The Build Files: Best Matches
GorillaMond (The Shining Destroyer)
- The fourth Best Match; got it the first time I tried the Diamond Fullbottle (lucky me!)
- This Best Match focuses on physical power and defense with the combination of the Gorilla Halfbody's boost to physical strength and the Diamond Halfbody's ability to produce diamonds or convert any abiotic material into diamonds, including projectiles. However, it is exceedingly slow thanks to the weight of the combined weight of each Halfbody's armor.
- The Gorilla Halfbody provides the Muscle Glove gauntlet, which in addition to boosting regular strength, has a piston system that allows for an additional impact upon contact. The Diamond Halfbody provides the BLD Prism Glove, which can either produce diamonds, or convert any abiotic material or projectile into diamonds. This ability helps increase defense as I can simply convert any projectile launched at me into diamonds and create a shield out of it.
- The biggest downside to this form is the loss of speed and agility. The Muscle Gloves weighs a lot thanks to its bulk and piston system, and while the Diamond's arm armor is better, it's still rather hefty as well. Also producing the diamonds from 'nothing' (more likely condensing any carbon particles in the air into diamonds) takes a lot of energy to do. And don't expect the diamonds produced by the BLD Prism Glove to be of great quality, they're very much unsellable by jewelry standards (trust me, I checked a while ago, and was laughed out by the jeweler, not very fun). They're only good for fighting purposes, though I hope no one else has tried to take any of the diamonds I've left behind and attempted to sell them...
- Main Vortex Finish (Gorilla Gauntlet): Using the BLD Prism Glove to create a wall of diamonds, be it from itself or from a projectile attack, I then follow up with a punch using the Muscle Glove to shatter the diamond wall to send them all flying into Smashes to damage them.
HawkGatling (The Rampage in the Skies)
- The fifth Best Match; Banjo found this one on his first try, and it was when the Hawk Fullbottle was new.
- This Best Match focuses on speed and flight with the Hawk Halfbody's Celestial Wings. While not physically strong, its strength entirely lies on its firepower, provided by the Gatling Halfbody's ability to generate gatling gun barrels on itself. I've created the Hawkgatlinger as a weapon to help with energy consumption, which I've connected to both the Hawk and Gatling Fullbottles to allow any Trial Matches using them to access it.
- The biggest weaknesses would be that neither the Hawk Halfbody or the Gatling Halfbody are particularly strong physically, meaning hand-to-hand combat is unadvisable. And using the Gatling Halfbody's ability to generate gatling gun barrels takes up a great deal of energy, hence the necessity to create the Hawkgatlinger.
- Hawkgatlinger Finisher (Full Bullet: Hawk Hurricane): By spinning the Hawkgatlinger's drum multiple times until it announces "Full Bullet", the fully charged Hawkgatlinger creates special spherical graphs that surround multiple enemies and when the trigger is pulled, hawk-shaped energy bullets fly out and hit them all. When combined with the Build Driver's Vortex Finish, it becomes Full Bullet: Hawk Helix Hurricane, allowing me to generate a gatling gun barrel on my arm that I can attach the Hawkgatlinger to for added firepower in addition to the base attack of Hawk Hurricane.
Deeramid (The Royal Family Guardian)
- The sixth Best Match; also found by Banjo on his first try finding the Deer Fullbottle's Best Match.
- This Best Match has middling stats, being only slightly lower than RabbitTank's, but it excels in defense instead thanks to the Pyramid Halfbody's ability to generate either a powerful triangular energy shield, a pyramid-shaped barrier, or a floating pyramid projection to fire lasers from. The Deer Fullbottle can also create an antler-like energy projection from the palm of the right hand that can act like a sword. But its biggest strength is that both abilities can be combined so that the pyramid projection's lasers can branch out and hit Smashes in various points on their bodies.
- The Pyramid Halfbody grants the Pyramider Shoulder, which is what provides the energy needed to create its energy projections, and the Giza Glove gauntlet, which focuses the energy into the projections. The Antler Antenna on the Deer Halfbody's chest also functions similarly to the Pyramider Shoulder, and the Deereceptor hand also focuses the Antler Antenna's energy.
- As stated, this form has rather middling stats other than its fantastic defense. Not to mention that its only able to create one shield, one barrier, and one pyramid projection, and not at the same time. Not to mention that the shield and barrier do have a limit on how many times it can get hit, or how strong the Smash is. And as the fight with Nabeshima's Heat Smash, enough heat can disrupt the energy projections of this form in particular. The same is true for the antler projection, in that it can only make one. But it can be created at the same time as the Pyramid Halfbody's projections. Though much like other Best Matches, Deeramid's energy projections take a lot of stamina, making it better to use as a form to use Vortex Finishes with.
