Chapter 3
"Hey." Jordan said as she entered. "I brought dinner."
"Bless you." Woody was genuinely grateful, having had his fill of hospital food.
She came over to give him a kiss before starting to unpack the food.
Jordan could tell Woody was nervous.
"Woody, what's up?"
"Jordan…I…"
"Woody, please just tell me."
"They're getting ready to transfer me to the rehab center. After that… I guess I'm trying to figure out where I go from there. My lease is almost up and.. " He trailed off, unsure how to finish his thought.
"What do you think we're doing here, Woody?" She gestured between them.
Woody wasn't sure how to reply. Jordan continued.
"I guess we should discuss this." Jordan stated. Woody looked at her a bit sheepishly.
"I meant what I said about getting through this together."
"I didn't know if that meant living together.,"
"Why didn't you ask me?"
"I didn't want to spook you." He said honestly.
"Fair enough. I guess we should have talked about it before now. What do you want?"
"I want us to be together, but I don't want to move too fast. You have to tell me if this is too much."
"After everything, living together is not nearly as scary a concept as it once was. I'm not running from this." she answered seriously.
"Good."
"You do bring a certain charm to the occasion, Farm Boy."
"Farm boy? Is that all I am?" He asked with a smile.
"Woodrow, are you asking me to qualify our relationship?"
"We've never fit into a box before, humor me?" He gave her a smile. She huffed and sat down on the bed facing him.
"You, Woody, are my boyfriend."
"Jordan, are you blushing?" He asked teasingly.
"No." She answered as she buried her face into his shoulder.
