May and Alex's interviews written by Zoryan El Muerto
Persephone and Kaito's interviews written by FreshmEn
The guitar riff we all know and love from Total Drama's aftermath specials played once again for this remake of the hit series, but this time the logo was labeled 'TDSA' instead of the usual 'TDA', what didn't change, however, was the endings of each elimination being played one after the other.
"I know." Alex sighed as he walked away from May and towards the loser floater.
"That's... fair..." May simply stated as she hopped into the floater, not bothering to make a fit of her elimination.
Persephone struggled with the interns as she was dragged to the floater, "WHAT!? DON'T YOU DARE IGNORE ME!" Persephone yelled at King, who simply ignored her.
"Yeah and I just- AH!" Kaito was cut off as the floater took him away.
After all the elimination clips were played, the screen cut back to the letters from before, now with the subtitle 'Total Drama Sakamannano Aftermath'.
Intro Start
Multiple cameras popped out from surfboards, tiki torches, statues of Drew, and other objects on the island. The camera then flew past Drew, Pamela, and Hack, with the former two arguing about something and the latter drinking from a barrel of rum.
"Dear mom and dad I'm doing fine, You guys are on my mind." The Camera went up the dead volcano, revealing Kaito setting up some of his stargazing equipment, and Vanessa helping him out.
"You asked me what I wanted to be, and now I think the answer is plain to see." The camera jumped down into the volcano, where Timothy was listening in on Kaito and Van's conversation with a radio. In addition to Timothy being there, Wane was checking the cages of shame for any lost coins or valuables.
"I wanna be famous." Wane dusted off one of the cages, revealing that Alex somehow got trapped inside. Wane tipped the cage over and kicked Alex out, before hopping inside of it to search for valuables.
"I wanna live close to the sun." The camera then made a cut to inside the mess hall, where Kodi was teaching Will how to play Chambers and Beasts at a table, with Will shaking his head and pretending to understand how to play the game.
"So pack your bags, 'cause I've already won." The camera moved outside where Melissa and Beatrice were chatting together.
"Everything to prove, nothing in my way." To the left of Melissa and Beatrice, May was walking until Paige jumped out of the bushes, scaring the daydreamer.
"I'll get there one day." The camera moved towards the nearby Hilahala hut, where Wyatt and Flora were both petting Spirit's belly.
"Cause I wanna be famous." On the other side of the area where the Haaheo mansion was, Klaas and King were playing a match of poker, with almost all of the chips being on King's side.
"Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na." Moving away from the hut and the mansion, Persephone and Sasha could be seen arguing about something.
"I wanna be, I wanna be famous." The camera jumped over to the beach of the island, where an oil-covered Brandon could be seen fixing up an old boat. Behind him, Elizabeth was pretending to be a scarecrow.
"I wanna be, I wanna be famous." Finally, the camera moved over to Becky, who was writing down song lyrics in a notepad. Becky turned around and noticed the camera, elbowing it to the ground for privacy. The shot was then cut to Buck, Mitch, Carlton, and Billy, who all set the camera down for the final shot, as they got the camera in position they ran behind Drew, causing the camera to flash and take a photo of all of everyone previously seen. The screen moved back to show the photo on a postcard that read 'Aloha from Hawaii!" with whistling accompanying it.
Intro End
After the intro for the aftermath, we open up to a beachside stage with a row of applauding fans on each side. The set had a Hawaiian floral couch, a shad carpet, a glass table with coasters and drinks, a leather reclining chair, and an arch made from two surfboards with a giant TV screen behind the couch. In addition to the center area with all of the host's stuff, there were two booths, one for each side of the couch and chair.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we welcome you live to the Total Drama: Sakamannano Island Aftermath!" A voice on a loudspeaker called, "And here are your hosts, Alex Parker!" The klutz, who was wearing a shirt labeled 'Sakamannano Island', walked on stage, only to trip on the table leg and fall right onto the couch.
"Ow." Alex groaned in annoyance as he dusted himself off, "Nice to see you all."
"And May Summers!" the crowd applauded, for about 10 seconds and May had yet to appear.
Just then May, who was wearing the same Saka shirt as Alex, ran on stage and sat by Alex, "Sorry, I... conked out while I was in the bathroom." May explained, before realizing her mic was on and everyone heard her, "Probably... shouldn't have said... that." She embarrassedly giggled with a blush. May coughed into her hand, "But yeah... like the loudspeaker said... This is the Sakamannano Aftermath, where those who were thrown off the island can give their thoughts on their experience on the show... talk with fans, and... more." May spoke to the audience, who clapped in response.
"You may be wondering, 'Alex, why are you and May acting as hosts?'" Alex explained, "Well, Drew figured since we lasted about as long as an average divas match in the early 2010s, his words not mine, that we might as well make ourselves useful and we should be the aftermath hosts." The wrestling marks in the audience lightly chuckled, "I don't watch wrestling so I'm not sure if I should be offended. You know, I wanted to call Will after I got eliminated, just to help him deal with my being eliminated, but Drew wouldn't let me."
