Too Ikeptmyword: Yes, this first arc, which I am going to call the academy, is based on the classroom of the elite since I really enjoyed the show and I thought I could put a unique twist by integrating it into the Naruto universe, and once Naruto graduates the academy, the story will change. And thank you for the review! (Minor grammar and spelling fixes Feb 15th 2024)

Chapter 4: The Opening

Naruto sat down at his desk and looked at the chalkboard. He noticed that the class ranks had changed; they were now in third out of five classes. He smiled internally; he was having an effect on his class. But they were not at their full potential, at least not without Shikamaru Nara, the boy who was the smartest in the class aside from Naruto himself. "Alright everyone!" Iruka began, "Today will be the first day of survival training; we will teach you the basics of survival, and tomorrow we will have a field trip with the other classes; whichever class manages to survive the longest will be promoted, and if the top class wins, then the ranks don't change, and the rules will be explained once we are at the camp.

"Everyone, we have to win this thing!" Kiba shouted. The class cheered. "We would have to have a plan," Ino stated. "Well, I was thinking we could just survive for as long as possible; maybe find a nice spot," Ino said, imagining a beach paradise. "Are you forgetting that there will be other classes? Trying to take the same spots, if anything, we will have to fight to get our way. If anything, we should always be attacking other classes and stealing resources to supply us." Sasuke explained

This is a great opportunity to find out about the other classes Naruto thought of for himself. Up until now, the class hasn't interacted at all. He could find their weaknesses, exploit them, and win class rank one without lifting a finger.

Sai's POV

Sai knew something was about to go very wrong. His class was ranked due to him and Neji Hyuga taking leadership over the other students. While Sai was more forgiving and let people be for free, Hyuga ruled like a dictator; he was blunt, filled with anger, and wasn't afraid to both verbally and physically assault someone if they slowed down the class.

Sai was surprised by one person, and that person was Naruto Uzumaki. He knew Naruto well, or at least he thought he did. That boy was more unpredictable than the weather; one day it would be clear and sunny, but the next minute it was downpouring and thundering. But he had been surprised when Naruto's class had not immediately been placed at number one. He guessed it was because Naruto was trying to keep himself hidden for whatever reason.

He sighed. He knew it was impossible to win if Naruto started to show his true colors. The boy was a genius in every way; he left slight jealousy of the blonde. But he had also heard rumors of another prodigy by the name of Sasuke Uchiha carrying his class, but when Neji heard the news, he was furious and determined to "destroy the Uchiha and his weak clan forever." He sighed at Neji's antics; he was perpetuating anger, and the one time he had seen the boy calm was when the class rankings were announced and they were number one.

Sai was wary now; Naruto was careful, and if he wasn't prepared, Naruto would destroy their class to bits, even though he had noticed weaknesses in his class, from Neji's constant fury to their lack of ninjutsu capabilities, and they are dual power structures.

Sai sat down and watched Neji yell at someone for getting a below-average grade on an assignment.

Naruto prepared his tools, kunai, shuriken, and an extra pair of clothes. He put on his white sweater and sweatpants before heading to the academy. He arrived at the doors, and his class was already outside, preparing to leave.

They had been walking for what seemed like hours, and his class began to complain and argue amongst themselves over what strategy they should use. Sasuke said they should split up and use hit-and-run tactics, while Ino wanted to follow a more traditional strategy and Kiba wanted to attack a team.

After another hour, they arrived at the camp. "Alright everyone, now I will explain the rules," Iruka announced. The class began to form up and listen intently to Iruka. "If my class wants to leave, then the vote must be unanimous, which means that everyone has to agree. Number two: If any major injuries occur, then chunin instructors will be there for support. Number three: now violence between classes may occur. We ask that you do not use lethal weapons or force, and no killing shall occur. Number four: If this test goes on for more than two months, we will have a deathmatch in the area you are permitted to travel in, which will decrease severely."

Iruka said, looking serious. "Now that it is open, I wish you good luck," he said before leaving.

Naruto sighed and watched as Sasuke Ino and Kiba bickered, but after their class sat idle for 10 minutes, Sasuke won the argument. Naruto was surprised. Ino and Kiba were stubborn; they would be hard to convince, but Sasuke had done it. "Now everyone, we will split into teams of three, and our goal will be to attack the other teams, gather intelligence, and steal supplies. Meet here at dawn." Sasuke ordered. Naruto looked around to see whose team he could join but was interrupted.

"Hey Naruto," Shikamaru called to the blonde. Naruto turned around. "Would you like to join our group?" Shikamaru asked lazily. Naruto nodded. "Sasuke," Naruto said in a monotone voice, and Uchiha turned around and nodded before joining them.

They had been jumping tree to tree, trying to find another team to raid. Naruto, from the corner of his eye, saw something. "Look over there," Naruto said, stopping and looking in the direction.

"It's an enemy team." He said

Sasuke carefully looked around at the scene before them; they seemed to be setting up a camp. It would be risky to attack in broad daylight. He thought to himself, continuing to look around at the other children, setting up tents, and preparing fire, but his thoughts were interrupted: "WATCH OUT, HINATA!" The shout came from Kiba, about half a kilometer away. Naruto immediately jumped along with Sasuke and Shikamaru.

