Whatever happens. I'm right here. I belong here.
After a meal of mashed potatoes. Meatloaf. Peas and carrots. One by one the Scott children settled in for the night.
First Tegan. Emmet then Axel. All tucked in soundly by their parents.
Which left the couple alone to have time together without interuption.
"How long do you think you'll be gone for.?" Brooke questioned. When they got to their bedroom.
Lucas gazed over the schedule on his phone.
"A couple weeks. I'll be in communication as much as i can." Lucas replied.
"My mom offered to keep Tegan while i'm away."
"I think she would is too young for a trip like this. She always welcomes time with the boys. Keith too."
"But i thought. You could come and see me for a few days. There could be time for the two of us."
"I know we've been so wrapped in being parents. Along with work these past couple months."
"Sleeping apart from you only ensures that i get no sleep."
"And maybe we can have some time for just the two of us."
"I won't be working all the time."
"I think we could use some privacy." Lucas said.
Scooping her in his arms.
"For what exactly? I mean we can play board games and watch reality tv anytime." Brooke teased.
Lucas leaned over and whispered in her ear.
Brooke felt her face grow hot and turn red.

Glenda re appeared from upstairs and didn't expect to see Marvin still there.
"Why would i leave?" Marvin asked.
"Because in my many experiences. Once i mention i have a kid."
"The guy is running away so fast and i end stuck paying for dinner."
"So i didn't expect it." Glenda admitted.
"Well i'm not exactly like most guys. Are you okay with me asking questions?" Marvin asked.
"Yeah why not." She replied.
"Boy or girl?" He asked.
"I have a daughter. She's 7."
"And let's put it this way. My friends kept my secret. Helped me through the pregnancy. Brooke is her god mother."
"Regarding her father. I didn't want him involved. He doesn't know she exist and i want to keep it that way." Glenda explained.
Secretly Marvin wanted to know who this guy was yet he knew for her to go to these lengths means. It isn't his business.