"Anyway... we have... quite the lineup for today. We have our first two guests making their appearance..." May talked as the TV displayed the image of their first guest, "Persephone D'Armours, known for her heated rivalry with Sasha and her... inability to get King to acknowledge her no matter how hard she tried." May let out a deep yawn after speaking.
Alex then talked up their other guest, "Kaito Kiyora, the soul astrologer in a family of entertainers-" The crowd roared in excitement at Kaito being brought up, "...Who was convinced into joining this show by his sister Asuka Kiyora-" The crowd again roared in cheers at the name drop, Alex waited till they calmed down before continuing, "Right, he'll be here as well."
"And throughout we'll be answering calls from all of our... viewers at home." May stated, "But first, we're gonna start off with..." May yawned before Alex shook her out of her near semi-conscious state, "a little... video we made to describe our times here... Drew said everyone had to do it or whatever..."
"Yeah," Alex turned on the t.v., "Since I was eliminated first, I'll go first."
A video started with Alex in a makeup booth as he store blankly at the camera, "How would I say my time on Total Drama was? I don't know, it was fine, I guess." Alex shrugged, "Not really much happened while I was here. Though... I am pretty concerned about Will, I just watched the surfing episode and... I've never seen him act like this before..." Alex stopped briefly, "But... yeah, my time was fine."
The crowd clapped as Alex began to speak again, "Now that that's over, we'll be moving onto the Q&A. If you have any questions just step right up to the designated microphones at the bottoms of the stands." Alex pointed to the mics in front of each bleacher, "Just walk up to the mic to ask a question, and it looks like we have our first asker." Alex stated as a guy walked up to the mic.
The guy fumbled nervously, "Okay, so Alex... If I were to hit Will, would you feel the pain? I mean, you are twins?" (This question is brought to you by lordgemini)
Alex groaned with an eye roll, "You know, if I had a nickel for every time I've been asked I'd be a millionaire. But no, the whole twins feeling each other's pain thing is just an urban myth."
"You sure...?" May asked.
Alex crossed his arms, "Believe me, I've been through it all. Twisted ankles, cramps, stubbed toes, falling on my bum, you name it. Not once did Will feel any of it, one time I accidentally stepped on someone's skateboard and rode it down the stairs where I landed on my neck at a weird angle," Alex explained, May cringing as she heard the story, "I survived, had to wear a neck brace for a month, and Will showed no signs of any injuries. So yeah, that twins feeling each other's pain myth... totally busted."
"You... poor thing." May patted Alex's chest.
Another person walked up to the mic stand, "Alex, I wonder... do you ship Willodi? If not what's your favorite Will ship?" (Also brought to you by lordgemini)
"Willow-what?" Alex questioned.
"She's asking if you think Will and Kodi make a cute... couple." May told him, "I've looked over the episodes since my elimination and when I wasn't... dazing off, I have noticed that they do seem pretty close."
"Oh yeah, Will did have a thing for the kind nerdy types." Alex said, "Anyways, Will is a smart boy and can make his own decisions about who to date. If he goes for Kodi than I'll be happy for him."
"Awwwwwww, so..." May's zoning out was interrupted by a fan's air horn, "Supportive." May finished as she shook herself awake, annoyed at the loud noise.
"I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid to get himself eliminated too soon." Alex said as he grabbed a cup of juice and took a sip.
"Oh hey, another question for you Alex." May pointed to a guy walking up to the Alex mic.
The guy grabbed the mic, "Alex, with how many bumps you take, you think you can be a stunt double?"
"A stunt double, me?" Alex pointed to himself, "Unlikely."
"I don't know, you do take more pratfalls than a... slapstick comedy film," May told him. "I think you'd be great at it."
Alex hummed as he stroked his chin, "I guess it wouldn't hurt to give it try, I've already failed a lot of jobs Will tried to get us to do together because of my clumsiness. And I've already broken all the bones in my body, so what the heck?"
"Good for you, Alex..." May cheered as she patted his knee.
"Oh me next!" A man excitedly ran up to the microphone, "Alex I was wondering, how far do you think you'd make it if Will was eliminated instead of you? I think you could make the merge."
Alex crossed his arms, "Eh, I doubt that, my constant slipping and tripping would just annoy my teammates, and they'd vote me out anyways."
May let out a long yawn, "Well... you'd probably beat me at least... so that counts for something..."
"Yeah, but, as soon as we lose again, it's me out." Alex sighed, "Next question?"
