Chapter 4: Arriving in Equestria
It has been nearly two years since Spyro came to the Mysterious Tower and started his training as a Keyblade Master and as the Prince of Light and Darkness and he has been having a rough time with training. He has practiced with his sword play, learning how to use his magic that comes with the Keyblade and with his powers with the chaos emeralds, purple dragon, and even with the force, learning everything he can from texts and Holocrons that were made available. He even learned about his ability to shift himself from his human form and the various forms he takes on when on other worlds while working with Sora, Riku, and Kairi, into a dragon and back, which to him is not a painless experience the first go around. He even learned a lot about some of his limits when using his power while also pushing himself beyond his limit whenever he did his training and learning how to call up his own Drives after failing to master the ones Sora had, which gives Sora's drives a run for his money.
While in the Sandlot, Spyro was meditating in the center, clearing his mind from the previous mission that involved Alice from Wonderland, a horde of Heartless trying to catch her, and a botched up trial involving the Queen of Hearts while trying to prove Goofy didn't trash her rose garden. Somehow the queen thought Goofy had uprooted her rose bushes when protecting her when all he did was knock a Soldier down and away and it just landed in the bush, shredding it as it tried to get away. Spyro smiled and chuckled a bit remembering how red the queens face got when it happened, but then put the memory out of his head as he sensed someone sneaking up behind him. Calling his Keyblade, he leapt into the air and flipped behind the assailant to be and engaged in battle, both sides weapons clashing as they each swung and slashed at each other as sparks flew. The battle ended when Spyro knocked his opponents blade into the air and grabbed it, pointing his Keyblade at his attacker.
When he got a better look, he saw it was Sora, who just smiled and laughed at his defeat, causing Spyro to start laughing with him, tossing his Keyblade back to him, both dismissing their weapons and fist bumping, acknowledging the fun they had.
"Dude I didn't even have a chance to strike." Sora said laughing. "You are untouchable."
"Comes with the program." Spyro replied, pulling out a water bottle from his pouch and took a sip. "But why did you try sneaking up on me? Riku keeps trying and failing, but why you?"
"Wanted to get your attention." Sora replied. "Master Yen Sid wants to speak with you. Says it's important."
Spyro was curious why Master yen Sid would ask for him as he usually calls either Sora, Riku, or Kairi if there is something that needs to be done in t eh worlds, but him, that usually means he has something new for him to either study or needed done around the tower. He put the cap back on the bottle and returned it into the pouch, following Sora as he left the Sandlot. As they climbed the tower, Spyro looked to see if Riku or Kairi was anywhere in sight, but was no where to be seen. When they reached Master yen Sids study, the door was open and the pair walked in to see him sitting at his desk with a scroll and quill in front of him as he finished a message.
"Good morning Master Yen Sid." Spyro said, bowing to him.
"Good morning Spyro." Master Yen Sid replied.
He waived his hand and the scroll floated away from the desk and out the door to who knows where. Master Yen Sid then reached under his desk and produced a large bag of scrolls, tomes, and spell books and placed it on his desk and in front of Spyro, which he immediately knew he was gonna do some more studying.
"I have a task for you." Master Yen Sid said. "The time has come for you to inherit what is rightfully yours. The Princes Library."
He pushed the bag towards Spyro and it immediately glowed white and dark blue as if it sensed his presence while near it. He reached out and took the bag and instantly felt a rush of power go through him as images of previous princes flashed through his mind, their deeds of good and evil, their lives before becoming the prince, and them adding spells and enchantments to the library each time. When the images disappeared, he was sweating a bit and was breathing heavily like he was on a twenty mile jog and didn't stop until he had reached his goal. Without thinking, he put his right arm and his head through the opening in the strap and wore it like a travel bag.
"That bag holds the entire history and magical capabilities of previous princes before you." Master Yen Sid said. "Power beyond comprehension. Power that not even the Keyblade master of old knows of. Guard it well for if one with an evil heart gets their hands on them, it would doom all the worlds."
"Got it Master Yen Sid." Spyro said. "Is that all or is there something else?"