Kiba lay on the grass; he couldn't feel his limbs, let alone them. He had tried to fight that dam Hyuga but failed; the bastard was too fast and dodged his punches before knocking out Choji and now going after Hinata, along with that weird pale kid.

Sasuke was the first to attack from the trees. He dropped his leg, dropped down, and kicked whoever was in his path. The pale kid dodged his kick before moving back. Sasuke immediately attacked using taijutsu, while Neji was tormenting Hinata. "Pathetic, what a failure!" he exclaimed, the venom in his voice obvious. The girl was on the verge of tears. Neji charged forward with a palm strike, ready to finish off the girl, but he stopped in his tracks.

Shikamaru barely caught the Hyuga in time before the strike. Neji struggled to move against his shadow, and Shikamaru held it as long as possible, but he was weakening every second.

Naruto observed the situation from the trees, noting the fact that Sai managed to graduate from the white room.

Sasuke was continuing to grow more and more angry by the second; he couldn't hit this kid for some reason, and the pale boy began retaliating. Sai punched Sasuke in the stomach, then kicked him in the leg. Sasuke fell to the ground, bruises forming where he had been hit. "Naruto, where the fuck are you?" Sasuke called out anger and frustration at the boy even after spouting all that shit to him about teamwork and cooperation and having the audacity not to help in the situation they were in. It was enraging.

He noticed that his opponent seemed to freeze and look nervous when he heard about Naruto. Sasuke could see the worry and distress just for a second, but it was there.

Shikamaru couldn't hold anymore, and his shadow broke. Neji lunged at Hinata, but in his rage, he didn't see the fist flying at him from there. He barely managed to catch his punch, and the force of the punch threw him back a few feet. Before he could even process what was happening, a foot came flying at his face. Neji blocked the kick and tried to return a kick, but Sai grabbed him by the collar, throwing his body onto his shoulder, and ran into the woods as fast as possible.

Neji, still bleeding from his mouth, yelled, "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, GODDAMMIT! LET'S GO GET THEM!" He yelled on Sai's shoulder, "No, we are outnumbered and are not in a position to fight; our camp might be in danger right now." Sai stated calmly.

Sasuke picked himself back up and wrapped bandages around his injuries. He looked at Naruto and asked, "What took you so long?" Sasuke scowled at the blonde. Naruto shrugged. "Don't know," Naruto answered, his face blank. Sasuke wondered, What caused such a reaction out of the pale guy? He had seemed completely calm when his teammate got caught in Shikamaru's technique and managed to best him in combat, yet the second Naruto was mentioned, he recoiled, tensed, and panicked, even if only for half a second. The dots simply did not connect.

Shikamaru was yet again left wondering Naruto had kicked so fast his leg and foot were a blur, too him, when the blonde tried to kicked the Hyuga and the immediate retreat when Naruto arrived it was suspicious they probably retreated because they thought Naruto was reinforcements he thought to himself yet Shikamaru was in a compromising position against a Hyuga own for their powerful taijutsu and The pale one managed to subdue Sasuke with relative ease meaning he must also be a skilled fighter yet someone how the second Naruto came the pale one went from calm and observant to panicked and retreated almost immediately also the pale one could have simply held Sasuke hostage but retreated instead.

It was confusing; maybe he was going on instincts alone and didn't have time to think logically. That was the best theory Shikamaru had managed to come up with.

It was soon approaching dawn, and Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru carried Hinata, Kiba, and Choji on their backs to the meeting spot, where there were several members of their class waiting for them with a small campfire. Many of them had a variety of injuries, from exhaustion to cuts and bruises. Naruto placed Hinata on the log bench and walked into the woods.

Wishing to have some peace and quiet, he saw Shikamaru there fidgeting with a shuriken as Naruto decided to leave. "Naruto, do you know that pale kid we saw earlier today?" Shikamaru asked, looking quite bored. "No, I don't, but I believe that class was rank one. I have heard of Neji Hyuga before, but never that guy," Naruto stated, his expression unchanging.

Shikamaru analyzed Naruto again, but yet again, he couldn't find a trace of a lie in Naruto's face or body language and just had to accept it.

Naruto sat down at the class meeting, apparently, and Sasuke spoke. "What have you gathered?" he asked. "Me, Sakura, and Chiya stole some meat from class two." Ino spoke, dropping a large chunk of meat onto the fire. Sasuke nodded in approval. "We got some berries we took from class 1." Akihito announced pulling out nine large berries from his packback. "Anyone else?" he asked. "We stole a shovel and some carrots from class 5." Manabu stated dropping a shovel and 7 carrots. "Not bad, but we are going to switch up tactics; instead of direct attacks, we are going to use hit-and-run tactics, understood?" Sasuke asked, "Understood," everyone said at the same time. Sasike sighed, sat down against a tree, and drifted to sleep.

Naruto looked up at the night sky. He still couldn't comprehend the infinite sky; it just stretched on for miles and miles, never ending. Today was pretty tiring, although it could have been worse, he thought to himself.
