Edward's POV
A lot can happen when one thing leads to another, more in the city of Forks than what happens anywhere else, even in L.A. With news going off about Mike being the one responsible for the lying photo of me and Tanya, everyone in Forks really shows their dislike towards him. I haven't heard anything about him since I found out he was disowned by his parents after the expulsion. I didn't think they would do that to their own son, but I guess Mike's character was too much for them, especially with the biggest scandal. With that, everyone in Forks is always talking about Mike after hearing the news about him and his family.
I stopped by their sporting goods store one day with my friends to get some new shorts and possibly new shoes for workout in the summer to see how they were doing, because I know Mike's parents aren't like Mike. Surprisingly, the store hasn't been affected by Mike's scandal and people still come here often. Well, I guess it is after all the best sporting goods store in the city. Anyway, when I ran into them, Mrs. Newton expressed her deepest apologies for what Mike did while her husband stood by the counter, silently. Though I can tell he is sorry as well, his mood, however, was deeply affected by Mike's actions. I never blamed them for Mike's action. They never had anything to do with it and they are good people.
As for me, people are still talking about how I exposed Mike with my actions as rumors and stories about who I am were all over the internet, but it seem to die down. But I guess that's mainly because Mike is the big talk for being linked to my relationship with Bella. People are going to talk, so I have to do my best and do what everyone has been telling me to do and that's to lay low. … Until the Billboard Music Awards.
After Seth went back home to apologies to his mother taking off suddenly of the news of her and Charlie having interest in each other, which they made up, I called Bella about the awards show and what was going on. Long story, it seems like her new manager Reyna, friends and Charlie suggested Bella and I to make our appearance together. They did in fact tried to get us to get us to go out at the Grammys, but of course we shut that down for obvious reasons. Then when they suggested we go to the Billboard Music Awards together, Bella was hesitant, but everyone suggested we do it to show people how serious we are for each other, even if others will think it's staged or some publicity stunt. Plus, it would be a chance for some people to get to know me as a person, and according to Charlie and Jacob, help me prepare for the future of my hopes in becoming an NFL quarterback. After much thinking, they may be right. If I were to become famous myself, I need to prepare for the cameras and interviews coming my way. And plus, Bella is my life now, so it's only fair that I become part of hers and do what she does for a living and that's joining her in the spotlight. I'm not going to hog it, just have to be there with her for support.
I woke up on a Saturday April morning where it's the start of spring break. I'm glad to have the week off from school, especially now that I'm done with detention I had to do throughout March meaning I'm no longer grounded. After having my parent-teacher conference and seeing I met all the requirements as a senior, I'm all set to graduate. All that's left is to endure the next few weeks before finals and then it's time to move forward. And since I will be attending UW after all, I'm very excited for the upcoming football season. For now, I get to relax and enjoy the break and spend time with my friends and family. Bella and her friends will be coming over later in the afternoon and stay at my place where we all get the chance to hangout. It's been awhile since we did that if you don't count the Christmas party. Most importantly, I get to see Bella after so long. These last few months have been tough being away from her, but it's not like it's any different than how we went through it before.
After getting out of bed and taking a quick shower to freshen up the day, I went downstairs and headed into the kitchen where my mom and Renesmee are.
"Good morning, Edward!" My sister greeted me happily as she was eating a plate of pancakes.
"Breakfast is ready for you." Esme smiled to me as she pointed out a plate of blueberry pancakes ready for me. Fuck yes!
"Thanks mom!" I said as I grabbed a bottle of syrup and poured it down on my pancakes before I sat next to my sister. I looked around and noticed the setup around the kitchen. "What's going on here?" I asked before I took a bite of my food.
"Oh I'm just getting things made for the bake sale at the Boys and Girls Club while making things ready for when Bella and her friends come over." Esme said as she went over her Google home device and looked over what she needs. "Then I got to make a list of all the things I need for Renesmee and her cheer squad when they do their car wash event next week. Boy, the things I get to do and I don't even have my old job."
I swallowed my food a bit hard as I felt a bit guilty about what my mom said on that last part. While my dad is lucky he got to keep his job and his coworkers had to go the long way to mend the fences for how they treated him at the hospital, my mom isn't. Ever since she left her company, she decided to be a stay at home mom. Her company had tried numerous times to call my mom and have her come back, apologizing her for what happened. The employee that told on her about me in that article resulted in that guy into being demoted from his position and had to make up all the work my mom left for them without extra pay. Word on the street is that the company is struggling. And now, all my mom does now is look after me and Renesmee, and I'm the reason why.
"You know, the company does feel bad for what happened and just wanted to make things right. You didn't have to quit, because of me." I said.
My mother, however, shook her head as she smiled. "Oh no, everything that happened to me wasn't your fault at all." She said. "Laurent started all of it, and my idiot of a coworker tried to make you look bad by telling my former boss to question who I am. And he only did that because he worked here for forty years and I've been given a higher position than him despite the seniority he has. So I'm not going back to that place if people question my family and who I am over a celebrity article.
And besides, I think it works out for the best. With you about to head off to college, someone's got to look after Renesmee. So that's why I decided to be a stay at home mom. That way, I can still spend time with you both and look after Renesmee. I'll even be involved in some of the school events. So don't worry about me, Edward. I'll do just fine until then." She smiled.
I would argue with my mom, but it's hard to do so when it comes to her. She seems to have her reasons and looks to be happy about it. So who am I to go against it?
I went over to give my mom a hug. "I promise I'll make it up to you one day when I make it into the NFL."
Esme smiled as she returned the hug. "Alright, now go finish your breakfast and help me out around here. There's a lot to do before everyone arrives." She said and I nodded my head before finishing my breakfast the rest of the morning.
