(Yes, I canonically killed off Tommy K. through unspecified ways. Don't worry, I'll explain it later on in the story lol.)

~alert! a dinosaur has appeared!~
"It's in a military base, and since our teleportation systems aren't pinpoint accurate,"
*overview of Black Eagle's base is shown*
"there's a chance you'll be teleported outside the base, and that'll just make things more difficult."
"That's Spiny! He's alive! I knew it!"
"Hey, Ed. Is your leg frozen? It's hard as a rock."
*Ed checks off "see colorful buildings" on his list; above it, it says "change leg"*
"How's progress?"
"It has been born."
"Spinosaurus aegyptiacus. Built for battle and land territory."
*Spiny roars into the air as he reveals himself with his new look*
"Spiny?"
"What did you do to him?!"
*The Centrosaurus roars at it's opponents before activating Thunder Bazooka*
"What shall you name it, Fist?"
*Nash Sullivan reveals himself*
"Let's call it…"
*A dinosaur steps into the sunlight*
"…the Chimera."
*The Chimera let's our a blood curdling scream-like roar as both teams gawk at the hybrid in horror*
While both the D-Team and the Alpha Gang were at Fort Unfortunate Name, the Ancients opted to stay behind to continue working on the Backland. As of right now, Dr. Cretacia was busy running facial scans on every scan that has been sent to their main server by the Spy Flies and comparing them to a facial scan of Mr. Mills they had on file. Dr. Cretacia sighed tiredly as she rubbed her face, currently exhausted from all the wrong scans she's got. At that moment her husband, Dr. Ancient, came up from behind and began to massage her shoulders in an attempt to relieve her some stress.
"Mmmmm." Dr. Cretacia moaned as she enjoyed the massage. "Your hands are lovely, Dan."
"A lot more they can do besides dig up fossils." Dr. Ancient says with a flirtatious smile.
"Don't I know." his wife agrees with a smile.
"How's it going?"
"Over 2 million results and none are a match to Mr. Mills." she answers. "A little to the left.
Dr. Ancient obliged before he started asking again. "Cheryl," he suddenly says. "do you fear evil? Not evil like Dr. Z or the Space Pirates but true evil. Diabolical people who care nothing about those they hurt and are so hellbent on their own goals they'll do anything to obtain?"
"Why the sudden question, Dan?" his wife asks.
Dr. Ancient suddenly stopped the massage and took a quick yet hard look at the monitor in front of him. "The Fist. The Grand Master. Those two will stop at nothing to get these cards. They've already demonstrated it… Sometimes I wonder if it was a good idea trying to preserve the species in the first place. After all, us traveling back in time led to this exact moment anyway. Trapped in another time period with cards scattered all over the world and evil forces rising from the shadows to obtain them… Makes me wonder if we've detoured from our original path."
"Danny." Dr. Cretacia softly says, laying a gentle hand on her husband's. "If we didn't travel back in time, we would have never met these awesome people. Max, Zoe, their parents. Rex would never meet his best friends and I can tell they love their pet dinosaurs as well. And they love Rex even more. Tell me, Dan, would you be alright if you were to rob our son's happiness?"
"Heavens no." Dr. Ancient replies before pondering deeply yet again. "I guess everything happens for a reason… Makes you wonder what the big guy upstairs has in store for us."
"Maybe things happen for a reason, maybe not. Or maybe it's some cosmic coincidence and we're just slowly driving our species into extinction with our own stupidity." Dr. Cretacia suddenly theorizes with a hyperactive smile.
"It took 165 million years for dinosaurs to go extinct. Maybe we're next… in the next… something million years. I don't know."
"This line of work, it's hard to determine. Then again, Dan, our line of work is hard to begin with."
"Yeah," Dr. Ancient agrees with a serious expression on his face. "it's murder."
Dr. Cretacia suddenly stood up from her seat and stretched before facing her husband, wrapping her arms around him with a teasing smile on her face. "Hey." she says. "Everyone is out and Jonathan and Helga are out buying groceries. Wanna… fool around?"
Dr. Ancient simply gave his wife a slightly disgusted expression in response. "Ew. We don't do that… anymore." he says in distaste.
"Not that kind of fooling around! I meant snoop around Rex's personal things! Ya know, read his diary or something."
"I don't think Rex has a diary, babe."
"I don't hear a 'noooooooooo'." Dr. Cretacia persists with a teasing smile.
Dr. Ancient was silent for a few seconds before he himself grew a sly smile in return. "We have 15 minutes tops! Let's check his drawers." he agrees as the two quickly run towards the doors.
"Oooh, this is so exciting! I'm gonna look at Rex's search history and silently judge him for it!"
"What about the Spy Flies?"
"Ah, those things have been hitting foul balls for the passed month. Chances are we're not gonna get anything while we're frolicking around."
"Please don't say frolicking ever again."
The two then left the now unoccupied room to go and do their shenanigans. If they had stayed behind a second later, they would have noticed that one of the Spy Flies had sent an attached file containing the photo of the Grand Master, evident by the notification sound beeping on the screen.

Dinosaur King: Prehistoric Peril
The two guards that were tied up back at the toll booth had finally regained consciousness, only to wake up to being tied next to each other and stripped of all weapons. All they could do was just wait until back up arrives or until the next shipment arrives at the base, which wouldn't be until 6 hours minimum. So they opted to do the next best thing until help arrived.
"I spy with my little eye somethiiiiiiiiiing orange." says one of the guards.
"Sand." the other guard replies in an annoyed and tired tone with lidded eyes.
"God damn you're good! Okay! Okay! Another one. I spy with my little eye something green!"
"Cactus."
"My God, man! You're on fire! Okay, last one. I spy-"
"Sky."
The first turned to his colleague with a raised brow. "You didn't even let me finish."
"We're in the middle of a desert. All there is is sand, cacti, and the sky."
"Not true!… There's also this tortoise."
The second guard turned to where his work colleague was staring at to see that there was indeed a tortoise walking by them. "At least it doesn't have a human head on it." he mumbled in annoyance.
The entire front area of the Black Eagle base was littered with corpses of Black Eagle soldiers. Some had their entire arms amputated, some were decapitated, some were even pinned to the walls or ground by arrows sticking out of their bodies. One of the soldiers had his pants down and butt in the air… for whatever reason. Standing in the middle of the corpse-littered base was Jericho, hand firmly on an arrow as he held his bow, currently examining the remnants of the chaos he had just unfolded. One of the soldiers suddenly groaned as he lifted his hand in an attempt to escape, only for Jericho to shoot and arrow to the back of his head, killing him instantly.
"Piss off, you big head!" he yells at the dead soldier. The moment was interrupted when his radio began to make some noise, indicating that someone was calling him. "What now?" he asks in frustration before picking up his radio. "Yeah?"
"Jericho." the Grand Master's voice says over the radio. "Did you get the dinosaur yet?"
"Not yet, but-"
"Bring it back here, immediately! The Black Eagle back up squad will be there any minute."
Jericho growled in frustration as he placed his bow and arrows away. "Comin' boss. Comin'." he obliged. Jackson could be seen groaning in pain as he was attempting to pick himself up, only for Jericho to step on top of his back. "We'll finish this some other time."
Jericho used Jackson's body as leverage as he literally stepped on him and over him. Unbeknownst to the Australian, Jackson silently placed a small tracking device on the inside of his pants near the ankles. "You can count on it." Jackson mumbles before losing consciousness.
Jericho was last seen leaping high into the air in an attempt to find the dinosaur.
The Chimera roared into the air as the two teams were struck with fear at looking at the genetic abomination. Even Terry, probably the strongest and ferocious dinosaur out of the five dinosaurs, was intimidated by the hybrid. Spiny and the Centrosaurus joined in on the roaring as their three human masters all smirked at their fear.
"You created a dinosaur? By mixing other dinosaurs together?!" Max yells at the Fist with visible rage in his voice.
"What's the point?! Why would you create your own dinosaur?!" Rex joins in on the yelling.
"If you were to stop yelling, children, I'd be happy to answer your questions." Sullivan calmly answers. The Chimera suddenly roared at their dinosaurs, prompting some of them to back up in intimidation. "We created the Chimera as a simple test. On what genetic science can really do. We combined the DNA of our Centrosaurus and Spinosaurus along with that very T-Rex you have over there. It's strong arms provide an offensive measure while its horn is for defensive purposes. The T-Rex's bite force has also been blended into the mix, making it unstoppable."
Once again, the Chimera roared at its enemies. "But why would you do that?!" Zoe angrily demands.
"Yeah! Even Dr. Z isn't crazy enough to make his own dinosaur!" Zander adds.
Sullivan simply glared at his enemies. "You just don't get it, do you?" he asks them. "Why would you, anyway? A bunch of children and three hooligans would never understand the brutalities of war and the loss of loved ones."
This just confused the group as they simultaneously turned to each other, wondering if any of them knew what he was talking about. Before they could get an answer, the Centrosaurus suddenly began roaring, briefly scaring the humans while the Fist just retained his calm and collected composure.
"Stop roaring you stupid thing." Wrench grumbles as he pushes a few buttons on his controller, struggling to control the primitive beast.
"As I was saying," Sullivan continues. "you need not fret over these creatures. These dinosaurs are capable of many possibilities. Righting the wrongs for example."
"Righting… the wrongs?" Max questions, not knowing what he was talking about.
"These dinosaurs could be so much more than just mere animals." the Fist continues. "These creatures dominated the earth 165 million years ago until nature sealed their fate. Now here they are, given a second chance to now coexist with humans. As normal dinosaurs, nothing more than a lion at a zoo. But working with humans, they are by far more reliable than today's machinery of war. We as a race have been sending innocents to die for our own causes, fighting a war we care nor knowing nothing about. Fighting an enemy that doesn't even exist. Why send in our sons and daughters when we can send in 10,000 pounds of pure prehistoric muscle." The Fist suddenly grew a grim glare at the teams. "How much are humans worth to the silver spooned I wonder?"
"So… you want these dinosaurs… to send out to war?" Zoe asks in an unsteady tone.
"Now you understand." Sullivan replies with a smile.
"I mean… It's- It's a good idea and all on paper but when you actually do it, isn't it kind of… cruel?" Ed asks in uncertainty, though mostly was from fear of the Fist in general.
"These extinct creatures were brought back to life. They have no feelings other than to walk, eat, and mate. Nothing more and nothing less. Mindless killing machines is what they all are. I'm just simply 'guiding' them to help the other dominating species on this planet: humans."
"So you plan on sending live dinosaurs to fight your wars?! That's insane!" Max asks in both bewilderment and anger.
"Yeah! Who are you to use these dinosaurs like they're weapons?!" Zoe shouts at the man.
"Don't you realize these are living breathing animals that have feelings?!" Rex adds.
"They're dinosaurs. They have no feelings." Sullivan repeats.
"But still, sending them out against armed forces? You've gotta admit that's crazy!" Rod shouts.
"Yeah, and trust us, we've seen some crazy shit." Zander adds with a pointed finger.
"Not by themselves mind you." Sullivan replies "These dinosaurs will have armor and weapons to help with the battle. Control chips to keep them in line as we have no way of taming adult primitive creatures. As you can see, your Spinosaurus as you call it is in very safe hands. The Chimera is simply a prototype in building the ultimate predator. Something we can send out to destroy large armies, like Al-Queada. Osama Bin Laden could even meet his fate under prehistoric jaws. A fitting death to what he has done to this country and world. Can't you see I'm building something that could help the human race?"
"All I see is some insane loser who thinks he can play God and create genetic monsters who just so happens to be some old geezer!" Max mocks the man. "Where's your walker, Fist? Hold on, let me call the retirement home! One of their patients escaped!" Max suddenly pulled out his cellphone. "Hello? Retirement home? Yeah, I have some big, ugly grandpa that needs his wheelchair and vitamin gummies!"
Being a hardened soldier who's been in various front line battles and special operations in the past, this barely affected the Fist. Though he will silently admit, it was just annoying hearing this kid mock and ridicule him. "I see no amount of persuasion will get you to see my views." he says. He scoffed as he closed his eyes and hung his head down low. "Very well. If those who cannot share my vision will be crushed by them. Adam. Sebastian."
His two associates turned to their superior, whom continued to glare ahead at the enemy. He then gave out one simple order.
"Kill them."
