The Scott beach house was sacred space. So many special moments took place here. Being able to experience it with their children now was more special and meaningful then Lucas could find the words for.
"The boys made sandcastles. Got in the water."
"Had so much fun. I have to clean off this sand its everywhere."
"I made lunch for all of us."
"Why didn't you come out?" Lucas asked. When he entered the bedroom.
Brooke closed her laptop.
"I think the drive over was too much for Tegan. i only had recently got her down. And came in here for some time to myself." She replied.
"We can bring one of the baby monitors into the kitchen."
"You need some down time and to sleep."
"I know after lunch Axel and Emmet are going straight to a nap."
"I shouldn't be long." Lucas said. As he took off his shirt and grabbed a towel. Before heading into the bathroom.
Brooke heard the water turn on and grabbed one of the baby monitors.
She was just about to leave the bedroom when she heard notifications bring Lucas's cellphone alive.
It was on his side of the bed on the end table.
As if he was listening. He re appeared wrapped in a towel and out the phone to charge.
He scanned the phone before answering a call.
"I saw the ranking. Book number 3. A huge success."
"Work talk has to wait. I'm at the beach house with Brooke and the kids."
"They are growing up way too fast for me."
"Brooke is holding our family together with ease." Lucas said.
As Brooke quietly left the room.
They had two weeks to make memories here as a family before returning home.
