Chapter 8: Back to Earth
The next day, the teens were in the Red Fountain courtyard, getting ready to go back to Earth.
The Specialists were dressed in casual clothes, instead of their uniforms.
"I'd do a simple transport spell," Bloom said. "But a group this size would take more Winx than I have."
"So, I'll use a portal spell to take us to Earth," Tecna said. "This time I know the correct one." (Author's note: To find out what Tecna's talking about, read my first story, "The Dark Reign of Queen Rita")
"And there's one more coming with you," Someone said.
A tan-skinned teenager around the same age as the Specialists was walking toward them. He was wearing a purple tunic with yellow stripes, purple pants, and white shoes. He was carrying a gold staff with a purple jewel on top.
"Nabu!" Layla exclaimed, running to him.
"Layla's boyfriend," Stella said.
"Where have you been?" Layla asked Nabu.
"I had some business to attend to on Andros," Nabu explained. "I just got back a few minutes ago. Headmaster Saladin told me what's been going on and asked me to go to Earth with you."
"We can use all the help we can get," Tommy said.
"Greetings, Nabu," Zordon's voice came over the communicators. "I am Zordon, mentor to the Power Rangers."
Tecna quickly used a copy spell to give Nabu a communicator.
"Layla has told me much about you, Zordon," Nabu replied.
"Headmaster Saladin has told me that you will be helping to protect Bloom," Zordon said.
"You know Headmaster Saladin too?" Brandon asked.
"Yes, Brandon," Zordon replied. "But that is a story for another day."
A Power Coin appeared in Nabu's hand.
"Take this Power Coin," Zordon said. "As well as giving you armor, like the Specialists, it will also increase the magical capabilities of your staff."
"Thank you, Zordon," Nabu said, pocketing his Power Coin.
"Before we go," Stella said. "Nabu, your tunic would stand out on Earth. But, I have the perfect solution."
She used magic to transform Nabu's tunic into a purple t-shirt with a yellow stripe down the middle of the front.
"Alright then," Tecna said. "If everyone's ready, let's go."
She cast the portal spell and a swirling, green vortex appeared. The teens stepped through and emerged in a deserted alley in Gardenia.
"I need to visit my adoptive parents while we're here," Bloom said. "They need to know what's going on."
"Wouldn't that just worry them?" Trini asked.
"Maybe," Bloom replied. "But my adoptive parents raised me. They deserve to know"
It was a short walk from where they were to Bloom's adoptive parents' (Mike and Vanessa) house. Bloom knocked on the door.
"Bloom!" Vanessa exclaimed, when she opened the door and saw her adopted daughter.
She hugged Bloom, then kissed her on the forehead.
"Come in everyone," Vanessa said, when she noticed the other teens standing behind Bloom.
"You've got quite the entourage with you, Bloom," Mike said, chuckling.
Everyone settled into the living room (some had to stand up) then, the three teams took turns filling Mike and Vanessa in on everything that had happened up to that point.
"So, Tommy thought that if we came to Earth, it might confuse Zedd," Bloom finished.
"Just be careful, Bloom," Vanessa said.
"I'll be fine, Mom," Bloom said. "As long as my friends continue to stick with me"
"You can count on the Winx Club," Stella said.
"And the Specialists," Sky added.
"And the Power Rangers," Tommy finished, pulling out his morpher to show Mike and Vanessa.
Although the five teens had visited Bloom's adoptive parents last year, they had never revealed their identity as Power Rangers.
As the Power Rangers, we're symbols of hope, Tommy thought. And, right now, Mike and Vanessa need a lot of hope.
"With all of you protecting her, Bloom should be fine," Mike said, trying to reassure his wife.
"You kids have a place to stay?" Vanessa asked.
"We'll get some rooms at the Angel Grove Motel," Tommy replied.
"Nonsense," Vanessa said. "You can just stay here."
"Mom, I know you're being polite," Bloom said. "But, unless you and Dad have done some major renovations, there is not enough space in this house for eighteen teenagers to sleep."
"Well, at least Bloom can stay," Vanessa said.
"I wish I could, Mom," Bloom said. "But, if I stay here, I'll be putting you and Dad in danger. Besides, I have full confidence in my friends."