Wrench gave a toothy, wicked smile at the idea. "With pleasure." he says as he pushes a button while Mr. McCallum thrusted his gloved hand at the two teams.
Spiny and the Centrosaurus roared at their enemies as both teams got into attacking positions. Sullivan meanwhile reached behind to the back of his neck where it was revealed a chip was attached to the base of his skull where his brain stem would be. He switched on the chip as it glowed yellow and at the same time, the Chimera's eyes went from lizard-like to dilated pupils. The hybrid dinosaur was now under complete control through Sullivan's mind as it roared loudly into the air.
"You ready guys?" Max asks his friends as they firmly grip their devices.
"Yeah." was their response.
Chomp was the first to charge forward as he ran towards his ceratopsid cousin, whom charged back. The two met in a headlock as they roared at each other, with the Triceratops knocking the Centrosaurus to the ground with his head. Before he could attack once again, he was rammed in the side by Spiny, knocking him to the ground as well. Terry all of a sudden appeared from behind Chomp as he stepped over him, roaring at his former friend as the Spinosaurus gave out a loud crocodilian-like growl and hiss in response. By this point, the two apex predators were now focused on each other, 65 million years of predatory and territorial instincts kicking in as the two got into attacking positions.
Meanwhile, the Centrosaurus picked itself up only to be struck in the side by Tank's clubbed tail. Fortunately, due to its armor, it barely felt a thing as the ceratopsid retaliated by smacking the Saichania with its own tail, knocking her into a piece of machinery. The Centrosaurus looked ahead of itself to see Paris and Ace in front of it, both ready to attack it at any second. The two suddenly charged at the same time and rammed themselves into the dinosaur as the Centrosaurus used all of its strength to push back. Despite being outnumbered by two dinosaurs, the Centrosaurus still managed to hold off on its own as it actually began to start pushing the two dinosaurs back. With a loud roar and a final, powerful thrust, both Paris and Ace were sent flying away where they conveniently landed on top of Tank, whom was in the middle of getting up.
"Oh man. This doesn't look good." Ed mumbled in a worried tone.
"You know what else doesn't look good? THAT!" Ursula screamed as she pointed in the air.
The two men looked up to see the Chimera standing over them, jaws opened and teeth barred as it growled at the trio. "How fast do you think this dinosaur is?" Zander asks his friends.
"Let's hope not fast enough! RUN FOR IT!" Ursula orders as the trio makes a break for it.
The Chimera roared loudly as it began to give chase to its prey; seeing how it wasn't built for battling like Chomp and the others, the only thing on this hybrid's mind was only food. It was not a battle machine like Chomp and the others. It was driven by 65 million years instincts, so all it could do was chase and hopefully eat the trio for dinner. The trio continued to run from the Chimera as they ran passed both Terry and Spiny, whom were in the middle of their own battle.
Unlike the others, Terry and Spiny were not delivering blows and headbutts to each other, instead circling around while examining any weaknesses to each other. Because they were both apex predators back in the dinosaur age, territorial instincts kicked in as the two took quick snaps at each other. The two finally met in a headbutt as they quickly tried to gain the advantage of the fight. Spiny used his long, muscular arms to grab Terry's head and deliver deep scratches to the sides of his face and neck as the Tyrannosaurus threw himself out of the Spinosaurus' grasp. Terry then swung his tail at Spiny, hitting him directly in the face as Spiny was knocked back a bit, only to catch himself with his arms.
Spiny roared loudly at his opponent as Terry gave a loud bellow in return before the two lunged at each other. Terry was the first to make contact as he quickly bit down onto Spiny's thick neck, pushing him to the ground as he shook him in place. Spiny let out a deep bellow as he picked himself up, the ground shaking as the two continued to fight as the Spinosaurus struggled out of Terry's jaws. After a few seconds of struggling, Spiny thrusted himself from Terry's jaws before taking a quick snap at him, letting out a crocodilian hiss as he stood on all fours. Terry growled in response as he lunged forward, only to be slapped in the face by Spiny's humongous claws. The two then used their bodies to try and push the other to the ground like sumo wrestlers. Spiny slashed Terry's thigh with his claws, drawing blood as the Tyrannosaurus backed up to try attacking once again. Terry slammed himself directly into Spiny, successfully knocking him to the ground only for the Spinosaurus to catch himself with his arms. Growling in boiling rage, Spiny lunged forward and bit down onto Terry's neck, earning a loud roar from the Tyrannosaurus as Spiny used his arms to get a tight grip on the T-Rex's head.
While this was happening, Mr. McCallum did nothing but just witness the two prehistoric beasts fight each other, intrigued by how the two battled. He quietly chuckled to himself as he smirked at the two apex predators, secretly enjoying the two fighting and hoping to see an outcome soon. His colleague next to him however had different thoughts running through his head.
"Stupid horned lizard. Charge forward you idiot!" Wrench yells at his dinosaur, pressing a few buttons while doing so.
The Centrosaurus charged forward and bit it's beak down onto Paris' tail before tossing her away carelessly like she was a piece of trash. Ace suddenly pounced and began to jump on top of the Centrosaurus, much to its annoyance as it began to shake him off like a bull in a bullfight. The resulting bucking bronco fiasco ended up with the Centrosaurus accidentally bumping into Spiny, inadvertently letting go of Terry, freeing him from his grasp. Terry was the only one that wasn't knocked to the ground as Spiny, the Centrosaurus, and Ace lost their balance and fell hard to the ground.
"Sebastian." Mr. McCallum sternly calls out with an annoyed glare. "Please control your Centrosaurus so it shall not hinder my own battle."
"It's not my fault! Something is wrong with this thing!" Wrench exclaims in anger, smacking his controller. "I think the control chip is losing power!"
"And that's why you always have a back up plan, Mr. Wheeler." Mr. McCallum replies as he snaps his gloved fingers.
This ended up with Spiny being the first one to get up before latching his elongated snout onto Ace's neck before tossing him away. "Ace!" Rex calls out to his friend.
Laura then pulled out a move card. "Quake Saber!" she announces as she activates the move card.
Tank glowed purple as purple crystals began to form at the edge of her tail, like an actual lightsaber but purple, like Samuel L. Jackson's lightsaber. The Saichania roared before swinging her tail towards the Centrosaurus, but because of it's armor, it had little effect on the actual dinosaur. Instead, sparks came flying out as the Quake Saber collided with it's metallic armor. Tank went in for another swing, only for the Centrosaurus to duck instead before headbutting her in the side, knocking her down to the ground.
"Tank!" Laura calls out.
"We can't do anything with that armor the Centrosaurus has." Rod says in defeat.
"Hey, wait!" Max suddenly exclaims, an idea forming in his head. "Why not use the Element Boosters? We can even the playing fields by giving our dinosaurs their armor as well!"
"Hey, yeah! That's an excellent idea!" Zoe agrees.
"Hate to burst your bubble, Max, but we don't have the Element Boosters." Rod replies in a vanquished tone.
"What?! Why not?!" Max asks in absolute confusion.
"Clean. Clean. Clean. So many messes to CLEAN." Helga angrily mumbles as she picks up dirty laundry littered all over the bathroom floor. She suddenly then came across the six Element Boosters lying carelessly on the floor, much to her anger. "ACKH! If Dr. Ancient says zese toys are important to him, zen vhy does he just leave zem here on ze floor?! Good grief! He's just as messy as Dr. Z." She bent over and picked up the six Element Boosters. "I shall put zese zings in their correct spots."
Unfortunately for her, Rod and Laura had decided on that day to play a game of tag… with a shock prod. "Hahahaha! I'm gonna get you!" Laura laughed as she chased Rod around while wielding said shock prod.
"Gotta have to catch me first!" Rod laughed back as the two continued playing tag.
Rod suddenly bumped into Helga before Laura did the same, except accidentally shocking Helga with the shock prod, effectively shutting her down. Because of this, she had accidentally dropped the Element Boosters inside the toilet bowl and when she fell over, her head had accidentally hit the flusher lever. The two siblings looked down at the porcelain bowl to see the six Element Boosters swirling around the bowl before being lost in the sewer system forever.
The two siblings had shrunken pupils and wide eyes once they realized what they've done. "Oops." they say at the same time.
Rod and Laura both grew complexed expressions as the flashback ended. "I guess we just lost them?" Rod shrugs with his half assed answer with Laura rapidly nodding her head with a huge smile on her face.
The moment was suddenly interrupted when the sound of something being smacked followed by the sounds of Chomp crying out in pain was heard. The teams looked ahead to see Chomp flying into the air, falling directly on top of Paris which resulted in her turning into a card.
"Paris!" Zoe cried out to her friend.
"Well, we just lost the healer of the group." Max mumbles in annoyance.
"I'm just glad we're not fighting the Chimera during all this. I wonder how the Alpha Gang is doing." Rex questions aloud before turning his focus back on the battle.
The Chimera roared into the air as it continued to chase the three Alpha Gang members, whom were all running for their lives. Literally. "Don't eat me! Eat Zander! I'm too beautiful and young to die!" Ursula pleads.
"No! You don't want me! I'm all skin and bones! I'm lanky! Take Ed! He's fat and juicy!" Zander begged for his life.
"I've already almost been eaten once! I can't do it again! I don't have life insurance!" Ed cries out.
"Zander! Don't you have a gun in your waistband?! Can't you just shoot this thing?!" Ursula yells at her colleague.
"I'm pretty sure a tiny pistol bullet won't kill that 10,000 pound monster behind us!" Zander yells back.
"Less fighting, more running!" Ed yells at his friends as the trio pick up the pace.
Meanwhile, two guards could be seen guarding the shed where they store the ammo, currently conversing with each other. "So then I said, 'I don't care if she's 14! She's got a nice ass!' Heheheh." one of the guards, whom had the name tag Willow, chuckled at the memory.
The other guard, whom had the name tag Foster, simply stared at the man with a disturbed look. "You're a horrible person. You know that right?" he says to the man.
The sounds of screaming were heard as the two looked ahead to see the Alpha trio running towards them with the Chimera chasing after them. "Look! In there! We can hide in that shed!" Zander suggested as the three made a beeline to the shed.
The two guards quickly aimed their weapons at the three. "Oh boy! I can finally shoot someone now!" Willow says with a maniacal smile.
"You're not a soldier! You're a psychopath!" Foster yells at him in bewilderment.
The two guards didn't have time to react when they were suddenly pushed inside by the trio before shutting the door closed. The Alpha Gang members all took time to catch their breaths as they leaned on the door. "That was a close one." Zander says in relief.
"For a second, I thought I would've lost my second leg." Ed mumbles out loud.
Ursula quickly caught on to his wording. "Wait? What do you mean 'lost'? You still have your leg." she points out to him.
"Uuuuuuh."
Before Ed could explain, the barrel of an assault rifle was pressed against their faces. "Halt!" shouts Willow. "You're not authorized to be in here! Leave now or I'll shoot you!"
"I don't agree with anything this guy says. This is my first week. I'm only a Private." Foster reveals to de-escalate the situation.
Before anyone else could say anything, the shed was suddenly smashed as the head of the Chimera pushed forward, jaws opened while bellowing loudly. Everyone screamed as they all simultaneously backed up to avoid getting eaten, but due to the confined space, it was proven to be difficult.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" they all scream in terror.
Thankfully, the Chimera could not reach the five due to its head being too big to fit in the confined space. This however didn't stop it as it continued to take quick snaps at the five whom pressed each other further into the wall behind them. Foster however was in the very back, currently getting squished by the other four as he started to push the person in front of him in order to get some breathing room.
"AAAAH! You're pushing me forward, you son of a bitch!" Zander yells, barely missing the jaws of the Chimera.
"It can't reach us!" Ed loudly informs the group.
"AAAAAAH!" Ursula screamed.
"It can't reach you, Ursula!"
The Chimera seized its snapping as it suddenly stuck its tongue out, trying to at least taste whatever flesh it could reach. Which so happened to be Ursula's face, slobbering it entirely while finally tasting the taste of fresh meat. Instead of reacting in disgust like normal, Ursula shuddered in fear as this was the probably the closest she's got to a dinosaur's mouth since the Carcharodontosaurus back in China.
"If we don't move, it won't get us. Maybe it'll just get tired and run away?" Zander theorizes in an uncertain tone.
