Disclaimer: I don't own Charmed. The idea for this revelation came from Careful Daughter's 'Moments of Revelation' Soul Survivor. The first two chapters are based on it, after that I'll be going my own way.

Moments of Revelation is a brilliant series of unlinked one-shots, each showing a different way Chris's true identity could've been revealed in each episode, and I highly recommend it to all Chris lovers (and what Charmed fan doesn't love Chris and revelation stories?).

As usual for my stories, Chris is (and has always been) a girl in this story. Her name is Katharine "Kate" Patricia Halliwell, and there is no Melinda. Bianca is a guy called Nicolas Parker (Parker being the surname of a woman burned at Salem) Sanchéz (Bianca is played by a Latina actress, so I chose a random Latino surname). Emilia Clarke is my face for Kate in this, and Diego Luna in Rogue One for Nico. In this story, Piper died when Kate was 8 and Wyatt was 9. Wyatt was taken Up There by Leo, while Phoebe raised Kate (Paige died in the Titan attack, after which Leo made Piper and Phoebe into goddesses and they avenged their sister). Wyatt took over in 2018, when he was 16 and Kate was 14, shortly before Phoebe's death, and she came back from 2024 (this year!) when she was 19, turning 20.

Also as usual for my stories, Cole is not dead, he is alive, sane and married to Phoebe (though in the DT he died when Kate was a toddler protecting the surviving sisters). He was never possessed by the Source, and so wasn't vanquished/didn't become insane/etc. He was given witch powers by the Elders as a reward for his help in vanquishing the Source and to fill the hole in his soul. He's a pyrokinetic who can Fade (a type of magical transportation power according to Charmed Wiki). The baby thing did happen, however, and they put off having another child for a few years to recover.

Kate has more than just Telekinesis and Orbing, because I just can't believe that a child of an Elder (and yes, Leo was an Elder in the DT when Kate was conceived in my opinion) and a Charmed One would be that limited. I headcanon that Chris only showed those two powers because he was traumatized by Wyatt going crazy/obsessed with power and/or because of his inferiority complex and/or not wanting to reveal too much of the future.

Now, read, enjoy and review (and go and read MoR too!)

Chapter One

The End of the World

A dinosaur, Kate thought bitterly as she and Leo lunged through the time portal, narrowly avoiding being snapped up by said dinosaur's teeth. A goddessdamned dinosaur. She'd always suspected it, but now it was certain. Katharine Halliwell had the worst luck ever.

The time portal was a swirl of colours and sounds, just like the first time, and like the portal she'd gone through to get back to 2003, but instead of feeling herself being pulled back, something seemed to be tugging her forwards. Hopefully they were going back to 2003, but Kate wouldn't put money on it. Nothing was ever that easy. Not for a Halliwell. Not for her.

Her fears were confirmed when she and Leo were spat out of the portal into a grassy meadow that was very much not San Francisco, at least not 2003 San Fran. Kate groaned and rolled onto her back, feeling dizzy from the travel. Reluctantly, she turned to Leo, who was panting beside her.

"You okay?" She asked tiredly. Turns out being chased by a prehistoric animal really took it out of you. Who'd have ever guessed?

"Yeah. Thanks for not listening to me," Leo answered as he nodded.

"You two Yankees?" A gruff, Southern drawl interrupted them. Suddenly, several muskets were being aimed at them. Kate stared up at the uniform with wide eyes. CSA. The Confederate Army.

You've got to be kidding me! She groaned mentally. This was just unfair. And she didn't know enough about the Civil War to bluff their way out, what with dropping out at fourteen to flee her insane brother and start the rebellion. She'd studied the war only in a tactical sense.

"Well?" The lead Confederate pressed, poking Kate's shirt with his musket.

She ignored him and tilted her head towards Leo. "There are Cleaners in this time, right?" She breathed.

"Should be, why?" He replied.

She responded by grabbing his wrist and disappearing in a swirl of orbs, right as the soldiers got sick of waiting for an answer and raised their rifles to fire.