"Alright sis, are you ready for your lesson?" I asked Renesmee, once I got her helmet on securely.
"Wee!" She cheered as she got on her bike. "Teach me tricks!"
I chuckled as I shook my head. The things I do for my little sister. It's the middle of the afternoon and we are just waiting for Bella and her friends to arrive. Everything at home is all cleaned up and ready for our guests. So while we wait, I'm about to teach Renesmee how to ride a two-wheeler bike that she got for Christmas since she's old enough to do so. Man, can't believe my little sister is growing up that fast.
"Alright, let's go over the hand signals." I instructed her and used my hand to show her what they mean. "Right turn, left turn, slow down, and stop." I said as Renesmee was mimicking my hand movement. "Okay, you know the signals. Let's start training you on riding a bike."
"Wait, Edward, I have a question." Renesmee said, raising one hand in the air while the other hand was on the handlebar of her bike.
"Shoot." I said.
"What does this mean?" Renesmee asked as she waved both her hands around and made a silly face, sticking her tongue out causing me to give her a questionable weird look.
"Okay first of all, you shouldn't do that since you need to have both hands on the handlebars," I pointed out. "And second of all, who even told you about that?"
"Jason's older brother taught him when he was learning how to ride a bike." Renesmee said. That would explain that one time I saw him at the hospital with a cast on his arm. I need a reminder to do a background check on Renesmee's friends.
Before I could tell her that I have no idea what that means, I heard footsteps, jogging it's way behind me. And the louder it got, the more clear I can hear where the sound of dripping and barefoot were made, causing me to be confused as I turned around. And what I saw made me froze to see one of our neighbors Mr. Simpleton came up to us… all wet. And let's just say that thankfully he has underpants on as to why I froze at the sight of him due to his overweight appearance.
"Hi Mr. Simpleton! What's this?" Renesmee asked when Mr. Simpleton came over to her and handed her a big fish being put into a plastic bag.
"What's that? You did this!" Mr. Simpleton answered doing that thing Renesmee just showed me. What the fuck?! I thought as I did a double take with my mouth hanging open. How did he know?! "Where I come from, doing that on a bike means bring me a fish, fast!" He then gasped. "I left the tub running. Say hi to your folks for me, bye!" And before my sister and I could respond, he took off, running back to his house, leaving a trail of water behind.
I just stood there, gaping at what I just witnessed.

I shook my head and took the fish out of my sister's hands. "Okay, we are not explaining that to mom." I said as Renesmee nodded her head, though she was confused why.
We spent the next few minutes on Renesmee's riding lesson and she surprisingly got the hang of it, even knowing how to pedal backwards when putting on the brakes. She's a natural. I thought sadly, seeing how Renesmee's handling things so quickly.
That's when I heard honking and I turned to see two cars slowly pulling over on the driveway and I smiled. Before I could react, the driver's side door opened up and Bella immediately got out as she made her way towards me for a hug as I return it with one arm.
"Miss me much?" I chuckled as I kissed her forehead.
"Very." Bella smiled. "You don't know how much I wanted this since I got here."
"And you all complain to me about taking a chill pill." Victoria called out and I looked to see her and the rest of Bella's coming out of the cars, laughing causing Bella to roll her eyes.
"And what do you call Emmett and Rosalie going at it in that one hotel pool back in Vegas?" Bella called out.
"I call it a night – OW!" Emmett cried when Rosalie smacked him in the back of his head.
"He doesn't need to know!" Rosalie said to him in annoyance. No, I don't. I thought. "And plus, his sister is here."
"For once, I agree with you on that part, blondie." Jacob said. "What's going on here?"
"Just teaching Renesmee how to ride a bike." I shrugged as Renesmee rode her bike up to us.
"Hi everybody!" She said happily, her eyes lighting up seeing Jacob causing him to smile.
"Wow Nessie, did you really learn how to ride a bike in just one day?" Rosalie smiled in amazement. "It took me like a week to learn how." She gave out a left.
"It's not really that hard. Just learn not to fall." Jacob sniggered earning a glare from Rosalie earning laughs from us. That's when a bark was let out and we all turned to see the little happy puppy in Jacob's arm.
"Fluff!" Renesmee exclaimed as Jacob went over and held out Fluff to my sister allowing Bella's dog to happily lick her face causing Renesmee to giggle.
"Well, you guys ready to enjoy spending the week with us on our spring break?" I asked them.
"Most definitely!" Jasper smiled. "After all the work we've been doing and all the craziness that has happened, mostly that revolves around you Edward, I believe we deserve a little time to relax."
"It'll be just like how we all took that month off after Bella's final show!" Alice said cheerfully, causing me to smile. What she said, reminded me how it all happened; from seeing her at my first game of the school year, to meeting her on stage at her concert, to seeing her again because of Fluff, all leading to how she and I ended up together. I turned to Bella, who looked me and I can tell she was thinking the same way. "I see how you two are!" She said happily. "Let's get this spring break started!"
"Yeah, I ready for some fun time!" Emmett boomed causing me to chuckle while Bella shook her head. "I got my laptop ready to play Fortnite with you and boys!" He announced, showing his backpack which I'm guessing has his laptop in it.
"And that's why us girls will go shopping." Victoria said, rolling her eyes while Alice was jumping up and down, clapping her hands excitedly.
"Well let's get you guys settled in while we wait for my friends to arrive. Then we'll figure out what to do today." I said as everyone else agrees.
"Hey Edward, what's that you're holding?" Bella asked. It was then I realized I forgot I was still holding the bag of fish Mr. Simpleton gave us earlier and I never got the chance to put it away yet.