"Or how about we just use you as bait." Willow replies as he goes to shove Zander.
Unfortunately for him, Ursula grabbed Zander at the last second and pulled him aside, resulting in Willow pushing nothing but air. Because of this, he accidentally pushed all of his weight forward, right into the jaws of the Chimera. The hybrid quickly bit down onto Willow's arm, dislocating it at the same time as the man began to scream in agony and horror before he was dragged out of the shed by the Chimera where he was taken out of view.
"AH! AH! AH! AAAAAAAAAH! NOO! NOO! NOOOOOO! NOOOOOO-"
*CRUNCH!*
The sounds of bone getting snapped and crunched were heard as blood poured down from the sky as Willow was eaten alive by the Chimera, earning disgusted groans from the group. Ed almost vomited as Zander almost lost consciousness. Foster, whom was behind the two, was the only one not really affected by the death all too well, instead having a more mundane expression on his face. Ursula was the first one to realize they had an opening to escape.
"This way! Go! Go! This way!" she yells as she runs out of the shed.
"That guy was a dick!" Foster yells as he follows Ursula.
The other two followed suit as they ran out of the shed and back outside, where the Chimera could be seen swallowing the last of Willow. After swallowing it's meal, it then noticed the other four making a break for it before giving chase to them.
"In there!" Foster shouts as he points to the main building.
The four suddenly swerved to the right just as the Chimera closed its jaws to capture nothing but air, Willow's clothes hanging off its teeth. The guard quickly opened the door as the trio ran inside as he quickly shut the door behind him, right when the Chimera was about to grab him. Instead, it slammed its head against the door, it's massive horn penetrating the building, getting it stuck to the side of the building in the process. Inside, the four took a moment to catch their breath, but with the hybrid outside, they knew it wouldn't last that long.
"Where are we?" Ursula asks while panting.
"Appears to be the garage judging by all the vehicles here." Zander theorizes.
Sure enough, the room the four had escaped into was no doubt a garage, filled with various land vehicles ranging from jeeps to cargo trucks. The moment was briefly interrupted when the sound of something crashing into the side of the building was heard. No doubt the Chimera trying to break in.
"Maybe we can take one of these jeeps and high tail it out of here?" Ed suggests.
"Best idea you had, Ed. Now choose!" Ursula orders the fat man.
"Can't Zander choose? I always pick the wrong one."
More crashing was heard from outside as part of the wall suddenly caved in, the horn of the Chimera stabbing right through the building. "No time! Just eenie meenie miney moe it!" Foster frantically exclaims as he runs away to avoid getting impaled.
"Good idea!" Zander agrees as the three mimic his actions. "Eenie. Meenie. Miney. Moe. Catch a dino by its toe. If it hollers, you better run, because getting eaten alive is no fun." Zander sings along before landing his finger on a Terradyne armored vehicle with a mounted gun. "Ooh. Nice choice."
"Great! Only problem is none of us know how to drive a military vehicle." Ursula points out in a defeated tone.
The three all suddenly got the same idea at the very same second before slowly turning their heads to Foster beside them, whom just had a very confused look. "What?" he asks.
The Centrosaurus took a direct hit to the side of the face by Tank's clubbed tail, knocking it down onto the ground. Before the Saichania could attack some more, Spiny came charging in and used his tail to trip her. Now she was on her back like a turtle and was now defenseless from any attack. The Spinosaurus then smacked Tank away once more with his tail, sending her flying into more machinery that got crushed upon impact.
"This is bad. Spiny's more powerful than he was before." Max laments the situation.
"The way we're going, we might not be able to beat him and we'll risk getting captured." Rex grimly says.
"Or eaten." Zoe adds in an equally grim tone.
"No! Spiny would never eat us! Even if he's under mind control!" Laura exclaims defiantly, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
"Hit him with everything you got Chomp!" Max shouts before inserting a move card into the slot of his DinoShot. "Plasma Anchor!" He announces as he aims the gun at Chomp, pulling the trigger as a yellow beam of light shot from the barrel and at Chomp.
The beam of light immediately illuminated Chomp as he himself grew yellow as well, his move card activating. The Triceratops quickly generated a ball of electricity from the tips of his horns before shooting towards Spiny, the electricity wrapping around him like a grappling hook. Now that he was in his grasp, Chomp lifted Spiny high into the air before slamming him down onto the ground, still getting mildly electrocuted from the attack.
"Oh yeah!" Max exclaims with a pumped fist. His moment of triumph ended early when Spiny picked himself from the ground and roared at the herbivore. "Oh… COME ON!"
"Let's see how Spino deals with horned defenders." Mr. McCallum asks himself with a sly smile as he thrusts his gloved hand forward.
Spiny gave a crocodilian bellow before charging towards the Triceratops. Chomp stood there, for a moment not knowing what to do, as he waited for the head on collision with the largest carnivore in history. Before the Spinosaurus could make contact, the second largest predator on the battlefield, besides the Chimera, charged out of left field and struck Spiny to the side. Spiny fell to the ground as Terry roared at his former friend, deciding to take him on for his own as he was the probably the best one to take him out.
"Let's up the ante a bit." Wrench says, pressing the trigger button on his controller.
Several hexagonal shaped objects suddenly got shot out from the Centrosaurus' armor before being spread out around both Chomp and Tank. For a moment, nothing happened, until the hexagonal shaped object suddenly popped out a red electric net that covered both herbivores, much like the net used to hold the Amargasaurus in Scotland. The two herbivores were now stuck in an electric net, slightly poached if you will, similar to any animals that had unfortunately met Ungaro. Except this wasn't Ungaro. This was a 20 something year old man child who looks like he has worn the same clothes in years and hasn't taken a shower in a week.
"Our dinos are trapped!" Rod proudly proclaims.
"Great." Max mumbled in anger.
Spiny and the Centrosaurus roared at their opponents, Terry and Ace, as the two carnivores roared back. "With half the team otherwise preoccupied, Spino and the Centrosaurus will have no trouble taking out these other two." Mr. McCallum analyzed with a sly smile. "Wrench. I'll leave you to the decision. Would you rather have their skulls crushed by your Centrosaurus' foot or would you prefer to impale their hearts on its horn?"
"Why not both?" Wrench sinisterly says with a grin. Both teams gasped upon hearing his decision. "And since Spino is a carnivore, we can have him… eat…" Wrench silenced himself when heard the faint sounds of an engine roaring and muffled music. "What's that sound?"
"I don't know." Mr. McCallum replies, having also noticed the sounds. "It's getting closer… It sounds like a-"
*CRAAAAAAAAAAAASH!*
America! Fuck yeah!
Comin' again to save the motherfuckin' day, yeah
Behind the two, the Terradyne armored vehicle came bursting out of the garage as time momentarily slowed down. Debris of the garage flew in the air as it surrounded the armored vehicle, which was also in the air due to jumping out of the garage. Inside the vehicle were the Alpha Trio and Foster, with said soldier driving the vehicle as he was the only who knew how to, Ursula taking the passenger seat, Zander taking the whole back seat, and finally Ed whom was on the mounted machine gun. Both Mr. McCallum's and Wrench's eyes widened in absolute horror the moment they turned around as time slowly began to revert back to normal.
"Caaaaaaaaaaaaar?!" the two confusingly scream at the same time.
The armored vehicle finally landed on the ground as it began to drive around erratically, hinting that the driver had absolutely no clue how to drive this complex vehicle. All while loudly playing America, Fuck Yeah on the radio.
America! Fuck yeah!
Freedom is the only way, yeah
The two men quickly leaped out of the way before they could get horrifically run over by the armored beast on wheels. Unfortunately, when he did, Wrench had accidentally dropped his controller, which ended up getting crushed by the vehicle's tires, destroying any communication he had with the Centrosaurus.
"NOO!" Wrench yells at his destroyed controller.
Inside the Centrosaurus' body, it's microchip that was controlling it had changed its colors from light blue to red, meaning all signals have been cut off. In the outside world, the Centrosaurus' eyes went from dilated to a smaller pupil. As soon as it regained its own free will, it immediately got confused and overwhelmed by the sudden environment it was in. Instead of a freezing city with icy roads like it previously felt, it was now in a hot, dry desert. Because of its confusion, it didn't see Terry tackling it to the ground followed by Ace whom proceeded to jump up and down on it.
Terrorists, your game is through
'Cause now you have ta answer to
Meanwhile, the Terradyne armored vehicle continued to swerve all around the battlefield; Rod, Laura and Rex all had to jump out of the way so they wouldn't get hit by the car. "You drive worse than Zoe! I thought you said you were trained to drive this?!" Ursula shouts at the soldier.
"I said I was trained! I didn't say I passed!" Foster shouts back, utterly terrified.
"Well can you at least slow down so I can load this shotgun back here without dropping the shells?!" Zander asks as he struggles to load an M1014 shotgun with a SUPREME logo on the side. The vehicle drove over a bump which resulted in the tall man dropping another shell.
America! Fuck yeah!
So lick my butt and suck on my balls
"At least the both of you have shotguns! I don't even know how to work this thing!" Ed yells as he tightly holds onto the mounted gun, which was shooting everywhere.
"Ed! Watch where you're shooting! You could pop someone's head off with that thing!" Ursula yells at the fat man as she curls in her seat to make herself a smaller target.
America! Fuck yeah!
Whatcha' gonna do when we come for you now
Sure enough, high caliber bullets were being shot randomly in all directions, with some bouncing off of the Centrosaurus' armor as well as at the ground. Thankfully, and because of plot continuity, none of the dinosaurs were harmed by the bullets. High up above, Jericho was seen watching over the fight on top of one of the buildings when he was suddenly shoved violently backwards due to the force of the minigun bullets.
"Crikey, ain't takin' a bloody death wish on that one, mate." he says to himself as he lies down on the roof to avoid getting shot some more.
It's the dream that we all share
It's the hope for tomorrow
(Fuck Yeah!)
The armored car continued to drive around erratically as high caliber bullets continued to fly all over the place. Just at that moment, the Chimera came bursting out of the warehouse and roared into the air before chasing down the armored car. Up on top of another roof, not the same one Jericho was on, the Fist ominously watched down from his perch as he continued to control the hybrid dinosaur with his mind. As usual, his stoic and serious expression was unhindered even when one of his vehicles was stolen.
"Oh great. The old lady got herself an armored car with a machine gun on top of it." Zoe sarcastically says as she hides behind a rock from the bullet storm.
"I HEARD THAT! STOP THAT! RIGHT NOW!" Ursula yells from the passenger seat.
"How can you hear anything with this thing blasting over our heads?!" Foster asks the greenette.
"When it comes to the words 'old lady', my hearing is 100x better than normal hearing!" Ursula yells back.
"Doctors say that it's a genetic phenomenon." Zander adds, finally loading all the shells into the auto shotgun.
"What in God's name-"
Mr. McCallum's words were cut off when he felt the ground shaking, prompting him to turn around. There, he saw the Chimera charging towards him as he continued to chase the armored vehicle. Not wanting to get crushed under the mutant's foot, the former paleontologist jumped out of the way as the hybrid ran passed him.
"Guys! I'm having trouble handling this thing!" Ed shouts as he struggles to control the turret.
"There's a locking mechanism by your foot! It should lock into place if you're unfamiliar with that giant, badass weapon!" the soldier yells as he swerves to the right to avoid hitting a rock.
"Oh." Ed suddenly looked down to see that there indeed was a locking mechanism by his foot, which he quickly knocked into place. The short, fat man tried to turn the turret to reveal that he now had a better grip on it. "Heeeeeeey! I got it!"
"Good! Then maybe you can use that on the charging dinosaur behind us?!" Zander asks as he stares up above him with a terrified look.
"Huh?" Ed turned around to see the Chimera was literally right above them as it roared down at him, slightly covering them with saliva. "HOLY CANNOLI! WHEN DID HE GET HERE?!"
"Less talking, more shooting!" Ursula shouts at the two men before turning to the driver. "And you! Put the pedal to the metal! I can practically feel this dinosaur's breath on my neck!"
"I barely passed my driver's test! How do you expect me to drive this complicated, funny looking clown car?!" the soldier asks frantically.
"You're kidding!"
"Yeah, I am… I failed miserably on my driver's test. Got every single question but the parallel parking part wrong." the soldier reveals in a depressed tone.
"YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A PERMIT LET ALONE A LICENSE?!… And yet, you're still a better driver than Zoe."
"Still don't know who that is."
The Chimera roared at its prey when it suddenly got shot in the jaw by Zander's shotgun. However, even a point blank shot from a fully auto shotgun barely scratched the Chimera's hide, if not making it similar to a cat scratch. Zander continued to unload his shotgun as Ed slowly turned the turret around but was hindered due to its heavy weight. After finally making a 180, Ed immediately pulled the trigger as bullets were shot from the barrel of the gun. The only problem was that because of its slow moving nature, the Chimera continuously kept moving its head to a different side before it could get shot.
"Ed! Can't you shoot for shit?!" Ursula yells at the fat man.
"It's not me! It's this stupid thing! It's so heavy that I can't make turns fast enough to aim at Chimera's head!" Ed yells back.
"Then aim for the stomach you idiot!"
"Oh. Good idea! Why didn't I think of that?" Before Ed could continue with the idea, the entire mounted turret was crushed by the jaws of the Chimera as the hybrid dinosaur ripped it from the jeep. "Oh crap." Ed mumbled in a fearful tone.
The Chimera spat the turret out of its mouth before roaring down at the fat man below him. Ed screamed as he tried to jump back into the keep, only for his leg to be caught in the jaws of the Chimera. The SAME leg that got bitten by the Giganotosaurus back in Canada.
"AAAAAH!" Ed screamed for his life. "SAME GODDAMN LEG!"
"NOT AGAIN!" Zander yells in terror.
However, in a complete twist, Ed's leg suddenly began to emit small sparks of electricity before it eventually turned into the equivalent to an exposed wire. The Chimera's jaws were zapped from the sudden shock of electricity as it roared in pain, causing it to drop Ed back in the armored car with partially ripped pants on the left side. Ed grumbled in pain before regaining consciousness.
"Am I dead?" he asks.
"Woah! Ed!" Zander suddenly shouts, earning Ed's attention. "Your leg! It's… Its… IT'S METAL!"
Sure enough, Ed's bottom half of his left leg was revealed to be completely made out of metal, very similar to automail from Fullmetal Alchemist. "Oh no." Ed mumbles in disappointment.
"WHY DO YOU HAVE A METAL LEG?!" Zander yells in absolute confusion at the fat man.
"Forget that! Why didn't you tell us you had a metal leg?! And for how long?!" Ursula yells at the man.
"Can we talk about it later? Like say WHEN WE AREN'T GETTING CHASED BY A DINOSAUR?!" Ed frantically yells as the Chimera roared above him.
The armored car suddenly drove right through a fence as the hybrid dinosaur followed them, closely behind their tails. "Ooooh, I get it! It's because Ursula is riding shotgun! Good one, Ed!" Zander compliments the fat man for his earlier comment.
"Not the time Zander!" Ursula shouts in annoyance.
The driver continued to swerve around the whole lot, all while the Chimera chased them, before passing the main dinosaur battle. By now, Chomp and Tank had freed themselves from the electric net, with Tank shaking her clubbed tail that was still trapped in the net. A loud sound suddenly emitted in the area as Ace fell to the ground after getting knocked down by one of the two dinosaurs.
"Hurricane Beat!" Rex shouts as he inserts his move card into the slot before shooting it at his patent.
Upon absorbing the move card, Ace glowed light blue as he summoned two tornadoes beside him. The two tornadoes rapidly moved towards the Centrosaurus before colliding with it, effectively holding it in place as Ace leaped into the air. Afterwards, he started to rapidly jab the Centrosaurus with his feet before delivering a final smack with his tail, sending the Centrosaurus flying. The ceratopsid fell to the ground as its armor began to suddenly crack before eventually falling apart all together.
"Noooooo! The armor!" Wrench yells in despair.
Before Ace could do anything, he was suddenly caught in the jaws of Spiny as the large Spinosaurus lifted him up into the air. Ace roared in pain before he was suddenly slammed onto the ground hard by Spiny before the Spinosaurus placed his massive foot on the Carnotaurus.
"Ace!" Rex cries out.
The Carnotaurus roared in pain as the larger theropod began to put all of his weight onto stepping on Ace. While doing so, Spiny emitted a loud roar that almost sounded like a howl followed by a throat vibrating growl. Ace couldn't take it anymore as he suddenly turned back into a card, his energy being depleted from literally getting stepped on, with Spiny's foot falling on the card in place.
"Terry! Knock Spiny back to normal with Volcano Burst!" Rod exclaims as he slashes the move card.
Terry's eyes glowed red as fire blazed from his eyes before the same fire ignited inside his mouth. He swung his head around for a brief moment before blasting it towards the ground where it started to travel towards the Spinosaurus. The spined theropod was engulfed in flames as he roared out in pain and rage, giving out a booming, benevolent roar into the air.
"It'll take a lot more than fire to take out Spino." Mr. McCallum says as he tightly grips his gloved fist.
Spiny's eyes widened upon receiving a telepathic command from the glove before roaring at his opponents, directly charging at them like a bulldozer. Or Max when he hasn't had his second serving of crab and egg fried rice in downtown Chinatown… on a Tuesday. Either way, the Spinosaurus charged at the tyrant lizard or reptile only for Tank to suddenly jump in the way and smack Spiny in the face, knocking him to the ground.
"Then how about the clubbed tail of a Saichania? Ha!" Laura laughed.
Mr. McCallum scowled in response before turning to his colleague. "Mr. Wheeler, it appears I am in need of your assistance." he growls at the man. However, said man gave no answer in return. "Sebastian?"
The former paleontologist turned to where his colleague was, only to find out that he was no longer standing beside him. He turned around to see Wrench running as fast as he could, running as far away as he could to get away from the dinosaur fight. "You're on your own!" he shouts back.
"Where are you going?!" Mr. McCallum yells in rage.
Wrench briefly turned around for a moment. "My controller is destroyed! I lost all control over the rhino! You're on your own!" With that, Wrench ran around the corner of the main building and disappeared from line of sight.
Mr. McCallum was less than pleased at his colleague's abandonment, to which he quietly growled as he scowled at his colleague's direction. "Wheeler. Once a coward, always a coward." he mutters in a shameful tone.
Spiny roared before collapsing his jaws onto Tank's neck, earning a loud bellow of pain from the Saichania. Before Spiny could do anything else, Chomp came charging in and knocked Spiny to the ground, only for the Spinosaurus to catch himself with his human-like arms. Spiny hissed in retaliation as Chomp roared to intimidate the larger theropod. The Spinosaurus suddenly moved out of the way just as Terry snapped his jaws at him before both the Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops started to confront the spined reptile.
At the same time however, the Alpha Gang were still getting chased by the Chimera as they had just rounded the corner from behind the building. "Doesn't this thing run out of stamina?!" Ursula shouts in frustration.
"It's a genetic, mutant hybrid! Of course it has more lung capacity!" Zander yells back as he sticks his gun out of the window. Unfortunately for him, the Chimera had snagged Zander's gun and completely destroyed it in it's mouth. "Well, I lost the gun."
"Okay! I have good news!" Foster yells from the driver's seat.
"What is it?" Ursula asks.
"I KNOW which button is for the land mines… I think." he suddenly corrects in an uncertain tone.
"This thing has land mines?!" Ed yells from the back.
"I don't know! I'm just making up crap as I go! I'm creative like that! It also helps when I'm in severe pressure like, oh say, A GIANT FREAKIN' DINOSAUR CHASING AFTER US!" Foster yells as a wide shot of the Chimera chasing the car was shown.
"Eyes on the road, dipshit!" Ursula shouts as she suddenly takes the wheel and swerves to the right.
Unfortunately for her, doing so resulted in driving straight towards Spiny's tail where upon impact, sent the car flying into the air while going unnoticed with Spiny. The Chimera watched the car drive over it before affixing it's attention towards the dinosaur battle in front of it. The car landed behind the Chimera, with one massive drop on top of it's roof, the windows instantly gave in from the pressure as glass shards flew all over the place. The car, now on it's back due to the position during the fall, was completely wrecked with the sounds of glass falling and shattering were heard from the inside of the car. Said inside were shown to still contain four passengers, all with bloody scratches and bruises on their faces as they unconsciously hung upside down.
"Ursula!" Zoe shouts in shock, earning odd looks from her companions upon hearing her say her actual name.
"As much as I'm worried about the Alpha Gang right now, we've got bigger problems." Max says as he stares up with a horrified look on his face.
The Chimera, after having failed in catching a quick snack, had finally joined in on the fight as it gave out a blood curdling scream-like roar at it's enemies. The current dinosaurs - Chomp, Terry, and Tank - backed up in fear from the dinosaur it had never seen before, therefore not knowing anything about it. From afar, the Fist was shown on top of a building, having gotten through off screen, revealing that he still had complete control over his own creation. The neuron chip behind his neck.
The Centrosaurus shook it's head after having finally regained it's composure from it's battle, only to get stepped on by the massive Chimera. The Centrosaurus looked up to see that the hybrid monstrosity wasn't even paying attention to it as it continued to put more pressure into it's step. Having enough of it, the ceratopsid gave out a loud wail before finally glowing yellow and turning back into three card. The Chimera, having not noticed any of this, simply growled at it's opponents, it's throat vibrating from said growl.
"Guys," Max suddenly says in a serious tone. "Spiny hasn't been using any of his move cards. Maybe it's because he wasn't turned back into a card before he was captured?"
"That would mean he's still under control from a stone plate!" Rod exclaims.
"And because that old geezer in a nice suit and shoes doesn't have a stone plate, he can't use any of Spiny's moves." Max finishes.
"And the Chimera?" Zoe asks in a worried tone.
Max gawked at her. "That thing? That's not a dinosaur! That's some ugly monster! That thing doesn't have move cards!" Max then turned his attention back to the dinosaurs. "Besides, that wasn't my point."
"Then what is?" Rex asks.
Max deepened his glare as he uttered his answer. "This is going to be an authentic, never before seen prehistoric dinosaur battle." he says.
Terry, Chomp, and Tank roared at their opponents, where Spiny and the Chimera roared back before both sides suddenly charged at each other. Spiny and Terry immediately went for each other, seeing each other as more of a threat, while the herbivores handled the Chimera. Spiny latched his crocodilian-like snout around Terry's neck and forced him to the ground while Chomp used his horns like they were swords to try and fend off the Chimera. This did nothing but anger the hybrid as it charged forward, it's massive horn almost impaling Chomp if it weren't for Tank to suddenly dive in and throw herself at the hybrid. Tank continued to throw herself against the Chimera before her leg was suddenly caught in the jaws of said Chimera, stopping the assault all together.
The Saichania roared out in pain as she swung her clubbed tail at the leg of the Chimera, knocking it to the ground but still caught in its jaws. It wasn't until Chomp charged at the hybrid that allowed her to escape from the fangs. In retaliation, the Chimera kicked Chomp right in the face before slashing a charging Tank with its massive claws, drawing blood on the side of Tank's body. The Saichania took a moment to retreat as the Chimera focused it's attention on another opponent, getting on all fours while growling. The hybrid suddenly charged forward like a raging rhino before it clashed with Chomp, their horns rubbing against each other like swords. The two retracted from each other as the Chimera dodged a tail swing from the clubbed ankylosaur afterwards. Tank and Chomp roared at their enemy as the Chimera let out a blood curdling scream in response.
Back with the other two theropods, Spiny continued to do the same as he did with Ace, which was continuously putting pressure on Terry. The Tyrannosaurus, having had enough of it, swiftly kicked Spiny in the face, knocking him backwards and finally freeing him from his crushing grasps. After having picked himself up, and simultaneously Spiny regaining his composure, Terry quickly charged towards the Spinosaurus, only for him to swing his massive tail across the Tyrannosaurus' face, causing him to stumble backwards. Spiny took this opportunity and lunged himself forward, snapping his jaws onto Terry's neck, his conical teeth instantly gripping into the T-Rex's throat. Terry roared out in pain and anger as he struggled to once again get out of the Spinosaurus' grasp, the two doing the dinosaur equivalent to a person struggling to get out of a headlock.