Master Yen Sid nodded his head, letting him know there was something else, and pulled out a piece of parchment and handed it to him. On it wwas a map of the worlds they have visited and coordinates that he never saw before, peaking his curiosity.
"At the edge of the worlds in our care, you will be traveling to this specific world." Master Yen Sid said. "There you shall continue your training and it is there that your true potential shall be revealed."
"Is this world being attacked by Heartless?" Spyro asked. "Or the Nobodies?"
"Neither." He replied. "There are many dangers there, but your training will be put to the test as this is where you shall understand your role as the Prince of Light and Darkness. I suggest you pack some supplies as the journey will be long and you will need to prepare yourself for whatever challenge may obstruct your path."
"Yes Master." Spyro replied, bowing. "Sora and I shall get everything we need and -"
Master Yen Sid raised his hand to silence Spyro before he could finish and lowered it when he was quiet.
"Sora will not be accompanying you this time." Master yen Sid said, surprising the teens. "This kind of training is specific only to you Spyro as it will test you and your limits. Sora, while a capable warrior, is needed here as he knows more about our enemy and must be ready to answer the call if they show up."
Sora raised his hands behind his head and smiled like it was no big deal to him, happy to hear that he was needed.
"Guess you got your first solo mission." Sora said. "Guess we can take the training wheels off of you now."
"Oh you wanna go little man?" Spyro retorted, putting Sora into a head lock and giving him a nuggie. "I'll show you who needs to take the training wheels off."
"Come on man, stop!" Sora shouted, laughing as he tried to get out of the head lock. "I was kidding man. I was kidding."
Master yen Sid couldn't help but smile at the childish behavior shared between the two teens as if they were long lost brothers. He clapped his hands, getting their attention and they separated and stood up straight like they were in the army.
"The friendship the two of you have is something to admire." Master Yen Sid said. "And I truly wish I could send you both as you work well together. But this is something you must do alone Spyro and it will be a challenge that will either make or break you. Good luck and safe travels."
Both the teens saluted Master Yen Sid and left the room together and once he was alone, he walked over to the mirror and uncovered it, seeing the white alicorn in the mirrors image and smiling.
"Good luck my friend." Master Yen Sid said to himself. You will needed it."
He turned to head to the mirror, but when he removed the cover, the princess was not there no knew she was probably taking care of her royal duties. He then returned to his desk and pulled out another parchment and his quill and wrote something on it.
"Dear Princess Celestia,
I apologize for not being at the mirror as I was talking to my pupils. I wish to inform you that I have given the prince the old map of the worlds and the coordinates to reach your world, however, the distance will make the journey a long one and may take weeks for him to reach your world. I have also given him the complete library of previous Princes of Light and Darkness, so he will be busy with studying the power within the books, but his remaining training now falls upon you and the entirety of Equestria as he still has much to learn about his new title. And who knows, he might make some new friends while he is there and might finally learn some of the most important lessons that previous princes never learned. As for the prince himself, he will not appear much as a warrior or a prince, but his power alone could rival that of any magic user and might even help your student as he has this unique charisma about him that can make even the most socially awkward person sociable. In advance, you are welcome and I'm sure he will prove to be a great ally against whatever kind of evil or predicament may befall your land.
With regards,
Master Yen Sid"
He rolled up the scroll and put his seal on it in wax, a sorcerers hat with crossing Keyblades in the background, and snapped his fingers, magically sending it to the princess. While in Equestria, the princess was was looking over some new documents that her advisors brought to her, looking over some financial issues and over preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration when a scroll appeared in a flash of light, startling her, but used her magic to acquire the scroll and opened it to read its contents. As she read it, she smiled and looked out the window.
"Captain Armor." Princess Celestia called, immediately a white unicorn pony in purple and gold armor walked over and saluted the princess. "A friend of mine is sending us his pupil to continue his training here in Equestria. I believe his pupil will be a great help to us."
"Yes your Majesty." He replied. "Shall I have the guard prepare for his arrival?"
