Iolani Palace, 3:50 PM, Honolulu, O'ahu, Hawaii

Steve was finishing a report when he saw Catherine enter in the room. He looked up and he noticed that Catherine was smiling.

- "I'm almost finish" he announced

- "Take your time, sailor, I'm going to sit down in the sofa."

He nodded before continued his work. When he closed his computer, approximately two hours later, Steve understood he wanted to come back home.

He stood up slowly and rejoined the sofa where Catherine was lying down. He noticed she was asleep, and he began to ask himself about how he had to wake up her because he didn't know if the kiss they had the yesterday was evidence of a new chapter of their story.

- "Steve?" Danny called out him.

He turned and he saw his best friend standing on the doorstep.

- "Good evening. See you tomorrow and try to see with your girl if you can begin the creation of little-McGarrett" he said.

- "You are stupid, Danny. Good evening" Steve laughed.

- "You too" he said with a shrug of eyebrows more than suggestive before leaving.

Steve looked Cath again, who was still asleep. He was true he wanted to begin a father one day but he didn't know if the life was agree with. Or just Catherine.

He finished to decide, and he bent for put his lips on Cath's ones.

During longs seconds, she didn't react, and big doubts began to arrive in Steve's mind but disappeared when she began to move her lips for kiss him and passed one of her hands on his neck. They finished by separate each other with short-winded.

- "I want to give us another chance, Cath" announced Steve

Catherine looked the man in the front of her and noticed he looked like serious. She straightened up while smiling.

- "I think it's the best thing I can ever have, she said. I love you, sailor."

- "I love you too" Steve replied with a smile

Steve put his face closer of Cath's one before kissing her. She put her head on his shoulder, so they became a little bit closer while the kiss became more intense.

- "I take you to dinner tonight. That's good for you?" he proposed.

- "It's a good idea, sailor. The day has been long" she smiled.

- "Okay. So, let's go?" he asked.

She nodded and Steve hold his hand for help her to get up on the sofa. She took it and they went out the palace for a good evening.

After the dinner, Steve decided to bring back Catherine to the hotel because he didn't think it was a good idea to already look ahead, to be so fast. A little bit later, he finished to stop at Catherine's hotel. She turned her head for look him and she kissed him.

- "Thank you for the evening, sailor" she said

- "You're welcome" he replied

A big smile appeared on her face before she opened the door and that's took Steve back a few years before…

Los Angeles, 2001

Cath moved away slowly. Steve knew that this kiss would stay in this memory for a long time. She opened the door of the car before turned her head to look him.

Steve heard vaguely the door slammed while Cath's lips merged on his one's for a moment who takes them to paradise.

- "Come with me" she whispered on his lips.

- "Cath, I don't want to be so…"

- "So fast? That's not what we do. I think that we have wait so long."

Steve didn't wait another thing before plunged back on her lips, but he stopped.

- "Your parents?" he asked

- "My father is in mission and my mother is in the Nevada for seeing my grandmother" she said

- "Not here, what" he resumed.

- "That's true, just not here" she smiled

Steve didn't know how they have done, but they gone out of the car, clung to the other while kissing. He smiled while asking himself how the next will be, even if he had already a little idea...

Catherine's POV

When I opened the door, I faced the facts, like the wind who swallowed up in the car.

- "I don't want to come back home now" I announced.

- "What do you want to do?" asked Steve.

- "I don't know. I just know that I'm not tired" I replied.

- "We can… Just walk on a beach, if you want" I said.

- "That's good for me, seeing I can be with you and see a smile on your face."

My heart went faster while Steve said these few words. I knew that, before, Steve will never have said that before. But the life change all of us, with the experiences we have lived, our wounds that will be never erased, our fears who can arrive in every moment. But we have to enjoy the life, with the hope, our dreams and the people we love.
