we prevented that after they took advantage from the interception from me.

"Come on coach, let me in!" I turned to see Mike complaining to Coach Clapp as the Knights gave the kickoff and we gave no return again. "You saw what Cullen did, I can do better than him!"

"One play does not mean he's done for! Now shut up Newton and stay put!" Coach said to Mike in annoyance. He then saw me. "Cullen, don't fuck this up!" I nodded and ran onto the field with my team.

"Okay, the first drive didn't go so well," I said to them as we huddled. "Shake it off and let's move onto the next." I gave them the play to do and we broke into formation.

"Here we go at the Titans own twenty-five, let's see if Edward can recover after that pick he threw." Luke commented.

"Blue 27, ready… hike!" I got the ball and faked a handoff to Ben and stopped and looked around where I threw quick passed to Alec where he got us five yards. After finally we got a first down after Ben rushed us for five yards, I took a risk where I threw the ball just when I got tackled to the ground by Miles, but I saw Garrett jumped and caught the ball before he was taken down at midfield. There was a flag but it was the Knights this time for roughing the passer (a.k.a. me). They declined it since we got a first down. Alright, we're on the right track.

Ben helped me up as I shook off the hit I got and huddled with my team for the next play. Once we got in formation, I got the ball and threw it to Demetri, this time he caught it but only for four yards which was okay. We got another first down after throwing a eight yard pass to Alec and it seems like things are going the way we needed it to be.

"Set hike!" I got the ball and immediately threw at Demetri, this time getting more as he got out of Jalen's way and caught the ball giving us the first down and more until he was stopped in Knights' territory at the twenty-five yard line. However, Demetri took a big hit and was shaken up, but not injured as he went to the sidelines to rest. It's okay, I have ways to make this count.

After I threw an incomplete pass on first down, Ben got nine yards before Chandler took him down. Chandler shoved his head down after the play causing an immediate scuffle between both sides as my team were up on Chandler's face for that until the refs threw yellow flags everywhere, on both teams. Both for unsportsmanlike conduct, but since Chandler initiated the call, Titans got an automatic first down. Yes.

"Here we go!" I said as I held out my hands where we are now at the ten yard line, close for a touchdown. "Blue 27, set hike!" Movement broke when the ball was snapped and I threw the ball intended for Alec where we are a yard away to the endzone when,

"This time he floaters it to – OH IT'S PICKED OFF AT THE GOAL LINE!" Chad yelled when Jalen, despite not having Demetri (who is still on the sideline) to guard, he took the chance out of nowhere and caught the ball and took off running the other way as the crowd was cheering for him along with the opposite for those that aren't.

"Oh no!" I said as Jalen ran passed us causing an all out chase as he was already to midfield with no one on his tail. Not even I or Ben with our speed can catch up to Jalen and stop him. Just when it's over seeing Jalen at midfield and they're about to get another touchdown off of us, something went passed me in a blur and I turned my head, shocked at who it was, that's catching up to Jalen.

"There's Jalen Howard – here comes the freshman Garrett McGovern, gaining on him out of nowhere!" Chad yelled as Garrett was shifting into high gear with us still on them as he somehow caught up to Jalen.

"You know wanna catch me!" I hear Jalen taunted, looking pleased with himself. He didn't even noticed what was going on, not even listening to his teammates yelling at him that Garrett is on his ass. "But you can't catch me because –" He turn his head to finish and made a bye-bye wave, only to do a double take seeing who is behind him and was about to try and finish the job, but it was too late as Garrett jumped and had his arms around Jalen to bring him down at the five yard line before he reached the endzone causing our school to erupt in cheers for the heroic action Garrett made.

Jalen got up and looked at Garrett wildly, being stunned. "You caught me?!"

"That was for Demetri, you ass hat!" Garrett said to him causing his teammates to come in to prevent Jalen from coming at Garrett as I congratulated Garrett for that play.

Again, that was too close. I thought. But then again, the Knights have gotten stronger than ever. Thankfully, all of Jalen's efforts for that interception was for nothing as the Knights had a three and out only making a field goal to make it thirteen and nothing with three minutes left of the first quarter. Damn, we need to get some points on the board.

"Let's go! Going for a flat route!" I said to my team and got us in formation with Demetri back onto the field. The ball is snapped and I handed it to Ben who only rushed for three yards. I tried not to let that get in the way since we did came close on the last possession. We have to show everyone that it wasn't a fluke.

On the next play, Ben ran passed the offensive linemen and just as he did, the offensive line broke out with all the defensive players they are holding off when without warning, something hit me hard from behind, bringing me down causing groans around the stadium.

"And brought down from behind is none other than the Knights best defensive tackle, Chandler Donald for a loss of three yards!" Chad announces.

"Eat on that!" Chandler said to me before he got up and celebrated with his teammates while mine helped me up. I was able to shake off the hit, but it didn't matter because on third down, Alec missed the ball that I threw to him so we had to punt the ball to the Knights where the returner brought it to their own thirty yard line.

Coach went to check on me to be sure I wasn't injured, which I wasn't and then we watched as Riley threw for ten yards to get a first down. Then he gave the ball to Marshon to rush for only five yards. But on the next play, Riley surprised everyone when on second down and five when he made a run for it passing defenders to not only get the first down, but more until he went out of bounds at the Titans thirty yard line.

"Great, now I have to find way to one up him." I said.

"Dude, you got this! When it comes to football, no one does it better than you." Demetri said to me.

"Except maybe Riley, which is not what I'm trying to say!" Ben quickly added.

"Well Edward can't outdo Riley if we can't get anywhere on the board." Alec said as he looked at the board with only ten seconds left before the end of the quarter. "They already got two field goals and a touchdown –" Cheers erupted when Riley made a scramble and threw the ball to what looked like he was throwing it away passed the endzone when the tight end Rob actually jumped and caught the ball staying in the endzone. "Make that two." Alec frowns seeing as we are being blown out by the Knights by twenty points after they got the extra point ending the first quarter.

This is going to be tougher than we imagined.

While Riley has been getting his team to successful plays scoring on all drives, I continued to struggle along with the team as I got fifty percent getting completed passes or not. Ben continues to get less than five yards when he runs and both Alec and Demetri along with Garrett and the other receivers got one and third of the catches I throw to the defense while I continued to be pressured with two more sacks and threw another interception. The Knights used that and brought it all the way for Marshon to give a rushing touchdown extending the blowout lead to twenty-seven. Luckily on our possession again, I was able to bring us to the Knights' side and got Colin to go for a field goal thus putting us up on the board finally for three points.