"Yes Captain Armor." She replied. "However, his time of arrival is unknown, so make sure they are ready to greet anypony that carries a symbol that has a key on it."
The captain saluted the princess and turned to walk to let his guards know to expect a visitor in the coming weeks while the princess looked out the window and into the sky, eagerly expecting their newest prince to arrive.
Back at the Mysterious tower, at the hanger, Spyro loaded the last of the supplies he needed into his ship, which was in the shape of a dragon head with multiple cannons on its head and in its mouth and two large meteor lasers attached to the horns. though bulky, it was As the cargo bay doors closed, he turned around and saw Riku and Sora walking up to him with something in their arms.
"Thought you could leave without saying good bye?" Riku said, nudging Spyros shoulder. "Some friend you are."
"Well I tried to find you, but you weren't in the tower." Spyro retorted. "Plus, I needed to get everything ready so I can get to where I need to go."
"Well, consider this a going away gift." Riku said, tossing a box to him. "I think you might get more use out of them than I could."
Inside was an alchemy set and a synthesizer for when he needed to make some items if a Moogle wasn't around. He was surprised that Riku old get these things as they weren't exactly cheap or easy too get, but Sora walked up and gave him a bag and in it was many different pendants and medallions that he recognized as used for summoning some friends if the need arose.
"Why Sora?" Spyro asked. "Aren't these yours?"
"I got some of my friends to help me make some more." Sora responded. "You are a part of their lives as much as I am, so they are more than happy to come to your side if the need arises."
Spyro smiled at the answer, knowing that all his friends would be by his side no matter what. He put the box down and gave each of them a hug, sad to be leaving without them to join him, but happy that he will always have his friends by his side. After he broke off the hug, he looked to see if Kairi was with them, but didn't see her and before he could say anything, the engines on his ship started to warm up, letting him know it was time.
"I'll call you guys when I have arrived." Spyro said. "And I'll make sure to keep you in the know on what has happened."
"You better." Sora said. "Don't want to come over and interrupt your adventure because you needed to be saved."
"Yeah right." Spyro said. "And you need to work on telling Kairi how you feel. Otherwise I'll be the one asking her out."
Sora's face immediately went red with anger and embarrassment, wanting to yell at his friend for saying that, but realized that he was messing with him as both he and Riku were laughing hard.
"I hate you guys." Sora said, trying to cover up his face.
Laughing at Sora's embarrassment, Spyro got onto his ship and into the cockpit as the vessel lifted off and shot out of the planets atmosphere and into the dark recesses of space. he then took out the map that Master Yen Sid gave him and pulled up his computer. He tapped on the screen and multiple charts and images popped up of the ship and its status and of a map of the worlds all around.
"A.I.V.A. I need you to pull up the star map for me please." Spyro said.
"Affirmative sir." A woman's voice responded, pulling up the map of all the worlds.
Spyro punched in the coordinates of the new world that he was being sent to and set the ship to autopilot, zooming off towards the new world.
"Destination: Unknown." AIVA said. "Estimated time of arrival: 22 days, 13 hours, 49 minutes."
"Well, at least it will give me time to read the new books Master Yen Sid gave me." Spyro commented, pulling out his first tome.
Three weeks later
Spyro was in the training room he had installed into his ship, doing some pushups and various excursuses while wearing the gravity inducing armor to push his limits. As he did, he was reading the tome he started on and learned some of the various spells and enchantments that his predecessors used in combat and some of their effects. But there was one spell that caught his attention the most and looked through it profusely to make sure he got it down correctly. Before he could try it, an alarm range out on his phone, letting him know that it was time for him to return to the cockpit.
He picked up the tome and put his shirt and coat back on, heading straight for the cockpit to see where he was at. As he arrived, his seat turned to face him and he sat down, turning it back to the screens and controls in front.
"A.I.V.A., where are we at?" Spyro asked.
"We are nearing our destination." AIVA replied. "However, we have come across a nebula that has a star forming inside of it. Scans indicate that the gas in the nebula is highly volatile and will react negatively to Meteor Laser fire and is recommended not to use. It is also advised that we avoid going through the nebula to avoid damaging the ship."
