A/N: I, of course, own nothing here, including all things Marvel and Princess Bride.

Loki approached Asta one evening after dinner.

"My love, there is still so much about life on Midgard and your own life here that I don't know. Teach me something about this place that you love."

"Oh! This is probably the perfect time to introduce you to my favorite movie of all time, nay, the best Midgardian movie of all time."

"Quite the build up. And what is this film?"

"'The Princess Bride.'"

"Aw, they made a story about you, darling?"

She rolled her eyes. "Haha, no. It's a love story, and a comedy, with action, and intrigue. It literally has it all!"

Loki chuckled at his love's enthusiasm. "Well, then. I think watching this film will be the perfect way to end the day. Shall we go to the theater room?"

Asta shook her head. "No, I'd actually rather watch it in here with you, if that's alright?"

"Of course! I wouldn't mind holding you close whilst watching your favorite motion picture."

She smiled brightly as she glanced to the ceiling. "FRIDAY, will you play the best movie of all time, please?"

"Right away, Doctor Who. Playing 'The Princess Bride'," the AI voice replied.

The painting on the wall in front of the bed began to turn and Loki gasped.

"Do we all have those screens in our rooms?" he asked.

Asta laughed. "We do. I guess you were never given a proper tour."

"I suppose not," Loki grumbled before snuggling close to his fiancée.

The movie opened and Loki questioned the screen. "What is this?"

"Technology from the 1980's," she answered. "The movie is actually a grandfather reading the book to his grandson."

"Oh, I see. A story within a story. Clever."

The movie went on and Loki grinned as Westley constantly told Buttercup "As you wish."

"My darling, are these the 2 you named your fish after?"

"Hmmm?" Asta half-heartedly replied, already engrossed in the story. "Oh, yes. That's exactly where they got their names."

Loki's smile turned into a questioning frown. "Oh, he must leave her. Well, that will be a lovely reunion. And… wait… he perishes?"

"Loki, just wait."

"Oh, good, an oaf prince. Wait… he weds Buttercup?"

"Just shush. You'll approve of who she ends up with."

"Please tell me it's none of these three nitwits!"

"Loki!"

"Fine, I shall wait…"

Once the Man in Black began to duel Inigo, Loki gasped and pointed at the screen. "That's Westley! Is it not?"

"Loki, just watch the movie."

"It's him. You needn't even tell me."

"Yes, you're very smart. Shut up."

Soon Buttercup and the Man in Black were resting on the hilltop after escaping Vizzini.

Loki huffed. "He raised a hand to her?!"

Asta grimaced. "Well, yes. He's not justified, but he's quite angry thinking she was going to marry another willingly and he's still playing the part of the pirate."

"That is no excuse, my love. We might have turned off the film had he actually hit her."

"Give it a second. It gets good again."

"As you wish…" Westley called as he rolled down the hill.

"He deserved that," Loki muttered.

For the rest of the movie, Loki was mostly quiet. He huffed with annoyance when Buttercup went back with Humperdinck. He laughed at Max and Valerie. And gave a simple head tilt of approval when the 3 heroes made their fiery entrance into the castle.

And then. "Ah, so this is the famous 'Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya' line."

"Yes, this is finally it."

"There's no way he'd survive that. But I suppose a need for vengeance can carry a man far."

When Buttercup and Westley were finally reunited, Loki smiled and told her, "He's right, you know. There is a shortage of perfect breasts. We should really protect yours."

Asta playfully slapped his shoulder.

And then Westley stood. "Drop. Your. Sword."

Loki pointed to the screen. "That is likely my favorite quote of the whole thing. Easily top 5."

Asta paused the movie. "All those other lines and you pick 'drop your sword"?"

"There are fantastic ones. 'As you wish' and 'have fun storming the castle' and such. But, my love, did you see the look in his eyes? The determination to protect his love and humiliate his foe? It's perfectly done."

Asta shrugged and returned to the film.

Finally, the grandfather winked at his grandson and the credits began.

Asta turned to Loki. "Ok, so, I have to ask. Who was your favorite character?"

"Well, are you asking of the main 4 characters, or any of them?"

"Both?"

"Very well. Of the primary 4, I'd have to choose Inigo. I admire Westley's devotion to Buttercup (his gross error on the hilltop aside), and Buttercup's naiveté is adorable. And Fezzik is the Thor of the group: the giant with a huge heart. But Inigo, he never wavered from his mission. He would have his vengeance come hell or high water. All while dragging along the lovable oaf."

Asta laughed. "Oh, so they were Loki and Thor?"

"Essentially, yes. Now, of the whole cast of characters, there are many that were good. I did enjoy Vizzini's plotting, and Miracle Max's magic, and even Valerie's comedic timing. But of all the characters I enjoyed the most, it was the Grandfather that I found most endearing."

"Wait, the Grandfather? The one reading the story?"

"Yes. That man had an element of mischief to him that impressed me beyond reason. He knew exactly what he was doing the whole time and, all with a playful grin, he lovingly coaxed his grandson into enjoying the story."

"You picked some of the strangest elements to appreciate from this movie. But I love it. It's just so very… you to pick up on those things."

"Yes, well, I do tend to see details differently than others. I blame Frigga and her teachings for that, most likely."

"Yes, perhaps that's true. Frigga always does have a unique way of understanding things."

"Me, for example."

"That wasn't what I meant at all, but I can see why you think that. So, did you enjoy the movie?"

"I quite enjoyed it actually. I can see why you call it your favorite. It truly had a bit of everything to enjoy. What shall we watch next?"

Asta laughed. Of course he was diving in. "Well, we could watch my favorite show: Friends."

"All right then, pull it up!"

"Loki! It's 10 seasons long, with over 20 episodes per season!"

"Then we'd better get started. FRIDAY, please start airing Friends for us."

"Right away, Reindeer Games," the AI replied.

Asta grinned. This was going to take a while, but she couldn't wait to share it with Loki.