"I love you Bloom," Vanessa said, tears filling her eyes. "And I don't want to lose you."
"I love you too, Mom," Bloom said, tears also filling her eyes. "And you won't."
Mother and adopted daughter said goodbye, then everyone else said their goodbyes and they left.
"Tommy," Jason said, once they were outside. "Why did you reveal to Mike and Vanessa that we're Power Rangers?"
"Hope," was all Tommy said, and everyone knew what he meant.
They walked to the bus stop to catch the bus to Angel Grove. All of a sudden, a beam of dark energy came from above them and destroyed the bus stop. They then heard evil laughter and saw the Trix descending from the sky.
"That was just a 'hello, losers' blast," Darcy said. "The next one's for real."
"The Trix!" Musa said, through gritted teeth.
"Impossible!" Zack said. "Miss Faragonda said they were still in prison."
"It's amazing what a magic copy spell will do for you," Icy said.
"You won't get the Dragon Flame or the Power Dragon again," Bloom said. (Author's note: To find out about the Power Dragon, read my last story "Legend of the Power Dragon")
Winx Club: "Let's go Enchantix!"
Tommy: "It's morphin time!"
Sky: "Specialists power up!"
Tommy: "Tigerzord!"
"Bloom: Fairy of the Dragon Flame!"
Zack: "Mastodon!"
"Musa: Fairy of Music!"
Kimberly: "Pterodactyl!"
"Flora: Fairy of Nature!"
Billy: "Triceratops!"
"Tecna: Fairy of Technology!"
Trini: "Saber-Toothed Tiger!"
"Stella: Fairy of the Shining Sun!"
Jason: "Tyrannosaurus!"
"Layla: Fairy of Waves!"
"This armor is amazing!" Nabu said. "And I can feel the magic emanating from my staff."
Nabu's armor was purple with a yellow stripe on the helmet, arms, legs, and torso. The crystal on his staff was glowing.
"Love the new look, Tommy," Icy said. "Can't wait to destroy you in it!"
"Let's remind these witches what the Power Rangers can do!" Tommy said.
"We'll never forget what you rangers did to us!" Icy said, shooting a stream of ice at the White Ranger.
Tommy easily dove to the side to avoid it.
"You're getting slow, Icy," Tommy taunted.
"Tommy, look out!" Stella said.
Darcy was behind Tommy and shot a beam of dark energy at him. Stella flew over and shielded him with light energy. Nabu fired a magic energy beam out of his staff. It hit Darcy, stunning her.
Meanwhile, Zack was facing off against Stormy. The witch simmoned a tornado, sending it toward the Black Ranger.
"I've got this!" Flora said. "Nature's Reversal!"
The tornado went back toward Stormy. The witch was caught off guard as the twister pulled her in. Timmy fired a few shots, knocking her out of the tornado. Stormy hit her head on a nearby building, then slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Icy was trying to hold her own against the rest of the teens, hovering in the air above them. Kimberly fired an arrow at Icy, but she froze it. The projectile fell harmlessly to the ground. Riven jumped at her with his Phantoblade. Icy fired several ice projectiles, knocking the Specialist to the ground mid-jump. Bloom managed to hit Icy with a stream of fire, knocking her to the ground. She looked around and saw her sisters defeated.
"Cold Awakening!" she said.
A cold wind blew past Darcy and Stormy waking them up.
"Let's go, sisters," Icy said. "We've got what we came for."
"You witches aren't getting away that easily," Tommy said.
"I think you have bigger problems to deal with," Icy said.
She threw down what looked like a toy robot. The Trix blasted it with magic, and it grew into a giant robot. Its right hand was a sword and its left hand was a giant laser cannon.
"Have fun with Devastator," Icy said.
Then the Trix flew away.
Power Rangers: "We need Thunderzord power now!"
Tommy and Saba: "Summon Tigerzord!"
Winx Club: "We need Enchantixzord power now!"
Power Rangers: "Thunder Megazord, power up!"
Tommy and Saba: "Tigerzord, convert to Warrior Mode!"
Winx Club: "Zords combine! Enchantix Megazord, ready!"
Devastator ran at them and slashed the Thunder Megazord.