A man in basic attire stepped up to the microphone, "Hey Alex, obviously, you already know that you leaving affected Will heavily, but do you know how it affected him exactly? If so, how do you feel about it." (From Nobody245)
Alex stopped, "No... I... don't know how it affected Will, actually, as I said in my video, I've never seen him act like this before..." Alex gripped his fist hard, "I'lm actually fairly worried about him."
"I'm... hoping he can get over it..." May tried to cheer Alex up.
"Yeah... me too," Alex replied.
"Hey... don't try to worry yourself about it..." May looked around, "Anyone else have any questions for... Alex?"
Nobody else stepped up to the microphone after May asked, signaling that Alex's questions were over.
Alex looked up as he turned the t.v. back on, "Well if nobody else has anything to say, we'll move onto May."
The camera opened up with May in the exact same makeup booth as Alex in the previous video, except she was staring blankly at the camera.
"May!" A voice shouted from off-screen.
"Oh!" May jolted up, "How was... my time on Total Drama... it was... good enough, I suppose..." May rocked her head back and forth, "I guess it sucks... to be eliminated early, but, you know... that's the game..." May shrugged, "Not really much else to say here..." The video ended right after May said that.
As soon as May's video ended, a woman stepped up to the question mic stand, "May was it, I don't mean to intrude but... do you suffer from a form of narcolepsy? It might explain the constant daydreams." the audience murmured to themselves, thinking it would be a likely explanation. (From Alexneushoorn)
"Wow, that's a... really big question." May twiddled her thumbs, "I mean I guess it could be that; I never had it looked at since I had a GPA to worry about... I think it's fairly unlikely... however... seeing as I don't suffer from hallucinations, sleep paralysis, or muscle tone loss. Maybe... I should see a specialist after the show about it..."
"I know how you feel May." Alex told the daydreamer, "My parents took me to a trainer to help my balance, believe me I was way more of a klutz when I was kid then I currently am. I still slip and trip every now and then, but not as hard as before. Next question."
A kid wearing a lab coat walked up to the mic stand. After lowering the mic, the kid asked "Ms. Summers, if I may. Could you share the longest duration you've remained awake in between mini rem cycles?" (From lordgemini)
May blinked, "Um, I believe it was at summer camp one day. I managed to go about five hours and thirty-seven minutes before I dazed into a daydream in the middle of crafting a windchime."
"Wow, the longest I went without hurting myself is 45 minutes," Alex stated. Alex then gave a slight smile, "Sometimes it feels like the universe is out for me or something, I dunno." Alex joked.
May then saw a teenage boy go up to the stand, "Hey May, I was wondering. When your in a really deep state of sleep, do you find yourself in a different location then before?"
May hummed, both in thought and in drowsiness before a beach ball bonked her on the head. She shook herself awake, "Well, there was this one time I was in the middle of a physics test. I was in a daze for 3 minutes and when I woke up, I was at the circus. On a tight rope...on a unicycle."
Alex blinked, "How did..."
"I still got an A on that test." May let out a chuckle, "Though... that circus memory might have just been a dream... who really knows..."
After May finished her sentence, a tall man walked up to the mic and grabbed it, "Do you remember anyone from your team? Or from the game in general? Like, did anyone catch your eye?" The man asked. (Again from lordgemini)
May suddenly shot up after being asked the question, "Alex Parker, Beatrice Kilmer, Brandon McCallister, Elizabeth Mikeston, Flora Saphoreilla, King Prince, Kodiawyn Pierzina, Melissa Arroyo, Timothy Francis Hale, and Will Parker."
"How did you-" Alex started but was cut off by May.
May kept staying up straight, "Alex fell exactly twenty-seven times during his time on the show, on and off-screen, Beatrice adopted a crab named Sebastian who was impaled by Persephone D'Armours, Brandon was originally part of the Chickens and was moved to our team after King played the team swap idol, even then he still keeps good relations with his former teammates, Elizabeth is the captain of the team, but also sometimes talks to crows in her spare time, Flora is quite possibly the sweetest person I've ever met, King may have an ego, but he seems to be able to back it up and do much more, Kodi, just like Flora, is very sweet, but he also has a knack for wearing knight armor, Melissa is Elizabeth's closest helper and takes the place of co-leader, Timothy has taken exactly seventeen secrets so far, not counting the seven that were promised to him the last episode, and Will seems to have a soft spot for Kodi, seeing as he's the only he opens up to."
Alex's jaw dropped, "You... wow... I... how?"
May slouched over, "It was... just a few basic observations... no big deal..."
"Yeah... sure." Alex turned over to see a girl wearing a sweater with hearts on it stepped up to the mic.
"Nyohoho!" The girl grabbed the mic, "I couldn't help but notice May, after Alex was eliminated you said he was cute, is this a sign that you two are inevitably going to date and get married? It is isn't it!?" The girl pulled out a notepad, "Nyohoho! I'd better get my notes to write down everything you say here!" [1]
May blushed, "I... didn't mean it in a romantic way..." May rubbed the back of her head, "I guess it was more of a pity way..." May turned over to her co-host, "Uh... no offense..."
