The Manowar took the blue robot into it.
"Kettil, he's coming," Pluto opened the lower hatches, which functioned as an entrance and did not shoot the crew into orbit. Widar came up the steps, where Victor and the rest of the crew were already eagerly awaiting his arrival, "So, you got the bolts?"
"Here...", depressed, he threw the large bag onto the floor, where the money was already spilling out of the opening. The crew rejoiced, because now they had one of the things they needed for Victor's ominous and mysterious plan to break up the heroes. The extremists also realized that the lombaxes were too strong for them to fight back, so the red leader was surprised to see his blue colleague still whole, "Good work, Widar."
"Hey, what's wrong," came Marit's somewhat worried voice, as the big one was still sobbing a little.
"They said they don't want to play with me anymore," said the blue one sadly, "We're not friends anymore."
"My gosh. Don't hang your head over something like that," Gunar admitted from the corner with his arms crossed, which only elicited a warning look from the female robot, "Show some compassion for our team, you old loony!" Kettil also joined the lady and placed his iron hand on the shoulder of the colossus in front of him: "Yes, cheer up, Widar. You've done enough for the team. Now get on with your coloring book."
"Okay," the big one said cheerfully and disappeared into his cabin. Victor collected the bolts and counted them comfortably, "Excellent, that should be enough! Now I just need a sample of the lombaxes and a place to spend the money!"
"Yes..." the red robot turned to his team, "I think Marit would be suitable for this sneak mission. Just lure the two of them away from Megalopolis and to you. Then I'll leave the rest to you!"
"Gladly. I have to get back to my job anyway," the iron machine walked to the capsule and flew away. The rebuilt one raised his brows questioningly, to which the extremist leader immediately had an answer, "Marit has a double life. She works as a model for a company under the name Mirey Petty. If she somehow manages to lure them to her, then she has a chance of getting something from the lombaxes!"
"Sounds brilliant. Let's hope she comes back with results," the two leaders stared out through the windshield into the dark space. They were determined to strike down the heroes, fulfill Victor's revenge and finally get the prompts the red one wanted.
"I'll get you, failure!"
The front door opened again. The four heroes of the dimensions stepped inside and put the bags full of groceries on the kitchen table. Clank and Kit helped Ratchet and Rivet put away the groceries they had bought, before tidying up the other things, such as clothes. "Luckily they were still on sale," the silver one tried to lighten the mood, but in vain. The mood of the two lombaxes was still tense because of Rivet's wrong choice of words when talking to the stupid blue robot, which had led to a fierce fight. The yellow counterpart of Clank was also worried, even as she tried to spread good cheer, "Yeah...especially the cilantro. You'd think you'd only spend a penny, hmhm." Not even the familiar giggle from Clank had done any good, as the two were still quietly putting things away and so the two bots were quiet too, when...
"Kit, the alarm clock in my room is broken. Can you and Clank go check on it?"
The rebel shot out. The robots' optics snapped up. The silver one had a bad feeling about the whole thing, but decided to spare his yellow counterpart what was to come and walked with her towards the lombaxes bedroom, "We'll...go and have a look." And so the door was closed. Ratchet didn't care and was tidying up some things in the living room.
"Where are you going?"
"To tidy up the things I bought for you," he said, annoyed, before turning his gaze around, "Rivet, I'm not in the mood right now."
"Oh, I'm sure you are. Explain to me what that was all about earlier," the white one came closer to her boyfriend, who maintained his stance. Ratchet might have allowed a few things, but he didn't allow him to make himself look small in front of her in situations like this, "Oh, what? That you went about it all wrong?" "Exactly! Do you think I'm an amateur?" Rivet had now involved him in a discussion where there was no way out. Unfortunately, the orange one let himself get carried away, "I never said that!" But the rebel wasn't so easily dismissed.
"Because I shouted at a killing machine, whose IQ doesn't even come close to Qwark, I'm the bad guy now, or what?"
"I'm just saying that if you hadn't shouted at that thing, other ways would have been found," the orange one took a step back. Rivet got a little too close to him during the discussion, and before letting his guard down he made his next move, "Is it that you still don't trust robots?"
"THAT'S NOT TRUE," she suddenly yelled out.
"I thought you'd finally believe me, that I've changed about that," she continued, looking at her boyfriend with angry eyes. Ratchet remained paralyzed by the outcry before he became slightly louder, "I do! It was a normal question, nothing more!"
"It sounded more like mistrust and provocation," Rivet turned around briefly and denied Ratchet any eye contact. The hero, on the other hand, found this action rather childish, "Don't you want to look me in the eye anymore, or why are you turning away from me?"
"Be careful what you say," came out the grumbling lombax woman, which only made the orange one play with fire, "I was just asking if you don't quite trust robots yet. Like not Clank and Kit either..."
Then Rivet turned around in a flash and came very close to Ratchet.