Back with the other three, the Chimera had managed to grab onto Chomp's horns with it's arms and therefore could control the direction of the Triceratops' head to an extent. Chomp roared out in panic and anger, having got caught in the hybrid's grasps with a tight grip around his horns. Thankfully for the Triceratops, Tank used this moment to try and take the Chimera out by a surprise clubbed tail swing. Unfortunately, the hybrid dinosaur caught Tank's tail in its jaws and clamped down onto it as the Saichania began to run in place in a panic. The Chimera then suddenly stepped on Chomp's head, forcing him to the ground as the hybrid began to walk all over the Triceratops, literally. While doing so, it was also lifting Tank up in the air as the Saichania squirmed in the Chimera's grasp, writhing around to no avail. With a hard thrust, the Chimera slammed Tank onto the ground so hard it left a crater and in doing so, turned Tank into a card.
"Tank's down!" Laura cries out in vain.
"This is bad. I don't think we're going to beat Spiny and the Chimera. We need to use a combo move, Rod." Max says to his friend.
"Uuuh, Terry's a little busy at the moment." Rod mutters as he watches the fight.
Spiny was shown to still have a grasp on Terry's neck as the Tyrannosaurus struggled to get out of Spiny's jaws. "Rod, use a move card to even the score!" Rex calls out.
"Good idea." Rod says as he activates a move card. "Go! Tail Smash!"
The move card's activation was enough for Terry to escape from Spiny's teeth, unfortunately leaving behind deep cuts into his neck from said teeth. The Tyrannosaurus quickly turned around and slapped Spiny in the face two times before delivering a strong swing to finish it off. Unfortunately for the Tyrannosaurus, Spiny quickly snapped his jaws onto his tail, once again getting him caught in his gripping teeth.
"Well at least he's not rung up by the neck." Rod muttered in defeat.
Back with Chomp and the Chimera, the hybrid roared out before clasping its jaws onto Chomp's left horn. Chomp struggled to free himself from the Chimera's grasp, his ball and socket neck joint allowing him to move his head more freely. The Chimera however continued to bite the Triceratops' horn, even adding more pressure to the horn as it started to crack. Having already been weakened from Terry back in the junkyard weeks ago, Chomp's horn continued to crack some more as both its owner and its attacker started to struggle in place. Chomp roared out in anger as he tried to free himself from the Chimera, which only proved to be more than a challenge.
Finally, after what appeared to be hours, the Chimera continued to add so much pressure on the horn due to its bite force, that in one final bite… half of Chomp's horn broke off. Bone fragments flew everywhere as the rest of Chomp's horn inside the Chimera's mouth shattered before it spat it out onto the ground.
"CHOMP!" Max cries out as everyone else gasps.
Chomp backed up as half of his left horn had broken off, the other half falling to the ground as the Chimera proceeded to slowly march its way forward to the terrified Triceratops. The Chimera growled as it squinted it's eyes at the herbivore, whom was for once frozen in place from utter fear. The Fist continued to watch from on top of the building, a small yet sinister smile forming on his lips. The Chimera continued to make its way forward as it continued to stare down at the terrified Triceratops. But for some reason, it hadn't attacked him yet.
"Why isn't it attacking?" Rod asks in curiosity.
Unbeknownst to absolutely anyone at all, the Chimera could NOT see Chomp even if he was right in front of it. The reason why was because in the Chimera's vision, Chomp had blended in with the environment. The Chimera's vision was also to be revealed to be colorless and blurry, meaning that it's vision was based on movement all together.
Yes, I know.
Because it could not see Chomp, it decided to go join the other battle going on, seeing Terry finally freeing himself from Spiny's grasp before knocking him to the ground. The Chimera growled as it abandoned it's fight with Chomp and started to approach the two battling theropods.
Many of the workers inside the actual building were currently running around like ants in a panic. With the sudden attack by the two teams, the Fist had ordered everyone to evacuate to the extraction point and relocate to their secondary hideout. Problem was that many of the workers and scientists inside were not prepared for the sudden attack in the slightest and were all scurrying around trying to save their research before the entire system got wiped clean as part of security protocol.
"Let's hurry up, people! We only have a few minutes until extraction and back up arrive!" shouts a soldier with the name tag of McGruff. "The Fist has ordered this as a lost base! Pack up everything and take whatever you have to the helicopter to extract to the secondary location!"
"Sergeant!" shouts a researcher. "Someone has breached our servers and they're copying and deleting all original files we have. Contacts. Projects. Blueprints. You name it."
"Did you find the source of the hack?" Sgt. McGruff asks.
"It's in this building, sir."
Sgt. McGruff turned his attention to the soldiers in the back. "Get your ass down to the server room and waste the asshole stealing from us!"
"Yes, sir!" shout the soldiers as they all run towards the exit. oh
While all of this was happening, the crazy mutant doctor continued to hide down in the server room, doing his own kinds of mischief in the making. "Oooh. Data. Data. And more data! There are even some files in here too!" Dr. Z giggled like a schoolgirl as he hacked into the main system. "I wonder what we'll find. Maybe a secret fetish that McCallum guy has, or maybe that Wrench moron. Oooh, I wonder if I can dig up any dirt on the Fist. I wonder what he's hiding. Hopefully not skeletons in his closet, because I'M already doing that! In more ways than one too, Bartholomew. HA!"
Clearly sharing a single body was more than enough for the already crazy doctor to go off the deep end and go clinically insane. Think of it like multiple personality disorder except with two personalities. Or an annoying roommate.
Anyway, Dr. Z continued to spy through the various files he had hacked into. "Hmm. Look here, Bartholomew." he says as he stares at the screen. "Looks like the Fist was researching data about bio-genetics. That must be how he created that Chimera thing. Of course it was, you flesh monkey! How else would old, white Mike Tyson create that abomination! Oh, I don't know, Bartholomew. Most of my research stems from Google and YouTube." He suddenly switched to another file. "And look here! That Wrench's guys blueprints to a machine that seems like it strengthens a dinosaur. Hmmm, sounds similar to what I've been working on. Let's steal it! Oooh, you read my mind, Bartholomew!… Oh wait."
The crazed doctor clicked on the file and added it to his thumb drive, currently taking a longer time to download than the rest of the data he stole. "Ooooh. Are we going to 'surf the web' now, doctor? Not yet, Bartholomew. We've still got so much more delicious data to steal. The more they lose, the more we gain. I'm like Robin Hood except it's all for me! Me! Me! Me! Me! ME!"
*BANG! BANG! BANG!*
"Open up!" shouts a muffled voice from behind the door, scaring the doctor. "Whoever is in there, we know you're stealing our data! Come out with your hands up!"
"Dude, we have the keys. Just use them." says another voice.
"Oh yeah. That's right."
"Damn it! Not good!" Dr. Z/Bartholomew exclaimed in shock. "I haven't collected enough data yet! I need to buy more time!" His eyes suddenly changed to that of Bartholomew's. "You mean I will have to."
Bartholomew suddenly turned around and instantly bit down on the circuit box that controlled the lights in the room, completely destroying it as sparks flew out. The lights all turned off as Dr. Z quickly turned off the monitor for the server's computer, completely blackening the place. At the same time, the doors were kicked open as several soldiers all walked inside, using the hallway light as a light source to guide them through the dark room.
"Where is he?" asks a soldier.
"It's dark in here. Can't tell." says another.
Through Bartholomew's vision, he could clearly see the many soldiers inside the dark room thanks to his predatory vision, using the darkness to conceal himself as he made his way towards the door. The soldiers were so busy trying to find the intruder that they didn't notice him behind him until he suddenly closed the door behind them, making the room dark once more.
"Someone's in here!"
"Get that door open, now!"
All of a sudden, the sound of a screech followed by a snarl boomed inside the small room as something pounced on one of the soldiers, pinning him to the ground as the soldier screamed in horror. "AAAAAH! GET IT OFF! GET IT-"
His words were cut off when the sound of flesh ripping was heard followed by liquid splashing. All of a sudden, one by one each of the soldiers were pounced on by Bartholomew as he started to viciously maul each and every single one of the soldiers inside the room. Needless to say, getting attacked in the dark was enough to panic the soldiers as they all started screaming bloody murder, some even firing their weapons in the room, momentarily lighting it up to reveal Bartholomew pouncing towards another soldier.
Outside, the sounds of muffled screaming and the gunfire briefly lighting up the room was shown as arterial spray painted the door's window. A bloody soldier suddenly fell towards the door's window before sliding down, leaving behind a bloody hand print as Bartholomew continued to maul each and every one of the soldiers inside the room.
Spiny was kicked right in the face by Terry's foot, knocking him to the ground and also giving Terry the momentarily advantage of the fight. However, what the Tyrannosaurus didn't take account of was the charging hybrid coming his way from the side. Terry's reaction was too late as the Chimera bit down onto Terry's neck causing the Tyrannosaurus to roar in surprise as he stumbled around. At the same time, Spiny was picking himself up while Terry had managed to slither out of the Chimera's fangs before putting some distance in between.
"Go, Terry! Use Fire Cannon!" Rod exclaims as he activates the move card.
Terry glowed red as fire formed in his mouth before firing a large fireball towards the Chimera's direction. Unfortunately for the T-Rex, the Chimera smacked the fireball with its tail, instantly destroying it before charging. As Terry was forming fire in his mouth, the Chimera slammed itself directly in the side of the tyrant king, interrupting the attack while also having Terry accidentally fire the fireball. Said fireball made its way towards an unsuspecting Spiny, striking him directly as he stumbled to the ground, destroying a piece of machinery attached to the ground at the same time.
For once in the battle, Spiny was starting to get tired as he panted heavily on the ground, something Mr. McCallum noticed. "It appears Spino is starting to slow down." he says in minor disappointment.
"Then let me finish this." says Sullivan over Mr. McCallum's earpiece, prompting him to turn around to see his employer observing from atop the roof.
"Come on, Terry! Shake him off!" Rod calls out to the Tyrannosaurus.
Terry bellowed in anger as he struggled to get out of the Chimera's grasp while the hybrid used its massive arm to try and pin the T-Rex down, albeit with a struggle. Meanwhile, Spiny shook his head and regained his composure before approaching the conflicting dinosaurs. As the Spinosaurus approached them, the Chimera momentarily released Terry and snapped its jaws at Spiny, growling in anger as the Spinosaurus backed up.
"What's it doing? I thought they were on the same side?" Zoe questions aloud.
"Fist," Mr. McCallum sternly says. "please control your creation before it compromises this entire battle."
"Leave the Chimera alone." Sullivan sternly replies. "You do not want to anger a predator during a hunt."
"Understood." Mr. McCallum says over the earpiece.
Unbeknownst to the Fist his former employee and enforcer, Jericho, continued to spy on not only the battle but on the Fist as well. "The Grand Master would want to know about this bag of mutant fossils." Jericho whispers to himself as he quickly snaps a picture of the Chimera.
The Chimera roared at Spiny as the Spinosaurus backed up, knowing full well not to disturb a top predator with its meal. Unfortunately, it's 'meal' decided it was time to retaliate as Terry swung his tail across the Chimera's face like a bitch slap. After taking care of the hybrid, Terry charged towards his former friend, head butting the Spinosaurus before roaring at him. In return, Spiny hissed back as he momentarily got on all fours before charging at the Tyrannosaurus. Once again, the two large theropods used their bodies as a way to knock each other down like sumo wrestlers… again.
Like last time, Spiny used his massive hook-like claws to scratch the sides of Terry, alongside his yellow stripes all the way to the tip of his snout. Needless to say, the claws penetrated Terry's hide and spilled blood as the Tyrannosaurus bellowed in pain. In retaliation, Terry head butted Spiny before taking a bite to Spiny's leg, causing the Spinosaurus to growl and hiss like a crocodile. Spiny took a quick swipe across Terry's face before snapping his jaws at him, barely hitting him as Terry growled in response, snapping his own jaws at the spinosaurid. This time however, Terry managed to grab ahold of Spiny's neck momentarily before taking a quick snap at his thigh, bringing the Spinosaurus down to the ground. When he fell to the ground, Spiny started to pant heavily, his energy slowly diminishing and his movements starting to slow.
"Looks like Spiny is starting to tire." Rod assesses the situation.
"Yeah, all we need is to-" Laura suddenly turned to the side and gasped. "Terry! Behind you!"
The Tyrannosaurus turned around but his reaction was too late when the Chimera suddenly latched it's jaws around his neck from below. Terry bellowed in pain as he was once again caught in the jaws of death as the hybrid continuously put pressure into his bite force. "He's trapped!" Rod cries out.