On the Knights' ball of possession, our defense finally stepped up a bit as they gave some pressure for Riley to make some incomplete passes and tackling the player to fall short for a first down giving the Knights to punt for the first time. Once we got the ball, I threw the ball for this drive only one play after another, only resulting in us getting another field goal to make it 27 – 6 Knights. At least we're not getting destroyed completely.

After the Knights failed to get a first down while being close to midfield, they punted it away, giving us the ball.

"Let's go, Quick Attack!" I yelled at the formation from the twenty yard line on our side. "Blue 27, ready… set hike!" I got the ball, faked a handoff and just what I needed, I got an open as I made a run for it with the ball in my hands, towards the first down line with the cornerback on my ass when just as I passed five more than I needed, I felt like something slammed into me like I hit a brick wall from my left sending me into the sidelines. Everything temporarily went black as I lay on the ground when ball was popped out of my hands. I can barely hear the crowd as my vision slowly came into view. There was ringing for a moment as I was slowly helped up.

"Are you okay?" Demetri asked me with worry as I sat up with assistance.

"Yeah… I think so." I panted as I felted a pounding in my head.

"Unnecessary roughness, helmet to helmet, defense number 33!" The ref announces as there were cheers and boos altogether. "The ball will be placed at the spot of the foul. It's an automatic first down. Number 33 is ejected from the game!" More cheers were erupted at the news.

"Argh!" I cried as I held my head while getting up with Demetri's help.

"Coach, he's not looking too good!" Demetri called as Coach Clapp rushed over looking frantic.

"Get him in the tent for evaluation! Now!" He said to the medical staff who were close by.

"No, coach, I'm fine." I said only to wobble in my stance.

"The hell you are! You took a big hit and I'm not risking your life like that. Just go into the tent and just pray you don't have a concussion that will put you out of the game." Coach said to me with concern.

"Just go man," Demetri said to me firmly as he led me away from coach, who called Mike over. Mike looked pleased and excited when he was summoned. "We'll take care of things. Hopefully." I was soon in the hands of the two medical staff as they led me inside the sideline tent.

"Alright Edward, let's see how you're doing." He said.

I wished they fucking hurry up because I hear more cheers than groans outside. This is so frustrating. Goddamn this tent, I can't see how bad Mike is fucking things up out there. Can't be worse than being blown out. Right? After what felt like hours of checking my brain for a concussion, I was cleared and still able to play. Thank god. I thought as I thank them and ran out of the tent in a hurry.

I joined the sidelines where my teammates and coaches were glad to see that I'm okay and good to go as I was with my friends who look like they are catching their breaths.

"What did I missed?" I asked as I looked up at the scoreboard and I was shocked to see that with one minute before the second quarter ends, the Knights were leading 29 to 6. "How the hell did they get two points?!"

"Mike, that's how." Ben said in disbelief.

"Seth and the others were able to stop them at midfield but they punted the ball to us on our one yard line." Alec explains. "Mike had the ball on the snap when one of the defenders came at him for a sack."

"Thankfully, Mike's fat ass avoided the sack because he backed away in time, but then he continues to run back, not seeing he backed up out of the endzone." Demetri said in a pissed off tone.

"FUCK!" I said seeing how Mike is a fucking idiot to give out a safety.

We watched as Mike now has the ball on our twenty yard line. As movement was made, a wide receiver from our team waved to Mike that he was open to give us five yards, but Mike ignored him and threw it deep with no one there making it an easy catch to one of the cornerbacks.

"AND IT'S PICKED OFF AGAIN!" Chad announces as more cheers erupted over the groans and boos. "It's the freshman Aiden Diggs, as he brings it right back… for a pick six!" He said as Aiden got passed our team, where Mike made a sad, (no scratch that, a pathetic attempt of a tackle, which doesn't even look like a tackle at all), as he takes it all the way to the endzone.

"You guys were supposed to catch that!" Mike yelled at the receivers in disbelief as the offense came onto our sideline. "What the fuck were you guys thinking?!"

"You gave us the play! You were the one who decided to do your own thing and try to throw a deep ball without telling us!" One of the receivers said angrily.

"You should be able to run over there and get that ball!" Mike snapped. Before I could step in and shut Mike up for his selfishness, Coach Clapp did it for me.

"NO! YOU HAD A CHANCE WITH STARKS WHEN HE WAS WIDE OPEN!" He yelled at Mike. "YOU WOULD'VE GOTTEN US A FEW YARDS AT LEAST, BUT YOU DECIDED TO ACT LIKE A SHOWOFF AND TRY TO GO FOR A LONG BALL WITHOUT TELLING THE TEAM AFTER YOU MADE A CALL TO STICK TO!" Coach continues yelling at Mike as the first half ended after the Knights got the extra point with cheers coming from North Central's side, while groans and disappointment were coming from our side. Knights leading 36 – 6.

Our team followed what the Knights were doing and headed into the locker room, but unlike them however, our heads were down in disappointment. Shell-shocked maybe.

As the we piled into the locker room, I sat down on the bench. Seth joined me along with Ben while Demetri and Alec stood behind us as every other player on the team sat down slumping, or leaning against the lockers trying not to look discouraged but we're all feeling the same thing; we're exhausted.

As my head was down, I could feel like every eyes were on me. I didn't know what they are all thinking but I feel they are concern for me and worried about if I still got this.

"Told you Cullen can't win this game." I hear Mike mutter to Tyler and Austin. "He's no good, never has been." I didn't argue with him because I wasn't in the mood and instead focused on my cleats just staring at them.

Coach Clapp entered the room and I saw him looking around. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as we prepared for the worst.

"Okay, we've dug ourselves a hole, and the only way out is on each other's shoulders." He said, firmly causing us to be surprised at his reaction about the game. "Right now, we got to focus on the next half. We got thirty minutes left now to comeback. We need to get it together, because if we let the score get in the way of what we've been training for, then all of our hard work have been nothing but a dream. So come on team," He said looking at us all. "Whatever happens in the end, win, or lose, let's at least get out there, and give them some hell, okay? Give it everything we got."

"Yeah," Mike boasted. No one said a thing from his response. "Let's do this! I'm ready to give the Knights some hell! It's Mike's time to shine!" That's when a clipboard was thrown at Mike's head so fast. He ducked out of the way as it hit the wall so loudly.

"Wrong again, Newton!" Coach Clapp said as his anger has returned. "You are actually done for tonight!"