They reappeared across the meadow, hidden by some trees. Kate grabbed her father and yanked him down, so they were shielded by the bushes as well. On the other side of the little valley, the soldiers were exclaiming in surprise. Kate, careful not to tip Leo off, used her psychokinesis to loudly break a branch to the west of the meadow. The soldiers heard the cracking sound and ran off, leaving the way to the time portal clear.

"That was close," Kate sighed, straightening and beginning to traipse across the grass towards the trees, one of which had to hold the time portal.

"Quick thinking, orbing us out of there," Leo stated. Kate eyed him warily, automatically suspicious of any positive comments from the man who'd been harassing her for months now.

"Yeah, well, we might survive it but being shot hurts like a bitch," Kate answered slowly. Of course, she might not survive being shot, depending on the area and whether Leo would be willing to heal her, given the fact that she was only half-whitelighter. But she couldn't say that to him.

Leo nodded in agreement, a thoughtful expression on his face as they came to a stop before the trees. "Okay," Kate stated. "One of these must hold the portal. Let's hope it takes us back to 2003 this time." She began feeling the trunks, searching for the portal and ignoring Leo's confused look. No doubt he was confused at her giving up her attempts to check whether she'd made any (significant) changes to the timeline.

She couldn't go back to 2024 again now, even though she desperately wanted to see if she'd changed anything yet. If the people in the Resistance were safe. She couldn't risk Leo seeing the future. It was too dangerous, both to his life, and to her secrets.

"Here!" Leo called. Kate was pleasantly surprised that he'd told her that he'd found it, instead of just going and leaving her behind. She hurried over to him and they went in again. Once again they were tugged forwards through a tunnel of colour and sound, until they were spat out for the third time. This time they were in a dirty alleyway.

Something about the place caused a sinking feeling in Kate's stomach.

"When are we?" Leo wondered, looking around with a frown.

She held a hand across his chest, trying to force him backwards, back to the portal.

"We need to get out of here," she insisted, a feeling of dread and terror rising in her chest. After being raised by a seer for seven years, she knew to listen to her instincts. "We shouldn't be here."

Leo began to speak, but before he could there was a great cracking sound, and the sky opened, not to release rain but rather a horde of demons and other evil beings. Kate froze in fear, staring with wide eyes at the army of demons.

"What's happening?" Leo demanded, staring in horror at the great crack in the sky which swarm of demons after swarm of demons. "When are we?" There was a loud explosion, and Leo watched in terror as a large cloud of smoke started billowing up from the other side of the city.

He looked at his companion and saw raw terror and a haunted look on her face. The only thing he could compare it to was the expression of a soldier during a particularly awful battle during the war, only ten times worse.

"It's the end of the world," Kate answered in a haunted voice. "I'm serious Leo. We need to get out of here now!"

He didn't protest anymore. Kate's fear and desperation to escape radiated from her. He'd never seen her so frightened and desperate, so instead of arguing or seeking more information he just nodded, and they began hurrying back to the alley wall.

"Well look what we have here!" A smug, cruel voice called out, making them whip around. Kate cursed under her breath at the sight of, she counted quickly, seven upper-level demons, throwing energy balls up and down like baseballs. Seven upper-level demons and a future father who couldn't die without erasing Kate's existence. Not good. She raised her hands and prepared to fight. Screw her cover. She'd take Leo knowing the truth about her heritage over them both dying in fucking 2018. She'd just have to stick to telekinesis, a common power, and not reveal she had extra powers, especially any molecular manipulation or electrokinesis, both of which would make him suspicious, as molecular manipulation was a Halliwell-specific power and electrokinesis was an Elder only power.

Leo had also come to the conclusion that they needed to fight, clearly, as he'd grabbed what looked like an abandoned piece of a pipe. Not much of a weapon, but it would have to do because just then they had to dodge several energy balls, as the demons launched their attack.

Three of them went for Leo, while the other four went for Kate, who'd quickly proven herself the bigger threat when she flicked her wrists and scattered them all around the alleyway.

