Black Clover - The Three Brothers

"This place is so cool!" Asta couldn't help but gawk at all the sights in the castle town of Kikka, centered around the colosseum where the Magic Knight Exams would be taking place, the trio's destination.

Six months had passed since Asta and Yuno had acquired their grimoires. Yuno's abilities with his Wind Magic had grown even stronger now that he's begun learning spells, which Blake had ended up copying as a byproduct of their training.

What was most interesting was Asta, whose Grimoire seem to have given him the power of what they dubbed "Anti-Magic". That heavy sword of his was able to cut through pretty much any type of magic that Blake threw at him and with a bit of testing was also able to block against and even reflect magic attacks if the flat of the greatsword was used. It also piqued his interest because this wasn't something he could really copy and to Blake felt like the complete opposite of his magic. He thought it to be an amazing power.

It seems all of that strength training Asta did was imperative after all, even Blake had a hard time lifting that sword around, though that could be due to it sapping his magic when he was touching it, but even so.

Then there was that one redhead dude who was helping Asta with his sword technique a while back. What was his name...Fonzie? Blake couldn't remember and with how much that guy ended up nude in one way or another, he'd probably want to just leave it at that. He hopes he finds his fiance, though.

"It is quite a sight." Blake gazed at all the vendors that lined the streets, trying their best to pull in as many customers, whether they be regular residents, hopeful young mages, or tourists coming to see the spectacle of the exam.

The three young men continued walking down the streets, stopping every so often to look at things that interested them.

"Woah, those are some pretty cool swords! I wonder if-" Asta gasped as he looked at the price, reaching almost 300,000 Yul. He turned around meekly. "H-Hey Blake, you wouldn't happen to-

"Not a chance."

"Aww man!" Asta pouted, grumbling to himself, before setting his eyes on a new point of interest. "Is that where the Wizard King lives?"

Blake and Yuno turned their heads to see a faraway castle which even from this distance appeared massive and luxurious, surrounded by tall walls and an arrangement of large trees beyond said walls.

"It's probably where the Country's King lives as well." Yuno added

"Considering it's the biggest and nicest place around here by a mile, it's probably where all the royal families live. How typical." Blake said.

"It's a pretty nice place, can't wait till I'm living in it!" Asta spoke

Yuno rolled his eyes. "You'll be waiting a long time, since I'll be living there."

"Nah, no way, I might be kind enough to let you stay around though!"

"I can't wait for you to experience Deja vu when you hear me say that to you."

"Hey, either way, you'll let me stay for free, yeah?" Blake asked with a smile

"Of course!" Asta nodded

"500,000 Yul a Month." Yuno held his hand out.

"That's outrageous! You're a horrible landlord!" Blake shouted at Yuno, who simply shrugged his shoulders.

The crying of a baby then caught the three's attention, turning to see a young woman with red hair, her hands filled with two large bags filled with supplies, for a shop from what they could overhear as she soothed the upset baby on her back, with two other kids following after her, a boy and girl. Most likely her siblings. Blake's eyes linger on the woman longer than he thought.

"I feel her pain, reminds me of you guys and the other little ones." Blake spoke, placing his hands behind his head.

Asta agreed. "You know, it's only been a few days, but I'm starting to miss them already. I'm sure they're feeling the same about us!"

Yuno began to start walking ahead. "I'm sure they're enjoying their newfound peace and quiet."

"What was that?! Come say it to my face, you jerk!" Asta followed after him.

Blake sighed before moving to catch up with the two.

At last, they finally reached the Colosseum, walking past the dozens of bystanders who showered compliments on all who were taking the exam.

"I won't let you down! You can count on me!" Asta spoke towards them, smiling and waving.

"I don't know him. I don't know him. I don't know him." Yuno mumbled to himself, keeping his head down.

Blake elbowed his brother's shoulder lightly. "Come on, Yuno, nothing wrong with throwing out a smile and wave!" Blake slung his arm around Yuno's shoulder while waving in the direction of the onlookers. "We love you too random citizens!"

"Do you do this just to annoy me?"

"Maaaaybe."

The three brothers filed in the lines of the other mages, totaling around 200, who were registering their grimoire. After some time, it was finally their turn, all were marked and admitted. Once again, the people around him only saw it as a 4-leaf grimoire.

As the examinees waited for the exam to begin, flocks of birds began to swarm them.

"What the hell is with these birds?!" One guy shouted, with 4 birds hounding him.

"They're Anti-Birds. The weaker your magic power is, the more that flock to you." Another responded, who was only dealing with 2. "Hey, check those two out."

He pointed in the direction of Yuno and Blake, who were simply taking in their surroundings.

"Woah, not a single bird is going near them!"

"Haven't you heard? Those are the two with the 4-leaf grimoires, they even came from the same village in the Forsaken Realm!"
"Seriously? How's that even possible?"

"That one guy looks a couple of years older than most of us, what took him so long to take the exam?"

"They're both pretty hot."

"Jeez, Yuno, I'm feeling a bit left out here. I want a bird friend too!"

Yuno narrowed his eyes "That's not-"

As if by fate, a single anti-bird had flown its way over to Blake, though it didn't really behave like the others. For just a bird, it was giving Blake pretty intense eye contact as it flapped its wings.

Blake offered his finger for the bird to perch itself on, which it did.

"Yuno, look, look, look! My prayers were answered!" Blake spoke happily, even if Yuno ignored him.

He eyed Blake and the bird with barely noticeable confusion. That doesn't make any sense. I know Blake has even more magic than I do, there's no reason for a bird to be around him. Strange...

The bird cocked its head as it stared at Blake with a look in its eyes that Blake couldn't quite describe, it then started pushing its head towards Blake.

Blake quirked an eyebrow. "What's up, little guy? You want to get closer?" To his surprise, the bird nodded its head. "You can understand me? A smart little birdie you are."

He brought it closer and closer until the bird look satisfied before it suddenly pressed its head and softly nuzzled Blake's cheek.

Blake's surprise turn into short bits of laughter. "Hey, that tickles, friendly little bird aren't ya?"

"I wish I was that bird."
"Janet, you need to stop."

After a few seconds, the bird ceased its nuzzling and made itself comfortable upon the top of Blake's head.

"Look, Yuno, it really likes me!"

"Well, your hair does tend to look like a bird's nest in the mornings, so I'm not exactly surprised."

"Rude!"

"AAAAAAARGH! SOMEONE GET THESE FREAKING BIRDS OFF ME!"

The familiar yelling of their brother caught their attention as they look at the sight of Asta running for dear life, trying to escape the anti-birds that surrounded and pecked him non-stop.

