Doing as instructed Teddy followed the college-aged students towards the front doors. There was no easy way in however- a Literary Pages employee stood on the threshold, waving erratically, while a cluster of customers screamed excitedly.
"Excuse me, excuse me! If you children could calm down, Ms. Hyde is in the middle of-"
Random adults shoved forward, perhaps trying to glimpse through frosted glass.
"We're not kids, sir!"
"Omg. I think I see her!"
"Shit... Think I'm getting a hard-on!"
Alright. Theodore quite agreed with everyone's enthusiasm: he wanted to see her too. But never in his life had he witnessed people so barbaric... These thoughts fell into obscurity, though, when none other than Elena Jr. snuck from behind said employee, resting a hand atop broad shoulders.
Instant jealousy surged as her beauty dominated the entirety of the building. Somehow more beautiful than before, indescribable lust beckoned people forward, emanating from bare flesh peeking under a low-cut blouse. How could one woman do this to so many others?
"I've got this, Enrique. Please?"
Staring down at the gorgeous lady Enrique- dark skinned womanizer that he was- stuttered incoherently.
"Okay... M-miss-"
"Good. Good. Move along, now."
When the poor man did so, Elena grinned, showcasing brilliant white teeth.
"Please, come in. My table is up front, but the owner has been gracious enough to place a questionnaire panel towards the back of the store."
Without waiting for a response she ushered everyone inside, eventually setting bright orbs on Teddy. Keeping him aside, her hands shut the doors, hissing:
"What are you doing here?"
Oh. This took him aback; yes he wondered how strange it would have looked to just show unannounced, but why was the woman so angry?
Even at five feet, she caused him to shrink like some scared mouse.
"Um. You told me to find you-?"
"No, Mr. Grey. I specifically told you to call. Not appear at one of my... You do, of course, realize this is extremely unprofessional."
Again. Why was she so furious?
"Yeah. But... What's the big deal?"
Well. Probably lots of shit. Not only did they barely know each other. He probably came off as some love sick stalker.
Folding both arms, Elena huffed.
"It makes me uncomfortable. Not with you as a person. Loved our communication last night. I did. I just wouldn't have wanted you to see what material I write about, after talking so obscenely about my mother. Then the tabloids. If they were to catch us..."
To hell with whatever material! Theodore could have cared less if whimsical spirits squirted juice out their nipples in such books. Everyone got inspired somehow. And about the paparazzi... Weirdly he wished for them to take pictures. Let the world know Hyde and Grey hung out. Or... Or...
Before Elena could continue her tirade a beanpole of a female materialized, clipboard in hand:
"Dean said they're ready."
"Oh. Very well."
As the coordinator sped off, Elena spat:
"Don't move. Or join us. which ever you prefer. We need to rendezvous after."