Thank the Goddess, she'd kept up with her training while in the past, and kept herself sharp by hunting any demons she didn't need the Power of Three for. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for the other demons fighting Leo came to join their fellows in attacking her after she killed two of them. Leo noticed the trouble she was in, and, to Kate's horror, he orbed to her side, prepared to help her.

"Leo, no!" She shouted, too late to stop him. Oh fuck, she cursed mentally. We have three minutes to get the hell out of here. "Leo, when I say run, run for it!" She yelled. "And for the love of the Goddess do not orb!" She shoved forward and sent the demons flying at the wall. "Run!" She cried, holding them in place long enough for her and Leo to take off sprinting.

Thankfully, running was another thing she'd kept up with in the past, though less discreetly, as while the sisters were amused, they weren't suspicious of her 'hobby'. They just thought she was a particularly exercise-conscious whitelighter. She was able to run easily, her braid slapping against her back, and Leo at her heels, the older man panting a bit at the rapid pace she'd set. Though they could screams and yells and see smoke, the area was abandoned. It was surprising, but she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. She didn't want to either get too far from the portal or risk running into more demons, so as soon as she judged it safe she came to a stop in front of an empty store. She tried to open the door but it was locked.

"Kate, what-?" Leo began to ask, but he fell silent when she raised her hand.

There was no choice but to use magic. They needed to get inside and hide until the coast was clear. Thank the Goddess the probes didn't exist yet.

"Time goes tick tock, so with a knock does this door unlock," she muttered, coming up with it on the fly. She knocked on the door and it swung open, much to her relief. "Come on, inside, inside," she urged Leo, ushering him into the abandoned shop. "Over here," she tugged him over to the cash desk and they huddled beneath it.

Kate glanced at her watch. Ten-forty-five, it said, though that probably wasn't the time on this day specifically. The attack had come when she and Phoebe were out for dinner and a movie. Not that it mattered very much. What mattered was figuring out how long they could hide here for. She estimated they had been running for less than ten minutes, and the fight had lasted maybe five more. The time portal wouldn't stay longer than three hours at most. They would wait for a while, maybe twenty minutes, then return to the alleyway.

"Alright," she sighed, turning to her future father. She knew she wasn't getting out of this without giving him some information. Just as long as she didn't tell him about Wyatt or her own identity, it should be okay. "What do you want to know?"

Leo was silent for a moment, probably gathering his thoughts. "You did magic, to get us in," he said finally. "And back at the alleyway, you used telekinesis to fight the demons."

Kate tucked a loose strand of hair out of the way as she answered. "I did."

"You're a witch," he stated.

"Half-witch," she corrected, unease making her stomach twist. She really hoped he wouldn't put the pieces together (she would never admit a part of her longed for him to do so. She would never admit that she wanted her family back. Wanted them to help her, instead of fight with her). "My father was my mother's whitelighter. After granting permission for you and Piper to marry, the Elders couldn't justify refusing it to everybody else who wanted a whitelighter-charge union without being hypocrites."

None of which was a lie, of course. She was just making it sound like that was her story too.

Leo nodded silently. To Kate's surprise, he didn't attack her verbally about lying, instead continuing with his questioning.

"When are we?" He asked.

"December 31st, 2018," Kate murmured. The date, and everything that happened on it, was emblazoned in her mind.

"What did you mean by the end of the world?" He questioned her.

"Exactly that," she answered tiredly. "There's a new Source, or, as he calls himself, the 'Emperor of All'. He's spent the past two years secretly taking over the Underworld, bringing some of the worst demons and other evil beings the sisters ever fought back from Purgatory and uniting them with the promise of bringing them topside.

He chose to do attack on the last day of the year to 'symbolize the fall of the old world order and rise of the new'. Right now, his army are attacking every government in the world, magical or mortal, and taking over. By the 1st of January 2019, he's taken over everything. A rebellion eventually forms to fight him, but that doesn't really get off the ground for a year or so. Before that, we were too busy saving people, warding safehouses, that sort of thing."