"What?! But I'm the only other quarterback on this team! Cullen was terrible! He's not good anymore!" Mike complained.

"He didn't cause a safety and threw a pick six to give the Knights more points!" Coach Clapp yelled as his face was turning purple. Oh shit. "YOU! ARE! DONE! Your performance on the field throughout this season along with your unethical skills of poor sportsmanship is why I'm kicking you off this team!"

"WHAT?!"

"You heard me! You are off this team! I don't know why we kept you, not to mention why we even let you be on this team in the first place, but it ends now! Take off your gear! No varsity letter for you! And you won't be getting a championship ring if we do win!" Coach Clapp snapped as Mike just stood there in disbelief.

"This is bullshit!" Mike said as he stomped away from the team to his locker. No one bothered to say anything or show emotion from the incident as we watch Mike threw his helmet angrily at the bench causing it to bounce off right into his nose.

"Alright everyone, get out there. The halftime show will begin soon." Coach Clapp announced, ignoring Mike's groan. At the mention of halftime, the team had their spirits lifted a bit as they all exited the locker room in a hurry.

"Dude, are you coming?" Demetri asked me after coach left. I was still on the bench.

"I'll be there." I said.

"Hey, don't worry about it. It's okay." Alec said as he gave my shoulder a firm squeeze.

"Yeah, you're still the best quarterback ever." Seth said cheerfully. I didn't say anything.

"We'll save you a spot then." Ben said and they left me alone in the locker room. Was alone. Mike was here taking off his football gear. He threw his shoulder pads at the lockers in anger, muttering things as he changed into his clothes of jeans and a Forks High hoodie as he stomps out of the locker room.

I sighed as I buried my hands in my face. God, I can't believe we're getting beat. This is worse than the Vipers game when they humiliated us to win. It's not just that, it's how I've been playing tonight. No touchdowns, all the sacks I've been taking, the picks I caused, my stats are doubt looking like shit. And everyone is counting on me to win. Maybe Mike is right, I'm not as good as before. There's no way I can win this championship.

And there's no way I can make it into the NFL.

"Edward?" I looked up and turned around saw a girl with golden-brown hair, but I recognized that voice and face anywhere.

"Bella?" I said in shocked. I looked around to be sure no one was around. "What are you doing here?"

"I had to see you before I perform." Bella said as she came over and sat down on the bench next to me. "But I'm also worried about you after seeing the first half. Are you okay?"

I gave out a shrug. "I've been better. I'm not seriously hurt, but… I played like shit tonight." I sighed.

"Don't say that." Bella said as she took my hands in hers. "You can still win this."

"How?" I asked her like I was being desperate. "We're down by thirty points. They are too strong and more clever than us. There's no way we can win this."

"Don't give up." Bella said. "You can do this. You just need to have faith."

"Have you seen me play?" I asked.

"That doesn't mean you aren't good. You just… had a bad moment, but you can turn it around. You are a good football player. I believe in you. And I know your family and the students at your school believe so too." Bella said.

I thought for a moment, remembering how everyone at school cheered for me, regardless of a win or lose, they supported me in the end. They didn't let a loss at a game, not even at the championship, change how they treat me. My parents always supported me in the end even when the tough gets going and Renesmee has always cheered me on. Maybe Bella is right, even if I don't win this, I know, in my book, I'm the best quarterback in the school.

"You really think so?" I asked.

"I do." Bella smiled. "And I'm not the only one who believes so." She then pulled out her phone and handed it to me. "Play them all." She pointed at the videos she received in a text message and I played the first video that is showing and I see Emmett's face on screen.

"Hey man, I hope this gets to you before Bella performs, but I just wanted to say this. Don't let those motherfuckers get the best out of you! You got this bro! Show them what you got and kick some ass! I'm cheering you on! HELL YEAH!" He boomed.

After the video ended, I played the next video by Rosalie.

"Edward, I know you didn't look too good, but that's okay. You can do this. Just go out there and teach those boys a lesson or two! Show them what you got!" She said with a smile as she let out a cheer.

The video ended and I went on to see more videos of Bella's friends.

"Edward, I know this is hard for you, and I can tell you're having some self-doubt about it, but don't let it get to you. I'm here for you, we all are! I want to see you back on the field with a new attitude showing everyone that you're not gonna let this get in the way to win! Let's go!" Jasper exclaimed.

"Woo! Let's go Edward! Win this, and I may flash out my ass in front of the crowd for you! Woo!" Victoria cheered causing me to laugh.

"Edward, I may not know exactly what's going to happen, but I knowyou're going to be amazing! You are going to stun everyone with what you and your team are about to do. Go get them tiger!" Alice cheered.

"Hey Edward, I know that the first half wasn't how you wanted it to be, but that's okay. That's only the first half. The second half, is where it'll all begin. This is where the Slayward I know will shine. So I'm expecting to see that quarterback that will definitely slay the Knights! You got this!" Jacob exclaimed.

The final video shows Charlie's face.

"Hey," He said and then ran his hand through his hair. "Um… man, I'm not good at these things, but I wanted to say, it's going to be alright son. I believe in you. You got this. I know you do. Just go out there, and win this game. … I think that's it, right?"

The video ended and I was touched by everyone's words of support and having faith in me.

"And here's my way to show my faith in you." Bella then took my face in her hands and our lips met, and I kissed her back. The feeling of her lips against mine has somehow erased all self-doubt I had as something was rising inside me. I feel like something was growing, evolving maybe. I don't know what it is, but one thing's for sure, I'm ready to kick Riley and his team's ass, but first,

I broke apart from the kiss, still holding on to Bella. "First of all, thank you for giving me the confidence I need."

"Anything for you." Bella smiled and then closed her eyes, leaning for a kiss again, only for me to stop her with my fingers on her lips.

"Second of all," I chuckled as she pouted. "As much as I want to continue kissing you, don't you have a show to perform?"

"Oh, right." Bella said in embarrassment. "I guess I should be going."

"I'll be there." I said as we got up.

"I hope so. I want you to see me up close." Bella said with a wink before she left the room. That's when I felt something in my pants. Down boy, now is not the time! I thought. I took a deep breath before I left the locker room and out the tunnel.

I looked around the field until I saw a huge crowd gathering around a huge stage. On it was Martin Garrix behind the sound system as he was checking to make sure all is good before the performance.

I ran towards the stage and made my way through the crowd able to make my way to the front where Demetri, Ben, Alec, and Seth are up close to the stage along with the rest of my team are in one section.

"Hey guys," I said when I met up with them.