"Don't worry about it." Alex stretched back, "As you can see, there are no romantic feelings here. So there's your question answered."
"Yeah..." May looked away for a second before looking back.
"Nyoooo! My ship will be right eventually! Mark my words!" The girl shouted as she left the stand.
"I wonder who that was." Alex shook his head as he looked back at the mic, "Oh well, it looks like someone else wants to ask a question anyways."
A fairly plain-looking boy spoke into the mic, "Um yeah... do you think it was a mistake for your team to vote you out?" (From Nobody245)
May shrugged, "Meh... not really."
"Yeah, we don't exactly care about being eliminated." Alex looked at the person asking the question with a bored expression, "If you want a fun answer for that, just ask Persephone." Alex told the boy as he walked away, "Any other questions?" Nobody else stepped up after Alex asked.
Alex then turned to the camera, "Okay, before we head into our next segment. Let's give it up for our sponsor today, Braycon." Alex announced as the screen displayed a pair of wireless earbuds. "Do we have to do this bit?" Alex questioned May.
"Just... stick to the script..." May whispered back, before turning to the camera "How... many times have you wanted to listen to music, but your... headphones are tied up in an impossible... knot?" May holds up a rolled-up ball of headphone wires, "And you spend about two hours trying to untangle them, then afterward the wires get caught on something and pulled out the phone mid-song."
"A lot actually," Alex admitted.
"Well now you can say goodbye to all that with... Braycon's wireless earbuds..." May tossed away before pulling back her hair to reveal a pink colored pair of wireless earbuds, "With special gel tips that can cling themselves to any ear canal, you won't to worry about them falling out during your morning routine." May gave a second pair, in red, to Alex who puts them on and gets up and walks over to a bar area, nearly tripping on the carpet, "Like... making breakfast." Alex then pretended to cook with fake utensils, before picking up a plate of pancakes. Carefully making his way back, "Exercising." Alex sighed before hopping onto a treadmill.
He gulps before setting the treadmill to one, it starts and he carefully walks. May slightly urged him to faster, which he sighs before going up to two. May helped him get to three, and he began to lightly jog, "Woah... I never made it this far on this thing!" Alex laughed in glee. May then set it to twelve, which caused Alex to get rocketed off into a spread of pillows. Alex shook his head and noted what he was lying in.
"They even stay on if you happen to wipe out." May helped Alex up, "And with Bluetooth mic, you can even make calls." May makes a call on her earbud, "Two strawberry banana smoothies please." A stagehand brought them the smoothies, while Alex sips his smoothie May continues on, "With a... thirty-two-hour battery life and eight hours... play time you'll never be bored even if you're stranded in a... robo-shark's gullet in the middle of the ocean. All that and their half the price of any other premium audio brands, but they still sound just as good. I mean look at the reviews!" May showed the reviews on the Braycon website.
Alex then sighs before finishing off the plug, "And if you use the promo code, SAKAMANNANO you can get 25% off on your order on the Braycon site. Go to the Braycon website and use the promo code SAKAMANNANO, in all caps, for 25% off."
Maya sighed in relief, "Thank goodness I got through all that..."
"How did you know where to put the pillows?" Alex asked.
"It was a fairly simple calculation..." May yawned, "Anyways time for 'OWIE WOWIE' or as it was formerly known... 'That's Gonna Leave a Mark!'... don't ask me why Drew changed the name..."
The graphic for the segment pulled up on the monitor, showing a few different clips of injuries.
First, we saw one of Persephone's attempts at getting King's attention. Which involved the princess juggling bowling pins and pineapples while riding a unicycle, only to slip on a banana peel Wane threw on the floor and fall to the ground. She got hit in the head with each pin, and pineapple before falling unconscious. Worst part is... King didn't look her way once.
Secondly, Brandon was hanging out with Sasha in the Chicken's mansion. Only for the mechanic to get hit in the head by a flying vase, Sasha gasped and kneeled beside him as Timothy popped his head out and apologized while he threw another vase at Sasha.
The third clip showed Wyatt chasing Spirit during the hide and seek challenge, where Wyatt ended up getting clotheslined by a low hanging branch.
Next, we see that while the kids were in virtual reality, Melissa's real body ran into a lamp post which was followed by Klaas hitting his leg on a coffee table.
We then see one of Drew's matches where he was attempting a Stoney Abyss to MC Jock on the announcer table, only for the table to buckle underneath them.
Next clip was showing Timothy climbing up the chickens' mansion, the camera then panned up to see Becky cutting the rope with a knife. Causing Timothy to fall down with a very loud 'BANG'!