Leo looked stunned. "But-the Cleaners- the Elders-" he stammered.

"Dead, all of them," Kate replied dully. "As well as the Tribunal."

"This is all linked to whatever happens to Wyatt?" Leo realized. "This is what you've come back to prevent?"

"Yes," Kate confirmed. "I can't tell you how this relates to Wyatt," she continued before he could even finish opening his mouth to ask her. "Just know that saving Wyatt is the key to stopping this timeline from ever occurring. Believe me, I consulted dozens of seers and oracles before coming back to figure out what I needed to do. They all told me that what happens, starts with Wyatt being kidnapped shortly before turning two."

Leo nodded solemnly. No doubt he thought something had happened to keep the Twice-Blessed from standing between the new Source and world domination. With his love for Wyatt blinding him, he would never guess that it was Wyatt himself who was the 'Emperor'.

Goddess, she hated that title.

"So this must be your past, then," Leo realized. "When are you from?"

"2024," Kate shrugged. "I was fourteen years old when this happened "

Six years, Leo mused. Six years of evil ruling the world. How much worse would things have gotten in that interval? And Kate had been only fourteen years old, a child in truth. She must have been traumatized. No wonder Kate was so paranoid and obsessed with fighting demons. No wonder she was so desperate to save Wyatt. And if she was fourteen in 2018, then, she was only twenty. Younger than the sisters when they received their powers, and yet fighting a war. Having lived through a brutal war himself, he knew she must have PTSD and probably Survivor's Guilt. Most likely she'd lost family, and undoubtedly friends, comrades in arms. Her paranoia, her desperation all made sense now. He felt a new sympathy for her.

"Why can't we orb?" He asked, knowing expressing his sympathy would only annoy her. He understood that much about her, at least.

"The Source cast a spell that alerts him whenever someone orbs, and somehow it can tell the difference between whitelighters and darklighters," Kate explained bitterly. "He's trying to eliminate as many good witches and their whitelighters as possible." Not the whole truth, as the spell was technically designed to find Kate, but it wasn't wrong either. Wyatt took full advantage of the spell's potential for murder and mayhem.

Leo nodded in understanding.

"Why didn't anyone stop this?" Leo asked.

Kate grimaced, trying to hide the ache in her heart. She and Wyatt had grown up separately after Piper's death, Wyatt in the Heavens with Leo, her on Earth with Phoebe. Often, she wondered if she could have stopped this if they'd been around Wyatt, if she or Phoebe could have noticed something was off with their empathic abilities. She supposed she'd never know. "Nobody knew," she whispered. "He- we thought he was good. Nobody knew."

Leo looked shocked at that, but perhaps he realized this was a painful topic for her, because he didn't press. "How long should we stay here for?" He wondered instead. Kate was grateful for the release from the painful conversation, and checked her watch.

"It's been long enough that the coast should be clear," she stated. "Come on, let's go. I don't want to wait too long and risk the portal disappearing. If it is, we'll have to rely on the spell I used to go back in time, and getting our hands on it would be almost impossible in this time. It took months of preparation in my time."

Leo nodded and they crept out of the store, hurrying back to the alley. Kate stayed ready to fight the whole time, but there was nothing. No demons, warlocks or even mortals. The streets were barren, though the distant screams kept her on edge. Leo occasionally sent distressed looks in their direction, but he didn't protest Kate's insistence that they ignore them in favour of escaping this damned time. They would survive when they saved Wyatt.

They reached the alleyway where they'd arrived and Kate instantly went over to begin running her hands over the wall in search of the portal.

"Kate!" Leo exclaimed, making her spin. Her eyes widened in alarm when she saw a probe hovering behind them. She raised her hands to send it flying into the wall, but froze when it projected an image of Wyatt.