"Oh," I said and started to feel really embarrassed to answer. "Uh, our neighbor came by earlier to give us a fish."
"Your neighbor?" Bella said in confusion. Ah fuck, please don't make me answer and relive what I saw.
"Yeah! He came by in his underwear all wet and he gave me a bag of fish because I did this!" Renesmee answered as she did that thing she showed me causing me to cringe. I looked at Bella and her friends who just stood there and stared at us for some reason.
"Oh my god!" Rosalie said with a horrified look on her face.
"My eyes!" Alice cried, covering her eyes in doing so.
"I think I'm going to be sick!" Jacob said and then covered his mouth as if he was about to barf.
"I need a cold shower!" Victoria said and took off into my house without a word.
"Don't look at me!" Jasper said, turning around as if he was ashamed about something.
Emmett just stood there until he finally spoke. "Okay, I get it now." He said as Bella just stood in my arms looking mortified.
I was confused about what their reaction, but I know one thing, they all stumbled upon Mr. Simpleton on the way here.
Once Bella and her friends recovered of what they've experienced, they all got themselves settled until a few minutes later, my friends arrived, except they didn't bring bags since they don't have to stay over for the week. At least that'll make things less crowded at home with just my parents and sister plus Bella and her friends.
"We are here!" Demetri announced as he came into the media room where we were waiting.
"Got the videogames!" Ben said as he showed us his PlayStation 4 with Angela holding his game collection.
"Got the karaoke!" Jane said as she and Jessica had the machine and cables and mics for hookups.
"And I got the food!" Seth said as he, Heidi, Alec and Demetri were bringing in a total of shockingly twenty pizzas.
"Jesus Christ Seth, there's only sixteen of us, plus Renesmee." Jacob said in astonishment, seeing all the pizza boxes. "No way we can eat like… ten slices of those."
"Actually, five of these are for me!" Seth said as he sat the boxes with the rest of the pizzas while opening one, pulling out a slice and eating it. "My stomach has been growling all afternoon."
"You just had a snack like five minutes ago." Alec said, rolling his eyes causing Seth to shrug.
"Hey, my man's gotta eat what man's gotta eat." Jane said as she smiled while coming over to Seth and gave him a hug. Seth smiled as he pulls her close to him and plants a kiss on her forehead. At least Seth is in a better mood after accepting his mom getting back on the dating scene.
"Well I'm very excited for this spring break spending time with you all." Angela said. "School has been a killer, especially for us seniors."
"No kidding!" Demetri stated. "Aside from baseball practices, all that's been happening to us is books, class and learning sh – stuff." He said, quickly stopping himself from cussing when Renesmee held out her hand to him. "Can't risk losing more money from her."
"Gee, I wonder why." Jessica giggled causing Heidi to shake her head. I looked at between the two of them.
"Demetri, what did you bet against her this time?" I sighed.
"About Lauren." Demetri grumbled causing me to be confused. "You know how she's been acting odd over the last few days? Well, I said to believe that Lauren is pmsing while Jessica believed that Lauren's pregnant. And… well, guess who was right?"
"Wait what?!" I said and quickly looked to see Jacob pulling my sister aside so that she doesn't hear it while he was still able to listen in on the conversation. "She's pregnant?! With who?"
"Mr. Bowie." Seth answered.
"Wait, one of the history teachers?!" I asked in shock. I knew he has a bit of a reputation for being creepy when it comes to women, especially to the girls and female teachers of our school, but I never thought he would actually manage to get that close to a woman, let alone a high school student.
"Yeah, we just heard while we were getting the pizzas." Heidi explained. "That's what he was being arrested for. Apparently, he caved in when that airhead needed a way to boost her grade and gave that old dinosaur a "private" lesson. Now he's rotting in prison while Lauren is apparently "grounded for life" as she has to raise the baby on her own. No help from her family after graduation."
Okay then. I thought with a weirded out look at the information I'm hearing. "How much did you lose, Demetri?" I asked.
"Five hundred dollars. No way my dad's gonna raise my allowance after this." Demetri sighed as I shook my head. When will he ever learn not to bet against Jessica?
"Was at least good to her?" Victoria asked.
"Really?! That's what you took from all of that?" Jasper asked in disbelief.
"You guys sure do live an… interesting life." Bella said awkwardly.
"It's Forks, Washington. Everything that happens everyday is always interesting for everyone to hear." Alec said with a shrug as my friends and I agree with him.
"Um, not to sound like I want to avoid any more of this awkwardness, which I do, let's get this party started!" Emmett announced as he held out the microphones for the karaoke machine that is hooked up.
"I say Super Smash Bros!" Jacob declared.
"And I say it's go time!" Jane said looking like she has A-game on. Here we go again.
We all spent the first two hours playing video games while eating the food that was brought. And it was an all out brawl from Smash Bros., to Mario Kart and many other multiplayer games involved. Most of us were just having some fun, while some people cough-cough Jane, took things so seriously. None of the less, every one of us was having a great time. Right now, we are playing another game of Dance Dance Revolution and I took a break after doing a round as I sat down on the sectional couches with my friends.
"What's a matter, Cullen? Couldn't take it?" Jane asked looking smug.
I just chuckled. "No, I needed to catch my breath while letting others have a turn." I said as I saw Bella taking a turn of the round with Jacob, Alice and Renesmee. "Besides, not everyone can keep up with you." I teased.
"Hey, it's not my fault they're all being complete wusses." Jane said.
"Seriously, how are you two related?" I asked Alec.
"I don't know." Alec shrugged. "I knew how Jane turned out to be the minute she tried to wrapped her umbilical cord around me."
"Okay like, ew! TMI!" Jessica said.
"Hey, you guys asked." Alec said.