Blake couldn't help but bust out laughing. "They must really like you, Asta!"

"YOU AREN'T HELPING!"

Asta suddenly bumped himself into another figure, causing the anti-birds to fly far away.

"Finally, they're gone." Asta turned toward the man with a sheepish smile. "Thanks, mister, sorry for bumping into you."

"You got a death wish, boy?"

The man's presence was intense and overwhelming for Asta. WHO THE HECK IS THIS GUY?! HE'S GOT THE EYES OF A KILLER AND HIS NECK IS AS THICK AS A TREE TRUNK! NO WAY IS HE OUR AGE!"

Asta was soiling himself...In his mind of course, but it wouldn't take much more for it to become reality. He calmed himself, trying to not judge the man. Maybe he's like Blake and waited to take it until he was ready. Yeah, that was it!

He offered a handshake. "I'm Asta, I'm trying out for the Magic Knights too! Maybe we'll end up on the same brigade as teammates!"

An uncomfortable silence hung over the area.

It was promptly broken by the man gripping Asta by the top of his head. Asta felt like his head was about to cave in on itself.

"You mocking me, boy? I guess you want to die after all."

GWAAAAH! DANGER! DANGER! HE'S A LUNATIC!

Asta kicked his legs in the air as he was lifted off the ground.

Suddenly, a hand grips the man's wrist tightly.

"If you wouldn't mind...Get your fucking hand off my brother."

"Huh? Blake!" Asta was relieved that his brother intervened.

The man was unimpressed. "Your brother, huh? What, you got a death wish too, kid?"

Blake glared at the man, he was about the same height as him but looked to have a lot more mass, if he wasn't angry at the man, he would be impressed.

He had to admit, this guy's magic was abundant, powerful, and intimidating, he could feel it radiating from the man in hues of dark purple. If they were to battle, he's not sure how the battle would go.

But it didn't matter, he was messing with Blake's family and that's never a good idea.

It took a considerable amount of effort from Blake, but he was able to rip the man's hand away from Asta, getting him free from the man's grasp, who took the opportunity to get some distance between him and the man.

The man's expression barely changed, though he did raise his eyebrows. "Not bad, kid, not a lot of people are capable of that. Even so, you better be careful who you fuck with." It sounded like the man was trying to give a warning to Blake as he took a huff on his cigarette.

Blake wasn't hearing it. "Pick on someone your own size, asshole. Put your hand on my brother again and I'll kill you." He held out his arm in front of Asta protectively and began to unintentionally unleash some of his own magic, radiating a dark blue aura.

The man narrowed his eyes, gripping the sword at his waist by its sheathe. This kid's got more magic in him than I thought, he could rival some of the captains with the amount he has, maybe even surpass them. What he said, hmph, reminds me of back then with...

The intense stare-off was interrupted by a young man with light brown hair, he wore the same black cape around his shoulders as the dark-haired man did. By his side was a strange-looking man who wore black and white makeup on his face, and appeared to be mumbling something to himself.

"Y-Yami sir, what are you doing down here? You're supposed to be up on the balcony overseeing alongside the other captains." He asked in a somewhat fearful manner.

"Huh? Get off my ass, I got lost looking for the bathroom."

The bystanders appeared to begin to realize who these 3 guys are, Blake listened to their murmurs. Apparently, the one with brown hair is Finral Roulacase, a Spatial Magic user who spends more time flirting with girls than doing missions, the one with the makeup is Gordon Agrippa who uses Incantation Magic and is quite off-putting to those around him, and the man in front of him...

"That's Yami Sukihiro, "The God of Destruction", and Captain of the Black Bulls, the worst of the Magic Knight Brigades!" Another examinee mouthed off.

Blake stiffened just a bit. This guy's a captain? That explains his magic power. Christ, first that Revchi guy, and now this, these Magic Knights aren't the best at first impressions.

"M-Mister Yami, you really shouldn't be trying to fight the examinees." The man named Finral seemed to be trying to settle the situation peacefully.

Blake snapped at the man. "Quiet, leprechaun, this doesn't involve you."

"LEPRECHAUN?! I'm trying to save your life here, buddy!"

Suddenly, the sound of fireworks was heard overhead, quite a nice sight.

"Oh thank god, looks like the exams are about to begin." Finral sighed with relief.

Yami took one last huff of his cigarette before dropping it and crushing it underneath his foot.

"I kinda want him to do that to me..."
"You're even worse, Margaret!"

"You got guts kid, try not to have them spilled on the ground." He then pointed at Asta. "You've been given a second chance at life, appreciate it." The last thing he said before walking away with his underlings.

"Tch, asshole." Blake turned back to Asta, having a softer expression on his face. "You alright, Asta?"

"Yeah, I'm alright. I thought I was a goner for sure, thanks so much, Blake."

Blake chuckled and patted his brother's head. "There, there, big bad man is gone."

"Oh come on, that's a little much!"

"You two are a magnet for trouble." Yuno spoke as he made his way over to the other two.

"Bah ha! I must say, having a stand-off with the Captain of the Black Bulls and not cowering in fear is quite impressive, you're a braver man than me." A new voice spoke to the two. He introduced himself as Sekke Bronzazza.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Asta!"

"Yuno."

Blake gave a small nod and smiled. "I'm Blake, this runt and Mr. Cool guy over here's older brother."

Sekke looked surprised. "Truly? You don't look much alike, step-siblings?"

"We grew up in an orphanage since I was a kid and they were babies, so we consider each other family."

"I see, what a touching story."

At the moment, horns and trumpets sounded with the arrival of all the Magic Knight Captains who settled themselves in the seats on the balcony, overseeing the examinees.

Blake elbowed Sekke lightly. "Hey, I don't really get the hype behind these guys except that they're strong and protect the country. Could you give me a bit of a run-down of who these guys are?"

"Hm, of course, sure. See those two right in the center sitting next to each other? On the left is Nozel Silva and on the right is Fuegoleon Vermillion, Captains of the Silver Eagles and Crimson Lions respectively, they're a part of the Royal family in this country. On Nozel's side is the beautiful Charlotte Roselei of the Blue Rose Brigade, the maniacal Jack The Ripper of the Green Preying Mantis Brigade, and the ever-sleeping Dorothy Unsworth of the Coral Peacocks Brigade."

Blake followed Sekke's pointing, making notes on the captains. Hmm, that guy spends too much time on his hair. She's beautiful for sure, but Sister Lily's more so. I fear he'll kill me. Wow, I wish I could be like her.