The last clip showed Alex walking down a pier, only to step onto a skateboard and wobbly rode it until he crashed into a cotton candy stand with his head stuck in the machine. He pulled his head up to show his head covered in a cotton candy cocoon.
"And that was today's showing of 'OWIE WOWIE', now it's time for our first contestant interview. Thank you to everyone who participated in today's audience questionnaire." Alex announced as an intern took the microphone away.
May stretched back, "Our first guest is a pro tennis player... has an older brother who she's beaten at everything, wanted King to acknowledge her as his superior... it's Persephone D'Armour-"
May was cut off by a bunch of fans roaring with cheers.
"QUEEN!" A fan yelled out as he held up a sign with a heart over Persephone's face.
"SASHA ROBBED HER!" A man wearing a shirt labeled 'Sasha Sucks' threw a can at the two aftermath hosts.
"BRING HER BACK!" A woman yelled, which caused a lot of the members of the crowd to yell 'yeah' in response.
Alex and May stared blankly at the crowd, "I did not think she was this popular." Alex blinked in response to the crowd.
May rubbed her eyes, "Me... neither..." May cleared her throat, "Please... calm yourselves... if you don't calm down Persephone won't be able to do her interview."
As soon as May said that to the crowd, everyone shut up, though the guy with the 'Sasha Sucks' shirt still threw another can at the hosts.
Alex sighed in annoyance, "Give it up for Persephone."
Persephone walked in from the left side of the set, which caused everyone in the audience to immediately start cheering for the princess.
"Hello, my loyal fans!" Persephone waved to the crowd, which caused even more applause, "And hello Alex and May, you look less appealing than the last time I saw you two. Persephone laughed as she sat down in the reclining chair, those shirts make you two look like peasants." The crowd laughed at the two aftermath hosts in response to Persephone's comment.
Alex rolled his eyes in response to Persephone, "Thanks." Alex replied bluntly.
"Let's... just move onto the video and the questions." May turned on the t.v. screen to play Persephone's video.
Persephone tapped her fingers together in the makeup booth, "I would say that my time on this 'show' was both good and bad, good because I showed the fools on my team how to actually get things done, but bad because I had to deal with a few imbeciles the whole way through, like King and Sasha." Persephone groaned, "I can't believe I wanted attention from that idiot." Persephone rolled her eyes, "But all in all, my time was fine while it lasted."
The crowd kept up their cheering after Persephone's video ended, which caused Persephone to smile and wave to the crowd, which only made them cheer louder.
"Can we just move onto questions already?" Alex took out a letter and ripped it open, "From MorbidGinger we have 'Considering you're better than King in every way and are the most iconic person to ever grace the Total Drama brand, why do you think your team made the wrong decision in voting you off?''
Persephone laughed, "Obviously my team made the wrong decision voting me off because they kept the two idiots who wouldn't listen to me the most over me, like really, Sasha is probably always flirting with Brandon on the other team, and King barely does anything in general." Persphone crossed her arms, "Like he does nothing for the whole cocktail challenge, but we're supposed to take him as this great teammate cause he waited for the end of it?" Persephone scoffed, "Clearly some of my teammates are really breaching the line between stupid and naive."
"I mean, you weren't exactly the nicest teammat-" Alex was cut off by a fan of Persephone's throwing a chair at him.
"Shut up!" The fan shouted at the klutz, who let out a weak 'ow' in response.
"Are you... ok?" May pulled Alex up, who rubbed his face.
Alex pulled his hand back to reveal that his face was fine, "Yeah, I take a lot of hits all the time, so it's no different from one of those."
Persephone turned to the crowd, "Are you all daft? What were you thinking? Alex could've seriously gotten hurt from that!" Persephone yelled at the crowd, who stayed silent.
"B-but-" A fan started, but Persephone cut them off.
"There's no excuse, if you really are my fans, then you will let me do my interview with Alex and May in peace!" Persephone glared at the crowd, which caused them to apologize profusely.
Alex looked at Persephone surprised, "Um, thanks for that? Anyways, the next question is from Alexneushoorn, if given the chance to compete on Total Drama again, what would you do differently from your run this season?"
"Clearly I'd have to perform even better than I already did," Persephone scoffed as if that answer was the most obvious thing in the world, "I'd also have to make sure I don't get placed on a team of idiots who don't appreciate good work again."
"That's... it?" May asked, "Nothing else?"
Persephone rolled her eyes, "Yes, my strategy should've been flawless, but I never took into account that my team would just be incompetent."
Alex sighed, "Ok... next up is a question from KadachiNova 'Who do you hate the most from your former team? King, Wane, or Sasha?'"
Persephone perked up with a grin on her face, "Oh that's an easy question, Wane may be the most obnoxious of the three, but he'll fall to me if I bribe him, and King may be an idiot who's probably only getting by because of luck, but Sasha is clearly the worst offender, she's brainwashed my entire team!"
"What... do you mean?" May asked.