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean we have to hear it." Heidi said with a shudder.
"Man, this is awesome!" Seth said as he flopped on the couch next to me. "How crazy is this that we get to spend spring break with the stars of Rainbow Garden?"
"Crazy is an understatement." Angela said.
"Yeah, the odds of us hanging out with celebrities is like very slim." Ben stated. "Those chances happen very often to people like us."
"Okay, I'm not trying to put down your nerd talk and everything, Ben, but I'm not sure if chance has anything to do with it." Demetri said.
"What do you mean, Demetri?" Angela asked.
"I mean, think about it. Our lives back then have been… pretty normal. You know, living our lives going through school, being with our families, hanging out together, football games and all that stuff." Demetri said. "We get to even go see the Seahawks play live in their home stadium a few times and have been to concerts before, even going traveling during the summer. We even meet some stars in a hello and goodbye just to get their autographs and get pictures with them."
"Yeah, what a life we were living in, huh." Jane said like she couldn't believe it.
"But not a life like this." Demetri said causing us to be confused. "A life where a famous group of celebrities come across our school to watch our team play, then get invited to sing on stage them, then somehow being brought together after finding their dog which leads to getting to birthday parties and hanging out together, all while this guy here is dating a celebrity that many guys wish it was them instead? What are the odds all that happening to us all?"
"It's probably just a coincidence." Jessica suggested with a shrug as some of us nodded our heads.
"No, you don't get it." Demetri said. "Think about it. We were already well known here in this city of Forks, and we're not even famous. That was before Bella and her friends came into our lives. A lot of things have happened to us and we got to experience things that no student in school has got the chance to since the beginning of our senior year. And Edward isn't the only one being well known, more than he has been. You all saw how people keep coming up to us, not just at school, but everywhere else, wanting to know about Edward and Bella and that's only because we're friends with him and we got to be included on the things Edward gets to be a part of.
I mean, I always knew that one day, the boys I will one day be famous making it into the NFL, but this is crazy that we're getting the attention and the things we do with Bella and her friends. I had Heidi going at girls after girls after I received like twenty-four messages –" He was interrupted when his phone went off and he looked at it with a frown. "Make that twenty-five," He sighed as Heidi frowned. "From them wanting my attention. You don't see something this crazy when everything that you thought wouldn't happen, happens."
"And yet, they have happened in unexpected ways." Alec said after having a thought.
"Exactly!" Demetri said.
"Hmm," I said, pondering on Demetri's thought as the guys were thinking as well, while the girls were looking at us.
"Angela, what happens when you test a theory over and over and over again only to come into the same result?" Ben asked.
"A hypothesis becomes… facts." Angela slowly answered as she looked unsure. "But you're not actually suggesting that –"
"I don't know, but all these events, from celebrities watching us play, to seeing them in person, to hanging out with them, where one of our friends is dating a super star and then your mom and that super star's dad have a thing going on, seems to be more than chances being a coincidence." Seth said.
"Maybe it's not a coincidence." I said.
"That's what I'm saying! We were meant to have something like this happening to us." Demetri stated as he looked excited about what he's saying. "It's not a coincidence."
"Okay, and um… just to clarify, babe, are you guys suggesting that this happened to us all because it was… what, destiny?" Heidi asked to be sure.
Demetri looked like he was about to say something, only to pause until, "Maybe." He said in a "Sure, let's go with that" tone.
"Maybe." Ben said.
"Maybe." Seth said.
"Maybe." Alec said.
"Maybe." I said as the girls looked at us. And that's when a thought came to me. "Or maybe… you're just a dumbass." That caused my friends and I to laugh while Demetri frowns. And without warning, he quickly got behind me in a playful chokehold.
"I'll show you who's the dumbass here!" He said as he and I started wrestling around on the floor while I hear my friends laughing in the background. After a while, Demetri and I stopped play-fighting as we sat up on the floor.
"No matter what you do, you still fight like shit." I teased earning a playful shove from Demetri. That's when I heard giggling and we both looked up to see Bella who was amused. I smiled as Bella helped me up as Demetri did it himself.
"What was that about?" She asked.
"Oh, just us guys being guys." I chuckled as I wrapped my arms around her. "Having fun?"
"Yes, especially that I get to spend time with you." Bella smiled. "I feel like we've been apart forever."
"I know, but hey, we only got like two months left until graduation and then we can enjoy the summer before we start college." I said.
"Yeah." Bella said with a sigh as she laid her head against my chest.
"What are you thinking about, love?" I asked.
"Nothing, just a lot of things on my mind." She answered.
"Do you wanna talk about it, somewhere private?" I offered.
"Maybe later." Bella said. "For now, I want to enjoy today with you and everyone else." She said with a smile.
"Whatever you say." I said, kissing her forehead as I looked around to see how everyone is having a blast, whether it's playing videogames or just chitchatting amongst others. I even saw Renesmee playing with Fluff as Jacob plays along.
"Okay, I think that's enough videogames for today." Alice announced as she came over to us. She then whispered something to Bella causing her to chuckle. I wonder what that was about. "How about we do some karaoke?"
"Uh hold on," Emmett said and then pulled out a fifty dollar bill. "Here Nessie," My sister happily took it causing me to chuckle. "Hell yeah! Let's get this party started!" He said excited as I helped set up the karaoke machine to the sound system.
"Shall we introduced our friends how we do things here?" Jane asked.
"What's that?" Bella asked.
"A heckling challenge," Jessica explained. "You have to try your best to sing through the song while others try to throw you off by heckling you. In this case, we're throwing popcorn at each other." She said showing the two bowls of popcorn that was made. "The more you screw up your performance, you'll likely lose."