- Main Vortex Finish (Deer Destruction): By cranking the Build Driver's handle to maximize the power of Deeramid for the Vortex Finish, multiple pyramid projections can be created, each one firing its own branching laser, overwhelming the Smash enough that the essence can be extracted.
RhiDryer (The Super Heating Dry Continent)
- The seventh Best Match; also found by Banjo after Midoriya and I were testing Best Matches for the Dryer Fullbottle (what is with him and finding all these Best Matches... I really hope that this isn't a pattern)
- Much like GorillaMond, this Best Match is specialized in physical power and defense. However, it is insanely slower due to the Rhino Halfbody's thicker armor, and the Dryer Halfbody doesn't add any sort of agility boost to compensate. However, the Dryer Halfbody does add long range capabilities with its Buildryer gauntlet attachment, allowing me to launch blasts of heated air into Smashes. The Rhino Halfbody does have a charging tackle ability, but it takes a while to use, and once used, I can't change directions.
- The Rhino Halfbody provides the Rhinuckle gauntlet, which increases strength and defense immensely thanks to its multiple layers of armor plating. The Horn Shoulder is also useful for tackles. And the Buildryer gauntlet attachment allows RhiDryer to have long ranged attacks while being able to tank attacks from Smashes and enemies. To improve on this aspect, the Drhinomic Gun was created as an additional weapon, and it can combine with the Buildryer to strengthen it for an attack. The Drhinomic Gun is connected to the Rhino and Dryer Fullbottles like the Hawkgatlinger is to the Hawk and Gatling Fullbottles, though it'd be more optimal to use it with the Dryer Fullbottle since the Rhino Halfbody lacks the Buildryer attachment to make full use of the Drhinomic Gun.
- The form's incredible slowness is the biggest detriment to this Best Match. A Smash fast enough could probably easily overwhelm this form, even with all the armor plating increasing its defense. And if I'm not careful and overuse the Buildryer attachment and the Drhinomic Gun, RhiDryer could overheat, similarly to PhoenixRobo, though less drastic thanks to the Dryer Halfbody being made to handle large amounts of heat.
- Main Vortex Finish (Dynamic Drying): By connecting the Drhinomic Gun to the Buildryer attachment to activate its Super Heat function and cranking the Build Driver's handle, a powerful blast of heated air can be launched, pinning any Smashes if there's a wall behind it, followed by a blast of fire.
From Izuku Midoriya's "Secret Rider Files"
Abilities Granted by Fullbottles W/O A Build Driver
Diamond Fullbottle: It turns the limb its activated in into a hard, unbreakable stone-like form. Very similar to Kirishima's Quirk, though in this case it's limited to the arm of the hand it's in.
Bee Fullbottle: Creates a stinger-like energy projection on one finger that can be launched and temporarily stun anyone (Mr. Banjo was not happy about being the test target for this).
Deer Fullbottle: Creates energy projections of deer antlers on the user's head for ramming attacks (this was confusing to see with Pony testing it).
Dragon Fullbottle: From watching Mr. Banjo using it, it seems like this Fullbottle grants the user the ability to use shockwave punches that emit a blue fiery aura.
Hawk Fullbottle: Temporarily grants wings when used, though they don't last long, and are only useful for gliding compared to its full flight capabilities when used in the Build Driver.
Rhino Fullbottle: Creates an energy horn on your head and allows you to do charged tackles; can't change direction once tackling, however, allowing others to dodge.
Dryer Fullbottle: Grants the ability to fire heated blasts of air from the mouth.