Persephone scoffed in response, "Did you not watch the episodes, she'd start fights with me all the time and everyone on the team would immediately take her side in it, there's clearly either some brainwashing or anti-Persephone bias going around here, and I don't appreciate that." Persephone stood up, "But know this Sasha, if we're ever in a season two together, I will make sure that you are the very first person to be eliminated, and I don't break my promises." Persephone grinned.
"YEAH, YOU TELL HER QUEEN!" A girl shouted from off-screen.
"I'm not really sure how you expect that to work out, to be honest." Alex shrugged, "Sasha is fairly close with some people, so you'd have to get lucky and not be placed on the same team as anyone that's she's friends with."
"Yeah..." May agreed.
Persephone let out a small laugh, "It's bold of you to assume I'll need to be on a team without her friends." Persephone grinned, "I've already come up with multiple different ways to get rid of her when the time comes."
"Well... you can save that for later..." May cracked her neck, "The next question is from Nobody245, with it being 'What exactly did you offer your team?'"
"Pssh." Persephone laughed, "What did I offer my team? I was the team! Note how I did everything perfectly in every challenge I was in, I guarantee if I was there for that stupid Hula challenge I could've written a script that would make the judges cry tears of joy!" Persephone stopped for a moment, "Then again, anything could be better than Kaito throwing the challenge." Persephone chuckled.
"You... really think you could win the challenge?" May asked Persephone.
"Of course," Persephone crossed her arms, "Did you see that disaster of a performance from both teams? It'd be child's play to make something that's better than that!"
"Well... if you say so..." May shrugged.
"STOP QUESTIONING THE QUEEN!" One of Persephone's fans shouted.
"What did I say earlier?" Persephone's eye twitched in annoyance, which immediately made the fan apologize.
Alex cleared his throat, "Anyways, next up we have three different questions, actually, all of them from lordgemini, let's start with this question 'Don't you think your attitude helped in your elimination?'" Alex asked.
Persephone rolled her eyes, "Clearly not, you can say I was a jerk however much you want, but if I was eliminated because of that, then there's no excuse for Wane and King still being around, is there? I'm telling you, Sasha has built some anti-Persephone bias in this team! Also, that liar Wane didn't vote for King when I paid him five hundred dollars to do what I want for the day! Well the jokes on him, because I didn't pay him squat for that betrayal!"
"You paid him?" Alex raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, like I said earlier, that idiot can easily be controlled if you bribe him" Persephone chuckled, "No way he's lasting much longer."
"I dunno, he's been doing fine for now I guess." Alex shrugged, "May, do you want to read the next question for May?"
"...Sure." May grabbed the letter with the other two questions, "Next we have... 'Who are you supporting to win the show?'... I actually wanna know this myself..."
Alex scratched his chin, "Yeah, me too, firstly, is there anyone on your team that you're rooting for?"
Persephone sighed, "No, the person who I was rooting for, Kaito, got eliminated."
"You were rooting for Kaito?" Alex raised an eyebrow, "Was it because he didn't vote for you?"
"Not even close." Persephone shook her head in response to the question, "I didn't talk to Kaito all that much, but his quiet nature was a relief compared to the rest of my team, he was never a nuisance like everyone else. Besides," Persephone gave a smile, "It would've been pretty funny to see the man who wasn't trying to win beat everyone else on my former team."
"Ok..." May rested her head on her hand, "But... who do you want to win now...?"
Persephone tapped her chin, "Hmmm, well that certainly is a tough question, obviously not anyone who's still on the Chickens... I guess I'll go with Flora."
"Flora!?" Both May and Alex jumped back in surprise.
"Wait what!?" Alex showed actual emotion for once, "Where did you get Flora as an answer!? You just said you wanted Kaito to win because he's quiet!"
"Yes, but Flora immediately knew to serve me as soon as I got here, as the first thing she did when she met me was give me a chair to stay out of the sun." Persephone laughed, "So I'll return the favor by rooting for her."
"We'll root for her too!" A few fans shouted out, which caused Persephone to groan in annoyance and roll her eyes.
"Well, that was..." May stopped to give a yawn, "Certainly a shock... the last question... is... 'Did you learn anything from this season?'"
"Well for starters, I've learned that I'm either gonna have to try harder to avoid losing, or that I'm gonna have to tone down my attitude a bit if I want to get somewhere." Persephone stretched back, "I've also learned to not get lost in my ego. My chasing for attention from King had to have been part of my downfall." Persephone gripped her fist, "As I said before, though, I will not let those two get a chance next time."
"Well," Alex looked at a watch on his wrist, "It seems that we're out of time for your interview, Persephone," Alex stood up, "Audience, give a round of applause to Persephone for her performance." Alex clapped for Persephone, only for the crowd to roar into sadness and 'no's.