"Well in that case, Renesmee better bring out the swear jar because it's going to be one hell of a heckling war." Rosalie said, with a wicked grin on her face as she held out a dollar for my sister. Renesmee had an excited look on her face as she took the dollar from Rosalie and then pulled out an empty jar.
"My tenth jar!" She said proudly as she put two of the bills she got. Don't even ask.
"Hey, how about we do boys versus girls?" Heidi suggested causing my sister to be excited. "We heckle you guys and you heckle us." She smirked.
"Hey that's not fair!" Demetri complained. "There's like nine of you girls and eight of us guys! Plus you get a talented singer there." He pointed.
"Oh what? You're afraid to lose to a little girl, are you?" Jessica smirked as she presented Renesmee who smiled big. Uh-oh!
"We accept!" I quickly said before Demetri could set himself up for another trap to lose more money to Jessica.
"Alright, I say I go first! And I know just the song to start this party!" Emmett said as he took the mic and searched through the list until he found the song to sing along.
"Oh no," Victoria groaned as the music plays causing most of us to laugh.

"You suck Emmett!" Jane yelled as she gave my sister a dollar while chucking some popcorn at him. Emmett wasn't fazed but instead he caught it in his mouth and swallowed it in between songs causing us to laugh. Bella came over and sat on my lap.
"What, you don't wanna join in on the competition?" I teased causing Bella to giggle.
"I'd rather be in the audience for once." Bella said. "Besides, this is just too funny to watch coming from Emmett."
"I won't complain." I smiled as I wrapped my arms around her while watching Emmett continue singing. How he performs is funnier than how he sounds.

As Emmett was singing, ignoring his best of the heckling from the girls (Renesmee continues to take more money from them), as the guys cheered him on, we were all so engross with having fun until a small crash was made causing us to look until we saw one of the lamp post in the room was on the floor laying near the foot of the person standing near it. Are you fucking kidding me?! I thought as the music was stopped.
"You lost?" Demetri asked Mike in a "Are you that stupid?" tone as he got up and went over to Mike.
I don't fucking believe this! What the fuck is Mike even doing here? I swear, if he's here to give me more shit than he has done, he's gonna get more than a black eye!
Mike had his hand against the wall, leaning on it as he pushes passed Demetri and walks his way towards us. Or should I say stumbled his way.
"Edward," Mike said, roughly shaking my shoulder as he passes me, causing me to flinch as if he had something contagious. I quickly pulled Bella close to me, embracing my arms around her protectively when Mike sat down in front of us because there is no one way in hell I'm letting Mike near Bella. He looked worse than before as the clothes he still wears looked so dirty and his hair was a mess. He even started to grow a small beard. "Listen," He said as he was sounding like shit like he just woke up. "I wish… I wish none of that had ever happened to you, Edward."
Is he for real? That's the shittiest excuse of an apology I have ever heard. All that earned Mike a glare from me. However, something caught my attention as I caught a whiff that stood out more than the stench from Mike having not being able to shower in weeks.
"You're drunk?" I asked him in disbelief. Of all the stupid things Mike has done, this is by far the stupidest that makes him fucking stupid. Taking a closer look at Mike, his skin looks clammy than how he usually looks of his pale skin, his eyes are bloodshot and the way he's trying to maintain sitting up straight, he must be that drunk.
"Just… how can I get you to stop hating me?" Mike pleaded, all slurred, as I just stared at him. Hating him? Hate is an understatement. Why would I stop hating on the guy who I never liked since kindergarten and for almost ruining my life and future?!
That's when Heidi spoke. "Mike, you should really go." She said with disgust.
"Yeah, can't you take a hint?" Jessica asked.
Mike looked to see all of us staring at him. I saw Jacob having Renesmee in his arms protectively while she was holding Fluff as he and the others were giving the same look I was giving to him. Mike looked like he was losing a battle. A battle he never stood a chance.
"Just… chew me out, beat my ass, bite my head off, I don't care! Just tell me, please!" Mike pleaded in frustration. Before I could say anything,
"You must be Mike." Bella said. Mike turned to her when she spoke and he looked like he was in a presence of a goddess judging by his face due to him being a fan of her. "The one and only Mike Newton, who thought it was smart of him to deal with one of the most sleaziest paparazzi in the business to try and lie to the public about Edward in attempts to ruin his life, and my relationship with him." She said as she gently got out of my arms and I was worried when she started walking over to him, and got down on one knee until she was level to his face.
"And why is that?" She asked him sternly. "Was it because you don't like him? Were you trying to sabotage his life? Was it to make you feel good about yourself? Feel like a big man now? What kind of man think it's okay to ruin another man's life by slandering him with lies to the public? Especially coming from my so called fans who didn't approve of Edward at first. What you did to Edward was unforgivable as you not only hurt him, his family and friends, but me as well. Because you tried to take away the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I most certainly will never forgive you for what you've done.
And I've heard all about you. And I also remember you when we first met back at the championship game where you claimed that you'll be leading that team to victory. Don't get your hopes up as if you're reliving a good moment, because all you did was being a bad teammate and trying to put the spotlight all on yourself only. I didn't want to say this to you because I'm too nice of a person, but after what you did today, that nice girl you met is long gone.
You wanted to ask me out, in hoping you dream of us to be some sort of star couple. Sorry to break it to you, Mike, but I would never date someone who is self-centered and narcissistic, who only talks about himself, has no understand of boundaries and who only thinks of himself as he does things to get their way. The reason why I chose to give Edward a chance is because he cares about me, and only me. He doesn't care about my fame or the money. He doesn't talk about my life as a celebrity. He doesn't use me for personal gain. He treats me as if I'm just an ordinary girl with an ordinary life. And he shows me that life isn't how it always seems. That's why I love him so much.