He was sixteen years old, in 2018. Sixteen years old and he'd just successfully taken over the world. His eyes were already cold, the blue darkened to an almost black that reflected his dark soul, and the sight of him, seeming to stare right at her, sent a shiver of terror down Kate's spine.

"Kate?" Leo said questioningly, concerned at the witchlighter's clear terror. He didn't know the young boy in the projection, but something about him seemed strangely familiar. And it seemed strange that Kate would look so afraid at the sight of a young teenager.

Kate shook off her fear and sent the probe flying into the wall. It wouldn't scan for magic, Wyatt wouldn't create those additions to the probes for another year or so, but she didn't need Leo hearing the broadcast Wyatt had made. The details of Wyatt's first speech were blurred in her mind, something of minor importance in comparison to everything else that had happened that terrible day, but no doubt it would reveal far too much to Leo.

Of course, because Kate's luck was terrible, the image stayed even after the probe was destroyed. She cursed her brother under her breath. Of course Wyatt would create a projector that wouldn't stop projecting until he was finished speaking. Of course, the egotistical psychopathic super-villain would do that.

She began searching for the portal with increasing desperation as Wyatt began to speak.

"Greetings, citizens," he said pompously. "Some of you know me already. For those who do not, allow me to introduce myself. I am Wyatt Matthew Halliwell, the Twice-Blessed Child, and your new Emperor."

Fucking hell, can't I catch a goddessdamned break? Kate thought despairingly, still feeling the wall for the portal. Where was the damn thing?

"For all of history, the world has warred between two false codes of morality, that of 'good' and 'evil'. But they are lies. There is nothing but power. I am the most powerful witch of all time, from the most powerful lineage, and so have taken my rightful place as ruler. As ruler, I will protect all those who bend to my will.

And I will destroy any who fight back."

Leo wasn't speaking, and it was freaking Kate out. She still couldn't find the portal, so she moved a bit further up the wall.

"Do not fear my enforcement squads," Wyatt went on, his voice smooth and full of threat. "They are under my control, and will only kill those who resist. Obey my will, and you and your families will be safe.

They are also looking for somebody."

Kate spun around again, staring in horror at the projection. Somehow, this part of Wyatt's first speech had been shoved to the back of her mind. This was a disaster, but there was no way for her to stop it.

The image of Wyatt changed to one of Kate at thirteen, almost fourteen, her long hair in bunches and dressed in a blue jumper with a crest and a plaid skirt. An old school photo, though where he'd gotten it was beyond Kate. But other than the longer hair and warm smile that had disappeared around the time of her aunt's death, she looked much the same. Certainly, she looked similar enough for Leo to recognize her.

Wyatt said the words that yanked away the last of Kate's secrets, and she cursed him for it.

"This is my sister, Katharine Halliwell," he announced. Fearfully, Kate met Leo's eyes. He was staring at her in shock, his mouth opening and closing like a goldfish. It would've been funny in any other circumstances.

"Anyone caught concealing her will be charged with treason against the Emperor and executed," Wyatt continued, showing the image of Kate's younger self for a few moments longer before it changed back to him. This time, he spoke directly to Kate, and she shuddered in fear at the threat in his voice. Nothing good came from that tone, only pain and fear. "Katy, if you're listening to this, come back to the Manor. The longer you take, the angrier I will be, and Aunt Phoebe wants to see you too. You have an hour, or I will have to take drastic measures. You don't want that to happen."

The image disappeared, and Kate promptly went back to looking for the portal. She found the portal almost immediately and, bitterly cursing her luck that she couldn't have found it five minutes ago, turned back to Leo, who was still in shock, apparently. She left her hand in the portal so it wouldn't disappear again.

"I've found it, come on," she urged her father urgently.

"Kate-" he began.

She cut him off impatiently.

"No Leo. Not right now. You heard what he said, the entire world, never mind the city, is full of demons looking for me. If he finds us, he'll figure out my plan and keep you here to erase me, if he doesn't just kill us both. We have to go now."

That snapped Leo out of his shock and he hurried over. Together, they plunged into the portal, hopefully for the last time.