"Chomp! Go help Terry!" Max orders.
The Triceratops hesitated as he began to dance in place, obviously panicked that his ally was getting attacked but also not wanting to die a horrible death from the Chimera.
"Chomp!"
"I think he's scared, Max." Rex replies. "He wants to help Terry but…"
"But I don't think he wants to deal with the Chimera. You saw what it did to his horn." Zoe explains.
Max gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. "Grrrr. Chomp! Come on! Help Terry!" Max frantically orders. When Chomp continued to hesitate, the brunette knew he had to do things on his own. "Alright, fine. Looks like I'll have to do things myself." He says as he pulls out a move card and inserts it into the slot. "Lightning Strike!" he shouts as he shoots a yellow beam towards Chomp.
Chomp glowed yellow as lightning formed at the tip of his horn and from his broken one as it formed a ball. The Triceratops roared before unleashing the electricity and shooting towards the dueling dinosaurs. Seeing the attack, the Chimera snapped around and used Terry's body to block the attack, resulting in the Tyrannosaurus to get electrocuted.
"No! Not Terry!" Max cries out.
"It's no use, Max. Chomp needs to get in there if he wants to help Terry." Rex informs his friend.
"You don't think I don't know that?! Chomp! Seriously! Get in there!" Max orders. Chomp stared at the dinosaurs, seeing Terry literally fighting for his life as he struggled to get out of the Chimera's jaws. He really wanted to help but after dealing with the Chimera himself, he was starting to have second thoughts. "CHOOOOOOOOOOMP!"
While all of this was happening, the flipped over and totaled armored car continued to emit steam from its destroyed engine. Inside, the Alpha Trio were still unconscious, their arms hanging in the air as they were still in their seats upside down. It was Ursula first who was starting to regain consciousness as her bruised and cut face started to move followed by pained groaning. She slowly opened her eyes as she rubbed her head, a gash on the side as blood trickled down her cheek.
"Oh God." she groans in pain. "Ed?… Zander? You guys alright?"
"Ugh. Jesus." Zander groans as he rubs his head in pain. "I have a head for ten."
"What happened?" Ed asks as he rubs a gash on his head.
"What does it look like? We crashed? Are you guys alright?" she asks them.
"Yeah, we're fine. What about him?" Zander gestures to Foster next to her.
Ursula turned to the driver, noticed that his face was also deeply cut and bruised as well, and nudged him before checking his pulse on his neck. "He's dead." she reveals grimly.
"Lucky him." Ed groans as Zander unbuckles his seatbelt, resulting in him falling on the ceiling of the flipped over car.
Ursula opened the passenger side door which fell off its hinges as she and the other two crawled out of the car. The sounds of dinosaurs fighting and wails of pain got her attention as she turned to the battle while Zander helped Ed get out of the car. "Terry?" she says, immediately recognizing the cry.
To her horror, she saw Terry currently struggling for his life as his neck was still inside the jaws of the Chimera. The Tyrannosaurus continued to struggle as the Chimera continued to add more and more pressure into his bite. Both teams could only gawk in shock, feeling useless as they were unable to do anything at the moment.
"Rod! Use a move card!" Max orders in a frantic tone.
"I can't! Even if I use one, Terry is still trapped in the Chimera's jaws." Rod informs.
"I don't care! Just use it!"
"Alright." Rod agrees as he brings out a move card. "Volcano Burst!"
Terry's eyes emitted fire as he glowed red before building up flames in his mouth; unfortunately, the Chimera added more pressure to its bite, resulting in the flames to immediately get extinguished in Terry's mouth.
"It's no use! He can't do anything!" Rod cries out, now starting to panic.
"Terry." Rex murmurs.
Terry continued to struggle in the Chimera's grasp as he bellowed in pain while the Chimera continued to add more pressure into its bite while growling at the same time. Finally, after what appeared to be hours of struggling, the Chimera gave one more powerful bite to Terry's neck, resulting in its teeth penetrating Terry's hide and throat. The sounds of bone cracking was heard as Terry's eyes widened in shock before slowly closing. Everyone gasped when they heard the loud sound, including Ursula who stared at the scene in utter shock. The Chimera gently decreased its bite force pressure and threw Terry's body to the ground.
"Terry?" Rod mutters in shock.
Terry continued to breathe heavily as the Chimera placed its foot on top of the Tyrannosaurus. His life was fading from existence as he was losing all feeling in his body and after a final breath, Terry slowly closed his eyes… and left.
"TERRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" Ursula screams at the top of her lungs as tears fall from her eyes.
"Turn him back into a card! Quick!" Zoe orders in a panic.
"We can't." Laura solemnly mumbles, surprising the three.
"Why not?"
Laura continued to stare at Terry's lifeless body lying in the middle of the field before answering. "Because once they die… they can never turn back into a card." she replies.
The little girl couldn't take it any longer as she suddenly hugged Rod and began to cry into his chest, the boy patting Laura's head as he too began to sob.
"So…" Max looked back at the T-Rex. "So he's… gone?"
"No… Terry." Zoe muttered in shock.
Spiny approached the Tyrannosaurus' body and just stared at it while the Chimera let out a blood curdling scream-like roar into the air in victory. From up above, Sullivan grew a satisfying smirk after witnessing first hand what his creation could do, being even more powerful than a T-Rex.
Despite being mind controlled by Mr. McCallum, Spiny still felt a bit saddened by Terry's demise, something in his mind telling him that this was someone he once knew and was well acquainted with. For a split second, a tear escaped Spiny's eyes before Mr. McCallum regained control over his brain as the Spinosaurus let out a benevolent roar that ended in a growl. Both theropods turned to the only standing dinosaur in the field: Chomp, whom backed up once he realized he was outnumbered and after witnessing what happened to Terry, wanted nothing more than to flee. The two theropods slowly approached the Triceratops and growled as they barred their fangs.
"Chomp!" Max cries out, fearing for his friend's life.
Spiny was the one to attack first as he lunged toward the Triceratops, whom dodged out of the way just in time. In retaliation, Chomp struck the Spinosaurus in the side and knocked him to the ground, only for the Chimera to suddenly headbutt him. Chomp tumbled to the ground before quickly picking himself back up as the Chimera snapped its jaws at the Triceratops, whom used his horn as a sword for defensive purposes. Chomp defiantly roared at the hybrid before roaring at Spiny, whom managed to pick himself up and rejoin the battle.
"I'm not losing you, Chomp!" Max calls out as he inserts a move card into the slot before firing a yellow beam towards his dinosaur. "Thunder Driver!"
Chomp absorbed the yellow beam and glowed yellow before charging towards the Spinosaurus, using his head to throw the therapod high in the air. Afterwards, Chomp charged himself full of electricity before jumping into the air where he started to spin towards a falling Spiny. Chomp struck Spiny and pumped electricity into him before they both came crashing to the ground with the Triceratops driving the Spinosaurus into it. After a while, Chomp leaped out of the small crater he formed as Spiny continued to get electrocuted before it suddenly stopped, leaving an exhausted Spinosaurus in place. To everyone's surprise, Spiny still hanged on as he picked himself up, albeit panting heavily, obviously growing tired and weak from the fierce battle.
At the same time as this was happening, a pile of bloody, mauled soldier corpses littered the server room as the sound of flesh ripping followed by growling was heard. "N- NO! No! No! PLEA-" The man's pleas were met with silence as the sounds of fleshing tearing was heard afterwards. Moments afterwards, a crippled soldier crawled through the bloody floor in a desperate attempt to escape. However, much to his unfortunate luck, his escape abruptly ended when he felt the pressure of someone's shoe on top of his back.
"I still say we went a bit too far, Bartholomew." Dr. Z calmly says as he wipes off blood from his suit and beard. "After all… THESE LAB COATS ARE EXPENSIVE!" Dr. Z yelled at his second half. "I'll admit, I went a bit too far back there. But you cannot deny that was the most thrilling thing to ever happen in your life, can you?" Bartholomew replies back.
Dr. Z rubbed his beard in response. "Hmm, touché." he agrees. "But what would be even more thrilling is finding out what Black Eagle had hidden in your sock drawers away from us. My thumb drive should almost be done. I cannot download everything with one thumb drive after all. You didn't think of bringing more thumb drives?" Dr. Z grew a shocked look and quickly shut up, realizing his second half had a point.
A bing from the computer was enough to divert his attention away from the awkward moment. "It's done! Finally!" The mad doctor approached the main server's computer and quickly ejected his hard drive. "You did not activate 'safe eject'. Oh shut up, Bartholomew! I don't care what happens to this computer."
Dr. Z suddenly turned to the computer and pondered for a moment. After said moment, he quickly opened up a Google tab and typed in 'rainbow dash feet naked' in the search bar and clicked it. "Heh. Heh." Dr. Z chuckled before quickly bolting it out of the room and down the hall. When he reached the intersection, he noticed a door on the right side down a small corridor that had the sign 'Wrench's Lab' over it. "That Wrench guy's lab. There could be more data. You fool! You do not HAVE more space! You cannot get more data! Well, if we cannot collect more data… then why don't we destroy it." Dr. Z maliciously says as he and his second half momentarily morphed together.
The crazed doctor entered the room where he was greeted with three large test tubes that covered half of the room, all filled with green fluid inside. Along the perimeter was a counter that split at the door side that followed along to the end where it meets the test tube. "Hmm. For an ugly guy he sure has a nice lab. Sure brings out secret evil scientist out." Dr. Z admires before suddenly growing a malicious, toothy grin. "Too bad I must break it! Nyahahahahahahahahahaha!"
Dr. Z allowed Bartholomew to take control as he went to town in the lab, destroying various test tubes, pieces of machinery, computers, anything to quench his thirst for destruction. One particular object that Bartholomew had managed to destroy was the control beacon that allowed Mr. McCallum to mind control Spiny. Bartholomew grabbed the control beacon and shook it around before destroying it in his jaws, effectively shutting down all control Mr. McCallum had on Spiny.
Inside Spiny's body, the control chip that allowed Mr. McCallum to control the spinosaurus suddenly had its light turn from white to red, meaning all connection had been lost. Spiny's eyes shot wide open as his pupils went from dilated to lizard-like in an instant as he roared out into the air before retreating momentarily. "What's going on?" Laura asks, wondering about Spiny's sudden behavior change.
"What?" Mr. McCallum gasps as he looks at his gloved hand before turning back to Spiny. He clenched his fist and thrusted it forward, expecting the Spinosaurus to charge only for the theropod to stumble around a bit. "No! The connection! It's gone!"
"Then fix it." Sullivan says over the earpiece.
Instead of 'fixing it', Mr. McCallum quickly took off the glove and threw it to the ground, stepping on it as sparks emitted from the broken machinery inside. "Forget it, Nash! They severed the connection from the source! No amount of 'fixing' will help! I'm getting out of here!"
"Adam, if you leave you are abandoning your line of duty."
"I am not one of your dogs that you can boss around, Nash. Unlike them, I actually value my life. Now I'm leaving and heading to extraction whether you like it or not! We can deal with this another time!"
With that said, Mr. McCallum grabbed his earpiece and crushed it in his palm before bolting out of there. From above, Sullivan simply watched his man run from the battle, all while sneering down at him in a judging glare. Down below, Spiny shook his head as he slowly regained both his consciousness and control over his own mind. Before he could assess the situation, Chomp rammed into him like a raging rhino and threw him towards the main building where he crashed into it. The Spinosaurus laid in the rubble as he painted heavily, still hanging on as he laid his head on the ground to take a moment to rest.
"Looks like Spiny's out of commission." Rod says aloud.
"Chomp! Behind you!" Max warns his partner.
But it was too late as the Chimera bit down onto Chomp's frill from behind while simultaneously stepping on the Triceratops to prevent him from fleeing.
"Terry!" Ursula cries out as she limps her way towards the Tyrannosaurus' body. "Terry." She murmurs as she hugs his snout. "Oh, Terry. Why? Why? Why? WHY?! This is my fault, Terry. I should've been there for you. I shouldn't have been off chasing after some guy in the shadows. I should've been by your side." Ursula started to cry as she kept on hugging Terry's snout. "I'm sorry… I'm so, so sorry, Terry."