"Acknowledged." Spyro said. "Are we still on course to reach our destination in the given time?"
"Affirmative." AIVA replied. "We are 23 hours and 32 minutes away from our destination and closing."
"Alright." Spyro said. "Keep course and -"
He was interrupted by a sudden blast to his right side of the ship, looking to see what hit him only to find the wing is damaged.
"WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!" AIVA announced. "Starboard side wing has been hit. Starboard side wing has been hit."
"What hit us!?" Spyro asked, returning his attention to the screens, only to see Heartless ships closing in on him. "Heartless. What are they doing all the way out here? This doesn't make any sense."
He swiped the screen on his computer a few times and pressed the button that activated the weapons and defense systems, powering everything from the laser cannons to the shield up and as he activated the weapons, the Heartless began swarming his ship, pelting him with laser fire.
"Shields at 72 percent and decreasing." AIVA announced.
"AIVA, power up the rear cannons and have them fire at any and all enemy signatures." Spyro ordered. "Leave nothing of them but scrap."
The cannons on top of the dragon head turned and multiple slots opened for more cannons to pop out, letting loose a barrage of laser fire, destroying multiple Heartless vessels before they could react. Spyro took the controls and took the ship off auto pilot, flying the ship himself. He did barrel rolls and twists and turns to throw his pursuers off while slowing down to let the Heartless vessels get in front and blast them with Meteor fire and Firaga cannon fire. He even used the Force to fly through some nearby asteroids to shake and destroy his pursuers as they followed him into the field, avoiding the asteroids like an ace pilot while the Heartless vessels were destroyed by the flying space rocks. But the more vessels he destroyed, the more that came out of no where to join in the fight.
"ALERT! ALERT! Shields at 21 percent." AIVA announced. "Advise an immediate retreat."
"But where!?" Spyro asked. "The Heartless are all around us, we can't jump away as the engines need time to charge, and even if they do charge, the shields will be gone and they will obliterate us! Where should we -"
He stopped his shouting as he looked at the nebula and got an idea. He swiped the screen again and began transferring power from the weapons to the shields and engines.
"AIVA, will going through the nebula get us to our destination quicker?" Spyro asked.
"Affirmative." AIVA answered. "However, I advise not pursuing this course of action as it will cause catastrophic damage to the vessel."
"I know." Spyro said. "And those Heartless ships don't have shields, but we do. Begin transferring power from all weapons except for the Meteor Lasers and rear cannons to the shield and the engines. We're going through that nebula."
Spyro turned his ship towards the nebula and flew the asteroid field, avoiding massive and medium sides asteroids while destroying smaller ones to get through them. As he exited the field of rocks, he checked his screens and found the shields power was increasing quickly as the power transfer was taking place. But at the same time, he looked at the radar and found dozens if not hundreds of hostile signatures flying after him.
"Guess they want me dead more than Sora." Spyro said. "AIVA, how is the power for the shields looking?"
"Shields are now at 89 percent and holding." AIVA responded. "Passage through the nebula is now advisable. However, I can comprehend keeping power to the rear cannons, but fail to understand why you want power to remain in the Meteor Lasers as they would only cause the gases in the nebula to erupt."
"That's the point." Spyro said. He tapped the screen a few times and brought up an image of the nebula, which was larger than he expected, but was undeterred. "The Heartless will try and pursue us in order to destroy this vessel. But what they don't know is that I plan on using a little tactic from Star Wars Rebels. Once we are out, I want you to target the nebula and fire some Meteor Lasers into the nebula to hit some of the Heartless still in there. Hopefully it will ignite the gas and destroy any and all heartless vessels that followed us in there."
"Confirmed." AIVA said. "Priming Meteors now. Estimated time of exit from the nebula: 20 minutes."
"A bit longer than I expected, but I don't have time to complain." Spyro said. "AIVA, you have the cannons. Blast every enemy vessel that gets too close. I'll make sure they don't hit us."
"Affirmative." AIVA responded.