"Then on Fuegoleon's side is Yami Sukihiro who you're familiar with. The youngest of the captains, Rill Boismortier of the Azure Deer, only 19 years old. Then Gueldre Poizot of the Purple Orcas."

Hmm, that guy doesn't seem too bad, could learn to relax his face though. Then the asshole again. That guy's the same age as me? That's pretty cool. Wait, the Purple Orcas, isn't that the one the chain guy was a part of? Please god don't make me be on that squad.

"Wait, there's supposed to be 9 Magic Knight Captains, right? There's only 8 up there." Asta noted.

"Thank you for your patience, I'll be the one heading the exam for this year." Spoke a new voice originating from the Balcony with the other captains. His voice could be heard across the entire colosseum, likely due to the support magic item.

"There he is, the man that heads the most prestigious of the Magic Knight Brigades and is considered second to the Wizard King, William Vangeance of the Golden Dawn!" Sekke spoke.

"What's with the mask?"

The man named Vangeance opened his grimoire.

"[World Tree Creation Magic: Magic Tree's Descent]"

The sky overhead blackened and the wind picked up heavily as a massive gathering of roots manifested from the sky. From the ends of these roots, brooms began to be created and handed to each of the examinees.

Blake grabbed the broom presented to him before opening his grimoire, looking to see the spell. However, looking through the pages, he could only find that only the magic had been inscribed into the grimoire. That's odd, why isn't the spell here? He shrugged. Whatever, not my style anyways.

Vangeance closed his grimoire, a smile on his face. "Let the Magic Knights' Entrance Exams begin!"

Their first test involved being able to use broomsticks for flight. Quite a few of the examinees had a good start but had difficulty keeping themselves in the air for a prolonged amount of time or even just staying steady. There was a sizable handful of examinees who were able to go quite high in the air and even fly through the air while they were at it, Yuno being among them of course.

As for Blake...

"WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!"

He soared through the sky at a speed far outpacing any of the other examinees, maneuvering his broom with a great amount of control and precision. Feeling the wind blow through his hair felt freeing and a feeling of this being right.

"That hick is insane!"
"Owners of the 4-leaf grimoires are no joke."

This is awesome! I didn't think I'd take it to it so quickly.

He ended his fun with a somewhat rough triple somersault, before landing his butt on his broom.

"And you call me a show-off." Yuno remarked with an amused smile.

"Well, what can I say, I got pretty into it." Blake replied with a chuckle before suddenly getting pecked a bunch by the anti-bird. "Ow ow ow! What's all that for?!"

"It mustn't have liked your theatrics." Yuno looked down and Blake followed his gaze. "It looks like Asta is far outside it in that case."

Asta looked constipated trying to get his broom to fly, he was getting veins in his forehead from how hard he was trying.

Blake furrowed his eyebrows at the sight. He tried thinking up of someway for Asta to be able to fly but alas nothing came to mind. No magic meant nothing could be imbued into the broomstick allowing for flight, that was the reality.

"That twerp's unbelievable."
"No way is he getting on a Brigade."
"Why bother showing up in the first place?"

Blake gradually got more and more ticked off by the mutterings of some of the people around him. He was a second away from knocking them off by their broomsticks but was keeping his cool, doing that might make him lose his spot. "Some people can never just focus on themselves."

More tests came one after another; breaking a stone wall with simple magic, flying targets they had to aim and hit at, creating items from their magic, and using their magic to fuel the growth of a seed into a plant. Safe to say, Blake and Yuno got through it without much difficulty and Asta...didn't have much luck.

Blake began to grow worried. At this rate, Asta's gonna be deemed a failure. I know he deserves a spot, he just needs something to show his true capabilities.

"We have reached the final test of the exam. For this, you will engage in actual combat with your fellow examinees."

JACKPOT! Thank you, Mr. Mask!

Luckily Asta was first as well, that guy from before, Sekke or whatever, offered to be his opponent. He got a good read of the guy earlier, he could use some offset of Earth Magic and was decent with his magic overall, he wasn't very physically strong, though that was pretty common with regular mages.

"You think Asta can win?" Yuno asks, making his way to Blake.

"You should already know my answer, but what about yours, Yuno?"

Yuno smiled. "That other guy's got no chance."

Blake nodded in agreement. "Oh, look's like they're starting."

Before the fight truly begin, Blake could see the two having a conversation. He couldn't really hear it, so he decided to use a small bit of Reinforcement Magic to heighten his hearing capabilities, as you normally do.

"-filthy rat who doesn't belong. I'll live up the good life as a Magic Knight for the both of us, so just go back to whatever hole you came from after I'm done with you, I'm sure your brothers are just as embarrassed to be seen with you."

"Uh, Blake, is something wrong?" Yuno asked, it looked like every muscle on Blake's body tightened and tensed up.

"Yuno, keep a grip on me."

"What? Why?"

"For the safety of a two-faced rat."

Yuno didn't get it but begrudgingly complied, gripping Blake by his shoulder, even if it would be pointless.

The battle began, and Sekke cast the spell [Bronze Creation Magic: Sekke's Magnum Cannonball].It covered him in a transparent sphere that looked to protect him from magical attacks while he countered with magic bullets that would be shot from the sphere.

Yuno glanced off to his left to see Blake's grimoire glow for the copy to occur but was surprised that nothing occurred, he then looked up at Blake with another look of confusion. "What are you doing?"

Blake was using his hand to cover his eyes. "You think I want to have a spell that has some other dude's name in it? Hell no."

"Haha! Come at me with everything you got, Asta!" Sekke taunted, flashing a wink.

Asta didn't say anything. He took a deep breath in, and a deep breath out. Then, in a flash, he appeared in front of Sekke, bringing his sword down on him and his spell, tearing it in two, and knocking him out in one hit, cratering the stone floor beneath the man.

Some of the captains questioned if the boy had been using reinforcement magic to move so fast, but Yami knew instantly. "That was pure physical power."

"Live the good life? I'm not here to just goof off and kick up my boots." Asta sat his sword on his shoulder. "I'm here to work my ass off and become the Wizard King!"

"The Wizard King, huh?" Yami mumbled, a grin beginning to show on his face.

Several examinees were stunned

Yuno looked on with a smile, eyes enveloped with pride.

Blake was ecstatic.

"Woohoo! Great job, Asta!" He shouted and clapped loudly.

Yuno slightly turned away from Blake. "I don't know him. I don't know him."

Asta ran over to his brothers excitedly. "Oh man, how awesome was that?! I thought he was nice but he was being a real jerk, but I got him down in one hit no problem!"