Ed and Zander stood afar, both staring solemnly at Terry's body while sharing a moment of silence, knowing and respecting that Ursula wanted to be alone for a moment.
Meanwhile, Chomp's frill was still caught in the Chimera's jaws while it's foot still pinned him down. All he could do was wail in agony. "Come on, Chomp! You've got to fight!" Max calls out to his partner.
Hearing his partner's pleas, Chomp used all of his strength to pick himself up and throw the Chimera's foot off of him, yet it still held a firm grip on his thrill. The Triceratops then suddenly began to shake violently like a bucking bronco to try and shake the Chimera off of his head. Much to everyone's surprise, the Chimera had released Chomp and freed him only to bite his tail and drag him away in response. Chomp slid on the ground before quickly picking himself back up, only to come face to face with the Chimera. The Triceratops began to back up in utter fear as the Chimera slowly marched its way towards its prey, all while Chomp howled in the air in a panic.
Terry continued to lie motionless on the ground as Ursula kept crying on his snout. The sounds of Chomp roaring in the distance were heard followed by the Chimera's scream. However, the sounds were quickly replaced by the sounds of a baby animal crying, it's cries echoing in the distance. This cry went unheard by everyone, as the cry was merely a figment of someone's imagination. Nothing more than a bad memory from someone's past…
…
…
…
…Terry's eyes suddenly shot wide open as he glared at the sky. Ursula continued to cry on his snout when it was suddenly lifted in the air, startling the greenette as she watched the thought to be dead Tyrannosaurus stand up.
Chomp continued to back up in fear as the Chimera barred its jaws at him before roaring at the Triceratops. Unbeknownst to it, Terry glared from behind as he let out a throat vibrating growl that immediately caught the Chimera's attention. The Chimera turned around and roared at Terry, angered that he was back up, having thought it killed him earlier. The D-Team, Rod and Laura all grew flabbergasted expressions once they saw Terry rejoin the fight, all having thought he perished.
"Terry?" Rod murmurs in surprise.
Terry roared in rage at the Chimera whom roared back, his attention now turning back to the other apex predator in the area. Having forgotten about Chomp, the Triceratops roared at the hybrid, briefly turning its attention to the herbivore where it angrily roared at Chomp in an attempt to intimidate him. Unfortunately, this gave Terry the chance at revenge as he roared angrily at the Chimera before chanting at it, shoving the hybrid into Chomp where his horn impaled right through the Chimera's thigh. The hybrid roared out in agonizing pain as it pushed itself off of the Triceratops, half of his horn coated in blood. The Chimera kneeled to the ground before facing Terry, roaring in rage at the Tyrannosaurs for crippling it.
Sullivan however was less than pleased at this, visible by his shocked yet angry expression on his face.
Back with Spiny, the theropod had managed to regain consciousness as he picked himself up and stood up, shaking any debris he had on him from the crash. The last thing he remembered was being experimented on by Mr. McCallum before everything turned into a blank. The sounds of roaring alerted him as he turned to the dinosaur battle, where he saw the Chimera slashing Terry with his arm. Seeing as this was the first thing Spiny saw before regaining consciousness, he noticed that half of Chomp's left horn was gone while his other horn was coated in blood. He noticed the Chimera kneeling on the ground with a large hole in its leg followed by a badly scratched and bloody Terry, whom roared at the crippled dinosaur.
Now it was all coming to Spiny. Now he knew who his real enemies were.
The Chimera continued to roar at its enemies until it was interrupted by a raging, crocodilian roar from afar. Everyone turned their attention to the main building where Spiny was shown charging towards the dinosaur fight.
"Oh great! Spiny's back!" Zoe exclaims in shock.
"Look out, Terry!" Rod warns his dinosaur.
Terry roared at Spiny as he continued to charge… right passed him and towards the Chimera. Needless to say, everyone was shocked at this.
"Huh?!"
"Wait. What?"
The Chimera roared out loud before he was suddenly silenced when Spiny bit down on its neck, causing it to bellow in pain. Spiny used his massive arms to get a firm grip on the Chimera's head as he continued to bite its neck. The Spinosaurus massive claws even dug into the hybrid's eye, instantly blinding it while also drawing blood. The Chimera bellowed in pain as it tried to escape the Spinosaurus' grasp, the tables turning in a second.
Finally, Spiny roared in rage before twisting the Chimera's neck, a deafening SNAP! echoing in the area as the Chimera's body immediately went limp.
"NO!" Sullivan shouts in shock.
Spiny threw the Chimera's body on the ground as he placed his foot on its neck, growling at the dead hybrid as he just glared at the corpse of his enemy. After growling some more, Spiny let out a voracious, triumphant roar that echoed throughout the air while standing over the dead hybrid.
"SPINY!" Everyone cheers at the sight of their friend coming back.
Terry joined in on the road followed by Chomp as all three dinosaurs roared in the air in victory. Sullivan however was the only one not pleased with the battle. Instead of throwing a tantrum like a stereotypical villain, the Fist merely glared down at the dinosaurs.
"Next time will be different. I guarantee you… D-Team." Sullivan mutters in anger.
He reached for the back of his neck and pulled the neuron chip that allowed him to control the Chimera. He pulled it out of his skin, bringing out blood before he crushed the chip in his hands, scowling in hatred at the teams.
"Chomp!" Max calls out as he rushes over to his friend. "Are you alright?" Chomp gave his response in the form of a gentle nudge as he nuzzled against Max's cheek. "I'll take that as a yes."
"Terry!" Ursula cries as the Tyrannosaurus lowered his head to her. "I thought you were… I thought… I thought you were gone and I- I just couldn't-" Before the greenette could continue, Terry gently nuzzled his snout and carressed her face, immediately stopping the tears falling from his eyes. "I love you so much, Terry."
Terry licked Ursula's entire face in response, though she didn't even care in the slightest that it was disgusting.
"SPINY!" Zander cries as he hugs Spiny's about. "I'm sorry for losing you! I promise I won't ever let it happen again! I swear!"
Spiny nuzzled Zander before lifting him up in the air, all while the tall man laughed as he continued to hug his friend. Rex and Zoe both smiled as their friends were reunited with their partners, all relieved that they were fine. It was then that a thought struck Rex.
"Wait. Did someone get the Centrosaurus' card?" he asks.
"Oh yeah. I completely forgot that guy even existed." Max sheepishly replies as he rubs the back of his head.
"It's over there!" Laura exclaims as she points to the three cards, which were not far from where they were.
However, before they could even move a muscle, Jericho suddenly landed on the cards and picked them up, much to both teams' surprise. "Sorry, mates." he mockingly apologizes. "But I came here for this fossil and I ain't feelin' like returning empty handed. I'll see you kiddies later."
With that said, he twisted his watch-like device and pressed the screen as he instantly teleported out from the base and escaped with the card. "Great! I forgot he was here!" Rex shouts in anger as the other three recalled their dinosaurs into their cards.
"Look on the bright side. Spiny's back." Zander says as he holds up Spiny's card.
"And we learned more about the Fist and what his goals are." Zoe adds.
"Yeah, I guess that's true." Rex agrees.
"Woah!" Max exclaims, looking down at Ed's metal leg. "You have a metal leg?! Dude, that is awesome!"
The moment was interrupted when they heard the sounds of engines coming their way followed by the sounds of a helicopter starting up. The teams looked behind to see a whole convoy of Black Eagle soldiers driving their way towards them.
"I don't feel like testing our luck again. Let's get out of here!" Ursula yells in a panic.
"Wait! Where's Dr. Z?!" Ed asks, having now realized he wasn't with them.
"Huh?" Ursula says in realization as well. "Wait! When did we lose him?! I- I completely forgot he existed! Where did he go?!"
*KABOOM!*
The sudden explosion caught the teams off guard as they suddenly turned to the main building, where smoke and flames were flying high into the sky. At that moment, Dr. Z came running out of the building for his life, all while laughing like an absolute madman.
"Nyahahahahahahahahaha!" he cackles. "I planted several explosives in the base so this place is about to go SKY HIGH! It was my idea. No, it wasn't! It was mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! MINE! Nyahahahahahahahahahahahaha!"
"Wait! What?!" Max exclaims in shock.
"If I were you, I'd teleport out of here!" Dr. Z warns the teens. "Ursula! Zander! And Ed. Head back to the plane and give me a piggyback ride!"
"But you can run just-"
"I SAID GIMME A PIGGYBACK RIDE!" Dr. Z yells, interrupted Ed.
"Yes, doctor." the three complied as they carried the mutant doctor back the way they came in. "Onwards! If we don't move now we'll all go extinct!"
"Uuh, good idea!" Max agrees as he presses a button on his DinoShot, teleporting away.
"Same here!" Everyone else says as they all simultaneously teleport out of the base.
Unbeknownst to them, the Fist witnessed the whole scene, including Jericho stealing the card. Evident by a betrayed glare on his face before leaving the roof of the building, just in time for the Black Eagle back up to arrive on the scene.
Wrench sat amongst many Black Eagle employees, both soldier and researcher type, as he sat inside a Sea Knight helicopter preparing to take off. He bounced his knee impatiently as he had been waiting for ten minutes now for take off, and yet here they were still grounded waiting for more employees to leave. "Mr. McCallum, this way." says a soldier, earning the man's attention.
Wrench saw his colleague, Mr. McCallum, enter the Sea Knight who took a seat across from him. "This did not go according to plan." he grumbles in visible anger.
"Nothing goes according to plan, Adam. If it did, we wouldn't be in this mess." Wrench mockingly replies with a grin.
"I could easily replace you, you know that?" Mr. McCallum threatens with a glare.
"If you could, you would've done so by now." Wrench argues with a sly grin.
Mr. McCallum said nothing, instead just opted to glare daggers at the young man. "Fist!" shouts a soldier, earning both men's attention. The two saw their boss and employer approach the Sea Knight before entering in it, sitting next to Mr. McCallum as the Sea Knight's doors closed. The helicopter flew in the air as more passengers took up the next Sea Knight that was right beside it. The two men said nothing as the Fist continued to glare daggers at the floor, deep in thought.
"Nash?" Mr. McCallum says, trying to break his attention. "What is it?"
"Isn't it obvious?" the Fist replies before turning to the man. "We're not the only ones searching for these dinosaurs."
The Sea Knight was shown flying into the sky and far away from the abandoned headquarters.
While everyone else went on the mission, Reese was left behind to guard the plane and wait for everyone else to return. Which was taking a long time, evident by the extremely bored expression on her face as she was reading a news article on her phone. She scrolled through the article that was currently about how laxatives cause erectile dysfunction. Whether or not this was satirical was unknown but if one were to look to the side, they would see a different article that head the headline "MYSTERIOUS TEENAGER SHOWN DRIVING YAKUZA DRUG TRUCK TO TOKYO" with what appeared to be a photo of Francis taken from a security camera driving in the front seat of a truck.
Reese continued to read the bullshit article that looked like it came from the Onion when the sudden sounds of yelling caught her attention. She looked ahead to see the Alpha Trio carrying Dr. Z as they ran as fast as they could, all while shouting frantically at her.
"Reese!"
"Start the plane!"
"Hurry! Start the plane!"
Reese wasted no time in starting up the plane and opened up the door for the passengers to ride along. Shortly afterwards, the trio made it inside as Zander took his place in the cockpit where he placed on a headset. The plane started up as Ed closed the door, the aircraft moving forward as it was slowly gaining speed before taking off into the air.
"Zander, what happened? Why are you all… beaten up?" Reese asks the bruised man.
"You're better off not knowing." he mumbled as he flipped a switch. "We need to get out of here."
"Why? What's going on?" she asks.
A loud, muffled BOOM! was her answer as an explosion blew up in the air, flames and smoke flying in the sky behind them as they continued to fly away from the base. Said base was now up in flames with most of it's buildings destroyed either from the bomb itself or from the dinosaur battle, right as the back up team arrived. The shock radius was enough to shatter the vehicle windows and send some soldiers flying a few feet as smoke covered the entire base with an ominous orange glow in the center.
"Now that's what I call going out with a bang! Ha! Cheesy. You're cheesy!" Dr. Z argued with his second half.
"What was that, doctor?" Reese asks, peeking her head from the cockpit.