As they passed into the nebula, AIVA activated the rear cannons and started firing at every vessel that was within range, taking down multiple vessels down while Spyro kept using different maneuvers that he learned from the Holocrons and from Sora and his friends to avoid being hit. He flew through giant clouds of dust and gas, finding it difficult to see much of anything and turned to his scanners, only to see static on the radar and barely able to see the hostile ships approaching as he only knew they were behind him because of the cannon fire going off behind his vessel.
"How many ships are behind us AIVA?" Spyro asked, hoping she would at least have an idea.
"Unknown." She replied. "Interference is caused by the nebula's density, making scans unreliable."
"Great." Spyro said. "That means that if my scans are screwed up, so are theirs. Gonna need to rely on my instincts for this."
As soon as he said it, he looked to the rear of the vessel to see if he can at least get a look at how many enemy vessels were behind him, only to see that all the ones who attacked him were following him through the nebula, catching him off guard. He then put more power to the engines and shot forward to avoid being shot at, but as he sped up, so did the enemy vessels and kept firing upon him, only to be shot at in exchange. As he flew, he saw the star that was forming, which was the same as what was back at home on Earth, which was a surprise to him, but he couldn't admire it as he was still being attacked and kept flying to the end of the nebula, which was coming up.
"ALERT! ALERT!" AIVA said. "Shields are now at 57 percent. Advise caution."
"Caution is out the window!" Spyro shouted. "Get ready to fire the Meteors!"
As soon as Spyro was out of the nebula, the reduced the power to the engines and spun the ship around to face the nebula, only to see hundreds of Heartless vessels coming out of the gas cloud, ready to swarm. But he wasn't going to let them as he looked at the screen and saw that the Meteor lasers were ready to fire and pushed the fire button, releasing multiple lasers towards the Heartless, which they dodged them, but they instead hit the gas cloud, causing a chain reaction that caused it to erupt in a wave of fire and chaos that passed over the Heartless vessels, destroying them.
"YES!" Spyro shouted, pleased as can be, but the eruption kept flying outward and realized what was gonna happen, his pupils shrinking to the size of pin needles. "Uh oh."
The wave of fire passed over his ship, causing it to be pushed backward into space as it spun in different directions, tossing him around like a rag doll as his ship got torn apart from the force of the impact and burned from the flames. As he was tossed around, hitting the walls and dome, he reached with the Force and pulled himself back to his seat and fought with the controls until he stabilized the vessel and leveled it out. He took a deep breath, calming down after what had happened and pulled up the diagnostic screen to see the extent of the damage, only to see the image of the ship flashing red on multiple sections all across it.
"AIVA, status update." Spyro said. "How bad is the damage?"
"D-d-d-damage if extensive." AIVa replied, stuttering as she too was damaged. "M-m-multiple fires a-a-a-across decks A through C. Power cores 1 and 2 d-d-d-damaged. Shields offline. W-w-w-weapons offline. Main thrusters o-o-o-o-offline. Secondary thrusters o-o-o-o-online. Hull damage at 67 percent. N-n-n-n-navigation online."
"At least we can still move." Spyro said. "How are the stabilizers?"
"D-d-d-damaged sir." AIVA responded. "F-f-f-f-further space maneuvers will cause c-c-c-catastrophic destruction to remaining s-s-s-s-stabilizers. Advise caution for the remainder of the journey."
"Well this is turning into a very lousy day." Spyro said. "How much further to our destination?"
"ETA: T-t-t-t-t-two hours and 21 minutes." AIVA responded. "R-r-recommend detaching the main e-e-e-e-engine to improve s-s-s-speed."
"Do it." Spyro ordered, immediately swiping the screen and pressing the button to detach the Holy-G engine.
After pressed the detach engine option, the engine detached and allowed to drift away before activating the secondary engines, flying off to his destination. As he looked at the map, he found that it will now take less than a hour with the dead weight gone and laid back in his seat, letting the ship return to autopilot for the remainder of the trip, he closed his eyes, relaxing after the fight. Before his eyes could open though, an alarm sounded, waking him up and letting him know that he has arrived at the world. What he saw was a world that looked similar to Earth, but with a large castle in a mountain side protruding high in the atmosphere than should be possible and the castle looked the same as the vision he saw nearly two years ago, amazed at how it looked.