"You sure did." Blake offered a high-five and Asta happily accepted it. Asta, in turn, did the same thing to Yuno.

"Come on, Yuno! That was pretty cool, right?"

Yuno was silent

"Right?"

Yuno sighed, giving Asta a lazy high-five. "Sure, Asta, it was cool."

"Hell yeah!"

Blake looked excited about the next match. It took a while, but Yuno eventually had his matchup. A noble offered the battle, apparently, he was from family...what was it...hapshap? sheepass? Nobles have weird names. They looked ready to begin.

"Even if you were gifted a 4-leaf grimoire, you're still nothing more than a lowly peasant. I'll show you how vast the difference in our power is." Salim was the boy's name. He flipped open his grimoire.

"[Lightning Creation Magic: God of Lightning Rising Salim!]"

Salim generated a massive ball of lightning in front of him, before sending it at Yuno.

Blake had to admit it was a powerful spell. However, he knew Yuno could easily counter. The noble was right in one thing, there is a vast difference in power, just not the dynamic he expected.

"[Wind Magic: Towering Tornado]!"

With a swipe of his hands, Yuno created a massive tornado that pulled in both the large ball of lightning as well as Salim himself into the air. Helpless in the air, he even became subject to his own spell's power, hurting him greatly, before dropping him back to the ground, knocked out.

"Whoa! Yuno beat him with just one spell! Super cool!" Asta couldn't help but gawk at what had happened. The spells were so powerful, the tornado threatened to pull the other examinees into its gravitational force.

"That's only one of his first few spells, imagine what he could discover with just a bit more time." Blake mumbled.

"It's just like him, I'll make sure my sword can cut through any spell he'll throw at me."

Yuno calmly walked back to the two. Asta offered another high-five, now for Yuno's victory.

"Not bad, Yuno! Those guys up there definitely got their eyes on you!"

Yuno half-heartedly rolled his eyes before giving Asta another high-five. Then he turned towards Blake. "I would've thought your grimoire would be glowing endlessly from the number of people here and spells being used."

Asta turned to Blake as well. "Oh yeah, I thought that was weird too! What's up with that?"

"I'm trying to limit how much my copying happens here. In the end, most of the spells these other mages use do the same few things and it'd be a pain looking through my grimoire having to read all the junk, so for most of the fights I've been covering my eyes, it seems as long as I don't have a visual for the magic or don't know the name of the spell, I won't copy it."

"I see." Yuno nodded, then took a look around. "It looks like a majority of the fights have already taken place. You still haven't had a match yet, Blake."

Blake waved him off as he walked away. "I'm sure I'll find someone."

So...he didn't.

What a bunch of cowards! Anytime I try walking up to them they run and say they've already paired with someone else! Like, the hell you were! It's not like I'd planned on messing up anyone badly. They just know I'll beat their ass and it'll make them look worse to the captains.

Just then, the solution made itself known in his head as he looked up, a lightbulb flicking on in his head.

The captains, huh?

"Hm? Have you found your opponent?" The mage referee asked as he saw Blake walk up, hands in the pocket of his black coat that reached his ankles.

Blake put a hand on the man's shoulder as he passed by him. "Give me a sec." He then activated his Wind Magic, the gusts lifting him into the air, allowing him to stare at the Magic Knight Captain face to face.

The captains held a reserved look, they put themselves on guard, in case the boy tried to pull anything stupid.

Two mages from the same village, both granted 4-leaf Grimoires and who use Wind Magic. How strange. From that village was that one boy with that grimoire as well... Vangeance pondered

"Is there something wrong? What brings the need to speak to us?"Fuegoleon asked the boy, a neutral tone in his voice.

Blake scratched his neck. "Yeah, so, the dilemma is that all the other examinees are really not interested in facing me, and if that keeps up I ain't gonna have an opponent."

"Is that all? It's no matter, we'll simply select an examinee and-"

"Can I just go against one of the captains instead?"

Fuegoleon and practically everyone else in the exam was flabbergasted by his question. This was an unprecedented situation.

"Did I just hear that guy right?"
"He's seriously trying to fight one of the captains?"
"Well, he does have a 4-leaf grimoire, and has done perfectly on all the tests so far..."
"Even still, they're Magic Knight Captains! They're on a whole other level compared to us."

"He's gonna fight one of the captains? Oh man, this is gonna be so cool!" Asta hyped.

Yuno was more reserved. "Blake may have reached the point where he's outmatched."

"Ah, come on, Yuno. You gotta believe in our big bro!"

"Don't start cheerleading, Asta..."

The lanky man Sekke pointed out to be Jack the Ripper had a small fit of laughter. "Kekeke! This guy's a riot, we need more like him!"

Fuegoleon was stunned for a moment before speaking. "You must have quite the confidence in your abilities for you to even ask that."

"Confidence? It'd be more fitting to label it as arrogant and delusional." Nozel spoke with an ice-cold tone, looking at Blake with a deadly glare.

"How typical of a man to be so full of himself." Charlotte was only a little less cold than how Nozel sounded.

"Jeez, you guys need to calm down." Blake waved away their comments. "It's not that I'm expecting to win against one of you guys, I just figured it'd be easier to showcase my capabilities without having to deal with those scaredy-cats down there."

Vangeance placed his hand underneath his chin, the young man had somewhat of a point. "Even still, this would require one of us captains to agree to take part."

Jack began to rise from his seat. "Let me at him. I'll cut him down a couple pegs."

"Not happening. I'll be the one he goes against."

The captains and Blake turned their heads to see Yami had finally spoken up.

The guy behind him, Finral, looked absolutely mortified. "Captain Yami, we can't have a dead examinee on our conscious!"

"Back off, Yami, I called dibs!"

Yami let out a puff of smoke before staring at Jack. "Don't care."

Jack grumbled and muttered under his breath before sitting back down.

"Here's how it'll work. A 5-Minute match-up, if you aren't knocked out by the time it reaches zero, we'll consider it your win or whatever. I ain't gonna go full-power but I ain't going easy. You still feel up for it, boy?"

Blake looked at Yami with a small smirk. "Let's go, old man."

The two combatants stood in the center of the Colosseum, a couple of dozen feet away from each other. At the sight of the battle, the Anti-Bird that resided on top of Blake's head flew off over to Yuno and Asta. Over by the balcony displayed a timer, thanks to a magic tool, that would begin the moment the referee stated.

"Say kid, confirm something for me, would ya?" Yami asked.

"What is it?" Blake spoke with a harsher tone than expected.

"I don't want to get a big head or anything, but I'm thinking when you came up to go against one of us Captains, you were hoping you got to go against me. Am I right?"