"I told you to watch your mouth," her mechanical finger tapped against his chest. Ratchet remained upright, but his girlfriend's reaction had gripped him and he was starting to get serious. He raised his left hand to push her prosthesis away from his chest, "Don't touch me like that!" But his hand was knocked away from hers, which only increased the tension. Both lombaxes stared at each other menacingly. If the next one said the wrong thing, it would escalate completely. But it didn't come to that, suddenly Ratchet made a wide turn around Rivet and strode to the door, "I forgot something at the supermarket!" He put his key card in his pocket and another vest, as the wind was getting stronger, before opening the front door.
"You forgot your wallet," before he could react to Rivet's words, the object banged against the back of his head. This was followed only by a loud slam of the door, which the orange hero slammed shut.
When Ratchet was finally gone, the rebel sat down on the couch. Although she was angry, she was fighting the tears that were getting ready to roll down her eyes. At that moment, Clank and Kit stepped out again, only to see the white lombax sobbing quietly on the couch, but there was no sign of Ratchet. "The...alarm clock's working again," Clank announced cautiously as the two robots climbed up to the couch. Kit came straight up to Rivet and gently stroked her prosthesis, "Where...is Ratchet? Is everything all right?"
"He...just forgot something," her hard shell formed again and the tears were pulled back, "He'll be back soon..."
Two hours passed.
Kit had decided to make her best friend a hot chocolate in the afternoon as a consolation, and Clank also took a cup of warm oil. "Gary always said that meditation and inner peace help, but nothing is stronger than chocolate," said the yellow one as she handed Rivet the cup, which she gratefully accepted, "Thanks, partner."
"Hm... Ratchet's been gone for two hours now," said the silver one worriedly, "Is he all right?" "I'm sure," whispered the rebel, taking a sip of the warm drink and trying to change the subject, "Do you want to do something special tonight?"
"Well..." before anyone could answer, the door opened.
Ratchet came back in, visibly groggy and a little wet from the rain that had formed outside. He walked slowly towards the table before his girlfriend also made eye contact with him and there was a brief silence. "...Hey..." came quietly from the male Lombax, whose voice sounded sad, and so the rebel greeted him back, "...Hey..." Silence fell again for a moment. The two robots were already worried about what might happen next, but then the orange one placed both hands on the hands of his girlfriend, "Rivet, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said something like that to you. You're not an amateur and you don't deserve to have your confidence questioned. Please, honey, I'm so sorry."
Nothing came again for a moment. Rivets look was full of surprise before she got a few tears in her eyes and threw herself head over heels at the hero and took him in her arms: "Oh, Ratchet... I'm sorry too." "Shh, it's all good," they were both overjoyed. They hated these fights, but unfortunately it happened and in the end it always led to them falling into each other's arms and both asking for forgiveness.
"Glad everything turned out well again," Clank said with a smile, to which Kit immediately joined him, "Want some hot chocolate, Ratchet? I've made some."
"I won't say no to that," he said, laughing under Rivets neck fur, who still didn't let go of him, "Uh, honey. I like your hug... but I need to catch my breath." "Huh? OH, sorry, hehe," she immediately got off him, and Ratchet joined the others, whereupon the yellow one handed the hero a cup. All four heroes drank the evening away side by side, laughing together and thinking about what they wanted to do tomorrow.
"Speaking of which, Clank. The letter is for you!"
"Hm," the silver robot took the piece of paper, which he opened despite his thick fingers. "What does it say, pal?" Ratchet was curious, as were Rivet and Kit. The little robot read through every word before he finished, "It's from the perfume company *K.R.A.F.T.W.O.R.K*, and it's an offer."
"What kind of offer, Bolts," the curiosity of the lombaxe and his counterpart grew as Clank finally got to the point, "A new perfume, where I'm supposed to pose as Agent Clank for the next commercial, together with a certain Mirey Petty."
"Oh, that'll be exciting," Kit commented. She found everything that her counterpart had to do exciting. "Well, life as a retired movie star, eh," The four of them laughed at that, but then Clank decided, "Then I'll call in the morning and say we can do it." So it was decided. Tomorrow there would be a trip to a company where Clank would do a photo shoot.
That was all they had planned anyway, before Ratchet yawned, "I'm going to bed. It's been a tough day today. The thing with Victor, that is."
"I'll be right up," Rivet said gently, which brought a smile to the hero's face. Both were still happy to have just made up and hoped inwardly that they would never have to argue again, especially when a revenant robot and his terrorist friends were out and about in the universe. Shortly afterwards, Rivet followed her into the bedroom, snuggled up comfortably to her sweetheart, who hugged his rebel, "I love you!"
"I love you too," followed by an intimate kiss before they both talked a little more and then finally closed their eyes peacefully and went to sleep.
Their love should remain strong, because they both knew that there was still a lot to come.