"That my blonde, friend was a bomb I planted inside that Wrench guy's laboratory, destroying everything he worked on all while I stole some precious data and information straight from Black Eagle's computer. We never even got a chance to 'surf the web'." Bartholomew finishes.
Reese suddenly turned to the tall man sitting beside her. "Did you rescue Spiny?" she asks in a concerned tone.
Zander smiled as he pulled out the Spinosaurus' card. "Safe and sound!" he exclaims in glee. Reese smiled in response, genuinely happy her friend got his best friend back before turning back ahead. "Reese." Zander suddenly says to her, prompting her to turn to the side where she saw the tall man giving her a heartfelt look. "Thank you."
Reese gave a small smile in response. "Any time." she quietly replies.
With that, the mission was over as the plane flew into the blue sky and towards their destination. Home.
GRAND MASTER'S HIDEOUT - UNKNOWN LOCATION
The massive doors slid open as a tall shadow of a man from the moonlight walked inside the building, revealing it to be Jericho as he confidently marched his way inside the building. From the side sat Ungaro and Carter, both brandishing their weapons while Él Matacho sat on a crate beside his own right hand man, the Havana man. "Oi, Seth! You blue haired, triangle cheeked drongo! I've got a present for ya!" Jericho shouted in the building to alert his boss' attention.
To which he gained as Seth walked along the catwalk of the building, leaning against the railing. "I take it the mission was a success?" Seth asks from above.
Jericho simply flashed the Centrosaurus card in response while giving a cheeky grin, before realizing something. "Where's the Grand Master?" he asks.
"Out on business. You guys won't be seeing him any time soon." he informs them.
"Oooooh," Ungaro mockingly says as he stands up with a hunting knife in his hand. "does that mean you whacked him and now you're the big man now?"
"Don't be foolish, Ungaro. No one can kill the Grand Master." Seth sternly tells the man.
"Jeez, man. I was just joking."
"Ya know what isn't a joke? The fact I was able to get a card on me first mission while you've been on several and came back with an empty handbasket, you bloody skinner you." Jericho mocked the man.
"Fuck off." Ungaro tells him.
"The Grand Master wanted me to tell you all that there's going to be another Horsemen meeting. This time in Morocco." Seth informs the group.
"How many of these meetings are we going to go to by any chance?" Él Matacho suddenly asks from his spot.
Seth turned to the Hispanic man and blankly stared at him. "As many as the Grand Master decides. Radio Roscoe. He may be allowed to do his own thing while we work but he's obligated to show up for these meetings. I'm getting tired of not seeing his face from time to time." he orders the man.
"I'll fly to Vegas as soon as I can, señor." he obliges.
"One more thing I wanted to show ya, Seth." Jericho suddenly speaks up.
Seth turned to the aussie. "What is it?" he asks.
Jericho chuckled and grinned, pulling out the photo he took of the Chimera. "Something that'll definitely pique your interest." he evily says with a wicked grin.
However, unbeknownst to any of them, the tracking device that Jackson had placed on Jericho's pants was still active and still transmitting a signal. Now it was the Fist's turn to break into the Grand Master's home, although it would have to wait for another time.
After the mission, both teams made their way back to the Backland, with Helga and Jonathan treating the serious wounds the Alpha Trio sustained from the car wreck. Their heads and arms were bandaged while Ed had his metal leg taken off by Dr. Z himself, whom was currently working on said leg at his workbench.
"AKH! So much blood! It is like a butcher shop!" Helga exclaims as she throws some bloody clothes in a washing machine.
"You guys alright?" Zoe asks the trio as they were getting patched up by Jonathan.
"My scans show no internal injury in them. With some rest and relaxation, they should be fine by the end of the week." Jonathan replies as he wraps Ed's arm in medical tape.
"That's good to hear." the pinkette sighs in relief.
"Sorry that happened to you, guys." Max apologizes to the three with a sympathetic expression.
"I just feel bad for the driver. He was actually kind of nice." Zander says with a sling around his arm.
"So Ed," Rex suddenly says. "are you going to tell us what's up with your missing leg?"
The short, fat man froze in place once he realized he still had to explain his lack of a leg. "It's alright, Ed." Dr. Z says from his workbench, not turning around. "It was only a matter of time before they found out."
"About his leg?" Max questions.
"I thought you said it was healing. You were in a wheelchair for a while." Zoe says to the man.
"That was because I was still getting used to this leg Dr. Z built for me." he replies.
"Dr. Z made that for you?" Max asks.
"Ever since that Giganotosaurus broke it back in Canada, the doctors had to amputate it because it was beyond repair." Ed explains. "Dr. Z made me this leg as a replacement because he still wanted me to go out on missions. And also, in his words, 'Those doctors are inferior when compared to me.' He told me to keep quiet about it because he didn't want you all to worry about me. This leg is better than a prosthetic!"
"Why's that?" Zoe asks.
"Because this 'bionic leg' as I call it attaches itself to Ed's nervous system, allowing him full control of it as if it was an actual leg! Granted, it hurts like hell when you insert it and take it off." Dr. Z answers before tightening the last bolt. "There we go. Alright, Ed, time for the not-so-fun part. Get ready."
"I hate this part." Ed mumbled as he readied himself. Dr. Z bent down and hovered the metal leg over his amputated leg before placing the leg inside his wound, immediately connecting it to his nervous system as Ed let out a loud yell. "GRRAAAAAAAAAGH! OOOH! AW GOD! Aw, I really hate this part!"
"Alright!" Dr. Z exclaims as he twists the leg in place. "Alright, it's in. Repaired and good as new! In fact, I'd say it's even better than an actual leg! Ha!"
Ed lifted his metal leg up and moved it around, admiring it in silence. "Feels heavier than it used to." he mentions.
"I had to replace some parts to make it more versatile and sturdy so it won't get damaged as easily." Dr. Z replies as he wipes oil onto a towel.
"I'm just glad you all are alright." Reese says to the group.
"I'm just glad we got Spiny back." Zander says as he pulls out his Alpha Scanner and summons Spiny in his chibi form.
Needless to say, Spiny's chibi form was much different than his original one. Ursula and Ed followed suit as they summoned Terry and Tank in their chibi forms as well. As soon as they did, they immediately ran over to Spiny and began to nuzzle him, clearly missing the Spinosaurus as he nuzzled them back. Shortly afterwards, the D-Teams chibi dinosaurs ran over to the Alpha dinosaurs and began to nuzzle Spiny as well, the Spinosaurus getting overwhelmed with the sudden affection. Max however was too busy looking down at Chomp, who's chibi sized horn was broken in half during the battle, although the chibi Triceratops didn't even seem to care, instead wanting to do nothing but play with the Spinosaurus.
"Chomp." Max mumbles in sadness, regretting that he didn't do anything to help his friend back in the battle. Maybe then Chomp would still have his horn.
The automatic doors suddenly opened as Dr. Ancient entered the room. "I see everyone is back in one piece." he says with a smile before turning to Ed. "Mostly." he awkwardly says before continuing. "And I see you've rescued Spiny. Although he looks a bit different than usual."
"Black Eagle, mostly Mr. McCallum and that Wrench guy, did awful experiments on Spiny!" Laura yells in anger.
"Yeah! They forced him to grow and turn him against us!" Rod adds.
"Forced him to grow?" Dr. Ancient replies before putting a hand on his chin. "I always suspected Spiny wasn't fully grown when we turned him into a card. What else happened?"
"The Fist. That's who." Max growls as if it was venom.
"Dad, you're never going to believe this." Rex tells his father.
"Try me." he replies in a deadpan tone and expression.
"He created a dinosaur!"
"What?!"
"Yeah! It was super big! Bigger than Terry!" Zander explains.
"With a massive horn and frill, and big strong arms!" Ed imitates with his arms.
"Sullivan said it was a hybrid that was made with the combination of Terry's, Spiny's, and the Centrosaurus' DNA as well. Called it the Chimera." Ursula adds.
"Sullivan?" Dr. Ancient questions with a raised brow.
"Nash Sullivan." Reese answers from the back, earning everyone's attention. "He's the creator of Black Eagle Security and they're bad people, Dr. Ancient. Their experiments on Spiny as well as creating that hybrid as well as giving dinosaur armor and weapons for the sole reason as to send these creatures out to war proves this. Nash Sullivan is the Fist and he's a dangerous foe, Dr. Ancient."
"And I guarantee you this won't be the last time we'll see him." Max grumbles with a tight fist.
"Well until then, the best we can do is keep rescuing dinosaurs from both the Fist and the Grand Master."
"Ssssssssss." Max hissed in awkwardness as everyone else tensed at the same time. "Ooooooo."
Needless to say, this confused the good doctor. "What?… What?" he asks.
"The… Centrosaurus… card got… t- taken, sir." Ed sheepishly answers.
"Are you kidding me? Man, that's one elusive card."
The automatic doors opened once more, this time revealing Dr. Cretacia instead. "You guys are gonna wanna see this!" she exclaims in the room.
After a quick trip down the hall, the group entered the main security room where Dr. Cretacia sat in the chair in front of the large screen in front of her. "I just read this now but apparently one of our Spy Flies sent us a photo." she starts to explain.
"Is it Mr. Mills?" Dr. Ancient asks his wife.
"No, otherwise it would've just sent his location." she answers. "They only send photos of people who they failed to obtain a facial scan of and well… I got this."
Dr. Cretacia clicked her mouse as a tab opened up, revealing a still photo of the hooded Grand Master talking to Ungaro and Carter, both on the sides of the photo, while behind the Grand Master were Él Matacho and the Havana man. Needless to say, everyone realized who this hooded figure was. "Is that?" Rex asks in shock.
"It must be." Zander replies.
"Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Grand Master." Dr. Cretacia says as he zooms in on the hooded figure.
"Look! He's missing a finger!" Zoe points to the screen.
Dr. Cretacia zoomed in on the hand, revealing that the Grand Master indeed was missing a finger. "Dr. Ancient," Max cautiously asks. "does… Mr. Mills have four fingers?"
"I know what you guys are thinking and no, it's not him. Mr. Mills has all ten fingers… Of course, given how long he's been in this time period, anything could've happened."
"Look at that. It's Ungaro." Rex announces pointing to the man in the photo.
"And that Hispanic guy! Él… Something! Tocho maybe." Max points to Él Matacho.
"So that means Él Matacho is working for the Grand Master as well?" Zoe questions aloud.
"You don't think Jericho is also working for them, right?" Rex asks his friends. "Because the last time we saw Jericho was in Costa Rica and he was working with Él Matacho as well, and he worked for the Fist who's now Sullivan. But since Él Matacho is obviously here in the photo, then Jericho could ALSO be working for the Grand Master as well!"
"Great! That means the Grand Master has the Centrosaurus card now!" Max yells in anger.
"The Grand Master! The Fist! Hell, even Goma wants a piece of this nice dinosaur action!" Ursula angrily exclaims.
"Well that just means we have more on the line now for us." Dr. Ancient grimly says as he stares at the photo of the Grand Master.
"Look on the bright side, Dr. Ancient. We now know the Grand Master has four fingers so that kind of narrows down on who we're looking for, right?" Ed sheepishly asks, trying to stay optimistic.
"In a situation like this Ed," Dr. Ancient replies, still leering at the Grand Master in the photo. "there is no bright side."
The D-Team and the Alpha Gang have finally got their first look at the Grand Master, albeit in a still photo with his face hidden. Either way, this won't be the first time they'll encounter the hooded man.
Not by a long shot.
(Oh boy, the Centrosaurus just keeps escaping the D-Team's grasp. Ooooh, totally not gonna make this a recurring gag… maybe.
Anyway it should go without saying that Spiny and Terry fighting was a direct reference to Jurassic Park 3's scene along with how Spiny killed the Chimera.
What is there uuuuh… Oh, yeah that's right. The uh, heh, the Fist lol. You can probably guess his personality and his motives for wanting the dinosaur cards. Obviously a battle scarred soldier who has a problem with the U.S. military system who may or may not have lost a loved one through war. How do y'all like him anyway? He's not the big bad guy, that honor goes to the Grand Master who I will reveal eventually in this story, but he's still a big player in this story nonetheless.
Also, yeah Ed has a metal leg now. Like automail from Full Metal Alchemist but weaponized. What you think of dat?!... Uuuuh-
And mark my words, the Fist and the Grand Master WILL eventually meet face to face one day.