"Well, that was a fun interview," Persephone gave a polite bow as she pointed to the booth on her right, "I assume I have to go to the peanut gallery booth over there?"
"Whichever... you prefer..." May shrugged.
"I see." Persephone smiled as she walked over to the booth and sat in it.
"Well that was Persephone..." May stretched her arms back far, "The next, and only other contestant we'll be... interviewing today is part of a famous family... got himself eliminated... and made a social media account for the first time ever... after... he was eliminated."
"Give it up for Kaito." Alex clapped for the next guest.
Like Persephone before him, Kaito got a huge amount of cheers from the audience as he slowly walked on stage and sat down in the reclining chair, "Just let it be known that this is a horrible experience." Kaito bleakly stated toward the two hosts.
"Well, it's almost over Kaito, just gotta do a few questions," Alex replied.
"Let's just get the video over..." May looked down as she almost drifted off into a daydream, suddenly May moved her head back up and turned on the t.v., "with..."
"My time during the show?" Kaito mumbled to himself, "It was... awful. Dealing with all of the physical punishment, and everyone wouldn't leave me alone." Kaito groaned in annoyance, "Whether it be hurting myself during surfing, or having to listen to my teammates bicker forever... I'm glad I'm finally out... At least... I think I am... I don't want to go back there... but I feel bad about lying to Vanessa..." Kaito stopped talking for a few seconds, "I hope me keeping in touch with her is enough of a compromise."
"There are actually a few questions relating to you and Vanessa, Kaito." Alex brushed his hair, "Like this one from Alexneushoorn, which says 'Are you grateful for Van helping you come out of your comfort zone and try new things in the short time you spent together on the island?'"
"Grateful? I..." Kaito paused, "How am I supposed to answer this? I... appreciate Vanessa's friendship I suppose but I... I don't know... I don't think I liked stepping out of my comfort zone... Agh... Eris... I don't believe I can answer this question." Kaito shook his head.
"That's fair I guess." Alex shrugged, "If I were in your shoes I don't think I'd have an answer either."
"He's lying." May went back into the state she was in earlier, where she was sitting up completely straight, "He's acting as if he is mixed on his feelings about Vanessa's friendship, but his body language and pauses suggest he did enjoy Vanessa's company and was grateful for it, but he doesn't want to admit it after getting himself voted off."
"That's not..." Kaito looked away.
May pointed at Kaito, "He's looking away, a pretty clear sign of lying."
"Ok... fine..." Kaito groaned, "I was grateful for Vanessa taking me out of my comfort zone. Are you happy?" Kaito confessed.
"Yeah..." May went back to her normal slow-talking self, "The next question is from KadachiNova, 'are you the... sussy imposter? I'm sorry for any pain experienced from this question.'"
"Wha... huh... what?" Kaito had a look of pure confusion on his face, "Ummm... no? I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean."
"Me neither." Alex scratched his head, "Maybe we should just move on from... whatever that question was."
"It means are you a murderer pretending to be... innocent." May casually stated, as if someone asking that was a normal question.
"What!?" Kaito moved back in surprise, "Mercury no! I'm not a murderer! Why would anyone think that of me!?"
"Yeah... that's kinda weird." Alex rubbed the back of his neck, "I guess it's some sort of joke we don't get? Anyways, the next question is from lordgemini, they sent in two questions actually, the first one is 'Congratulations, you ran away, you must be so proud.'"
Kaito moved back, "T-That's not a question... I... I already admitted I felt somewhat bad about what I did to Van, ok? I'm not completely proud, but I made up for it with her..."
May leaned over, "The other question... is 'Wasn't a jerk move to throw the challenge after Van trusted you?' Looks like your move wasn't very popular..." May commented.
"I... I don't appreciate this... passive aggressiveness..." Kaito looked sick to his stomach, "I just wanted to spend time by myself... For the love of phobos, Asuka is the only reason I'm here, if it weren't for her I'd be at home in my lab and happ-" Kaito immediately covered his mouth after realizing what he said, "That's not..." Kaito lowered his hand, "Can... I just move on to the next question?"
"Sure..." May grabbed another letter from the table and began to open it, "This next question is from... Nobody245, 'Do you feel any... guilt for quitting the game when Van tried so hard to keep you in it?"
"What... I..." Kaito covered his face with his hands, "...I just wanted to study..."
"We should just ask our own questions from now on." Alex tossed the letter away, "Like how abou-"
"I do feel guilty ok?" Kaito mumbled through his hands, "I know what I did was betraying Vanessa's trust, and that I was a horrible friend for doing it. But as soon as I saw that I was accepted for this show I only had the goal of leaving in my mind. I failed Vanessa... and I failed my own sister..." Kaito looked up, "Stop reminding me of it." For the first time in his entire run on the show, Kaito had a voice that didn't have an uninterested tone, it was much shakier and had a hint of anger in it.
