Chapter 42

When she was just a girl. She expected the world.

It ran away from her reach.

Lucas asked for Nathan. Peyton. And Rachel to be removed and no longer allowed to be anywhere near the hospital room after this.

"You see what Lucas Scott did to me!" Nathan exclaimed. As he made his way out of the hospital. Following behind Rachel and Peyton.

Lucas had Tegan brought in from the nursery.

"Are you okay?" "I've been here. Sleeping on that chair."

"Living out of my suitcase."

"I feel better then expected. I've been away long enough."

"I just want to make up for that." Brooke replied.

"3 weeks. I was waiting. And not sure what was going to happen to you. If i was going to hear you're voice and look in you're eyes again."

"I was in a nightmare and nothing i said or did was changing it."

"I haven't been myself since this happened."

"If it wasn't for our kids i would of lost my mind." Lucas admitted.

"I wake up and i see you attacking Nathan."

"I hate Nathan. Peyton. Rachel."

"How am i supposed to feel safe with you after this?"

"I didn't recognize you. And i finally found a way through what happened with Nathan."

"Now i'm scared. I'm confused. You have always made my heart overflow with love and peace. But i don't feel that way right now. Do i even know you at all?" Brooke proclaimed.

The expression on Lucas's face softened. Its as if she had punched him in the chest.

"I shouldn't of reacted that way. I know. But something inside me snapped seeing them standing there."

"Especially Nathan. I wanted to put his head through the wall. To make the life drain out of his eyes after what he did to you."

"But i didn't and that is only because of you and our kids."

"Yes you know me. Better then anyone in the world." Lucas stated matter of fact.

It was then that Tegan started to cry.

Brooke picked her up and began to soothe her.

The infant soon got quiet and was staring at her mom.

"I love you so much. My beautiful girl." Brooke said.

Brooke went home 2 weeks later. The doctors ran tests and observed her wanting to make sure she was truly on the way to healing.

Tegan was officially 5 weeks old at this point. And no one was more excited to see Brooke and Tegan then Emmet and Axel.