Blake was silent before another smirk appeared on his face. "Am I that easy to read?"

"Ha! So that was the case after all. Well, that's all I need." Yami draws his sword and pointed the blade at Blake.

Weird looking sword. Blake braced himself.

"Begin!" The timer starts.

In a split second, Yami disappears from Blake's sight.

Blake only had that split-second to register it, before suddenly feeling that dark, powerful aura reappear behind him. Picking up on the magic, He twisted around before seeing the blade swinging towards him and then just barely had time to bring his arms up to block before being sent flying to the other side of the Colosseum. He crashed into the wall, forming a crater, falling to the ground and dropping on one knee.

"If I wasn't using the back of my blade, he would've been cut in half." Yami muttered. "Come on, that ain't all you got, I know that much."

Blake had to take a moment to gather himself. This guy's strength is on another level. His speed is as well. I guess that's a captain for you.

Blake quickly collected himself, before opening his grimoire and slamming his fist into the ground.

"[Copy Magic: Earth's Spikes]"

Dozens of gigantic Black spikes rose from the ground as they were sent in Yami's direction.

This caught Yami off-guard. I thought he used Wind Magic? Besides that, Yami didn't have much difficulty finding spaces of safety between them, taking a few seconds to break them apart.

"[Copy Magic: Knight's Twin Blades]"

Yami looked up from above, raising the flat of his katana to block the attacks from Blake's daggers. Steel Magic?

Blake continue his assault, slashing at Yami as quickly as he could, though Yami didn't seem to have too much trouble parrying the attacks, easy to read. Yami noted that Blake was pouring quite an amount of magic into reinforcing his speed and strength with magic, atop his already high physical power, he was able to fast enough to prevent Yami from being able to counter-attack effectively.

"Copy Magic, huh? Can't say I've gone against that before. Copies others' spells and use them as your own, ain't that nifty. Bit of a dick move though." Yami spoke casually as he defended against Blake's barrage of attacks.

Blake couldn't help but crack a smile at Yami's remark. "Can't exactly do much about it, can I?"

To Yami's surprise, Blake lept back before aiming and throwing his daggers at Yami, while using basic steel magic to create more daggers and throw them toward him at surprising speeds.

Yami parried each of them with ease. The hell's the point of all this?

His question's answered when Blake stopped and began using Wind Magic. Strong gusts of wind manifested around Yami, gathering up the dozens of daggers and broken spikes before sending them at Yami with a swipe of his hand.

He used his first two spells as a set-up for his actual attack, a whirlwind of blades and spikes. Not bad. For the first time in this battle, Yami infused magic into his sword for a spell.

"[Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Lightless Slash!]"

With a swing of his blade, Yami released an emission of darkness that cut through and even absorb some of the magic into it. The slash of darkness continued its trajectory towards Blake, who began to pull something made of blue and black flames from his grimoire.

"[Copy Magic: Grand Slam!]"

Yami had to do a double take. Wait a damn moment isn't that...

From Blake's grimoire came a baseball bat made of flames that he used to collide with the Lightless Slash, the dark energy was absorbing the flames of the bat, but the bat wasn't extinguished. Enhancing his already high physical power with even more Reinforcement Magic, Blake quickly batted away the Lightless Slash and sent it colliding into the wall.

Yami was almost impressed.

Blake glanced at the timer. 3 minutes left? I should be able to make it work. Though he didn't notice, he had quite a grin on his face. He's never fought against someone so powerful, he enjoyed the feeling of it a lot more than he thought he would.

"[Copy Magic: Exploding Fireball!]"

Blake created a ball of Black and Blue flames and slammed his bat into it, sending it at Yami. Yami would've simply swatted it away with his darkness-infused blade, but to his surprise, the ball packed a lot more power behind it than what he was used to from the spell, causing the explosion to knock him back a bit.

One after another, Blake continued to summon fireballs and bat them at Yami, who responded with a couple of Lightless Slashes, countering Blake's ranged attacks with his own.

Once Yami found the opening before Blake could send any more fireballs his way, he dashed and appeared behind the white-haired man as he did at the start.

He's got plenty of power, but I'd say my speed outmatches him.

Yami would eat his words only a second later, as Blake twisted around much quicker than Yami had expected and hit his blade away with the flame bat, having finally put the Dark Magic user off-balanced.

"You ain't catching me like that again!"

Blake took advantage of the rare moment, grabbing Yami by his white tank top and pulling him in, headbutting the man. He quickly delivered a powerful punch to his gut, launching him back a bit, then finished his physical assault by rushing Yami and hitting him with a flying double kick.

Yami stood still for a moment, feeling the blood run from his nose, he couldn't help but smile, then it turned into laughter. "Not bad at all, kid! Been a while since I went against a mage who didn't mind getting their hands dirty, much less one who could even match me! You may have even left a bruise on me."

Yami rushed towards Blake, finally beginning his overwhelming assault. Blake practically flooded Reinforcement Magic into his essence in order to match Yami's Power and Speed, more than he's done this first half of the match. Thanks to that, he could consistently parry and counterattack Yami. If he had to estimate, all that probably left him with about 70% of his mana reserves left.

"It's all I had to work with for most of my life. Even more so for Asta, he never had magic." Blake's anger poured into his attacks.

Asta? Ah right, his brother I was going to destroy. Wait, it's all he had? What's that supposed to mean?

Yami pondering his question allowed Blake the second he needed to find an opening to disengage from the close-range brawl, using Wind Magic to aid in opening the distance.

Blake took another look at the timer, one minute and a half. If he just wanted to stall out, he could probably do so.

But he didn't want that. He wanted to see how much he could dish out and if this Captain can really take it.

He opened his grimoire once again.

"[Copy Magic: Towering Tornado!]"

Yami's eyes widened in surprise. Just from the black gusts of wind forming to create the spell, Yami could tell this outclassed the one that was used earlier by that one kid, by quite a bit. Seems like that magic of his does more than just copy the spell. Most likely, his large amount of mana causes the spells to have more power than before. Again, a dick move.

Even Blake was surprised by the tornado. This was the first time he used the spell since his grimoire copied it, and it far surpassed the height of the Colosseum. It's a good thing they moved all the other examinees away to the more distant areas of the Colosseum, less they get pulled in by the Tornado.

That's the problem Yami was facing currently. He planted his feet and pierce the ground with his sword in order to keep himself in place.

"[Dark Magic: Black Cocoon!]"

Yami was enveloped in a large black sphere, protecting him against the Tornado's power.