"Let's use the Thunder Saber," Jason said.
The Thunder Megazord and Devastator engaged each other in a flurry of sword attacks, blocks, and parries. Eventually the two combatants locked swords, and Devastator shot the Thunder Megazord wirh his cannon.
The Enchantix Megazord flew toward Devastator from above. The robot saw it and shot the megazord out of the sky.
The Tigerzord fired several laser bolts at Devastator, but the attack didn't even fase him. He ran toward the Tigerzord and delivered multiple slashes in quick succession. The zord fell to the ground.
"This guy is really starting to tick me off!" Musa said.
"How can we defeat a monster we can't hurt?" Zack said.
"Rangers, Winx Club," Zordon said "Combine all your zords together to form the Enchantix Thunder Ultrazord."
"You guys ready?" Tommy said.
"Oh, yeah!" Jason said.
"Let's do it!" Bloom said.
All: "Zords combine!"
All the zords combined to form a massive ultrazord. It had the wings of the Dragon Flame Enchantixzord. The head of the zord became the ultrazord's right hand. The head of the Red Dragon Thunderzord became the ultrazord's left hand. The Tigerzord's head attached to the ultrazord's chest.
All: "Enchantix Thunder Ultrazord, ready!"
"Let's see what this thing can do!" Tommy said.
Devastator saw the ultrazord and started blasting it with his cannon, but the ultrazord just walked towards him, undamaged. The monster stumbled backwards in surprise. The ultrazord used the two dragon heads it had for hands to chomp Devastator's weapons off.
"Let's finish him off," Tommy said.
All: "Convergence Triple Beam: final strike!"
A rainbow colored energy beam fired from the two dragon heads and the Tigerzord head. All three beams hit Devastator, destroying the monster.
Later, the teens were gathered in the Command Center, discussing this new development. Miss Faragonda was contacted via a communication spell.
"Very cunning of the Trix to cover their escape using magical copies," Miss Faragonda said.
"At least now we know how Zedd keeps finding me," Bloom said.
"How?" Billy asked.
"During Bloom's first year at Alfea," Tecna explained. "The Trix used the Whisperian Crystals to track the Dragon Flame."
"And the Whisperian Crystals were never destroyed," Musa finished.
"Now where is Bloom going to hide?" Zack said.
"How about here, in the Command Center?" Sky said.
"That is an excellent idea, Sky," Zordon said. "Even if Zedd were to find Bloom here, he would not be able to enter without a Power Coin. Alpha, prepare a room for our guest."
"Right away, Zordon," Alpha replied.
"Thanks, Zordon," Bloom said. "I feel much safer here."
"We need to head to the Angel Grove Motel and check-in," Sky said.
"No kidding," Stella said. "I really need my beauty sleep."
"And we need to head home before our parents worry," Jason said.
"See you tomorrow, Bloom," Kimberly said, before the rangers teleported away.
"You'll be safe here, Bloom," Sky said, then he and the other Specialists left.
"When this is over, Bloom, we're going shopping," Stella said. "See you tomorrow, girl." Then she and the rest of the Winx Club left.
Back at Zedd's base, he was furious with the Trix.
"You gave up way too easily during that fight!" he said. "I thought you could fight better than that! Now, Bloom is in the one place I cannot enter!"
"Relax, Zedd," Icy said. "We didn't attack them to win."
"First, it's Lord Zedd. Second, why in name of all that is evil would you attack them if not to win!?" Zedd's anger was growing.
"We wanted the rangers to hide Bloom in the Command Center," Icy replied calmly.
"I've just explained that I cannot enter the Command Center," Zedd shouted. By now he was so angry he was glowing red. "Now how am I supposed to get the Dragon Flame?!"
Icy opened her hand (which had been clenched closed) to reveal five Power Coins.
"What!?" Zedd said, surprised. "Where did you get those?"
"When the rangers morphed, we made magical copies of some of their Power Coins," Icy said. "We can't morph with them, but they should work as keys."
"Perhaps you have a shred of intelligence after all," Zedd said. "With these Power Coins, you three, Goldar, and I will enter the Command Center, take the Dragon Flame, destroy the rangers, then Earth will be mine!"
Zedd's evil laughter echoed throughout his base.
