Chapter 3

It is a day after the asteroid touched down. The tide had risen and it hadn't gone down. Now this wasn't a problem for G, who could breathe underwater just fine, but it was . . . annoying. It had started to like walking on dry land.

G decided to leave its home without dwelling on its bitterness any longer. It was about time it Fed anyway.

With a swish of its paddle-like tail, it would zoom out of the cave, and into the now oceanic parts of this land. Noting how it was much faster in the water than on land, it swam off to a different part of this area to find a radiation vent.

Eventually, G came across a vent. A different one from last time, but a bigger one. One steaming with radioactive fumes.

G Swam over the vent and opened its mouth. Taking in the radiation and storing it within its body, as well as subconsciously allocating it to different parts of it's body. It's arms, it's legs, it's tail, it's eyes, it's internal organs. Slowly but surely empowering and growing everything. Quite the marvel this big guy was.

It would get about 30 minutes of uninterrupted feeding before something, well- interrupted it.

Its cat-like ears would raise as it heard a sound. An aquatic 'whoosh' of sorts. Causing it to close its mouth and turn. Now G may have just got here, but it has enough cognizance to know that rocks don't move from side to side. Or- away from you.

So its second thought was logically to try and find what It heard.

Swimming away from the radioactive vent g would begin to search the area. Swimming over rocks and jagged underwater stalagmites. Scanning the area with powerful eyes.

After a bit of nothing, G decided to go back to the vent. Maybe it was just its early stages of imagination.

As it turned back to the vent, it stopped mid-tail stroke and floated.

There was something AT the vent.

G of course, being the curious early newt that it was cocked its head and slowly swam around the area of the new creature. Trying to get a better look at it from a distance.

It LOOKED like some sort of primordial serpent, or what might evolve into one. It had a body, a paddle tail like G did, and two large flippers on each side of its body. And it had a serpentine neck and head. A long forked tongue flicked out of its mouth to taste the radiation coming up from the vent. It was covered entirely in silver-colored skin and a leather-like hide. Its underside is a lighter shade than its upper half.

It honestly looked like a weird plesiosaur with no back flippers, but those weren't around yet.

It was also noticeably big. Anywhere from 15-20 meters long. A somewhat comparable size to our newt.

Speaking of the newt, it was slowly approaching the new creature making sure not to disturb it.

Unfortunately, G was trying to sneak up from the front and from across the gap of the vent. So the new creature easily looked up, saw G, and let out a muffled underwater screech, immediately reeling back and swimming away from the massive underwater thing that just appeared in front of it.

G was understandably confused, and a little bit offended. But it didn't let that deter its curiosity.

It would swim after the speedy long-necked creature at a moderate pace. Its top speed wasn't TOO fast for the amphibian so it mostly just kept up enough to see where it was going.

Eventually, the primordial sea serpent seemed to have successfully evaded G, as it was looking around in an upright floating position. It carefully scoured the area to try and find the other living thing, when it saw a long neck poke out of a cave nearly 30 meters wide in diameter and look around.

G didn't move from its spot for a few moments but then decided now was its chance to get an even better look at this thing. It would start after the cave with a flick of its tail and immediately alert the long neck. Causing it to zip back into its cave and out of G's sight.

When G got to the cave entrance, it could see the new being cowering inside of the cave. It wasn't exactly a stretch to barge into the cave to get a view up close, but in a primordial display of cautiousness, and perhaps manners, G would simply float outside of the cave and stare.

This cycle of staring and cowering between the two creatures continued for a solid 5 minutes before the creature in the cave began to move. Ever so slightly. Slowly moving its head towards the entrance. G wouldn't move, however, just watching as the snake-like head of this new creature slowly drew closer.

And then the little fucker bit it.

The long-necked sea creature would latch onto the amphibian's nose, and G would quickly find out that this thing had teeth. Pointy teeth. That dug into its scales and HURT it.

G would be shaking and thrashing its head, mouth open in a silent growl. Or yell. But the sea snake did not let go.

Eventually, however, G would move in a violent thrash and throw the Creature off it. Still shaking rubbing its nose with short skinny little arms. The snake, seeing this as an opportunity, turned and began swimming away from G.

By the time G stopped rubbing its sore nose the Sea serpent was nowhere to be found. G tried to scan the area but had no luck.

With an undignified huff of bubbles, the lizard turned and swam away. Suddenly no longer wanted anything to do with the primordial plesiosaur.

Asshole.