"Dude, you're alive!" Demetri exclaimed.

"What makes you think I was dead?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"He means you sound to be in better spirits." Alec said.

I leaned in for them to hear. "Isabella came to see me." I explained. "She pretty much gave some confidence to help win this championship."

"You actually got some?!" Demetri asked in shock causing the others to smack him in the head. "OW!"

"No dumbass, it was all words and she showed me videos of Charlie and the others wishing me good luck." I said.

"Well it's good to have you back, man!" Ben said as he happily slapped my back causing me to wince. "Oh, sorry!" He said.

"Well I hope your girl is ready because it's her turn to shine!" Seth said as we people coming on stage.

There I see the North Central High School and Forks High's cheerleaders along with the junior squad for both schools, my sister amongst them all dressed and ready. They all lined up in position as I saw Renesmee looking excited to perform with Bella. When my sister saw me, she smiled big and waved as I did the same thing. I hope my friends get good pictures of her since I had to leave mine in my locker. A few minutes later, the lights around the stadium dimmed until the lights coming from was the stage. That's when the music started playing the intro of his song Light Up The Night.

(A/N: Play Light The Night Up by Tinashe.)

"Alright North Central High, are you ready?" Martin asked through the microphone causing that school scream in an answer. "Forks High, are you ready?" This time our screams were louder. "This is what your teams have brought you here for! Here she is performing live for you all, give it up for my girl, Bella Swan!" He announced as finally, Bella, with her head down, was rising from the stage she entered from as everyone went nuts for her.

There, Bella was wearing to what appears to be a cheerleader uniform that seems to be made similar to what both schools are wearing except her colors were in mix in a good combination of blue and silver and grey and yellow. She had her arms behind her back, but I was able to see she was carrying pom-poms of blue and grey with a microphone placed in her ear close to her lips. Bella lifted her head up and started singing.

"It's in the air, the sun's going down.
It's what you feel when you light up this town.
The skies will open, stars will shine bright.
We won't forget what happens tonight.

I'll go left, you'll go right, we will meet in the end.
I'm electric tonight 'cause I feel it again.
We won't stop 'til we're there and my feet hit the ground.
We're cheering tonight and we're loving the sound.

(Let's go!)

We could light the night up, woah, woah!
We could light the night up, woah-oh-oh!
We could light the night up, woah, woah!
We could light the night up, woah-oh-oh!"

Bella starts dancing as the cheerleaders did their dance routine. Soon they were all started dancing together as if Bella has been a cheerleader all her life. There, it got the crowd cheering as they danced through the song while the lights were strobing around the stage as fireworks were launched around the stadium. Behind where the sound system is being played by Martin as he does his job as DJ, there was a screen curtain of some sort and it shows once again the highlights of both teams for their plays throughout the seasons. All displayed as Bella continues singing.

"I'll go left, you'll go right, we will meet in the end.
I'm electric tonight 'cause I feel it again.
We won't stop 'til we're there and my feet hit the ground.
We're cheering tonight and we're loving the sound!"

As Bella continues performing, I noticed something on my right passed Seth. Mike was in front like us, but unlike us, he has his iPhone in his hands. Guess he thinks he can do what he wants since he's not playing. I saw that he was recording the performance, but it wasn't that, he was moving his phone around. And not like he is having a hard time to get an angle through the crowd. He was aiming low. And looking at how it's angled, I looked from it to where Bella is performing as she is a few feet away to being close to the edge and that's when it clicked in my brain to understand Mike's motive causing me to see red.

There was no fucking way I'm going to let Mike get a chance to see what is underneath Bella's uniform because one, she is my girlfriend, and two, no girl should be violated whether onstage or not. I slipped passed Seth, who was too busy dancing with the crowd, and I pretended to dance along without knowing my surroundings. There, I "accidentally" threw my arms out, hitting Mike's hand that's holding his phone causing it to fly out of his hands and fall into the ground causing the screen to shatter and go black on the screen. Mike cried as I held a smirk while I "danced" my way back to my friends, not before I saw Mike turned and glared at me.

"I'll go left, you'll go right, we will meet in the end.
I'm electric tonight 'cause I feel it again.
We won't stop 'til we're there and my feet hit the ground.
We're cheering tonight and we're loving the sound.

We could light the night up, woah, woah (light up the night)!
We could light the night up, woah-oh-oh (light up the night)!
We could light the night up, woah, woah (light up the night)!
We could light the night up, woah-oh-oh (woah)!
We could light the night up, woah, woah (woah, woah)!
We could light the night up, woah-oh-oh (woah, woah)!
We could light the night up, woah, woah (woah)!
We could light the night up, woah-oh-oh (woah)!"

(A/N: End song)

Bella continues singing as she dances with the cheerleaders. Soon, the song ended and she and everyone struck a pose causing all of us in the crowd along with the stadium to cheer for a terrific performance. My girlfriend is amazing.

After Bella's performance, we waited until they were done taking down the stage before the game can resume playing. During that, players on the team started warming up to get ready while talking with our coordinators on what to do now to turn this game around. Mike was the only one not warming up since he was kicked off. I hear Mike complaining to Tyler and Austin on how was he supposed to get Bella's number now. I'm sure that's not the only thing he wanted from Bella. Once the marching band was done performing, it was time for the second half to begin and this time, we get the ball first.

We got the ball on our twenty-five yard line. On the first play of the drive, I threw the ball to Garrett but Jalen was now guarding him thus making Garrett fail to catch the ball resulting in an incomplete pass. I think it's a good thing because Jalen is so focused on Garrett now that I threw the ball to Demetri on the next play for three yards. On third down and seven, I now have five receivers on my side since Ben was pulled for this play. I got the ball on the snap and threw it to a freshman only for him to gain a yard when he was stopped immediately.

I took deep breaths to avoid some frustration getting to me as we ran back on the sideline. Coach Clapp patted me on the shoulder that it was fine even though he was on the edge as we watch the punting team take the field. Both teams got in formation as Brady was ready to punt the ball.

The ball was snapped, but it didn't go into Brady's hands. It went into Garrett's who was right behind the linemen and went to the left when the Knights rushed in on us not seeing the snap. "AND WE GOT A FAKE PUNT!" Luke announces as we all cheered to see Garrett running passed the defenders going full throttle as he runs it all the way.

"It's a fake! This is Garrett McGovern, who gets a block, takes it the other way," Chad says as he waits to see as Garrett gets help to allow him space all the way as he jumps and summersaults into the endzone with a perfect landing. "AND THIS WILL BE SIX! TOUCHDOWN TITANS! FORKS HIGH'S BACK IN IT!" He announces as our school was going crazy seeing how our special teams pulled off a surprising move.