And another thing, Mike. You stated that you're a fan of me. Let me tell you something. My fans are known to be kind and loving, who are to be accepted for who they are and not to be someone they're not. And not to mention that they treat each other with kindness. The way I see how you are, you show no quality of what Little Swans are. You are no fan of mine." She said.
At those words, Mike just sat there looking shattered as Bella got up and came back to me, sitting on my lap.
"Edward… Bella… please." Mike pleaded, looking like a little boy who gotten himself in a timeout.
I just stared at Mike before turning my head. "Emmett, you get a do-over on your performance." I said.
"You got it!" Emmett said as he took the mic and selected a different song, and started singing along. With that, we all watched Emmett, forgetting all about Mike. As if he was never in this room.
Seth's POV
I just sat and watch as while everyone was watching Emmett sing, Mike just sat there looking defeated while they all ignored him, as if he never existed. Honestly, I do feel bad for the guy. Don't get me wrong, he was an asshole for what he did to Edward and Bella and I never liked him, but I can't say I don't feel sorry for him. I mean he got kicked out of his parent's place and has nowhere to go and no one to go to. All his friends abandoned him so he's all alone doing who knows what he's been doing these last few weeks.
And now he's here all drunk and apparently after Bella told him off, pretty much breaking his heart, Mike looked like he was admitting defeat since neither Edward nor Bella accepted his apology. I watch Mike as he sat there until he got up, and stumble his way towards the door of the media room. But then I saw Mike stop when he was at the door by the table stand for some reason, and then he just picked up Alec's car keys before he exited the room causing my eyes to widen.
Oh no! I thought as I looked to see no one notices what just happened. They just ignored Mike like he was never here. Well maybe they don't like Mike, but I don't hate him enough to just ignore him and sit by. I quickly got up and ran out of the room and then out the front door. I looked around to find Mike stumbling his way until he approaches Alec's car.
"Mike!" I called out as I saw him opening the car door and getting in the driver's seat. "Mike, what are you doing?" I asked as I ran up to him.
"You guys don't want me here, I'm leaving." Mike said as he closed the door where the window was halfway opened. No! I thought, worriedly. Getting pulled over by my sister for drunk driving and auto theft are the least of his worries.
"Come on, Mike, you're drunk! Alright?" I begged him. "The next thing you know is y-you're in jail, the hospital or the morgue!"
"Who the fuck cares?!" Mike snapped and he then rolled up the window. Crap!
"Alec, Alec!" I called.
Edward's POV
Bella and I were hugging when the music stopped playing suddenly, again, and instead it was replaced by barking.
"Fluff, what's wrong?" Bella asked as Fluff was barking while facing my sister.
"Maybe she needs to go take a piss?" Emmett guessed as Bella came over to Fluff.
"No, Fluff wouldn't go barking like that to go do her business." Victoria said.
"I think Fluff is trying to tell us something." Renesmee said. "What is it, Fluff?" She asked as Fluff was jumping up and down. What could Fluff be trying to say?
"Hang on!" Jacob said, holding out a hand. "Do you guys hear something?"
Bella stopped Fluff from barking as we listen in on what Jacob's hearing. There was nothing, except there was a faint call.
"Alec!"
"Hey, where's Seth?" Jane asked and I looked to see that Seth wasn't here.
Alec got up and ran out of the room.
"Oh hell no!" We heard him say. "Mike!"
We were all confused as we all started running out of the room, following the commotion from outside the front door. You have got to be kidding me! I thought as I came out to what I saw. Behind me were a lot gasps and cries of "Oh shit!" and "Damn!"
"Mike, get out of the car! Get out of the car now!" Alec said as he ran up to his car where Mike is in. Oh no way Mike is that fucking stupid to go off driving while he's drunk. Alec wrenched the door open but Mike yanked it back shut and apparently locked it as Alec couldn't open the door again. "Dude, Mike!"
"Mike, get out of the car!" Ben said as he came up to the car.
"Come on!" Alec said as Demetri came up with them.
"Mike, don't be a fucking idiot!" He said as I heard the engine starting.
"Mike, no!"
"MIKE!" My friends yelled out as the car started to move without an ounce to start slowly causing screams to be heard as the tires screeched when the car stopped right in front of me where it was inches away from hitting me.
Okay, what I did was probably more stupid than Mike's. I thought as I stood in front of the car with my arms folded, my heart was beating pretty fast at the adrenaline rush while catching my breath.
The engine of the car was still running as Mike rolled down the window and stuck his head out.
"Move Cullen, I mean it!" He said.
"Look, I don't feel sorry for you. If that's what you're asking, okay?" I asked.
"I just want my life back." Mike slurred.
"You mean the life where go treating people who you think are below you like shit? How you go on telling stories that aren't even close to being true? When you lied to the media about me? How you almost got me and my sister killed?!" I said in outrage.
"T-That wasn't supposed to happen." Mike said weakly, shaking his head.
"No it wouldn't had happened if you weren't such a fucking stuck up, grade A prick!" I snapped. "You need to get your head out of your ass and understand that not everything is all about you! The world doesn't revolve around you, Mike! People never liked you even before because you tried to make things all about yourself as if you're some big celebrity. You're not! You're just an ordinary guy like the rest of us just trying to go through life. Life where it doesn't just go your way like they just magically handed it to you. You have to earn it! Earn it by thinking about others beside yourself and work your way up for it! Maybe then you wouldn't be ending up on the streets alone.
But you know what? Why the hell do I even bother telling you this? It wouldn't matter to you anyway. You'd just make excuses and put the blame on others but yourself. Just go drive off a fucking bridge for all I care. I don't. You're dead to me already." I said as Mike stared at me, his lips trembling.
