Prompt: "Are you insane?"
"Do you really want me to answer that?"
Truthfully, Pru wasn't exactly sure what to expect from a team briefing. And she also wasn't exactly sure that the team even knew what to expect, but that was besides the point. She'd ended up missing the last one due to Nathan telling her that she needed to go and pick up the outfits and what not that they had needed for that one. Alec and Sophie had insisted to Nathan this time, however, that she needed to be there. So, here she was sitting in the tech room, listening to the briefing.
"Alan Foss, hedge-fund manager for Smith and Marken in New York. He made forty million dollars in the last two years. And he picked up some pretty high-cost, high-profile hobbies. Started with high-stakes poker and now owning race horses."
Parker looked a little paler than normal and raised her hand (Pru raised her eyebrow but didn't say anything). "I think I have a fever; can I be excused from this one?"
Pru furrowed her eyebrows as Sophie looked concerned and began to gesture the thief closer. "Oh, come here. Let me feel your head."
Nathan put his hand on Sophie's arm. "No, don't, don't feel her. Why do you, what, what's the deal?"
"I once saw a horse kill a clown." Pru had to bite her lip to stop herself from laughing at her. Parker continued, "I just really don't like horses."
Pru coughed this time. "Parker, are you insane?"
"Do you really want me to answer that?"
Nathan looked unamused. "Moving on."
Alec took back over now. "Six months ago, Foss poured a pile of cash into buying all of the horses from Willie's stable. About the fireā¦"
"Massacre." Eliot piped in now. "The massacre."
Sophie looked over at the hitter. "Ooh, you are a bit hot on this one."
Alec looked a bit frustrated now. "Oh-okay, hot, yes. Everybody, y'all want to take over the briefings?"
As Alec continued talking, Pru shook her head. If this was what team briefings were going to look like, she definitely wasn't missing another. It was too damn entertaining.