"YES!" I yelled excitedly.

"Boo-yah!" Ben boomed.

"Oh hell yeah!" Demetri exclaimed, flinging his arm around my shoulders with a shake as I laughed at his enthusiasm.

"That's what I'm fucking talking about!" Alec cheered but then cleared his throat trying to be mature about this. "I mean, uh, that was a good one." I chuckled.

None of the less, this is what this team needs. Our spark is still alive. We are not out yet. You know how we say it. It ain't over until we say it's over!

After Colin made the extra point to make 36 – 13, he kicked the ball back to the Knights and Riley took the field with his team after the touchback. Our defense joined in as they prepare for what the Knights got. I saw Seth looking more focused than ever as he took a few steps back from where he and the other linebackers are. Riley then called the snap and got the ball in his hands. His team gave him time to find his target until he threw it to Rob. He caught it for six yards but was stopped immediately by Seth just when he catches the ball and Seth just stopped him right on the dot, bringing him to the ground. That's our linebacker!

On the Knights' next play, Riley handed the ball to his running back but the defense was ready as they not only stopped Marshon, but also made him lost a yard making it now third and five for the Knights. Then, to make it better for the defense, they went all out for this when Riley got the ball.

"Third and five, blitz – and sacked!" Chad announces as we all cheered to see Riley get taken down by Paul with help from Jared when they slipped passed the o-line and both came at Riley before he got the chance as more cheers erupted. Paul and Jared got up as they did their handshake for the big play. Soon, it was time for the Knights to punt.

"Here we go from the seventeen," Chad says as the ball was snapped into the Knights' punter's hands. "JK to punt –"

"OH LOOK OUT!" Luke says as Seth ran straight passed the linemen, in front of the punter just as he kicked the ball into the air but not fast enough when Seth jumped up to deflect it causing the stadium to roar seeing the ball falling to the ground instead of flying across the field.

"Breakthrough and it's Seth with the block and HE RECOVERS IT!" Chad announces as Seth scoops up the ball runs it to the endzone causing every one of us on our side to go wild. "All the way for the touchdown!"

While Colin went on the field to make an extra point, all of us congratulated Seth on that play when he and the defense came back on the sideline.

"I see you, Beast Boy!" I exclaimed as I slapped his chest. "Where were you hiding all of that?"

"I was containing it for the right moment! Guess now is the right moment!" Seth said excitedly as Colin made the extra point making us trail by sixteen (Knights lead 36 – 20) with eleven minutes left of the third quarter.

The Knights were once again in possession of the ball after what happened. Only this time, they weren't lighting up. It seems that they underestimated us big time and they weren't going to let that happen again. Well get used to it, because don't expect that we admit defeat. After all, don't count the score until all points are on the board.

Riley and his team struggled a bit as they couldn't get a first down being two yards short, but instead of punting the ball, they went for it on fourth down. And they succeeded when Riley threw a ten yarder to his wide receiver. Right there is the momentum they need to get things going. Soon, Riley was able to make consecutive completions of his throws as he was now at our twenty yard line on first down.

"Biers with the ball," Chad announces when Riley got the ball after the snap. He looks around until he throws it into the endzone where his receiver is. "To the endzone for Cupp," There were soon cheers when Quil was guarding him and actually tipped the ball in the air when it was heading their way and went into the hands of Sam before he took a knee to stop the play. "PICKED OFF!" He announces as Seth and the others went over to Sam and Quil on a spectacular interception to turn this game around. "Tipped into the air by Ateara and into the hands of Uley!"

"Come on!" I said as my team and I got ready, geared up as we ran onto the field, high fiving Sam and the others on a job well done. Once we got into the huddle at the twenty-five yard line, I gave the play for us to use. And this time, I know we're going to do well. We broke into formation as the Knight's defense were watching, all ready. With one of their star safety out of the game due to the ejection he did to me, I'm confident in this team. It's game on! Time for North Central High to face the wrath of the Elite Four!

(A/N: Play Daredevil from the Persona 5 Strikers Soundtrack!)

"Let's go, Mach Tornado!" I yelled, using my hands like I was telling them to rise up. There, Demetri, and Peter started switching sides as they ran passed each other. I then held up my arms into an X, showing it from both sides as I took a few steps to my right. "No fly, no fly! Twenty-set, kill! Kill!" I said as I got back into my position. "Alright, here we go!" I got my hands out behind my center. "Blue 27, ready set… set hike!"

I got the ball and with help from my o-line, I was given time while my receivers were running around until I saw one that was wide open and I threw it to Alec who caught it for ten yards for a first down as our school was cheering louder than before.

"Let's go, Persona Strike!" I called and looked at Demetri, who nodded his head. "Blue 27, ready… hike!" Movement was made when I got the ball and I threw it to Demetri with Jalen having his arms in front of him before Demetri had a chance and the ball went passed them, landing on the ground until the ref threw a yellow flag.

The refs were together until the head official made his announcement to the crowd. "Pass interference, defense number 20." He said as our school cheered while Jalen was complaining to the officials on how as Demetri and I smirked at how it all works out. "The ball will be placed at the spot of the foul. It's an automatic first down."

And the table has turned on Jalen, as well as the Knights trying to stop us. At midfield, they went for a blitz and I nearly bumped into my teammate but got away from a sack as two Knights players started chasing me and I started running around. With no one open, I made a rush forward, escaped two tackles, and made the first down and more with fifteen rushing yards.

"Here we go! Ready, set hike!" I got the ball and took a second before I threw the ball deep as a Knights player shoved me.

"Cullen, throws it deep down field and IT'S CAUGHT BY TRACKER FOR THE TOUCHDOWN!" Chad announces as our school was cheering louder than ever, even louder than the fireworks that was being launched, as Demetri caught the ball just as Jalen tries to grab him but somehow, Demetri slipped out of Jalen's grasp causing him to fall to the ground as Demetri skips his way into the endzone.

"YEAH!" I exclaimed as I ran down to the endzone towards Demetri. As if he and I were on the same page, he and I jumped into the air and threw a punch at each other, air locking arms before we hit the ground. As we did, Alec and Ben did the same thing to each other coming from our sides and when they landed next to us, all four of us started high fiving each other multiple times like the penguins did in Madagascar for our touchdown celebration. And just like the penguins did it, we kept on slapping each other until I smacked Demetri in the head by "accident" as we laughed and cheered while heading back to the sideline so that Colin can get us the extra point which he did.