And with that, I walked away, never looking back at the guy who is just nothing.
"Keys." I heard Alec demanded for his keys from Mike as I went up to the others.
"Here sis," I said to Renesmee, handing her a ten dollar bill which she silently accepts.
"Edward," Bella said she dragged me into the house and then started slapping my chest. "You, are, a, complete, idiot!" She said, slapping me with each word. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Are you really trying to kill me here?" She asked, sounding very pissed.
"Sorry, I just… don't know what I was thinking." I said, sighing in frustration as everyone came inside after us. "Mike really knows how to piss me off."
"Yeah and look where that gotten you." Bella said causing me to be annoyed now.
"Look, I had to do something to get Mike's head on straight for his actions." I defended.
"Still, that wasn't okay of you to just throw yourself out there like that. You could've end up in the hospital again." Bella said.
"Okay, okay," Jasper said before I could say anything as he came up and placed a hand on both our shoulders. "The important thing now is that Edward wasn't hurt and that Mike guy will leave us all alone for good. Right?" He turned Alec and Seth.
"Done deal." Alec said, holding up his car keys. "We warned him to be gone by the time we're about to head out or else Leah will come by." He said as Seth nodded his head.
"Then let's forget about it and just enjoy hanging out." Jasper smiled as he patted both of our shoulders. With that, everyone agreed and went back into the media room, except for Bella and I. Sometimes you don't see it because they're not together, but I feel like Jasper is being a lot like my dad.
"I swear, Edward, you really are a piece of work." Bella sighed.
"Well, what did you expect from an ordinary guy?" I asked, giving out a small smile.
Bella slowly smiled. "You're far more than ordinary." She said and gave me a quick kiss on the lips. "You're amazing, but also stupid." I rolled my eyes as I took Bella's hand and we walked together back into the media room.
"I think we should just take a break from everything for now." Angela suggested once we all settled in and got comfortable.
"Yeah, too much of that drama we've seen today." Jane said.
"And I thought Hollywood is where all the drama is at." Rosalie said.
"So that guy out there is the one who tried to make you look bad by saying you cheated on Bella?" Victoria asked me.
"Unfortunately." I said with a sigh.
"And he was your backup quarterback?" Emmett asked in disbelief.
"Sadly, we never understood why he was on the team in the first place." Demetri said, shaking his head.
"What a marshmallow." Jacob commented with a snort. "Can't believe he had the balls to show his face in your house, Edward. What was he even thinking?"
"Nothing. Nothing at all." Jessica said. "But I am curious at where he got the liquor if he's not even old enough to buy them."
"I think the bigger question is who would be okay to share a drink with him." Ben said. "I mean, he's the most hated man in the city now."
No one had an answer to it. I guess we'll never know, but it doesn't matter. I don't give a shit about Mike no more. He's done for and out of my life. Hopefully for good.
"Okay, how about we talk about something more positive?" Alice said as she started to look excited. "I think we should talk about some big news to share with Edward and his friends."
"Ooh!" Jessica said excitedly as she whipped out her phone so fast, nearly hitting Demetri in the face. "Give us the details! Tell us! Tell us! Tell us!" She said like she was on the edge of seat, which she actually is.
"Keep it down a notch, Jess." Demetri said in annoyance. "Just tell us before she loses it." He begged Alice.
"Well, let's start with how you all got your tickets to the Billboard Music Awards!" Alice said excitedly.
"How could we forget?" Jane asked. "You even added VIP passes."
"Yeah, I nearly wet myself when I opened my letter seeing them." Ben said.
"Well those are not only to get you good seats to join us at the awards show, but to attend the after party when the award show is over." Alice said.
There was silence.
"Um, do you mean we all will be at a party? Where all the celebrities will be at?" Heidi asked slowly.
"Well, those who will be attending at the award show, yes." Jasper chuckled.
"Are we… meeting them as well?" Jane asked with a gulp.
"If you get the chance to, sure." Rosalie laughed softly.
"Um, can you excuse us?" Alec asked.
"J-Just for a moment." Seth said as those two, plus Demetri and Ben got up.
"We should…" Heidi said.
"Just in case…" Angela said as they, along with Jane and Jessica also got up and followed the boys, walking out of the room, leaving Renesmee, Bella and her friends confused while I tried my best not to crack a smile.
At that moment, there was screaming. That's when I couldn't help myself but laugh as my friends could be heard screaming with excitement to know that they will get the experience of Hollywood life with me. We all just sat and listen on my friends celebrating until they stopped.
"We're back." Demetri said as he and everyone quickly returned and returned to where they sat, acting all cool as if nothing had happened causing me to chuckle.
"How are you not reacting like they did just now?" Bella asked me with a laugh.
I just shrugged, though I was embarrassed when I answered. "I already had a freak out moment when you first came to my house." I said causing Bella to giggle.
"Anyway, so the Billboard Music Awards is in the end of this month! Ladies, don't worry. I talked to Victoria Beckham and showed her some designs that will look great for you all and has gotten to hook you all up on the dresses and she's meeting us in Seattle! And it's all taken care financially so there's no need to pay for it." Alice said happily just as Jane squeaked and fainted to the floor.
"Ah jeez," Seth said as he got Jane to wake up and back to sit next to him.
"Alright, I think we should move on to some other big news." Emmett said with a laugh.
"Wait, that's not the big news?!" Jane asked in shock.
"Not exactly," Jacob said, playfully rolling his eyes. "How about where Bella will be performing there, live?" He said, causing my friends and I to do a double take. Another live performance from Bella? "She's performing her new single."
