The United States, like the rest of the world, was very interested in developing the "perfect human". That is to say a human who had the undeniable qualities to justify this title. Intelligence, strength, a strong mind, the persuasion and the manipulation to be a strong leader. The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was well aware of the White Room in Japan. They trained their experiments in a controlled environment. In essence they believed an individual was only able to reach their true potential in an environment without distractions and a meticulous curriculum with a controlled routine.
The United States had followed Japan in its footsteps of creating an undercover operative in which they trained young experiments to become the perfect experiment. The United States for different reasons. They were more interested in raising the perfect spy. To spy on enemies and allies alike. The curriculum in the Black Room closely resembled those of the White Room. However, the Black Room was more intent on keeping their operative a secret. They only chose young children from orphanages or runaways. This way no one would ask where the children were disappearing off to.
Usually the CIA would be hands off in terms of involving themselves with the White Room operation. However, their perfect experiment had escaped. They had attempted for a full year to retrieve their asset back. However, the task proved rather difficult for them. Of course Atsuomi Ayanokouji was intent on retrieving his son. However, this information wasn't disclosed and only White Room operatives had this intel. So they thought. The CIA had already planted a mole within the White Room. How did the CIA know about the White Room? Well the CIA funded it of course. They were very happy to help with creating experiments for the Japanese benefit.
The Black Room was located within the states at a black site. Which meant even to the government it was an off the books operation. The outside structure was located in the barren desert. An abandoned factory as a ploy to the real Black Room. The Black Room was as you would expect an interior of black walls with overhanging lights. The dorms for the experiments were bare and simple. Only a bed and bathroom with basic necessities. No mirrors were in place, this allowed the experiments to become dull to their own personal appearance.
Unlike the White Room, the Black Room was able to create two "perfect experiments". Unfortunately, one of their prized experiments was lost to an incurable illness. Therefore bringing their perfect experiments to one.
On the projector Kiyotaka Ayanokoji's information was displayed. His age, height, and distinguishing physical characteristics alongside his photo.
"Like you have already been briefed. This subject is from the White Room. Unfortunately he was able to escape with the assistance of a butler. You would think his father would be more vigilant on his creation" Smith, the Black room operative explained.
"Why do we have to be involved in this? That should be their problem" the seventeen year old experiment questioned.
The Black Room's perfect experiment's name was Lake. He was the same age as Kiyotaka Ayanokoji. Just from looking at him you could tell he was above the average American height, measuring at 185 cm. He had wavy gold brown hair with rare amber eyes. His sun kissed skin was from the overwhelming desert heat and strong sun rays.
"It is our wish within the Black Room to ensure Kiyotaka graduates from the Advanced Nurturing High School." Smith replied.
"That does not make sense. I thought the intel said the White Room wanted to expel him. Why would the Black Room ensure he graduates from high school?" Lake questioned. His question was valid as the Black Room supposedly held the same goal in mind.
"What the Black Room leader wants is for him to graduate. With our assistance and your persuasion we hope that he will change his allegiance and join us" Smith responded hastily.
"This is why your learning curriculum has changed. You must attend this school and become friends with Kiyotaka" For the past year his curriculum had changed from his peers. Centered more on the Japanese school curriculum. Now he was proficient in the Japanese language and had learned the various customs and cultural differences to ensure he would fit in as much as possible.
Although Lake heard of the Black Room's main goal he was hardly a believer. Lake wasn't convinced he would become friends with the White Room's masterpiece. Both Lake and Kiyotaka didn't have any idea of what a friend actually was. They were human beings without emotions. A human being with no attachments.
"When does this assignment start?" Lake asked as he read through the file he was given. The files were quite large. Lake turned page after page noticing how dangerous Kiyotaka could be. His studies and tests were better than the rest of his peers. If tests were conducted similarly he even surpassed Lake in some subject test areas. However, Lake scored higher in other task areas as well. More or less they were rather equal with experience being the deciding factor.
"Your transfer has been accepted to the school already. You leave tomorrow. However, you will be one day late for the start of the term. Brush up on your honorifics. You'll need them." Smith exited the conference room as Kiyotaka's picture lit the dark room.