"And now Colin to send the kick back to Julian Brown. Let's see if the Knights can answer back after that spectacular drive by the Titans." Chad says as Colin kicks the ball all the way to where the returner is. Julian caught it and made a break for it, running it back and going passed our team. "And Brown is bringing it in passed midfield, having blockers to help him out!" Oh damn. I thought as there were cheers and groans around the stadium seeing Julian passed midfield. "Julian Brown has bypassed everyone, only the kicker stands in his wa – OOH!" Every one of us were shocked when Colin was in front of Julian and suddenly stopped him right on the spot, bringing him into the ground. Then there were cheers when the ball came loose and someone from our team jumped in and recovered it. YES! "Julian fumbles, and is recovered by the Titans! No way!"

"Let's go!" I said as we got onto the field after high fiving Colin for that awesome play. Once I gave them the play, we got in formation and commence showtime!

On the first play, I handed the ball to Ben. He got a quick opening where Chandler was ready for an easy stop, but somehow, Ben used his free hand and actually stiff armed Chandler from the face into the ground so easily causing cheers from us. Ben continues on as he tackles two linebackers in his way before the last one brought him down, but not when Ben got us twenty yards!

The next play is when I moved around until I threw a pass to Demetri who has Jalen again on his ass. Demetri then jumped out of Jalen's reach, arched backwards, and caught in the air with one hand before he hit the ground earning more cheers. There was a flag but it was on the Knights as Jalen was penalized for pass interference which was declined since we got the first down. Despite that, Jalen was getting more frustrated as Demetri gave out a cackle at him.

Already on Knights' territory, I got the ball on the snap when an all-out blitz came at me but I was able to avoid all three as I started to make a run for it to make the first down. On the way, Chandler was coming at me from my left and I held out my arm to the side of his face and threw him down, causing him to be dumbstruck, and I kept on running as I saw Jalen about to tackle me until I actually jumped over him for a hurdle causing big cheers before I was brought down at the twenty-five.

Then it came when I got the ball on the snap again and looked around to see who was open. No one, but I saw Alec with the safety Tyrann covering him, at the endzone calling me and I trusted him when I threw the ball at his direction.

"Cullen throws to the endzone and it seems to be CAUGHT!" Chad announces as Tyrann looked like he successfully prevented Alec from catching the ball when it went passed him, only Alec went over his shoulder and caught it with one hand, causing our school to erupt in cheers. "It's Alec Volturi! And the Elite Four are catching up!"

Ben, Demetri, and I ran over to join Alec on the touchdown celebration as we did a choreography of New Edition, If It Isn't Love that we practiced over the weekend since the Seahawks did it. Once we got the extra point, we see that our team is now trailing by two points. Well, make it five as Riley and the Knights have scored a field goal but they continue to struggle with our defense now transforming into The Pack that they are.

The third quarter ended which means it all comes to the final fifteen minutes, Knights still leading 39 – 34, but luckily, it's our ball. After the ball was given to us, (I got to see Mike sulk before I went onto the field making me feel smug about it), we got in formation.

"Red 27, ready… set hike!" I yelled and ball was snapped into my hands. I quickly turned around and handed the ball to Ben who took it and ran to the right, breaking free through the linemen.

"Here comes the first play, and the Titans are going to run the ball and there goes Cheney," Our school erupted in cheers to see Ben break away for a run. "Bursting through the line of scrimmage AND THERE'S CULLEN COMING IN FOR A BLOCK!" Chad announces as I ran up to where I saw a linebacker coming at Ben for a stop until he was met with me when Ben pulled back to let me through causing us both to go out of bounds as Ben went on until he was stopped at the forty yard line, close to midfield while the crowd was screaming. I went back on the field to my team on the next play before we got in formation.

When the ball was snapped, I threw it to Demetri for a bullet pass. He caught it and was brought down just shy to be at midfield. On the next play,

"Blue 27, set hike!" I yelled as the ball was snapped into my hands and threw it to Alec who jumped and fell while failing to catch the ball thus the refs ruled it incomplete. However when Alec got up, he called coach to challenge it. And after we saw the video where even though Alec let the ball drop when failing to catch, it didn't hit the ground and Alec scooped it up while falling to catch it meaning it's a completed catch. YES! Now we are once again in Knights territory.

On the next play, I decided to make things interested. I called for the snap and threw the ball as it floated over to Ben who caught it, who has three Knights players in his way, but he manages it to tiptoe, still in bounds, all the way to the endzone causing our school to cheer as we have now taken the lead.

However, now the Knights coach threw a challenge about the touchdown… and he won it. Ben had actually had one of his feet stepped out of bounds by an inch at the nine yard line thus meaning our touchdown was taking off the board causing disappointment from us while the other school were delighted. That's not stopping us though. At least we're near the goal.

On first and goal, I gave the ball to Ben again as he was able to get six yards into it as we are closer to regain that touchdown.

"Ready, set hike!" I yelled as I got the ball in my hands and let Ben run passed me heading straight to the linemen as they all shifted to stop Ben from scoring. Only he didn't have the ball at all.

"Here's Cullen for the touchdown!" Chad announces as I easily ran into the endzone causing our school to cheer. Demetri, Alec, and Ben joined me as we all got down on our stomachs and pretended to be swimming until we got up and actually started to look like we are surfing as Garret comes in pretending to be a shark. With the rushing touchdown scored and Colin giving the extra point, we are taking the lead 41 – 39.

The Knights got the ball with six minutes left in the game. Riley throws it to his receiver Logan who caught it for six yards. Clock keeps ticking as the Knights ran the ball giving it to Marshon who got the first down. Then on the next play, Riley threw it to his trusty tight end and Rob caught it for another ten yards as he steps out of bounds afterwards with five minutes left on the clock.

"Biers is now close to Titans territory to try and get his team to retake the lead." Chad announces as Riley got the ball and threw it to his receivers when someone jumped in and caught it. "AND HERE'S A PICK!" Our school cheered to see the freshman that took over for Tyler caught the ball thus giving us possession to add more points on the board. "And that's exactly what Forks High needed!"

"Got that right!" Demetri said as the defense was celebrating with the freshman on a good pick.

"Yeah, why didn't we use him instead of Tyler since the beginning?" Ben asked and I shrugged as we all got back on the field where we are at our own forty-five.

First play of the drive, I got the ball and made a run for it.