"Wait, what?! What new single?! I didn't hear anything about that!" Jessica said in astonishment.
Bella just chuckled. "It's a new song I've been working on over the last two months." She smiled. "I figured it's best to announce my new single by debuting it live for the first time. So you'll all get front seats to see me perform and be the first to hear it along with millions of others." She said as Renesmee's face lit up while my friends and I had excited looks on our faces. Damn, I get to see Bella perform in person, again?! Talk about fucking awesome this trip will be!
"Oh this will definitely top off our senior year!" Demetri said excitedly. "You know, Mike should've stayed behind to hear this as we could've rubbed it in his face."
"Demetri, that's mean." Angela said. "We should be rubbing his face when he sees us all on TV if he's able to." She added causing me to snicker but feel smug about that.
"I just can't wait!" Jessica said as she started typing things up in her phone. "Don't worry, I'm only going to say that Bella will be performing. I want the fans to be in suspense until they hear your new song. I'm sure that will get the sales go skyrocketing!"
"I don't really care how well the song makes the sales, I wrote that song as a way to… express my new feelings." Bella said with a smile as I was curious and dying to know what that song is about.
"Well I can't wait to see you perform! And I can't wait for the Billboard Music Awards!" Jane said excitedly. "Ooh! Jacob, is Lizzie coming? I didn't get a chance for a picture with her back at Bella's birthday party."
Suddenly, Bella and her friends turned their heads towards Jacob, raising their eyebrows as Jacob scratched the back of his head while sighing. What's up with that? I thought.
"Actually," Jacob said. "Lizzie and I broke up. … We broke up since last December."
"WHAT?!" My friends and I asked in shock.
"Hang on, how did we not noticed this?!" Jessica asked as she was looking through her phone. "There hasn't been any reports about you two having problems in your relationship."
"Plus, both of your social medias still has all the photos posted of your two together dating all the way back. What exactly happened?" Jane asked as we were trying to figure out what went down and how not even the media got a whiff of it.
"It's a long story." Jacob said with a sigh. "Things haven't been going smoothly for us. Lizzie's been… difficult lately. I care about her, don't get me wrong, but I think it was just the best for us both. She on the other hand was in denial about it and tries to make me come back to her for the last few months. I tried to be nice to her about it, but I'm sure now it's going to be the whole he said she said. I tried to brush it off at the Grammys when people asked why I wasn't with her but I guess it's time to tell the truth."
"Bottom line, all of Jacob's fans will be pleased that he's single." Victoria said, giggling as Jacob rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, like they haven't harassed Lizzie enough back then." He said.
"Well I am really how things ended for you, Jacob." Angela said, sadly as I feel bad for him. Jacob's a great guy. It's hard to see how girls could treat him that way.
Jacob just shrugged. "It's all good. For me at least. For now, I'm just trying to figure what to do with myself later on in my career." He said.
"Hey, you do what is right for you. By then, you'll find a girl who will treat you right." I said.
"Thanks man." Jacob smiled to me. "Okay, enough about me. I believe there is one more news we'd like to share. Or should I say someone has something to share." He said, grinning towards Bella causing her to have her head down.
"Ooh! What is it?" Jessica asked excitedly.
"Do we have to?" Bella asked.
"Bella, they totally need to know!" Alice said.
"Girl, there's no point in hiding it." Victoria said.
"Yeah, people are going to find out eventually." Jacob said.
"Go on, tell them." Rosalie smiled.
"Trust us, they'll love it." Jasper said.
"Yeah, come on Bellsie! I wanna see Edward's reaction! OW!" Emmett cried when Rosalie and Jasper smacked him in the head causing me to be confused. My reaction for what?
"Alright," Bella said, taking a deep breath before she lifted her head up. "I… I decided to… enroll to take classes… in college."
The news took us all by surprised.
"Wait, seriously?!" Angela asked in shock.
"Yes," Bella slowly smiled. "I'm going to study English literature. I've been thinking about it a lot and I decided to expand my horizons into possibly learning more than what I already have. Who knows, it may help me one day if I were to say, produce a show. And plus, I wanted the experience of what you guys have. To be like you all and just live life as a college student." She said to me and my friends.
"Dude, that's awesome, Bella!" Ben said.
"Yeah! You'll do great there!" Angela said.
I took her hand as I pulled her for a hug. "I'm happy for you, love." I said as I kissed her head. "You'll do great." To think she actually considered my advice into actually taking a break from Hollywood and do other things I would do such as school. I couldn't be more proud of her.
"Bella," Alice said, giving her that look. "Come on," She said, causing me and my friends to be confused.
Bella sighed. "I… already got acceptance to a school… in Seattle." Cue the double take!
"Wait, Seattle? As in… the main campus of… UW?" Jane squeaked. No… no fucking way! My girlfriend has to be pulling my leg here. I must be punked!
"The school where you guys will all be going." Bella said causing my friends and I to let out excitement. "I won't join you until the winter quarter though due to my career but when the next year starts, that's when I'll be attending classes.
"No way! Bella's going to school with us!" Seth said as everyone else in the room was expressing their congrats to Bella.
I just sat there, smiling like a fool. It looks like I won't have to worry about long distance relationship for long.
Bella came over to me after everyone congratulated her. "I'd take that as you're happy about this?" She said, biting her lip.
"Are you kidding me? How could I not be? I'm just excited that we get to be together." I said to her happily.
"Me too. I can't wait until next year starts. Plus, I'll get to be with you." Bella smiled. "And I can't wait to see you play on the field." She giggled.
I just chuckled. "You going to college with me is just the cherry on top." I said causing Bella to giggle before we shared a kiss. I just can't wait for next year.
