Yes, the first chapter is short. The following chapters are longer. With the placement of chapter 2, the story will become M rated.
We all saw how Diego managed to swallow back in the words he really wanted to say when Victoria asked what he wanted most.
My question was, what was exactly what Diego wanted most. (I have a suspicion) It became the start of this story. What if Victoria sensed that she wanted the same thing Diego had wanted to say. Especially after that intense stare later that night. What if she had her personal reasons for not giving in to her deepest desires.
What if she does now?
That's the start. The rest of the story will get based on my first attempt at writing a story. I never posted it because I thought it was too bad after reading the many great stories here at fanfiction. Maybe the story still is terrible. I came across this first attempt again. Some of the ideas I've already used once, so I filter them out. However, the mainline is still unused on my computer and in my head. With the necessary adjustments and new ideas, it might turn out to be something. It was the first attempt, and love is all around. And a little bit of fear later on. HEA guaranteed.
So put on the fluff alarm. And hopefully, it will get enough views (rather, I have reviews and followers ;)) to encourage me to (re)write and post more chapters.
I don't own any of the characters from the series.
The story is mostly T-rated. Some chapters contain M-rated scenes. I have marked those chapters with a * next to the chapter number so it is easier for the readers not interested in too much smut to skip certain parts.
Isn't there something you want above everything else?
Chapter 1 (T-rated)
"Sleep, I need sleep." Diego squeezed out of his mouth just in time. Victoria rolled her eyes in irritation as he sank back onto the cold hard surface.
Torture. Being here, was pure torture. It shouldn't have taken half a second longer for his self-control to take over.
Otherwise, he would have jumped up, pulled Victoria from the ramshackle bench into his arms and kissed her until she couldn't remember who she was. Let alone that she remembered the name of his alter ego. A man that was at the same time his greatest enemy for the very reason Victoria preferred this man over him.
How would Victoria have reacted at that moment? Diego knew exactly how. She would freeze in horror, slap him in the face.
Her eyes would get filled with disgust. And Diego would lose her friendship. And all his dreams, hopes and chances of happiness in life would be pulverized to smithereens.
Diego could live with the idea that she would never love don Diego as much as she adored and loved Zorro. Both men were part of him, and he understood that don Diego evoked less intense emotions.
But the idea of disgust, repulse or hatred, to ever see those emotions in Victoria's dark brown eyes. He rather dies.
And so, just in time, he had managed to put on his invisible mask and play the part of don Diego.
And at the moment, his whole body was screaming for the one thing he wanted, needed most.
He could not risk falling asleep. It was too dangerous. Victoria already haunted him in his most arousing dreams and darkest nightmares.
He had to lie still beside her, separated only by that rickety wooden bench. So close, he could hear her breathing, smell her scent. He had to pretend to sleep in painful torture that was going to last a very long, freezing cold night.