"And he's keeping it! Edward Cullen!" Chad announces as the school cheered for me while I was now in our opponents side and went out of bounds for thirty five yards. "Got the first down and more at the Knights thirty-five!"

I ran back onto the field to get ready for the next play. I got the ball and then threw a bullet pass to Alec who caught it, just as two safeties stopped him just shy for a first down. However, Alec wasn't going to let that stop him as he somehow uses all the strength he has and threw himself and the other two over the first down marker causing us to cheer.

After getting in formation with two and a half minutes left on the clock, I called the snap and caught it, quickly handing it to Ben who made a break for it.

"Here's Cheney," Luke says as Ben got through the linemen and went all the way in causing cheers to erupt.

"THERE GOES THE TRAIN! Ben Cheney, in for the touchdown!" Chad announces as the guys and I ran over to Ben, lined up in position where we started running and then hurdle over like they did in track meets as a celebration.

After we were done celebrating, I looked at the sideline and saw Coach Clapp holding out two fingers at me and I understood what he means; he wants to go for two extra points. It's risky since it doesn't involve the kicker. We play the ball like normal but we get one shot at the goal line.

We got in formation after I gave the play at the two yard line. I took a deep breath and made the call.

"Ready, set, … hike-hike!" I got the ball and looked around who was opened as movement broke out. Some Knights players came at me and I made a scramble to avoid failing a two point conversion. I was near the sideline and was about to be pushed out of bounds until I threw it without looking. As I hit the ground, cheers were erupted and I saw who caught it in the endzone.

"CAUGHT!" Chad announces as Alec had the ball while our school cheered. "By Alec Volturi! And now the Titans are on top, leading by ten points!" I got up and met with Alec, Demetri, and Ben, celebrating with him and soon we started doing the gritty since we now officially take the lead 49 – 39 with only two minutes to go.

(A/N: End song.)

"YES! We did it!" Ben cheered as we returned on the sidelines.

"And that's how we do it!" Alec said excitedly.

"Game over now for the Knights!" Demetri exclaimed.

"Don't say it until the clock hits zero." I said with a smile as I looked at the score board. The Knights only have one time out to try and score two touchdowns to beat us or make a touchdown with a field goal to tie the game into overtime. Hopefully that doesn't come to it.

We watched as Riley and Knights were able to get back into the groove where they are successful making plays leading up to midfield until they are in our territory. We watched anxiously on third and down when the Knights tried to make a move but our defense were able to stop them and made the Knights go for a field goal which did successfully made. We're still winning 49 – 42 with thirty seconds left on the clock.

Knowing about football myself, when it comes to the final seconds and you are a score away from winning the game, you have to make an onside kick. It's different than a regular kickoff. The kicking team actually starts close to midfield as they can either kick it in the air or down like a soccer and anyone can recover it. And that's what the Knights are about to do as they and our team, Demetri, Ben, and Alec included, got into formation ready for the onside kick. If the Knights recover it, then there is still hope for them, but if we recover the ball, it's game over and we win.

I watch nervously as the kicker sent a light kick into the air towards our team where movement was made from our team to prevent the Knights from stopping us to recover the ball as it was heading to where Alec is. Alec went a little forward and was prepared to catch it when someone jumped in front of him.

"NO!" I said as there were cheers when Tyler jumped up and tried to catch the ball. Only that it went through his arms so easily, bounced off his helmet and into the hands of the Knights player.

"AND IT'S BEEN RECOVERED BY NORTH CENTRAL HIGH!" I watched in disbelief as the Knights were celebrating seeing they have a chance while our school were crying how Tyler fucked up.

"What the hell were you thinking?!" Alec yelled at Tyler angrily as they all returned to the sideline.

"It was coming my way. I had to catch it." Tyler said defensively.

"No it wasn't!" I said as I came over to him in a very pissed off way. "It was heading towards Alec! It was his job to try and recover the ball! Your job was to just block anyone from interfering!"

"Hey, he was doing it right, Cullen! You don't know shit!" Mike said coming to his friend's defense.

"No, it's both of you!" Ben snapped. "Both of you don't even know how to play the goddamn game playing like fucking middle schoolers!"

"All you did Tyler was trying to show off something that you don't even have, dumbass!" Demetri yelled at Tyler causing him to grab Demetri when coach stepped in.

"ENOUGH!" Coach yelled when he broke them apart. "Crowley, I told you time and time again to do what you are told and follow the system, but you fucking ignored it and try to make it all about you! This team is a "we" team, not a "me" team! You're done! Take off your gear! No varsity letter and championship ring for you either!" Coach led me and my friends away as we saw Tyler was assisted by one of the coaches back into the locker room while he was stomping away in anger. "That is if we can win this championship because of him." He said as we watch the Knights at midfield now and it's third and five with five seconds left on the clock which it stopped due to the Knights used their final timeout.

Riley got the ball as our defense did an all out blitz on him. He runs off and tries to find an open while his receivers and our secondary ran all the way to the endzone. Oh no. I thought as Riley stopped, pulls back, and lets it fly all the way into the endzone where numerous players jumped up to catch the ball until it falls into his hands causing cheers to erupt big time.

"And it's CAUGHT!" Chad announces seeing in the end of Riley's tight end. "Rob Kelce caught it for a touchdown!"

"Now what are you going to do?" Luke asks as Riley and his team are still on the field. "Do you kick the extra point to tie the game and go into overtime or do you go for two?" We waited until finally, to our relief (sort of), they kicked the extra point that was made as the clock hit zero, meaning we are now into overtime.

Seth ran up to me on the sidelines as he joins us. "Edward," He gave a light punch as I nodded my head.

"You got this." Ben said to me as he patted my back.

"Game on." Alec said as he ruffled my hair.

"No pressure, bud." Demetri said he gave my shoulder a firm squeeze.

I took a deep breath and walk towards the field the same time Riley did as we met up with the head referee.

"Welcome gentlemen," He greeted us both. "We will go over the basic of overtime rules. Both teams will get the opportunity to possess the ball for a minimum of one time with ten minutes on the clock. After the first possession, the first team to score will win the championship unless, that first possession results in touchdown.

If we go through an entire period with no score, we will continue to play football as if it were a regular game and start the second quarter. Both teams will get two timeouts and all replays will be reviewed at the replay booth." He finishes and then turns to me.

"Forks High, you're the visiting team, what's your call?"

"Heads." I answered. The ref made a confirm from me and then stepped back as he tossed the huge coin into the air.

