The woman in a green robe.
It's the night before Harry's birthday and it's almost midnight. They are sleeping in a shack on a small island. Dudley is asleep on the sofa, but Petunia and Vernon are in the other room which means Harry has to sleep on the floor. He only has a trashy blanket and a pillow. The wind is blowing against the windows, making a loud noise. Outside it's pouring and windy, it's not much better inside. The wallpaper is falling apart and has holes in it here and there. The floor is made of wood and is covered in dust.
Harry is lying on his side watching the big clock ticking. Tick, tock, tick, tock. Now it's only five minutes until midnight. Suddenly Dudley makes a loud snort before turning over to the other side and falling back asleep. Harry calms down and looks at the floor again where he sees a tiny spider walking around. Harry watches it for a while before he blows it away.
Harry gets bored again and continues watching the clock. This time it is only one minute until his 11th birthday. Harry rolls onto his back and imagines what the dursleys will give him this year. Will they remember my birthday and will they even get me something? His thoughts disappear. Only 30 seconds left. There is a weird sound outside, something hitting the island. 15 seconds. Harry ignores it and rolls over to lie on his stomach. He writes"Happy birthday Harry" on the floor.
As he counted 13 seconds, he hears tapping sound outside. 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7. It's getting louder and louder. 6, 5, is something coming? 4, 3, 2, 1. There was a knocking. Harry looks up. Did someone knock? Knock, knock, knock. This time it's louder and definitely coming from the door. Harry sits up unsure of what to do. "Seriously," someone muttered outside. There is someone here!
Harry stands up and walks carefully to the door. He puts his hand on the handle and opens the door which swifts open so hard that Harry almost flies out. But instead Harry falls down on his behind. Then he looks up and sees a woman staring down at him. The woman is dressed in a green robe and wears a big pointy, green hat. She is holding a stick and a green bag that seems to be made of dragon or a big snake's skin. "Get up, Harry!" she told him.
"What? Ho,, how do you know my name?" Harry stutters
"I'm from Hogwarts and I've come to get you." The woman says.
"Hog-what? Harry says confused.
"Merlin, Harry. Hogwarts!" the woman exclaims.
"Wha– Harry begins, but he gets interrupted by Vernon rushing out of the other room, holding a gun. He looks around and points the gun all around the room. Then he locks eyes with the woman and screams.
"Oh, hi Vernon. Nice to meet you again." The woman greets him.
"Who are you? Vernon half screams.
"Of course you don't remember me. My I'm professor McGonagall." She says, introducing herself. "I'm here to get Harry to Hogwarts."
"Hogwarts? No, he is not going to "HoGwArTs!" Vernon says, mocking the place.
"You don't have much of a choice."
"Who do you think you are?" he roared. "I'm his uncle. He lives under my roof. I think it's up to us if he will go to that school."
"I'm taking Harry with me and there is nothing you can do about it." Mcgonagall told him, frustrated..
Then she starts to leave before she looks back and says "you coming Harry?"
Harry, who is really tired of the Dursleys and doesn't want to be with them anymore, follows the strange woman. They sat down in her boat and Harry begins to speak.
"What are you?" he says
"Oh,Harry, you don't know anything?" She sighed. "I'm a witch, and you Harry, you're a wizard."
"A wizard? But I'm just Harry, are you sure you got the right person?""Yes, I'm sure."he confirms.
They were both quiet as they traveled towards land. When they come to the beach Mcgonagall stands up and draws out her stick before pointing it at the boat and suddenly it vanishes. Then she starts to walk away towards the city, Harry follows her.
It's cold and dark outside, but the moon and the stars are shining so bright that it doesn't feel quite as dark anymore.