The Smash Files
Rock Smash
- Extracted essence created the Diamond Fullbottle
- The sixteenth Smash I fought (though it was at the same time as the Stinger and Antler Smashes); it was difficult to fight due to having to fight three Smashes at the same time
- The flesh of this Smash was rock-like, making it far more durable than some previous Smashes. Not to mention having a number of rock spikes on its body that it could use to attack with
- While this was my first fight having to deal with three Smashes at once, using the PhoenixRobo Best Match helped me turn the tides, as the strength of the Robot Halfbody was more than enough to deal with its durability, and using the Burning Birdbot Vortex Finish was more than enough to weaken it to extract the essence
- Victim was Eijiro Kirishima, a black haired teen with sharp teeth whose Quirk lets him harden his body (would explain his Smash form)
Stinger Smash
- Extracted essence created the Bee Fullbottle
- The seventeenth Smash (which was fought at the same time as the Rock and Antler Smashes); again, fighting three Smashes at once was difficult
- This Smash's stinger fingers and bee-like butt stinger were tough to deal with, especially since it could fly as well, making it difficult to target at some poitns
- Using PhoenixRobo made the fight far more easier thanks to the strength of the Robot Halfbody and the firepower of the Phoenix Halfbody. And its own powers of flight made fighting the Stinger Smash a cinch
- Victim was Mina Ashido, a pink-skinned girl with pink hair, horns, and eye with black sclera and yellow irises, who has an Acid Quirk that lets her make acid of varying strength and fluidity by adjusting its viscosity and solubility
Antler Smash
- Extracted essence created the Deer Fullbottle
- The eighteenth Smash (again, fought at the same time as the Rock and Stinger Smashes); would not recommend fighting multiple Smashes if you haven't trained for that yet
- This Smash had a straightforward strategy of ramming its horns against everything, while using punches and kicks if it's too close for a ramming attack
- While using PhoenixRobo definitely helped fighting three Smashes, the Horn Smash ended up getting stuck in a wall of pipes with its horns, allowing me to hit it with a Vortex Finish
- Victim was Pony Tsunotori, a girl with large horns and satyr-like legs, who has a Quirk that lets her remove and control her horns with her will
Burn Smash
- Extracted essence created the Dragon Fullbottle
- The nineteenth Smash fought; this... was one of the more tragic cases
- This Smash had a flamethrower-like appendage on its arm, but it didn't truly attack back
- GorillaMond was used to extract the essence
- Victim was Kasumi Ogura, Banjo's girlfriend (apparently that was her mother's last name, she doesn't like talking about her father, and neither does he); apparently she had a defect with her fire Quirk, having a weak constitution that injured her when she used it, and that it would leak out at time to time, requiring special medication to suppress it
Flying Smash
- Extracted essence created the Hawk Fullbottle
- The twentieth Smash fought; it wasn't too difficult, thankfully it didn't actually fly away to make me chase it
- This Smash had sharp wing-like arms that allowed it to slash while flying, and also had the ability to fire pellets
- GorillaMond was used to extract the essence, though I used GorillaVacuum to keep it from escaping. Sawa did not help with her commentary during this fight
- Victim was Reika, who helped Banjo and Sawa get in and out of Seito to help Nabeshima's family, on the promise of him testifying for his innocence, though that didn't pan out thanks to him losing his memory
Horn Smash
- Extracted essence created the Rhino Fullbottle
- The twenty first Smash fought; it was difficult to deal with thanks to its incredible thick armor, not to mention that it just really strong in general
- This Smash had a straightforward strategy like the Antler Smash, but it was a lot more powerful, and bigger too
- HawkGatling could not leave a dent on this Smash, but using the Deeramid Best Match was just what it needed to be beaten, thanks to the branching lasers hitting it in multiple points while heating up its armor
- Victim was Masahiro Nabeshima, the man who helped frame Ryuga Banjo for Takumi Katsuragi's murder
Heat Smash
- Extracted essence created the Dryer Fullbottle
- The twenty second Smash fought; it started off difficult, but it only got worse thanks to being struck with another dose of Nebula Gas, thankfully Banjo and All Might managed to jump in to help
- This Smash was identical to the Horn Smash, in part due to it being Nabeshima being experimented on again; this time, its horn was replaced with a smokestack-like one that allowed it to fire blasts of heated air, and a hole in its chest that acted similarly to a cannon
- Unlike before, using HawkGatling was enough to take it down, thanks to it being weakened by the Drill Crusher that Banjo threw and All Might slugging it as he landed. Had to use a Vortex Finish in conjunction with the Full Bullet finisher of the Hawkgatlinger
- Victim was Masahiro Nabeshima, who was captured after the first extraction, getting a second dose that apparently altered his Smash form, and then a third does that made him a giant; it's no wonder he's lost his memories like me (but why does it feel like it only took one dose for me to lose all of my memories...)
ORIGINAL AO3 NOTES:
- Here we go, finally doing the second Build Files! I know I said that I'd do them every two to three chapters. Turns out it was five, whoops. Oh well, that just means that there's a lot of info to be read in here. Like before, though, I won't be including Best Matches, Fullbottles, and Smashes that were introduced immediately prior to the Build Files if their Fullbottle hasn't be purified yet. This means that the Feral, Bamboo, and Fan Smashes won't be listed here, as well as the Wolf, Panda, and Helicopter Smashes. Same with RocketPanda.
- I'll be pointing a bunch of trivia for the Best Matches that weren't used in the show, since there's no actual names for the parts like the ones that were used.
- Deeramid Trivia: Pyramider = Pyramid + Rider (you pronounce the "mider" similarly to "rider", so it doesn't sound like you're saying "meter"); Giza Glove comes from the Pyramids of Giza; Deereceptor = Deer + Receptor
- RhiDryer Trivia: Rhinuckle = Rhinoceros + knuckle; Buildryer = Build + dryer