Blake chuckled. "C'mon, Yami, let me get you out of your shell!" Gusts of wind carried Blake forward, circling him around to the back of the cocoon.

"[Copy Magic: Inferno Fire Blast!]"

A gigantic ball of Black and Blue flames shot its way into the cocoon, gradually burning its way into its core. Now it was being attacked on both ends. He could see the cocoon being torn and burn away by the gales and flames but it was still quite sturdy. Blake didn't stop there.

He rose into the air before making his descent, above the top of the black cocoon, his grimoire opening and beginning to manifest an oversized mass of water shaped like a fist.

"[Copy Magic: Holy Fist of Love!]"

Blake slammed the fist of water into the cocoon. He could feel him pushing through the outer layer of the cocoon.

More, just need a little more! I'm breaking through this barrier! Blake then began to feel something...different. He could feel more of his magic being poured into his spell, even though the spell had already been cast, the size of his water fist growing even bigger than before.

What's happening? It's that same feeling of power from when I first acquired this grimoire. Blake's eyes widened as he realized something. My magic, I can't stop it from pouring into my spell! The fist became so big, Blake became enveloped in it. Crap, Crap! I can't keep control of it! At this rate, I'm gonna-

He didn't have a chance to finish his line of thought as, suddenly, the Black Cocoon busted open, large waves of Dark Magic bursting forth, they tore through all three of Blake's attack spells and sent Blake flying back to the ground, crashing into and demolishing the stone floor underneath him, the weight of this magic attack absorbing quite a large amount of his spells' power.

The sight of this power left Blake starstruck. This is...the power of a Magic Knight Captain? He had been holding back so much of his power. This is...so awesome!

As the attacks were dispelled and the dust settled, all that was left was Yami at the center, smoking his cigarette, before bellowing out a hearty laugh.

"You know, kid, you're really something else! You made today a lot less boring."

Blake couldn't help but start laughing himself, picking himself back up. "I could say the same thing to you. Never got to output this much of my magic before." Blake opened his grimoire again, ready to continue. He'd say he has roughly 50% of his magic left.

"Jeez, kid, you still got more left in you? You're a monster." Yami aimed his blade over at the timer. "Calm down, there's no need to continue."

Blake looked over. "The timers reached zero."

"Due to the conditions set for this special match, Blake is the winner!" The referee spoke, disbelief in his voice.

"Mhm, it's your point." Yami turned to walk away but looked back at Blake for just a second. "One more thing kid."

"Hm, what is it?"

A shiver went down Blake's spine as Yami gave him the deadliest look, it may have been a trick of the light but it looked like Yami's eyes were glowing red. "Don't ever think of using my spells against me or I'll put you in the ground."

A bead of sweat went down Blake's face before he gave a nervous smile and lazy salute. "Yes sir, Yami sir."

Yami chuckled. "Punk ass." He walked to the balcony and lept to where the captain sat, taking a seat in his chair, lackadaisical as usual.

"I must say, I never expected that examinee to display so much power. And his magic was Copy Magic? Quite a rare type indeed. That's a power that can only grow stronger with experience." Fuegoleon spoke, with most of the captains agreeing in their own way.

"Yes, he is certainly...interesting." It felt as if Vangeance had more to say, but he wasn't planning to continue

"Did you enjoy playing your foolish games with a lowly peasant, foreigner?" Nozel questioned, holding a cold, mocking tone in his voice.

"Get off my dick, Nozel."

"I will end you."

"Calm down, aren't my petty insults below you?"

Charlotte lowered and shook her head. "Honestly, must you be so vulgar with your words? Even for a man, it's disgraceful." Charlotte was cold and dignified on the outside.

But on the inside.

Why did he have to say those words?! Now I can't get the image of his...thing out of my head! A beast of a man like him...telling me to...Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Bad Charlotte! Bad Charlotte! Oh why did it have to be him?!

"Huh? Good thing I wasn't ever known for my grace then, prickly princess. I'm as rough as it gets."

"Hmph. Ridiculous."

Charlotte wanted to die inside.

Stop saying those things! You're making it worse!

"Well, time to move on now."

Captain Vangeance stood and announced that this marked the end of the final test. After a short recess to make sure the examinees have recovered from their battles, they will begin the selection of who will join the Magic Knights.

As Blake made his way back to Asta and Yuno, he couldn't escape the feeling of so many eyes focused solely on him, be it admiration or fear. It felt so intrusive and suffocating, he just wanted to push against it all, but something like this wouldn't be solved like that.

"BLAAAAAAAAKE!"

Blake was almost knocked on his ass when Asta jumped at him, wrapping his arms around him. Looking up at him with his starry eyes.

"You were super cool out there! You were really giving the guy a run for his money!"

"I'll admit, I had my doubts that you'd be able to handle the match, but I'm glad I was proven wrong." Yuno said.

This, Blake, could handle. Disregard everyone else around him and focus on the ones important to him, it becomes so much easier.

He shook his finger at Yuno. "Tsk, tsk, Yuno. Never doubt the capabilities of your amazing, powerful, and dashing older brother!"

"...On second thought, maybe getting knocked out would've been good for that head of yours."

"Oh Ha ha ha. Not a bad comeback, though."

Blake kept himself occupied chatting with his brothers until it was announced that the selection would begin, the anti-bird got itself comfortable atop Blake's head once again.

The examinees would be called on one by one. If a captain raises their hand, they've been accepted. If multiple captains raise their hands, the examinee may choose which Brigade they go to, or the examinee can simply choose to decline and try again next year. If no captain raises their hand, the examinee will have been rejected and must leave and try again next year.

Blake noted the captains were pretty damn picky with who they were accepting, it took getting through the first 35 examinees before one of them got picked, though considering it's the Purple Orcas, they ain't much better. It was only 2-3 people getting picked out of every couple of dozen examinees. If this kept up, out of the roughly 200 exam takers, barely a tenth of them would be admitted.

He supposed he could see why, gotta have the people with the right attitude and power to defend the kingdom. That then put into question why someone like that Chain Magic guy would be admitted in, he didn't exactly give the vibe of "Protect and Serve". The same goes for the one guy with a stupid laugh.

He scratched the back of his head, he really was bad with names sometimes.

Setting that aside it seems like there are more people who care about the power and benefits that come with being a Magic Knight than they'd ever care about actually helping people, it disappointed him.

"Next, Number 164."

Blake snapped out of thought as he got pecked by the anti-bird, realizing Yuno's number was called. He wished his brother good luck with a thumbs up, which Yuno regarded with a simple nod before stepping into the center. What occurred was a shock to everyone.

"He's getting an offer from all the captains."