The start of term commenced after Spring Break. The opening ceremony had arrived and the first years were to be welcomed. As Ayanakoji entered his class he noticed that on the blackboard there were instructions.
"Sit in the same seats you were assigned in your first year and wait. There will be a special announcement"
Kiyotaka looked on as he noticed the rest of his class filter in. He decided to take his seat as the rest of his peers did so as well. He could overhear the bustling conversations from his classmates. Catching up with one another. However, he never understood why they would ask how their break went when they all spent it on campus. After all, one of the requisites of attending the school was that they were basically locked in on the school campus for all three years.
As the conversation continued he began to think about the incoming first years. Which one would be the White Room assassin. Acting director Tsukishiro had warned him saying that the White Room would take extra measures to ensure he would return back to his father. He wasn't fond of having to look behind his back now knowing someone was there to ensure he would fail and get expelled.
"Now everyone please settle down," Chabashira-sensei projected as she entered the classroom.
Chabashira looked towards Kiyotaka directly, which he found rather odd. He could tell something was bothering her. Her face was tense, but she easily fixed her expression as she addressed the class.
After addressing the class with the expected exams and expectations for the class. She sighed as if she was under stress.
"For the first time ever at this prestigious institute acting director Tsukishiro has allowed a transfer student" Kiyotaka straightened up in his seat as he heard this development. He quickly began thinking if this was the White Room assassin Tsukishiro had sent.
"Why would this be allowed, Chabashira-sensei?" Horikita questioned as she stood up from her seat.
Chabashira shrugged her shoulders. She in reality didn't know why this was allowed in the first place. This defeated the purpose of expelling Yamuichi during the Class Poll special Exam. Which also defeated the purpose of Ayanakoji using the protection point if class 2-D was gonna remain at full capacity.
"That is unfair to us who have been here since year one. We studied and stressed over these special exams. Why can someone just join during our second year?" Kushida complained as the rest of the class agreed with her.
"To be sincere I also do not know. However, since we are getting a new student, the Acting Director has decided to compensate the other second years classes with twenty million private points to avoid expulsion on the next exam. The acting director believes this will even the playing field with the addition of our new student in class 2-D" Chabashira finished which caused the class to go into uproar.
"That does not give us an advantage, that is giving an advantage to the other classes!" Horikita stood up from her chair as she placed her hands on the desk.
The entire class was in uproar this gave the other second year classes even more of an advantage. Class 2-D obviously had less points than the other classes. With the extra twenty million some classes could save even more than one student from expulsion.
Chabashira raised her hand to silence the class. "Now while I believe the distribution of twenty million points is a bit unfair you must live with it. What is done is done."
Chabashira left the classroom as the students were dismissed. All of the students sat in their seats. None of them dared to stand up. Everyone knew there had to be a class meeting.
"Are there any advantages to having another student in our class?" Hirata was the first one to break the silence.
Koenji decided to get up during that instant, not having a care in the world as he began to leave the classroom.
"Koenji, you have to stay and listen to our next course of action" Horikita blocked his path to the exit.
"Fu fu, I do not have to do anything. Now step aside I have more important matters to attend to" Koenji flicked his bangs ignoring Horikita's request.
"Do you not understand we are now at a severe disadvantage compared to the other classes Koeni" Horikita attempted to reason with Koenji.
"That is something the rest of you will have to deal with." Koenji sidestepped Horikita as he left the classroom.
"That good for nothing" Ken yelled as he attempted to go after Koenji before Horikita raised her hand to stop him.
"Where is the exchange student anyways?" Asked Kushida who looked at the empty seat in their classroom.
Everyone looked at the empty seat with disdain. However, they did not understand that it was not the new student's fault more so the acting directors. If they had been successful in retrieving Kiyotaka and returning him to the White Room none of these courses of action would have occurred.
The class decided to meet up at different times to ensure they were able to all give their input on the situation. Slowly but surely class 2-D filtered out of their classroom. Horikita gave Kiyotaka a questioning look but he shrugged his shoulders.
Well this is a new story I decided on. Self insert OC. I haven't read the first year of the novels. I started with the second year novels which is a bit odd I know. So this will take place from the beginning of Year 2. It will have some changes from the original light novel so grab some popcorn.