"It's amazing." Spyro said. "But it looks like something from a little girls cartoon fantasy. Still, this is where I have been sent. AIVA begin -"
He didn't get to finish as he heard an explosion from his port side, left side of the ship, and looked to see a hole larger than a bus in the hull, flames emerging from it and spreading rapidly.
"ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!" AIVA announced. "Power core 5 has been destroyed! Cores 3 and 4 are overloading! Destruction imminent! Evacuation is ordered!"
"Just dump the cores and activate backup power!" Spyro shouted.
"Negative." AIVA replied. "Backup core has been destroyed. Jettison of cores is currently impossible."
"GAH!" Spyro shouted. "This day is getting better and better! Transfer my personal devices to the cockpit and prepare escape capsule!"
"Transfer has already been done." AIVA announced. "However, escape capsules are currently damaged. Usage of capsules is ill advised."
"Oh come on!" Spyro shouted. "Then put whatever power you have left into the thrusters. Get me into the planets atmosphere so I can open the dome and escape."
"Affirmative." AIVA responded.
A second later, the thrusters came on and flew straight towards the world's atmosphere, entering swiftly as the ship started to get torn apart after entering, causing pieces to fly off and burn up upon entering. Spyro got up from his seat and watched as they entered the clouds, feeling his body change, but summoning up the strength to leap to the glass dome and falling as far away as possible before the entire ship blew up, flinging him farther towards the ground as his body continued to change, his magic protecting him as he fell to the ground with a large thud.
It was the middle of the night as the stars were trickling, the moon was shining brightly, and everyone was getting ready for bed as the moon rose into the sky. But at one village called Ponyville, as the lights turned off as everyone went to bed, except for one. There was one filly in a farmhouse, with fields upon fields full of apple trees, was watching a surprise meteor shower in the night sky, marveling at its beauty.
"Apple Bloom, why are yah still awake?" An orange earth pony with a blonde mane and tail with a cowboy hat said. "It's time for bed."
"But Applejack, ah'm not tired." Apple Bloom, a yellow earth pony filly, with bright red mane and tail with a pink bow replied. "And it's the weekend. Ah want to watch the meteor shower."
"Ya'll got chores in the mornin' little missy." Applejack responded, picking her sister up by her mane. "It's time for bed."
"But ah'm not a baby anymore!" She responded in a huff. "Ah can stay up as much as Ah wants to."
Applejack shook her head, clearly irritated by her little sister's defiance, she planted her sister in her bed and began tucking her in as she pouted.
"Once ya'll are done with yer chores, you can play." She said, smiling. "But fer now, sleep. It's gonna be a long and hard day tomorrow."
She started to leave Apple Blooms room, turning the lights off and looking back at her sister, only to see her sit up and run out of the bed, back to the window. She sighed in frustration and walked over to pick her back up and put her back to bed, but looked up and saw a falling star heading straight for the orchard.
"OOH, OOH, that one is heading for the orchard!" Apple Bloom said excitedly. "Make a wish Applejack."
"What ah wish for you to go to bed." Applejack said, watched the falling star disappear behind the clouds. "Besides, if not healthy for-"
She didn't get to finish her sentence as a sudden shockwave pass over them and the orchard followed by an explosion that shook the land itself. Instinctively, Applejack pulled her little sister down and covered her with her body to protect her from any flying debris that might follow. When nothing passed, Applejack looked out the window and saw the falling star again, but it was smaller and was heading for the orchards northern section, landing with a flash of white light. Apple Bloom managed to wrestle her way out of Applejacks grip and looked out the window, wondering what had happened.
"What was that noise?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Stay here sugarcube!" Applejack said, running out of her room.
She ran to the front door of the house and saw her big brother, Big Mac, a large red earth pony stallion with a short orange mane and tail wearing a truss, was already outside with Granny Smith, a very old, green earth pony mare with a white mane tied up in a bun, looking out into the orchard in the direction of the crash.
