It wasn't until they were back from the beach house and Tegan was at daycare. Did Lucal call Brooke to inform her that she couldn't come along with him.
And Brooke barely reacted on the phone. But she did show up at the office. Which caught Lucas off guard until he was told she was on her lunch break.
"Why did you suggest me join you just to turn me down later?" Brooke questioned. Closing the door behind herself.
"I don't have control over this. I explained what i wanted to do and it was shut down. I was told this is about work and having distractions isn't going to happen." Lucas explained.
"Can you not go.?" Brooke questioned.
"No that wouldn't look good. This is apart of my job."
"It'll be a few weeks and you won't miss me. You will probably be enjoying having it all to yourself for a awhile." Lucas proclaimed.
Brooke sighed deeply. "I guess. You'll stay in touch right?" She questioned.
"Of course." Lucas said.
Brooke left the office. Feeling alot more sad and disappointed then she expected. But this was what he worked so hard for.
She wasn't going to throw a fit or make demands.

Days Later
"I marked off the calenders in both you're rooms."
"I know it seems like a long time but i'll be back before you know it." Lucas explained to the boys.
" . I don't like this!" Emmet exclaimed.
"Take us with you daddy please. We'll be behave." Axel pleaded.
"I can't Ax. I would bring the two of you if i could. This is a work trip." Lucas explained.
"Now the both of you come say goodbye to me." Lucas insisted.
Emmet started to cry and ran out of the living room.
Axel refused. "No. Leave me alone." He replied. Before leaving the lliving room. In a huff.
Brooke held Tegan. She moved all over.
When Brooke handed her to her dad. She smiled happily.
"My girl. You be good for momma. You keep her company will daddy is gone. I love you." Lucas said.
Tegan touched his face as he kissed her.
Lucas watched as Brooke placed Tegan in the nearby baby swing.
She had her arms wrapped around herself.
"I should check in on the boys." Brooke said. She hadn't wanted to say goodbye. She was more angry and upset about this situation then she appeared.
She simply watched as he left quietly.