Kaito then stood up from the chair, "This is the worst part of it all too, I fell for her."
"Wha-" May started but was cut off by Kaito.
"I've developed something in my head about Van. What is it? Love? I don't... think so." Kaito clenched his fist, "I just... feel some way about her that I've never felt about anyone before in my life. Her... just talking to me.. it was always... charming. Was it a deep friendship? I tried to put it into words and tell her before I left, but all I could manage was that pointless friend request, which of course that doesn't make up for anything!" Kaito paced back and forth, "I've been a complete idiot for these six episodes, and all because I desperately wanted to just be alone." Kaito began to pace in a much dizzier manner, "What is wrong with me!? I wanted to fail this whole time... and that... wasn't enough... it just made everything worse!" Kaito spoke with heavy breaths as he fell back into the chair, "I won and lost at once..." Kaito covered his face with his hands. [2]
"Can you close the curtains and just give us a moment?" Alex bleakly spoke to May, who shook her head yes and went over to a nearby intern.
"I... will show myself out." Persephone winced as she got up and left the stage."
A few seconds later, curtains closed over the stage and it was just Kaito and Alex together.
"What is it now?" Kaito mumbled through his hands.
"It sucks." Alex patted Kaito on the back.
"What?" Kaito replied.
"Well, everything to be honest." Alex shrugged, "You know... like these feelings. I can... relate too well, to be honest. Being the kid who does nothing but hurt himself, and is just a lesser version of his brother, everyone goes and talks behind your back."
"Yeah... and they don't stop." Kaito gritted his teeth.
"I'll be honest... I'm well, horrible at this sort of thing, kinda like a lot of things I try to do... but uh... well... whenever anything bad happened to me, I guess... I just had Will to lean onto..." Alex coughed, "And that leaning... just made me ignore that Will's like me... I guess you could say it sort of opened my eyes. While I'm sitting here complaining about having to put on this fake persona to be an aftermath host, I have to sit back and watch Will barely try through every challenge. It kinda reminds me of what you said earlier, that I failed my own brother..."
"I..." Kaito looked up.
Alex gave a slight laugh, "But... I wanna take a page from the Will I knew... I want to try and keep a smile through every challenge I face, and to cheer others up, and the minute I see him walk into this aftermath studio, I want to give him the biggest hug known to mankind..." Alex rubbed his arm, "Like I said, it all sucks... but... I think... it's who we're close to that makes it... better..." Alex gulped, "So how about instead... you try talking to Van in person when you get the chance... and you won't have failed her."
"I... guess." Kaito sighed and gave a slight smile, "I don't think you were too bad at this..."
Alex let out another slight laugh as he turned over to the side stage, "For whatever intern is peeping in, just get May and tell her to end the episode with me." Alex called out.
The curtains opened up to show Alex and May, as well as a much calmer Kaito.
"Well, Kaito… that's all of our… time for the day…" May cracked her neck as she decided to end the episode, "Thanks to everyone who came out to this aftermath special… today."
"Yeah, thank you all." Alex rolled his eyes, "Now please leave so I can relax for the rest of the day." May gave a slight elbow to Alex's side, "I mean, we hope to see you again next time."
"Who will appear on the next… aftermath? Who will cause the most backstage drama? And who will…." May let out a long yawn, "Have the most fans next time? Find out next time on Total Drama… Sakamannano Aftermath…" Right as May finished she collapsed onto the couch and entered a daydream.
"Uh, right," Alex looked over at his passed-out co-host, "Find out next time. Good night to you all…"
The screen then cut to the aftermath logo from the beginning, but this time with a 'good night' added to the subtitle, signaling the end of the first aftermath.
Alex sighed in relief after everyone left, "Thank goodness. I was certain someone was gonna stick around to get drama out of us." Alex fell over onto the couch, "Maybe you should try meeting up with her instead, Kaito." Alex gave a slight smile.
"What?" Kaito asked, taken aback.
"If you're concerned about making it up to Van... just try talking to her outside of the competition." Alex suggested, "It doesn't have to be anything big. But maybe it could help you, you know? I'm not exactly the best with... these types of things." Alex gave a slight laugh, "But... I think that would work..."
Kaito took a deep breath as he pulled out his phone and texted Van, "...Yeah." Kaito let out as he sent a text to his friend, with that text being, 'After the show ends, would you mind going to meet up to try and hang out again?'
Alex patted Kaito on the back and walked off, while Kaito sat nervously in his chair.
A few minutes of Kaito sitting in the same place later, he finally got his response, 'Of course!'...
FreshmEn: Whooo boy, and there's our first ever aftermath chapter, there isn't much to say here except gotcha, surprise double feature again! For this aftermath, we wanted to show some other parts of characters' personalities, like Persephone's loyalty to her allies, Kaito's personality, and more of May's intelligence.