"Hell yeah! Way to show them, Yuno!"

To become the Wizard King, I'll take the best path that'll lead me there. "It would be an honor to join the Golden Dawn!" Yuno spoke.

Blake rose a fist in cheer. Show them what a peasant can do, Yuno!

"They always get the best ones." Finral mumbled, and so did the guy in makeup, but much less understandable.

"Next, Number 165."

"Ah, the Black Sheep of the Exam." He noted, seeing it was Asta's turn.

Asta's nerves were shot as his number was called, but he did his best to stay relaxed with a deep breath in and out. He looked up as he felt Blake put a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

"It'll be fine, I believe in you."

Asta nodded with a smile. "Right, here I go!"

Asta stepped forward and looked up at them in anticipation, hoping that at least one...just one of them would be willing to take him. Seconds passed, and a painstaking silence covered the Colosseum.

None of the captains raised their hands.

Blake's knuckles turned white. That same feeling from when he was 15 when he had not been given a grimoire from the tower, this feeling of rejection was bubbling up again. But now it was his brother instead of him, yet that just made it even worse.

"This really a surprise to you?"

Yami broke the unbearable silence, standing up from his seat and looking down at Asta.

"No matter your combat strength, no one's gonna want a wild card with a strange power like you in their ranks. Ever heard of the fear of the unknown? In the end, all that matters to them..."

"...Is Magic Power."

A powerful aura of mana enveloped the Colosseum entirely, it felt as if the very ground was quaking in fear of Yami's power, and some of the contestants could barely keep steady. Even Yuno began to sweat.

Holy hell, I didn't realize someone's aura alone could even get this strong. Blake held a nervous, but excited smile on his face. I gotta learn to do that someday!

Yami dropped to the ground, cracking the floor once again.

"The fact is simple, with no magic power no one's gonna want you. And yet here you are, declaring how you'll become the Wizard King."

Yami stopped in front of Asta.

"That means surpassing each of the nine captains. So, tell me, boy, with just me standing here right in front of you, do you still have the gall to say that? With no magic power to back you up?"

"IT DOESN'T MATTER!"

Yami quirked an eyebrow, he wasn't expecting an answer so fast.

Asta stared dead-on at Yami. "Even if I don't make it this year...Even if it takes so many tries it would be insane to keep going...Even if no one around me believes...THAT WON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO ME!"

Blake looked towards Asta in disbelief, a swelling of unimaginable pride flowing through his body as he cracks one of the biggest smiles he's ever had. My little brothers...

"I WILL BECOME THE WIZARD KING!"

...ARE SO COOL!

The aura that suffocated the Colosseum began to slowly fade away as Yami stared at the Ash-Blonde boy before him. In no time, his face twitched into a smile, and then into full-blown laughter. He pointed at the short young man.

"Man, you really are an interesting kid, no wonder you're his brother! Come join the Black Bulls!"

...

"Say what?"

Clearly, Asta was confused.

The rest of the examinees were in complete disbelief. How could a magicless nobody end up a Magic Knight when so many of them have failed?

This was aside from two, of course. Yuno looked on at his rival with a small smile and Blake still had the same smile from moments ago on his face.

"I'm saying you're a part of my Brigade now, quit gaping like a bitch." A dark smile crossed Yami's lips. "Oh, and you don't get to say no. I'll make your life such a hell you'll never be the same again, too late to back out now!"

Just for a moment, Asta felt like running back home just to get far away from this man. IS HE PLANNING ON TORTURING ME?!

"And then one day, leave us in the dust and become the Wizard King."

That feeling was then replaced, and a new light shined in Asta's eyes as he looked up at the man. All his life, he could count on one hand the people he truly thought believed in his dream of becoming the Wizard King.

And now, a Magic Knight Captain was one of them.

He fought back the tears that threaten to fall, stiffened his upper lip, and spoke with determination.

"YES SIR!"

After a few moments, the Evaluation went back to normal.

"Next, Number 166!"

"Alright, it's on me now." Blake whispered to himself.

He gave Asta and Yuno a lazy two-finger salute before moving forward.

"Any offers for Number 166?" The referee voiced.

Blake's eyes widen before quickly relaxing with a small smirk. "Well, ain't that something."

"Woah! They all raised their hands for him, just like you Yuno!"

Yuno closed his eyes and smiled. "I'd expect nothing less."

Blake crossed his arms and tapped his foot. Well gee, I'm spoiled for choice, aren't I? Blake began to cross off his choices.

Purple Orcas? No way, that guy looks too sketchy.

Coral Peacocks? I respect the captain's sleeping skills, but he doesn't find any more appeal beyond that.

Green Preying Mantis? That dude's neck is too lanky for comfort, and I'm pretty sure that "hahah" guy ending up there, no thanks.

Blue Rose? The captain seems to have something against men, it probably wouldn't be too comfortable being in her squad. I don't want to end up a man slave or something.

Aqua Deer? He'd prefer a captain with a bit more experience.

Silver Eagles? That guy couldn't hide his superiority complex even if he tried, he was still looking at me like I'm a bug while he raised his hand. I doubt I could even last a day without wanting to make fun of his hair.

The Golden Dawn? Those guys are considered the cream of the crop for Magic Knights, Yuno's going to be with them. But...something feels off-putting about their captain, I hate that I can't put my finger on what it is, but if that's what my gut tells me, that's what I'll go with.

And so left Blake with two options he deemed respectable.

But just as he went with his gut before, his gut told him that in his heart, there really was only one option.

"I'll be joining The Black Bulls!"

Disbelief spread throughout the examinees that were left.

"Are we sure this guy isn't messed up in the head?"
"He got an offer from all the Brigades!"
"And willingly chose to go with the worst of them all?!"

Yami had a huge fit of laughter from the uproar and the look of shock on all the other captains' faces. "The best and worse squad getting the star players of the exam, who would've expected that? Better luck next time, suckers!" He continued to belt out laughter.

A couple dozen more examinees later, with about 5 making the cut, the exam had finally reached its conclusion.

"Damn it, Asta, I told you the grilled snake crap was a bad idea. That old hag was super suspicious." Blake was making his way to the nearby restrooms, wanting to get Asta to hurry up. The captain was starting to get cranky.

"Because of you, Asta, I was left stuck with the lower-ranked squads."

Just as he was about to turn the corner, he heard the jumbles of someone and stopped. Peaking out, it was the guy that Asta beat in one attack. He doesn't seem to be taking his loss very well.

"You won't get off that easy, I'll make you pay." The man opened his grimoire and Blake stopped looking temporarily.