"What in tarnation was that?" Applejack asked. "Did that falling star just land in the middle of the orchard?"
"Yup." Big Mac answered.
"Then let's go find it!" Apple Bloom said, appearing behind them.
"No Apple Bloom, ya'll are staying here." Applejack replied. "Mac and ah will check in out."
"But ah wanna see the fallen star!" Apple Bloom said, pouting. "It's not fair!"
"It could be dangerous and ah don't want ya to get hurt." Applejack replied. "Granny Smith, can ya keep her out a trouble until we get back."
"Sure thing little Apple fritter." Granny Smith replied.
Brother and sister both left the front porch and walked into the orchard where the crash was, but as they approached, they noticed something strange about the ground as Amethysts were scattered across the ground and was emitting a kind of light that seemed calming, yet made her feel uneasy. She looked over to her brother and could sense that he was also feeling a little uneasy, but didn't want to show it and put on a brave poker face, but Applejack wasn't fooled. As they neared the site where the star fell, they saw a whole field of Amethyst that stuck up from the ground like plants and covered the everything three feet away from the source.
"Now that's a lot of gems." Applejack said, smiling. "I think I know a certain somepony who'd be happy to have these jewels."
"Yup." Big Mac said, smiling as he knew who she was talking about.
They both approached the site and saw that a dome made of Amethyst was covering up the hole in the ground, blocking anyone from getting in. But Applejack managed to stretch her neck far enough just to see over the edge, showing that the dome was pulsing with magic, but saw a silhouette of what looked like a pony, but could barely see what kind he was.
"Somepony is in there!" Applejack said, worried for their safety. She stepped back and turned her flank to the crystal dome, reared her hind legs and kicked with all her might, shattering the dome, but releasing a pillar of light into the air that was so bright that it could blind them if they didn't look away.
When the light died down, the siblings looked down and were shocked to see what was in the crater. In it was what looked like a pony, but he had dragon wings with orange dragon like horns, his tail was of a dragon with a small fin in the shape of a small fire, his hooves were hoof like, that she was releaved to see, was wearing a torn purple jacket with his purple scales with two dragon shaped shoulder guards that seemed undamaged, a bag that looked unfamiliar to her, arm guards made of gold and black metal and his cutie mark was in the shape of a key that had the appearance of a dragon. Both of the siblings were shocked to see a sight like that, but knew he needed help.
Applejack was the first to go down and have a look at the unusual pony to see if he was badly injured. As she got close, she saw that he was pretty much unharmed, except for the bump on his head. She scooped him up, finding him to be rather light, onto his back and returned to Big Mac, who was a little nervous around the unusual pony.
"We better get him back to the house." Applejack said. "He seems to be ok, but ah wanna talk to whoever this feller is."
"Yup." Big Mac said, agreeing with her.
The two siblings walked back to the house, looking at the crystals around them, only to watch as the light in them faded and turned to dust as soon as they exited the orchard. Disappointed that the crystals were gone, they hurried back to the house and went inside, finding Granny Smith asleep in her rocking chair, while Apple Bloom was sitting in the couch waiting for them. When she saw them enter the house, her eyes widened at seeing the unusual pony on her big sister's back, peaking her curiosity.
"Wow!" She exclaimed excitedly. "Who is he?! Where'd he come from!? What is he!?"
"Apple Bloom, calm down." Applejack said, heading to the stairs. "Ah don't who or what he is, but all ah know is that he's hurt and needs rest."
She walked up the stairs, with her brother and sister close behind, and went to the guest room, setting him down onto the bed, removing his bag and jacket and placing both onto the empty chair, leaving quietly.
"We'll talk to him in the mornin'" Applejack said. "For now, get some sleep everypony. That's enough excitement for one night."
The siblings went into their independent rooms, all their minds full of questions, but for Applejack, she was wondering more about how he ended up in the orchard and what was with the crystals and that beam of light when she kicked the crystal dome.