This is it. I thought as the coin was doing multiple flips in the air. It all comes down on this coin toss. My call is fifty-fifty. If I made the wrong call, then it's possibly over once Riley gets the ball. I watched nervously as the coin hit the ground and shows the logo on one coin side.

"It is heads, Forks High wins the toss." The ref says. Yes! "What are you going to do?" He asked me.

"We want the ball." I answered.

"North Central High, which way do you want them to go?" The ref asks Riley. Riley pointed behind him as the ref nodded before he made his announcement. "Forks High won the coin toss and they elected to have the ball." Our school cheered as I shook Riley's hand before I went back on the sideline.

The Knights kicked the ball to us and Garett tried to return it but was stopped at the ten yard line. Soon it was our time as my team and I went onto the field.

"Alright guys, this it. This is now or never." I said to them in the huddle. "Listen, whatever happens tonight, I want you all to know that I am grateful to have been your quarterback for this school."

"Hey man, we should be thanking you for making us into the team we are tonight!" Garett said.

"Yeah bro, no matter what, you're our quarterback, and we love you!"

"Here, here!" The rest of them said as I smiled while trying not to shed a tear from this moment.

"Alright, let's do it!" We broke up and got in formation. "Red 27, ready… set hike!" I got the ball and handed to none other than Ben who got five yards into the play. The next play I made a light pass to Alec who got us the first down at our twenty.

The next two plays made things difficult as the first one I gave it to Ben again who only got three this time and the second play, there was a blitz and I made a scramble until I was stopped but no gain of yardage with third and seven coming up. We can't afford to let the Knights get the ball.

"Ready, get set, HIKE!" I got the ball in my hands as movement was made and I threw it to Garret.

"Cullen to McGovern," Cheers erupted as Garret went passed the first down marker and then stopped at midfield. "What a throw! Inside the Knights' forty!"

Garret quickly gets up as he joins us back in the huddle.

"Okay, we're almost there. Let's do this, Critical Hit!" I said causing them to be surprised.

"Are you sure, captain?"

"Dude, we hardly practiced that one. I'm not even sure we got it down right."

"Well, it's a do or die moment." I said as Alec, Ben, and Demetri nodded their heads in understanding. We may have another first down now with plenty of time left on the clock, but with the way the Knights are playing lately, we have to end this game. Now!

We broke out of the huddle and lined up with the ball. I got behind my center as I got myself ready.

"Alright, here we go!" I said as I got my hands out. "Blue 27, ready… set hike!" I got the ball as movement was made. This was my chance as I threw the ball hard. All eyes were on the ball as it was sent flying high into the air making its way to where the goal line is.

"Cullen, towards the endzone," Chad says as players were coming for the ball to catch it. "It is… CAUGHT!" The whole stadium erupted in the loudest cheers possible when Demetri caught the ball, held on to it and fell into the endzone for touchdown.

"FORKS HIGH WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP! Demetri Tracker!"

"YES!" I said over the loud crowd as I ran down to the endzone with my entire team as we all jumped on each other for the victory.

"WHAT A GAME! WHAT A RIVALRY! WHAT! A! CHAMPIONSHIP! I assure you that we will be seeing more of Edward and Riley in the future!"

Fireworks erupted around the stadium, confetti was flying of blue and silver, cheers from our school were happy at how we won. I can see in the stadium where my classmates led by the Angela, Jane, Jessica, and Heidi were going nuts on the celebration. Even coach on the sidelines was in tears for it.

Soon, our team and staff were shaking hands with the other team as they congratulated us on a good game. I soon met up with Riley who praised me on a spectacular performance and that he'll see me next year in college. Afterwards, I met up with the reporter who pulled me aside for the postgame interview.

"Congratulations, Edward on an amazing game! What a thriller it was to see you and your team pull through in the end. I bet you're overcome with emotions, tell me what are you thinking right now." Julia asked as she then held the mic at me.

"Aw man," I said, wiping the tears out of my eyes. "It's unbelievable. You know, people are thinking that the game is over from the beginning, that they won. But that wasn't going to stop us. We did what we could to fight back and I'm glad we did. We wouldn't have won this game if it wasn't for everyone on the team who made it happened, those who play the game as one. I'm just happy that we won."

"You got anything to say to everyone watching?" Julia asked.

"I just wanna thank my family and friends for believing in me when the going gets tough. I wanna thank my team and the coaches who made it possible, the entire Forks High for cheering us all the way to the end, especially to that one specific fan who gave me the confidence I needed to bring this championship for this school!" I smiled big as I saw coach coming over with the big black and gold championship trophy.

"How about you hoist this bad boy, Mr. MVP?" He smiled as my team cheered for this honor. I took the trophy in my hand and raised it up causing the whole stadium to cheer.

Soon I passed the trophy around to my teammates as they basked in the moment. As they did so, all gathering around in the process being occupied with the trophy. I saw through the crowd my classmates with my family and from a far distance from them was Bella's family and friends. She wasn't with them though. Instead, she was at the tunnel, she saw me and motioned her head to the inside. I snuck my way through the crowd and went through the other tunnel.

I jog through the silent hallway until I saw Bella looking the other way, as if she was expecting me to follow her in that direction. I smirked as I came up behind her and lifted her in the air with spin causing her to squeal.

"Were you expecting someone?" I teased as I put her down.

"Just the champion." She giggled. "You were spectacular." Bella said breathlessly.

"I couldn't have done it without your support." I said as I still held her in my arms.

"That's because I didn't stop believing in you." Bella said as she placed her hand on my face.

"Speaking of performance, you were awesome at halftime." I said, leaning my forehead against hers.

"Thank you." Bella said. "But this night isn't about me, it's about you and your team. Mostly you."

"You wanna tell me what you mean by that?" I smirked. Bella giggled as she wrapped her arms around my neck. I had my lips on hers as I held her close to me. The trophy and MVP honors didn't matter to me, this here was all I needed after a game. Her lips on mine.

We were kissing into heaven when a gasp was made causing Bella and I to immediately break apart and we froze when we were facing not just Mike and his friends, but my friends, Bella's friends and nearly the entire school from Forks and North Central High and the sports media with cameras on us as they all stared at us in shock.

Oh shit.

"So… how about that game eh?" Demetri said to everyone. "Funny how Mike and Tyler aren't getting a ring, right?"

Oh boy. Good game and halftime show, right? (nervous laugh) lmfao

I know that was a lot on football and many of you aren't football fans but oh well.

Hey guys, sorry about the delay but you can see why. This was a lot of work to do for this chapter. And I mean A LOT. I mean, I wanted this chapter to be good and… well you can see why.