I bet it's another one of his self-titled spells

"[Bronze Curse Magic: Sekke's Poison Lizard]"

Oh, that's his name. Wait, curse magic?!

"Let's test your luck, better hope it's good, or else you'll be bedridden for life."

The lizard didn't even have the chance of making it to the door before a dagger was thrown into it's neck, decapitating it in one strike.

"Huh?" Sekke turned in that direction, before feeling cold steel pressed against his neck as he was pushed against the wall.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"B-Blake?! W-Wait, let me explain! I was just messing around, it was just a joke!"

"Cursing someone is a joke? Cursing my brother is just a joke?"

Sekke began to sweat profusely. "N-No no no, of course not, not like that! I just wanted to give my regards to Asta, that's all! How we should make a bet about who'll come on top first!"

Sekke was thrown to the ground, his shoulder took the brunt of the impact. Blake threw the dagger toward him, just barely missing his groin.

"Agh!"

"Never in your life will you be a rival to Asta. You're so far below him, you're practically 6 feet deep already." Blake materialized another dagger from his grimoire. "Try to pull this again and you will be. Now leave."

Sekke could barely form any words as he trip over himself trying to get up, and ran, as fast as he could.

Blake sighed, putting the dagger back into his grimoire.

"A bit much, wouldn't you think?"

Blake looked to see Yuno had now arrived. Actually, if he thought about it, he could feel him having been there for a couple of minutes already. "Ah, Yuno. Did you see that? Bastard tried cursing Asta with a damn poison lizard, needed to make sure he knew better."

Yuno shrugged. "I would've done something similar if you hadn't." He looked off to the side.

"Yuno, what's up, you want me to ask me something?"

Yuno sighed. "Why did you choose the Black Bulls?"

Blake took the question in, it was an understandable question, but Blake began to overthink and started to see what his choice could be seen.

"Hey, listen, Yuno. I didn't choose the Black Bulls because I favor Asta over you or anything like that."

Yuno stared at his brother, dumbfounded. "Yeah, I know that."

Now Blake felt dumb but also relieved. "Okay, good to know." He leaned against the wall. "If I'm being honest, the captain earned my respect the most. Plus, he saw in Asta what so few are capable of seeing, so...I guess a part of me feels like I owe him. It probably sounds dumb but that's my honest answer."

Yuno shook his head. "If that's what you felt was best. Besides, I'll finally get a break from your two's antics."

"And what's that supposed to mean?!"

"When the two of you are together it's like you're sharing a brain cell, that's what it means."

"...Words hurt, Yuno." Blake faked sniffles.

"Woooweee, it's all out!" Asta patted his stomach as he walked out of the restroom. "Hm? Oh, Blake and Yuno, I didn't know you were waiting for me!"

"Nevermind that, Yami's been waiting for us, let's go already." Blake lifted Asta by the collar of his jacket and started carrying him away.

"O-Oh okay. See ya, Yuno! The next time we meet, I'll be so strong you won't be able to wrap your head around it!"

"So I'll be like how you are all the time?"

"Yeah! ...Wait that was an insult! You're gonna regret that, jerk!"

"Bye-Bye, Asta."

"Yuno, kick some noble asses for me!" Blake shouted.

"I'll try my best."

"What the hell took you so long? How big of a dump did you take?"

"Yami sir, you wouldn't believe it! It was huuuge and like this long-"

Yami karate-chopped the boy's head. "That was a rhetorical question, dumbass."

Blake laughed at the interaction between the two. "You're too much sometimes Asta."

Blake then decided to walk up to Finral. "Hey, Finn, wanted to apologize for calling ya a leprechaun earlier, glad to be a part of the brigade." He held out his hand for a shake.

Finral looked at him with surprise, before accepting the handshake with a smile. I guess he's got manners after all. "It's fine, good to have you! And my name is actually Finral."

"Oh, my bad, I suck with-WHAT THE?!" Blake was jump scared by the feeling of someone breathing on his shoulder and turned to see the guy with makeup being way too close for comfort, and also realized he surpassed Blake's height by two inches.

The man mumbled something before slightly bowing his head and then holding a hand out.

I guess he's introducing himself? The guy seemed a bit strange but he didn't appear harmful. Blake shook his hand. "Happy to be working with you, G...Gor...Gourd?"

"Gordon." Finral whispered to him

"Gordon! Happy to work with you, Gordon!"

In response, Gordon gave Blake a...smile, if the tensing of your facial muscles so tightly could be considered that.

"...Okay then."

"Finral, time to go." Yami called over to them, currently gripping Asta by the head.

"Yes, sir." Finral flipped through the pages of his grimoire.

"[Spatial Magic: Fallen Angel Gate]"

An oval-shaped hole was created out of the air. From the looks of it, Finral was having trouble keeping it open for so long.

"Whoa, what's that?!" Blake was noticeably amazed by what just happened, barely taking notice of the glow of his grimoire.

"T-Think of it as a portal of sorts, we pass t-through this and we'll end up at the base of our brigade. Y-Yami sir, could you please hurry up?!"

"I know you ain't talking to me like that. Tough it out and go further beyond." Yami then proceeded to throw Asta into the portal headfirst. "In you go!"

"Oh, oh, my turn! Woohoo!" Blake dove into the portal without a second thought.

As he landed a perfect roll. He saw the clusterfuck of a mansion in front of him. Quite frankly, it looked like an abstract piece of art that nobles would think was symbolic of something or whatever.

"Woah, so this is the Black Bulls base!" Asta spoke in wonder.

"Yup, snazzy ain't it?" Yami remarked.

"Snazzy, yeah, let's go with that." Blake replied.

"This is our home now, Blake! Let's go, we should introduce ourselves-

"DUCK!"

Before Asta knew it, the sound of an explosion vibrated through the area as he was shoved to the ground by his older brother, a door blown off its hinges narrowly missing him. WAY TOO CLOSE!

"This is us, the absolute worst of the magic knights."

In front of the flames stood Yami, who turned around, taking the cigarette out of his mouth.

"Here's your warm welcome to the Black Bulls!"

Black Clover - The Three Brothers

A/N: Alright, now that you got a bit of insight into Blake's character, figured I'd put up the harem.

Vanessa

Rebecca

Grey

Secre/Nero

Elf Fana

You may give suggestions for others but I don't want to mindlessly add more girls and make this a literal clusterfuck. Try to give some sort of reasoning for why they should be included.

Noelle and Mimosa will not be included, because of Asta. Charlotte for Yami. I'm thinking of doing Sol x Magna. All else is fair game I suppose?

A/N: Feedback is Always Appreciated.
